How to Root your Android Sony Xperia Z3v Easily ?: https://youtu.be/qH89pJLWfKg
Anyone tried this?
It won't work. That video was published in December of 2014. We would know if it worked or not. The thing is that this phone is not an international phone. You will definitely hear about root from here before anywhere else.
If you want to see anything for a root, I suggest you donate for the bounty thread to raise it up.

Already did donate, just something I found on the Web and figured what the hell maybe it's something worth looking at.
Did you try this. I don't think it work
I've spoken to zxz0O0 and he recommended me to try his latest tool since he was able to unlock the D6616 Z3 for T-Mobile. I attempted it but it doesn't work with our D6708, and I'm cooperating with what he'll say for the support.

It works using the shipped firmware .376. I just confirmed with root checker. (@Zxz0O0's method is the one I'm referring to)
Look att the submitted picture. It says Android 5.1 with MTCB-KLD- xxx MCU. Is this a true 5.1?
I am not sure, but I asked Pumpkin (KLD) and they said, that they are trying to release Android 5.1.1 for all their Android 4.4.4 head units. They told me, that it will be published in June, when they receive the rom from the factory.

Neither am I. That's why I'm throwing the question out. I doubt this is correct since it looks
like the others are struggling to get it released.

Pumpkin are simply a reseller, so pointless contacting them - myself and another user contacted the manufacturer, Klyde, directly a few days ago and are waiting for a response, we will post as soon as we hear back.

The only people "struggling" to get it released is Joying, but seeing as Joying is a seller, not a manufacturer, thats not surprising really.

Very nice, but it is NOT a "Pumpkin", its a Klyde, thats why it says "KLD6" near the MCU.

No, I never said that, but it has been mentioned briefly in one of the MTCD threads.
MTCB head units from Klyde with 5.1.1 have been spotted on youtube, 2 of us have contacted Klye and we will report back with more info as soon as we get it.

You might install on your HU a Lollipop requiring app and check if it works.
For example:
AZ Screen Recorder - No Root (free)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hecorat.screenrecorder.free

I'm with you. That's why I did ask the question here. If someone would know rather than wait for Klyde to response.
In my case I would like to return the HU's a.s.a.p. Looking at the MB it's the "old" version, not even with the extended
WiFi which is on the new MB from Klyde. That's why I'm suspicious.

If youve fixed the problem then you should post the solution in the DAB thread to the help others who had the same problem.
You have 2 MTCB units then ? ALL MTCB quad core units will be compatible with the 5.1.1.
I ve still not heard back form Klyde about Lollipop, but Kumarai has linked to an upload of a KLYD L 1024x600/RK3188 image over in the original thread :

Will this website work for rooting my lgus992? https://www.search4roots.com/how-to-easily-root-lg-g5-marshmallow-6-0-1/ if not does anyone know how I can? I have tried kingoroot kingroot and towelroot. Thank you
There are no public root methods available for that model. Only for European variants and T-Mobile.

I'm pretty sure they're just reposting the same directions for every Android device they post about, without actually testing it. Their tool might work on some basic devices (like the dozens of phones on the site I've never heard of) but it's going to give an error on yours, or worse. Try it if you want, but if they knew it worked they'd be here claiming almost $5,000 in bounty money.

Hey guys. I've been reading a bit and seems that I might be able to get Verizon WiFi and video calling feature back on my open market unlocked and rooted us998. I am on Verizon service.
Can someone be so kind as to point me in the direction of where I can find instructions for that if I'm reading things correctly. Thanks
I hate to ask for something I know is already here somewhere. But I'll have to second this request. I think it's in the Frankenstein thread somewhere but I went through the hole thing and must have overlooked it.

With all the different models, cross flashing, and all, there's been several different threads created that has left me a bit confused. I'm not even sure that what I'm asking for is legit.

So am I correct in assuming that I would have to start with Verizon branded equipment for this to work? Or can I install files per the instructions and access the service that my carrier offers on their branded devices? I might try it when I have time just to find out.

My understanding: As long as you start with a North American V30, the specific version of firmware you began with shouldn't matter. You flash to the "generic" US998 and then flash the specific modem files for the network you are connected to. The hardware is the same, but the firmware tells the device how to communicate with the particular network if that network is using something proprietary or non-standard.
To be clear: it is the modem files for the network YOU ARE USING that need to be flashed to potentially access non standard features such as VoLTE, VOWIFI and perhaps visual voicemail. Eg, flashing the files he used for Verizon would not help (and might hinder) if you are connecting to something non-Verizon.

