Hi,
I've tried a factory reset but the problem is still there. The tablet picks up wifi signal, connects, but then gives an 'out of range' message. I've tried more than one wifi so not the modem. I have another identical tablet that doesn't have this problem. Any ideas?

Hello,
I have bought the i9305 a few days before Christmas. From the beginning on, I was experiencing some problems connecting to WiFi routers. After flashing different custom roms, the problems are still there :
when I'm 2 meters away form the router there is no problem : great speed, stable connection. But when I'm like 10 meters away, I get the error message : "Incorrect Password" -> "Authentication error occurred" and I can't even connect to my WiFi. This happens at all the routers I'm trying to connect to at home and at work. I have already tried different tricks from the internet http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/07/11/how-to-fix-samsung-galaxy-siii-wi-fi-connection-problems/. Further more I have flashed different modem firmwares. Still the same problem.
Is this a hardware failure and should I try to exchange my S3 LTE?
I had the same problem after doing a Nandroid restore on a replaced i9300. The range went very short and couldn't connect most of the time. I eventually found it was a file called .cid.info in /data that was causing the problem. Try renaming or deleting that file and then turn your WiFi off and back on. Otherwise it's probably a hardware failure.
having issues. wifi at home works with no issue.
no rom installed. stock 4.04 updated to 4.1.2.
laptop connects fine, so I know the wireless works otherwise.
tried wpa/wpa2 and tkip/aes. nothing. also with no auth.
when I turn on wifi, it says the ssid is 'saved, secured'
yet when I click on it, it offers for me to forget or connect.
when I click on connect it just sits there.
I turned off the at&t wifi as I saw in other posts, but still nothing.
Hi guys,
Looked for an answer on this forum, no luck....
Problem,
When connected to an Wifi N-router, my wifi works for an certan amount of time and than drops. Wifi says I have a full conncetion but all my apps say there is no internet. Manually set Wifi on and off works until the connection drops again.
The strange thing is that it is only on N-routers. When I put the mixed mode on, it works like a charm.
But the problem is, Wifi is so slow on mixed that it is no option for long term.
Also it looks like even some routers with mixed on, makes the wifi drop. On my ubee modem every mode drops the signal, on a older linksys modem mixed (b/g/n) works.
Solutions tried:
- Got a new phone, same problem
- Factory reset, same problem
- Disabling Wifi power saver or any battery saver, same problem
- Change Wifi direct name, no luck
- Try apps like wifi repair, or signal boost, no change
- Static Ip adress, did not work
- WPA, WPA2, WEP, no luck.
- disable sleep on my phone, no luck
- Reset the modem, even factory reset the modem, same problem
- Problem was still existing after Firmware update....
I think I tried almost everything. Do one of you have the solution?
Phone
Acer E700
Kitkat 4.4.2
Not rooted or anything...
Thanks so much!

The issue was driving me crazy since the update to KK 4.4.2. It was like disconnecting the Wifi but the Wifi was not disabled, just the Wifi icon turned grey instead of the green when you are actually connected. Well long story short, turn off your BLUETOOTH and it will not disconnect anymore from Wifi. It seems to be a 4.4.2 bug.
Yeah I know.. who would have thought that?
Anyways, this works for my Acer E700 for days now and I am pretty convinced it will keep on working. Before this I was losing the connection within half an hour (but when on the power adapter the Wifi wasnt dropped)
Hi.
I have two s3 phones. I tried to create a backup using one S3 and restore it on another one (too have same apps on both). Everything is fine, except WIFI connection fails on second phone.
I tried to clear dalvik-cache, but didn't work.
WIFI connection and WIFI-Direct don't work. WIFI sees the router, but cannot connect to it. It shows zero signal strength.
I did the factory reset on second phone and wifi worked.
It seems that some settings/data should be cleared to make wifi work again.
Any suggestion?
Hi All,
I just received a replacement for my V10 that suddenly died and I'm now having Wi-Fi connection issues.
When I brought it home yesterday the phone was still on 5.1.1 but updated overnight to 6.0 both experienced the same issue.
I have not rooted my device yet but will in the near future.
I have 3 different access points in my home with different id for each.
I can connect to one of them but not the other two.
When I try to connect it I eventually get a WI-FI connection error, or the connection is labeled disabled, or the connection doesn't connect and just shows saved.
I have tried:
1) reset the router
2) changed the password
3) changed to an open connection e.g. no password
4) forgotten then connection on the phone
5) restarted phone
none of these have fixed my issue.
Anyone have similar issues?
Anyone have any ideas for a fix?
Thanks you all for reading my problem.
steve
Just started having a similar issue yesterday. Stock MM, no root. Factory reset had no effect.
Maybe you can join my thread, I have problem with wifi also. You can check if we have same issue and may try my workaround http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/help/wifi-mac-address-changes-reboot-h90120j-t3470140
I actually just noticed this on my phone yesterday. It seems to happen to me when the wifi signal is a bit weaker (but should still be able to connect). My wife's V10 didn't have an issue though. Haven't find a solution yet, but my wifi would also not find any connections after it would disconnect and have to rescan to locate any networks.
