Disappointing really. NFC has been broken for a year now. Bluetooth is hit or miss and always short range. Really just sticking to Barepop until 6.0.

Max Krivonos (Scepterr on XDA) has updated a old "Amaze is now amazing" post of his on Google+.
https://plus.google.com/106544349933037831956/posts/1SMW3eVKk1d
Max is the current maintainer for the Amaze for CM9. He's had a number of small updates yesterday and today alone.
I'm working towards having a build with working hw OMX ready for the weekend. Camera would be the only major lacking feature.

Anyone else excited? I have been dying to run a AOSP rom on my phone since release of the device.
*edit: removed inaccuracy about Max being a maintainer for a different device, sorry, I don't honestly know why I thought he was. Added video, and G+ update.
God yes, can't wait for an AOSP ROM for this phone

CM9 is a fork of the android 4.0.3 operating system. So yes, it's ICS, derived from AOSP, with no Sense UI garbage.
http://bit.ly/zAuapn
This is probably the most exciting news I've seen on here in a while. Now the real question is, is CM9 for the amaze coming out before HTC send out their ics update for us? I'd be curious to see what HTC does for us, but if it comes out after CM9, then there's no way I'd even think of trying it out.
Very Nice... Just came from the Evo3D on Sprint... Looking forward to this.
Thanks for this post. I've been pretty infrequent here lately due to the lack of S-OFF and all of the variations of Sense based ROMs and all the ICS-themed ones. I looked for xboarder's ICS ROM thread a while back but that looks like it was deleted so i thought there was no more progress. Faith has been restored!
This is pretty awesome. Cant wait to give it a shot.

This would be interesting, assuming CM9 is stable, I would definitely use it as a daily, even without a camera/BT/NFC/etc. However, I can imagine that the official release will be running on a 3.x kernel, as where I'm SURE that Max is using a 2.6.x kernel right now.... This all being said, I'm sure having the kernel source to the official release when available will help bring a 3.x kernel to the Amaze.
TL;DR
Assuming it's stable on a 2.6.x kernel, and most things work, I'd stick with CM9 regardless.
If it's (CM9) lacking a ton of hardware features, I could see running the HTC build till CM9 hardware support catches up.
Also, a CM9 alpha WILL be available before HTC releases/leaks anything, that is almost guaranteed.

You can always build the rom here it's source:
https://github.com/tdm/android_device_samsung_ypg1/tree/ics
First off, look around at the threads and actually read them instead of starting a new thread.
Second, this has no business in the dev section.
Really sorry when I posted in the threads for them it was ignored and I have read the other threads just find it hard to keep up with whats going on
Oh and can u point me to a tut for making custom roms? I want to give it a go.
Do i need ubuntu and the source ure pointing me to is that for yp-g1 or the samsung epic as it talks abiut the samsung epic.
And is the source gingerbread or ics?
Thanks
Been busy on another ROM. Expect CM7, CM9, and AOKP builds within a week or two.
Oh so youre building a 4.0 player ics rom tmcode?

Yes. Collect all three.
Got a good build, more or less. It's better than last time -- at least audio works.
Still have issues with everything else though. Home button is acting like a select, wifi is not quite working, bluetooth won't turn on, and the camera won't connect. But progress is being made.

Been working on a single kernel and pure MTD system. See other thread for details.
Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten much of the stuff working under CM9. All that really works right now is wifi and sound.
Could we have a early build to mess around with even when they only work?

MHL HDMI out question

Hey guys,
I'm on Jamies cm10 paranoid android build (Smooth as butter and out of beta! just btw), But i cant get the hdmi out to work... Itll go in and out every few seconds... does anyone know of any jb or ics roms that it does work in? or do i have to use a gingerbread one? Because i need this feature starting tomorrow, thanks alot.
All stock ics and gb roms have functioning HDMI output.
Flapjaxxx, Black Star, Team Perfection, Electron73 also are good to go.
Are you presenting lectures with your note? I do and its sweet.

I'm also using Jamie's Paranoid/CM10 Aug.20. I recently bought an MHL HDMI out and tried it last night on my girlfriend's TV. I was getting the same result. I was thinking that it could be the player that I was using? But the app plays the video files on my phone with no problems. It is only when I plug into the TV.
I was really hoping that the problem was not going to be the ROM.

Camera APP

Can someone recommend a great camera app for this phone? AOSP camera sucks, Google camera is decent but still not comparable to LG's one. Any suggestions?
My go to when running AOSP based ROMs is Snap Camera. Tons of features and options. Great camera app.
take a look at this one.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flavionet.android.camera.pro
tons of features and takes great pics
Thank you gentlemen.
Is it at all possible to make LG's camera work with an AOSP rom? It just seems to work so much better.

Yep. The only thing keeping me from jumping to AOSP roms. Can't deal with the poor camera on AOSP.
Found this in the Illusion G+ community. I flashed it on Cloudy v1.2 to see if it would also work on 4.4 KitKat Roms. It does. Haven't tested on Lollipop. As always a nandroid is recommended. I didn't clear cache or dalvik and no issues. Nor did I examine contents of this zip...I live dangerously lol. Simply sharing hoping to help out. I take no credit for this and will try to credit the source when I find it.
I'm not sure what version is posted already here, but here is a link to the motorola camera 5.0.7.1 version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-motorola-camera-5-0-7-1-material-t3007246
It was a 4.x.x.x version.
Snap camera def best. A bargain for 2 bucks!!!

I use Motorola camera 5.0.7.1 works the best I found. Just flash the zip and uninstalled the stock camera.

[Q] Possibility of AOSP ROM

Hey all,
Not a request, just curious: What's the likelihood of a Lollipop AOSP ROM being developed for this device in the near future? Or is anyone currently considering making one once Lollipop drops for our device?
