so i wanted to ask how can i remove this bezel,as i thought to remove it sand it & then paint it chrome again
& also suggest me is my idea good or not
no rplys? atleast tell me hw can i remove those scratches & dents
i wanna know this too since i just dropped mine today and its a fairly small chip but i still get a little crazy over it
please help us out
Sorry for bad news but to remove the bezel you'll need to fully dissassemble your TP2. You'll have to dismantle the main housing to unscrew hinges. Once you separate the upper part with LCD you'll be able to open it, and then separate the bezel from LCD and digitizer. I've done it myself couple of times but be aware that is not a 5 minute job (especially if you're new to this). You'll need tools - small philips screwdriver, small star screwdriver an special plastic prying tool (couple of them, they get broken easily, you don't have to use them but you'll most likely scratch the phone). You can get tool sets on ebay. Word of advice - if only possible try not to separate LCD and digitizer. Once you get dust and/or fingerprints between them it's a HELL of a job to get rid of them.
Check out mike channon's site for dissassembly guide.
Good luck guys!
EDIT: Personally, I would rather try to do some touch-up repairs without opening the phone if possible.
touch up repairs like what? suggest me something specific
I want to replace my screen and bezel but don't mind stripping the whole phone down if thats what is needed.
Try this link http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pdacenter.ru%2Frazborka%2Fhtc_touch_pro2%2F&sl=ru&tl=en&hl=en&ie=UTF-8
As mentioned by pjm77 this does not look easy, and chances are if your not very careful you could mess up your phone.
By touch up I mean trying to paint the damage to make it less visible. Can't really say if that's possible in your case - judge for yourself. Dissassembling the whole phone is by all means possible, I was able to do it several times and I'm just an enthusiast. Just bear in mind that unless you're really skillfull and experienced you end up with a little damage here and there (clips broken, scratches etc.), it's time consuming and there is a risk of serious damage. In the end you may just put a lot of effort into it and be a little disappointed with the final result. But maybe not, it's up to you. Whatever your decision is - good luck!
EDIT: To be more specific I'll give you the real life example of touch-up. I had an awful, long and deep scratch on the back of my LCD (you can see that black, metal part when you slide out the keyboard). I took the masking tape and precisely shaped it in a way that only the scratch was visible (I'd say less than 0,5 of mm wide). Then I took a black paint (originally for my mother's renault) and painted the scratch. Aftrer half an hour I removed the masking tape. The repair is not perfect in any way, the scratch is still there if you know where to look. But I just never noticed it again and simply forgot about it until today.
I used a touch up pen from Staples that has metallic ink. It was a Silver Pilot Pen with Fine Point tip. Like pjm said, touch up paint isn't going to make it look perfect, but the scuffs on the chrome bezel are less noticeable. The ink is a little lighter than the chrome but makes the black cuffs disappear and is nice because you can get small marks with the fine point. I think it was $2.99.
Hey guys...i was wondering if any of you guys had this problem.
the glass (which feels like cheap plastic) on the front of the device bends and flexes a lot when i apply just a little pressure...it makes those weird dark circles (you know on lcd screens).
The whole glass just feels like cheap plastic form a $100 tablet or something...i expected more form gorilla glass
BTW: this is the new model with the preloaded TW UX and the Samsung logo on the bottom (something changed maybe)
The gorilla glass on my captivate won't flex AT ALL no matter how much pressure i apply...this is just like plastic..
RANT!!
sorry i just want to know if this is normal or not
i expect more from a $500 tablet.
You have heavy hands that's the problem.. Why would you press down so hard to bend the glass anyway? I guess the next step is dropping it a few times and seeing if it holds up.
/rant
no i'm not trying to do any of that...i'm just wondering why the glass changed from the original galaxy tab 10.1 (the once that shipped without TW) and the new one's glass..
the stock 3.1 one feels a lot more sturdy..the new one feels like plastic.
you can just hear it when you tap on the screen ( no pressure ) just tapping...it sound hollow
(I just make a big deal out of these things..i hated HP build quality so much i switched to a mac just for the quality (i still run windows))
BTW: i made it pretty clear...not pressing HARD..just a little pressure..it bends a ton.

Nope, the problem is your hands need to go on a diet.

I have to apply a fair bit of pressure to replicate your problem on mine , So I would say if your simply resting your hand on the screen not pressing, just resting and its bending I would either say you have some heavy hands or there's something not right with it. Possibly go somewhere where there is one on display and try it and see if it's the same.
For what its worth I wouldn't compare a cell phone with 4.5 inch screen to a tablet with a 10.1 inch one. Engineering wise the stresses involved in applying the same amount of force to the center of each are completely different, its simple physics really. Samsung tried to beat out the iPad with these, compromises were made and the galaxy tab screen spans a full inch longer with slightly narrower bezels and lighter construction.
The screen on my tab also feels very plastiky, but all samsung devices are like that, they all have super lousy build quality. Too bad they aint HTC, i like their unibody design, feels super solid.

