Hi I got a Brand new Samsung Galaxy Mini 2, great device, everything is perfect only problem I got is that when I'm in Google Play and want to look at the screenshots of an app, and swipe between them the device freezes, then vibrates and sends me back to Google Play, sometimes it gives me an error message, I have done like 3 factory resets but it doesn't fix it, any recommendations?
Thank You
Someone?

I'm on the latest, which is 3.9.16. I have noticed that if the screenshots on google play are in landscape, there is no problem switching between them (eg. Nova), and if I hold the device sideways, I can switch between the screens even if they are portrait screenshots with no problem, wondering if there es a problem with the screen size, everything in any other app is perfect, I tried viewing pictures on the IMDB app and works perfect is just when clicking the images on google play.
thanks.
OK, the problem is related to google play 3.9.16, I know because in manage applicationd I uninstalled google play updates so it went to a previous version, and it works perfect, the problem is that it updates by itself back to 3.9.16 and the problem comes back. any ideas? maybe a way to stop it from updating?
Thanks

You can use Titanium Backup to keep it form Updating. Or you can go into Menu - Settings - Applications - Manage applications - Market Updater. Then Force Stop it from there. But I think you might also just want to try the latest version of the Play Store. You can find it v3.9.17 HERE. The article has the Download links, and info on what's new.
To start off, I have searched for a solution to this problem on here, and I have found nothing about it. I apologize if this thread exists (I have searched for it) and if it does, then please point me in the right direction. Thanks. As for the problem, every time I try to open the Google Play store it closes right way. This did not happen before receiving the Jelly bean update. I was wondering if any of you have encountered a similar problem. If so, have you found a way to fix it? Additional information: Stock jelly bean, unrooted

Unfortunately, I have tried that and it did not work. Basically it at least pulled up the play store page for a second then immediately crashed, instead of crashing right away. Still crashed though

Had Google play crashes myself after my navigation/maps was crashing too...now that its a known fact about navigation having issues I've just waited patiently for that particular fix....I seemed to have gotten lucky and don't have Google play crashing for last 2 days by:
A. Not using navigation til fix os found
B. Wiping 3x and reinstalling stock rooted chubbz jellybean rom.
Don't know if it has direct corrolation to navigation issue buts at least kept Google play from crashing for me since. Hope that helps.

Out of nowhere I keep getting force closes of the google play services and google play location service on boot. It also happens at random points when the phone is on. Any ideas on what could cause this? I am rooted
Me too... Stump rooted also. No build prop edits to date. Always been curious myself when it pops up. Im sure its addressed here somewhere.

Try uninstalling updates under settings/apps. Then update through the play store. I had an issue awhile back but I sideloaded Google play services from the android l dump for kicks. I kept getting fcs also and this helped. Give it a shot.

Ok its worth a shot!
I'm having the same problem too. I just switched from a Sony Smartwatch 2 to the LG G watch, and I though it had something to do with the Android Wear apps. I ended up doing a factory reset and Titanium restore, thinking that should solve the problem. Five minutes ago I got the same Google Services message. Prior to the reset, I was getting frequent Google Location Services pop-ups as well.
Wow... this is annoying.
Same, trying to find the previous version of Google services.
Are you guys using google keyboard or stock lg keyboard.
Same error for me since using Google keyboard, but I can live with that
please hit thanks if i helped in any way. send from my g3 d852 beast
I'm running SwiftKey. For now, I've just disabled notifications for Google Play Services.
I guess my issue was my own fault. I had the location notification hider installed with xposed. I uninstalled it and it seems to be fine now. It was just weird I've had it installed for weeks and it all of a sudden started screwing up.

Glad I could help!
Hello guys.
Many users, including me, stumbled across this problem the past couple of days.
There seems to be an issue with the latest Google Play Store version, which becomes stuck on waiting for network if you try to download something at random times.
This is very frustrating but I found a fix, although temporary until Google updates the play store.
WARNING: This requires root. Also I am not responsible for any damage that happens to your phone, proceed at your own risk as always.
Without further ado, this is what this fix is about:
Go to apps, press the three dot menu on the top right, show system apps, and find Google Play Store.
Once in Google Play Store, press remove updates, or disable and enable the app again, both ways work.
If you see in the notification bar that Google Play Store is updating, CANCEL IT.
Now, this is where is gets interesting.
Normally the Google Play Store will update itself, but we want to stop that until a later date where a fix is pushed out.
Download the app called MyAndroidTools.
Open the app and select the service menu, press system.
Scroll down to Google Play Store.
Find a switch named SelfUpadteChecker and turn it off.
Voila, your play store will now be working properly.
REMINDER: This is not a permanent solution, remember to check again if the play store is fixed at a later date to enable the switch again and update to the latest version.
Have a nice day all.
EDIT 3/4/17 : I found out that these switches may further help stop Google Play store from updating.
Again use at your own risk.