No, you can start with any North America V30/V30+/V30S variant.
Which is nice as Verizon never sold the V30+.

Right. Jump you post #193 in that thread. Post #1 in that thread has copy and paste of post #193, but the original is easier to read than quoted version.
Print it out if you can. Don't skip steps. It clearly tells when the go to the next section. It's not hard, you just have to follow the steps.
CONCEPT: @TxanMoe discovered LG Oreo on the V30/V30+/V30S has nice flaw where you can flash your own bootloader unlock code to successfully unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and root.
But you need fastboot flash commands. In North America, only the carrier unlocked US998 has that. But you can use dev patched LGUP to convert any other North America phone (except T-mobile H932) to become a US998 Oreo phone. FLASH bootloader unlock code. BOOM. Sprint and Verizon users then add back LTE bands or VoLTE/Wi-fi calling.
Similar situation for the the rest of the world with the European H930 Oreo. Some differences but for this overall view, it's the same concept.
Now, we have learned the June Android security patch will have fix for "LG bootloaders". Unlock the bootloader while you can!
Hey all, glad this thread is here so that hopefully we can have a more centralized place to have this discussion. After a lot more testing and tinkering I've found that original process to be a longshot at best. It works and then fails, and I haven't been able to recreate the same outcome, whether it's a success or not, twice. With that being said I've been focusing on edits to /system/etc/dsts/joan_vzw_170626/carrierconfig.xml and build.prop (a good place to start are the lines added by the Xposed VoLTE/VoWiFi Enabler module, although the module itself is not necessary) where enabling these features in this way was originally neglected. I am continuing to try and figure this out and it seems like maybe an init.d script at boot that covers all may be a way to go. I've also decompiled and started to try and look at the LG IME and the various VZW system apps to see what actually pertains and what doesn't. Will follow up here and if anyone had anything else to add or has succeed consistently do please let me know.

Any luck with this? updates on your progress?
I currently own the US model of this device. I've done some digging in the forums but I never really come up with very much. If anyone could help I'd be willing to try just about anything to get this phone rooted as long as there's a recovery option. I've read in other threads that the European model can be rooted but the US version has no such luck. If anyone has anymore information please post a reply I would love to get a discussion started. Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, yes your appear to be right. I haven't been able to find anything on this device as far as the U.S. version goes anyway. Apparently, the European version has already been rooted with Magisk and an unlocked bootloader. Although no one has said much of anything about this one. I hope there some development soon!!
A shame these dont yet have bootloader unlock etc.. Its a great phone with Awesome specs on it.
I picked up a Like NEw one for 200.00 (u.s. sprint) version. I use it on t-mobile.

Well it has according to the LG website. Didn't try it out yet.

• LG V50S: LMG850EMW/LMG850EMWX for the European market
This is the LG G8X (check your device info).
We'll probably have to wait for Firehose to be released for LG Snapdragon 855 to have any hopes for unlocking on Non EU variants
No bootloader unlock available? Was checking developer settings and was able to turn on OEM unlock. Would really like to see some AOSP ROMs available for this phone.
I am very glad to be getting replies here. However, US models are still unrootable as far as I can tell its not listed for the US region but is listed for EU. So far no new updates. Please keep the conversation alive though!! Need a developer to start cracking down on this device please!
If anyone knows any developer's willing to work on this device I will quite literally give them payment to develop a working root method for this device. No joke. I'm not very sure how much power developers have over this device. But I would really love to find out.

How would I go about doing this? Not all that familiar with Xda honestly. I rooted my old phone thanks to this site but I wouldn't know how to contact any developers on this subject.
A shame that this high end phone does not yet have root/rom. (in u.s.) You can pick these up fairly inexpensively (on ebay..as I did)
Hope LG is able to get bootloader unlocked one day or I may have to go back to Xiaomi / Oneplus
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Well considering this same device is rooted it would likely mean that eventually we will have something. It might take awhile however. The EU version is definitely rooted and even compatible with Magisk having an unlocked bootloader is fantastic. Especially in this time. However since our country is a bit more controlling when it comes to phone data we may not see one until this device is obsolete. Meaning that LG will have made their money on it and therefore feel safe releasing a bootloader unlock officially..
