Hi Everyone,
First I apologize if this isn't the right place to post this, please move it to the correct forum if it's not.
I have a Asus TF700 (running the latest Asus firmware) the, warranty just ran out so I figured it was time to unlock and play with some custom roms.
I got it unlocked using the Asus bootloader tool, I went to install CWM using fastboot and it seemed to go OK but then when I went to reboot the bootloader it failed giving me a write failure. Now when I try to boot up recovery it briefly shows the android guy in working mode then goes to the error with the android laying on his back.
Here is my commands with fastboot:
C:\adb>adb reboot bootloader
C:\adb>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (6688 KB)...
OKAY [ 2.483s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 2.409s]
finished. total time: 4.893s
C:\adb>fastboot reboot-bootloader
rebooting into bootloader...
FAILED (command write failed (Unknown error))
finished. total time: 0.636s
C:\adb>adb reboot bootloader
error: device not found
And that's it, I'm a bit stumped not sure how to fix it so I can move onto installing the roms, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone?
DId you install the Google USB driver?
If don't,please install the Android SDK and install all.

Yes, if I hadn't then I wouldnt have been able to use fastboot or install CWM.
No one? I thought this was the android super stars forum.
Can someone at lease suggest another forum with people willing to help?
Not a single person willing to help me out? Wow, thanks.
Hi
I have Mm 6.01 installed via adb sideloading from lollipop without any wipe. Somehow it worked.
The reason I had to do it that way is that phone is encrypted but when I boot to TWRP it does not recognise my decryption Pin so I couldn't flash from recovery.
I was using the seraja recovery.
Anyone got access to the encrypted partitions through TWRP? I don't know how to install TWRP 3.0.2 which might have a fix for the pin problem. Each way I try doesn't work. Any ideas?

Since you was on a twrp recovery so you made your bootloader device unlocked so you can easily install twrp 3.0.2 which maybe help you in solving your problem
To flash Twrp 3.0.2 follow this:
1- Download Twrp 3.0.2 from this link: https://dl.twrp.me/sirius/twrp-3.0.2-0-sirius.img.html
2- By using Fastboot you have installed on your PC, Put the twrp 3.0.2 you have downloaded in step 1 in the folder of ADB and Fastboot and you can flash twrp 3.0.2 by using this command: fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-sirius.img
If there is any question or a problem with this guide just tell me and i will help you
I hope that i had helped you.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, however, it doesn't work because the encryption prevents it writing to the partition.
C:\adb>fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-sirius.img
sending 'recovery' (11570 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.380s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.403s
C:\adb>
Any ideas?

So your problem has been solved or not??
If not you have to unlock your bootloader which will allow you to install twrp recovery from adb command successfully.
Tell me the final result
I'm trying to flash system.img using fastboot. However it says "FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)"
I can access fastboot and Recovery.
I'm doing this because I have no OS due to accidental wipe.
I'm using Huawei Mediapad M2 801L

Already another thread here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/help-please-help-to-unlock-bootloader-t3514419/page1
Please use search and read before posting. It keeps the forums clean . Copy and paste the adb/fastboot log you got here so that we can help you better. Also you can flash a custom rom and get things straight if you have a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM installed.
Hi everyone!
I want to install TWRP on a P20 Lite with the main goal to install LOS16 and possible other custom ROMs. Therefore I was following the official guide on LOS.
However when I try to boot/flash the TWRP image-file with fastboot i receive the following error:
Problem
Code:
$>fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Sending 'recovery' (14946 KB) OKAY [ 0.396s]
Writing 'recovery' FAILED (remote: 'partition length get error')
fastboot: error: Command failed
$>fastboot boot twrp.img
Sending 'boot.img' (14946 KB) OKAY [ 0.376s]
Booting FAILED (remote: 'invalid command')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Error is shown in admin command line as well.
Furthermore I get the following error which let me think that it is more of a fastboot problem.
Code:
$>fastboot getvar version
getvar:version FAILED (remote: 'invalid command')
$>fastboot oem device-info
FAILED (remote: 'invalid command')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Specs
Phone: Huawei P20 Lite ANE-LX1
Build:9.1.0.377(C432E7R1P7)
EMUI-Version 9.1.0
Bootloader unlocked - PHONE Unlocked, FRP unlocked (via PotatoNV method with same adb/fastboot installation).
Adb:
Android Debug Bridge version 1.0.41
Version 30.0.5-6877874
Info
Same error with adb/fastboot from two different PCs (Win10). Adb and fastboot seem to work in general. For example both show the device in List of devices attached and i can reboot and boot via adb and fastboot.
As I understand this post it is not possible to flash twrp directly on android 9.
However I tried the twrp file linked in the mentioned post and several images linked in this forum (this, this) + the one from twrp-anne and got the same error fastboot: error: Command failed on all.
Does anybody know or has a hint what might be the problem? Any help appreciated.
Best regards
I had the same issue.
You have to use the command: fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp.img

That worked!
Thank you very much. Both of you for the fast answer
I am currently researching before asking more noob questions. Have some thoughts. Especially on difference between eRecovery and Recovery and why commands as fastboot oem device info where not working before the recovery_ramdisk. Might return later.
Thx!