MaintainanceWindowJobService
RescheduleUsingAlarmManager$CheckWifiAndAutoUpdate
RescheduleIUsingBroadcast$AutoUpdateRecheckFrorBroadcast
RescheduleUsingJobScheduler$CheckPreconditionsAndAutoUpdateJobService
SeflUpdateCheckerScheduler$SelfUpdateCheckerTaskService
EDIT 5/4/17, second way.:
I still recommend the first way because it seems the issue is still not resolved, but this may appeal to users who want something less intrusive or don't have root.
I found out that the issue is not yet resolved with the latest google play version, but I was able to make play store work again with the following :
Cleared data of Download Manager with Titanium Backup.
Clered data of Google play services with Titanium Backup.
Rebooted.
I have no idea if this will last, but I was able to download apps after this, without touching the latest verion of Google Play Store.
If you wanna be extra safe uninstall updates from play store as well, but this worked for me without doing so.
Update: 7/4/17:
Zte announced a new software update, namely B02, which should fix this issue without any user actions required.
Thanks @Choose an username... for reminding me.
Hope it works.
Thanks!
What I did was to download an earlier version of the Play Store, install and before running it for the first time, I disabled the SelfUpadteChecker.
But for some reason, the Play store still tried to download the update, it just crashed after the download. The funny thing is, during the 5 seconds between starting Play Store and the crash, I was able to download an app update.
Which version of Play Store should I use?
Just to clarify, I use the Chinese firmware, so I cannot remove updates, it is not a system app. I can only uninstall it completely.
.
Thanks man. It is working on me right now.
Glad it does.
If it helped hit that thanks button.
I'll update it soon with some further findings as well.

Were you able to unbrick your Axon 7? I read it was in DFU mode wasn't it ?

unbrick one is my friend's. it is cn version, mine is good.
It doesn't require a root. Just cancel updating after you uninstall updates and you are good for some time at least.
On mine, it seems to use the Download Manager app for ALL downloads, including the Play store. If you go to the settings in Download Manager, you'll see a "Download files only via Wi-Fi. Untick that box and Play Store starts working properly again.
I can only assume that the crappy Download Manager is intercepting and controlling all download requests.

I doubt it, it can't work on a supposedly uncertified device and all of a sudden stop working.
Or the device showing up as certified and all of a sudden becomes uncertified.
I personally think a play store update is broken most likely, because it has been reported from rooted and stock users, plus on other devices rather than the Axon 7 as well.
Guide updated.
@nfsmw_gr You should prolly write down somewhere in the OP (preferrably big, and where it says that it is not a permanent solution) that ZTE announced an upcoming B02 with fixes including this one.
It shouldn't be too far away since it has already rolled out to Chinese versions.
thanks for the fix though

Check out this thread:

Hello everyone. Since yesterday my phone has been polling my location constantly. I didn't find any issues with security (Malwarebytes scan), I'm not using any weird app not from the Play Store, I didn't change any setting and the privacy setting is not showing like any app is asking for location constantly. Are you experiencing anything like this? How would you go about fixing this issue? Thanks.
FIX: Google Play Services 22.45.17 solves the issue. If you didn't get the update you can get it on APKMirror at your own risk.
Same issue here! I guess we should wait for a Google Play services update

I've been digging a bit more and looks like it's not due to Google Play Services. I checked and it polled the location data in the background correctly without triggering the icon in the status bar. There's something else, maybe proprietary to Motorola, that's freaking out and using location all the time.
I don't see the battery being affected though. Did you?

No effect on the battery either here. When did you start seeing this issue? For me it was yesterday.
Last week, then it stopped after disabling and re-enabling all locations setting. Yesterday it happens again
The only new app i installed before it happening was the Google health connect

For me, as of today, it didn't stop disabling and re-enabling the location access. It stopped for a while, but started back showing the location icon after a while. No amount of reboots and checks solved anything.
Have you joined the beta on Google app, Google play services etc? The only thing I didn't try is to unroll from all beta versions

I'm not on the beta Google Play Services app and didn't want to roll back because I think it's gonna mess up something for sure! Also, from what I can see, if you disable and enable the location service and check after a short while the authorizations for the Google Play Services you'll see that it uses location data briefly and correctly in the background without any issues. I think that's not the culprit.
Hello Gents

No shot, I don't know what to do about it really. It just happened suddenly one day and doesn't seem it's gonna fix itself anytime soon. Do you any other people experiencing this issue? Other recent posts about this issue?
Brothers, any good news in this issue?

No good news unfortunately. I keep reading online about people having the same issue and nobody knows how to fix it. It's getting ridicolous at this point, really. Someone should get a hold of Google. I tried sending an email through the Play Store, but I got an email back saying that they don't monitor that email address anymore and got sent back to the useless FAQ page.
@dielle27 @Sultan M I got suggested to try to boot the phone in safe mode but it happened again. Wanna try that and let me know?
I received a new update with November system patch, but location icon is still there.

Got the update too but didn't install it because another user with an Edge 20 is on the same patch and they can't make the icon disappear even for just an hour at the time. On their phone it's on ALL the time, no matter what. So I'm holding off the update.
If i disable and then enable again the location setting, the icon disappears for a while, so for me nothing changed with the update

I've seen that on other forums for other phones they suggested a rollback of the Play Services. I tried but it didn't work. Can you try aswell and let me know if it's a solution for you? Thanks!
It didn't work as well. At least battery life isn't affected, but it's pretty annoying as well to not have a resolution after an official update
