Hey everyone. Anyone have a headset/ear buds/earphones/whatever with a remote control that work for the ascend mate 2? I have tried a three button (volume -/+ and the single button) that worked on my note 2 and my nexus 5 that does not work with my HAM2. No response from any button and no luck with apps like headset button controller.
I know Bluetooth would work, but would like to avoid it, if possible. Thanks!
You might have luck if you try ones made specifically for Android devices, such as Samsung ones. I've tried Sony and Sol Republic earbuds and they're only fully compatible with Apple stuff.
Yeah, that's what I thought too. I bought some Samsung EO-EG900BW ear buds and have that same problem.... Just trying to avoid buying another one and hoping that it will work.
Bah.

I know this is a stupid question and I'm pretty sure that the answer would be no.
But, has anyone tried using a Nokia HS-45 headset with the Hero?
It would be sweet if it works.
I was going to get a HTC rc-e100, but i heard it was quite unstable on android phones and the e100 uses usb rather than the 3.5mm socket. So I'm putting my hopes up for the HS-45.
Cheers.
hs-45 headset from Nokia
I have the same problem ..... I want an Android application that will run for hs-45 headset from Nokia and in answer to your question ... no it does not work on Android phones or iPhone. asking the smart guys on the site ........HELP................. an app to read electrical impulses from the audio jack ... and you can choose settings for these pulses (volume, forward / backward, play / pause, etc.) has something to do with multiplex coding, can someone make the Nokia headset to go on android? we all love smartphones and music ... and a headset with that many features would be great
any solution on this problem?
Hi,
I recently got my Galaxy Tab. Having around an Apple wireless keyboard and a Magic Mouse, I decided to give them a try with the tab (I know it is a little ironic to use those two together given the legal war that is going on between the two companies ).
The keyboard worked perfectly (it paired and connected at first try).
The mouse also paired and connected at first try, but it just doesn't work. I am not getting a cursor, as it happens on my gf's GT P1000.
Anyone ever tried or made it work with an apple mouse or any other bluetooth mouse? Any ideas or workarounds? Thanks!
Regards,
Marius
Yes,...it works fine
I have a the Kensington Slimblade BT mouse and it works fine. This maybe a bit old technology, since I have it more than a year (using it also on my laptop)
I also have the small Apple BT keyboard - and it also works....sort-of. Sometimes te keys seems to get stuck and since it is created for the Apple envirnment, there are some 'dead keys' and some options missing.
I use my Dell compact BT mouse with no issues. I also use a Logitech diNovo keyboard. The two BT devices almost turn my GTab into a mini desktop.
The Apple Magic Mouse won't work...this is a known issue. It will pair but that's it.
The Apple Bluetooth Keyboard works fine with the 10.1. I've had no problems and like using it.
I've had no problems with Mircosoft's 5000 Bluetooth mouse pairing and operating the Tab. It makes for a great remote control!
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
I have a similar issue. I bought a Speedlink Snappy SL-6158 Bluetooth mouse for approx 10 dollar and was thrilled to see it work on my Galaxy S3, so I thought it would work on my Tab2 as well. Wrong thinking. It paires just fine, but it will not show a cursor and does not react on the buttons.
Is there any solution for this problem, or did I just wasted 10 bucks?
I use a cheap bt mouse I got eBay and works fine here too...

Could you tell me what type of mouse this is?
And can anybody tell me if this can be solved by rooting and using a custom rom?
Does anyone know which earphones with controls and mic work on the Droid.razr?

I have a crappy pair of skullkandy headphones, the ones with inline mic with 1 button (play/pause,answer/hangup), and they work fine.
iPhone headphones work only for sound, mic and remote are not compatible

Thanks, I have the htc headphones from when I had my EVO. I'm trying to find a pair that works.

I have a pair of nuforce; the best bet is to go to a site like amazon and skim the reviews to see if anyone has success with an andriod device.
I'm not aware of any headset with three button controls that work on Android phones. All single button headsets I've owned and tried have worked fine though.
Here's a link to a site I sometimes use to buy headphones from, with a direct link to headsets with mics and button controls. Unfortunately, many of them are made specifically to only work with Apple products, but like I mentioned, all single button headsets should work properly.

Even though their products tend to be overpriced, I currently use and recommend the Bose MIE2s. I also own the Klipsch S4s and enjoy their sound. There is a mobile version that's made specifically for Android phones as well.

I will check them out thanks. My old 3 button iPhone earphones used to work on my Android without a problem. This is the first time I've had a problem with the controls not working.

Has anyone come across a working pair off earphones with mic and controls?

I don't have a link, but I know Klipsch S4A have the ability. They are made specifically for the android platform..... most of their gear is sold at best buy, but my local one doesn't carry them. Go to www.klipsch.com for more info.

Normally for music I use AudioTechica, which does not have a mic and control..
But if you want one, try the new Phillips O'neil branded "Specked"..
there are 2 versions though, one with Mic and one without....
With Mic version cost around 30 euros over here, but in US maybe it is cheaper....
It also provides an Adaptor which you could use for Nokia/Samsung mobiles...so it is a complete package....

But I sais in the manual: "must use with klipsch app for proper function" and that's perhaps not what people might want. And it only has 1 button for all controls..
Rocketfish Bluetooth headphones. Work great and all the controls are on the left headphone.$59.99 at best buy. One of the best purchases i have ever made. Heres a few photos to give you an idea of what they look like.

A few more detailed shots of the controls.

I personally use either my V-MODA REVAMP headphones or my Sennheiser IE8i (A fairly high end IEM BTW) headphones. Both of the mics work, but the buttons on the IE8i don't work so hot because it's iPhone proprietary buttons.
my blackberry headphones used to work well on BB and on HTC Desire S.
by working well, I mean 1 press answer/end the call, long press redials the last number
when in music player, a press on the same button is pause/play.
on RAZR so far only long press works for redial of last number. short press activate voice commands, and play/pause simply does not work. Any idea how to revert to "normal"?

Well the working of the controls is strictly dependent on the interface chip used.... in that case, one particular control might not be completely useful into another phone..
Hence the new days headphones have minimalistic controls only.... and they do mention which phones it can be used with.....
the headphones with larger repertoire of controls are mainly bluetooth , since bluetooth is an open standard...

Oh I agree completely, don't get me wrong
I prefer headphones with 1 button only and was referring to this type in my previous post...
I was hoping to find out here which headphones with 1 button will allow me to pause/play by pressing that button, since I am used to this already on 2 of my previous phones (1 BB + 1 Android)

The "LG Tone - HBS-700" are fantastic and do everything perfectly with my SGP 5.0.
I can't recommend them strongly enough.
You can buy a Jabra Clipper and use the headphones of your choice.
The Samsung HS3000 Clipon is available at Amazon, It comes with an above average set of ear buds, but you may substitute your own.

I love mine. Bought 2 pair so I'm never without a set due to charging.
Does anyone know if the motorola s305 is compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 ?
I want to buy one, but I don't know about its compatibility.
Thanks in advance.

Most BT headsets are compatible. You can always return them if you don't like them.

As said above, most bluetooth handsets are compatible, just make sure your using the gingerbread FW on your player as the ICS/JB FW have no bluetooth and there isnt a fix yet (i think)
Avantalk goes fine
I enjoy my Galaxy player 4.0 with my Avantalk Jogger bluetooth headset and it goes fine. The only detail is that the realplayer app won't recognize the back/forward buttons, but that's all. In my opinion these wireless earphones sound pretty well, as good as the nokia's. Although this tablets have 3.0 BT, these can pair with these 2.0 headsets (or whatever) automatically.
In short, the Jogger plays cool xD
With my player I used LG HBS-700 BT headset and the controls worked great for back/forward etc etc.
The only thing I couldn't do was connect a BT keyboard no matter how many different ones I tried out while other people with the same player could connect keyboards without issue.

Should be any normal headphones
Any Bluetooth 3.0 Headphones should work, you don't really have to custom make them for different devices.
Re
I use the Plantronics M25 with my Galaxy Player.
ok i DID search the forums before i posted this , but couldnt find an answer.
I have 2 nokia headsets with me , one of them being the AD-54
these have been my favourite headphones owing to the remote interface and the face that i can puy my favorite earplug with the all the controls and mic.
What i want to know is that is there a way that i can use these with android 2.3.5 ?
I have motorola fire Xt 530
Thanks.
Ok. So in my bt headphone, all i have to do is detect it and pair with the device. Try to do it.

But the headphones are not bluetooth mate , they are wired ones
Anyone with anything one this??? Surely other people must be using their different button headsets with android...
I've been trying to get it to work with my SkyRocket and ICS and no dice.
Using Jays's Headset control it does not even detect the button clicks
Damn, I would like to know that too..I have the same controller that came with my Nokia N85.

I think you have to buy an adapter that reverses pins 3 and 4
pin 3 is ground and 4 is signal
the little adapter cable makes 3 the signal and 4 the ground
i didnt buy the cable because i already had a 1 button remote that works so i kept that