I also have the Samsung logo on bottom and while I can't say anything about the feeling of the glass (have a screen protector installed) it definitely doesn't bend like yours. I applied a fair amount of pressure in the middle (and other spots) and never saw any of the dark circles similar to LCD screens.
I would go to the store and try it out on the models that are on display, then proceed by sending some emails to whatever store you bought it from. Doesn't seem normal to me that you would get problems even with gently tapping a touch screen device ...
So apparently I lent the tablet to my sister to get the hang of it (I know what they say about women and technology) but yeah soon to regret, After cleaning up and making the screen all shiny I noticed a rather long 1" scratch on the screen, I thought it was something that a little damp cloth can wipe off turns out it's actually scratched the screen. I've never dropped the tablet but I can't say the same when women handle it (No offense ladies, if ever)
I wouldn't mind if the sides got dented, but that 1" of deep scratch shattered my heart to pieces. So question is, I thought the glass was GorillaGlass, dafuq samsung? I've had a 3Gs for almost a year or more, and there isn't a single dent/scratch on that screen despite the heavy usage on it, same with my 8 month old Galaxy S.
They say it's Gorilla Glass, but what's that really mean?
Just wondering if she wears any rings, such as diamonds? Maybe it got dragged across the screen. Just a thought or do you know what caused it already?
Really sorry to hear, cause I would be going nuts about it. Not at her per say, but just having that scratch would make me nuts.
Just another quick thought. If it was for her to get used to, I would ask for hers before she scratches it. Surely have yours convinced her she can't live without her own.
If you can read this it was sent using my GT-P7510.

*grumble. the thanks button is way too close to the quote button....
It's gorrilla glass, but unfortunately, it's made of glass, not gorrillas. But yes, it's the same stuff as used in lots of consumer electronics. Ask Du Pont if you want more info. Scratch resistant, not scratch proof...

Yes, it's gorilla glass. Yes, it's resistant to scratches. No, it's not immune to them. It WILL get scratched if you chop your vegetables on it, it will get broken if you drop it from 2 meters, it will look like Swiss cheese if you shot at it with a minigun.
On a more realistic note, it can also get scratched by diamond rings, by putting it on the floor/table face-down, by pulling it in and out of a tight case if some sand somehow gets in the case, ...
Lending my device to other people is why I always have it in a case and why I have a screen protector on it.
If you're sure your sister is the one who made the scratch, and she is buying her own one, I'd ask her to trade the devices or something.
There are also some products around that claim they can remove scratches, but I don't have any experience with them.
Putting a screen protector on might just change the flow of light in a way that'll hide the scratch, but it can also do it in a way that'll make it even more visible/annoying. I believe The Invisible Shield was also said to be very good with hiding scratches, some people say that you can barely see any big scratches after it's on for a week or two. But again, no experience with that so I can't really say...

I'd love to put on a screen protector but it kinda kills the whole idea of "Gorilla Glass" I don't know if you watched the initial release before the 2G iPhone came out and they kept talking about how Gorilla Glass was one of the best inventions and so the praise went on, the had some live demo's and it was amazing (2 years ago). I don't really know if the glass on the tablet is not thick enough? or it's just a really thin glass pane? I do appreciate the feedback and thank you @slack for the free "thanks" hahaha, then again I too have a leather case (for the 7510 series) but people often mistake it for "ZOMG IS DAT AN IPAD?" and that disappointment on apple sheeps when you tell them it's a Galaxy Tab, they go like, "what's that?"..*FLIP TABLES AND *****
Putting on a protective screen is like wearing a condom while attempting to get a woman knocked up or better yet, giving a bulletproof vest to a tank, Best example I could think of so far, sorry . I'm not dissing android but putting on screen protects kinda adds another layer at which the device makes it harder to read your "touch" or electric impulses are they call it, I had one that came free with my initial Galaxy S and it was horrible, worst thing ever. Touch was less responsive and you had to press it hard enough like them old school vending machines.

Yes, I've watched a lot of stuff about gorilla glass, but I've also done some live testing at my university (we got a batch of pieces to compare it to normal glass). I even have the specific results somewhere ...
All in all yes, it's a great improvement. It is seriously resistant to scratches, it's much much (and I mean MUCH) harder to break, but still, it isn't perfect.
I wouldn't say your bulletproof vest - tank example is completely appropriate here, since a bullet shot at a tank wouldn't compromise the tanks usability (at least not mostly, there are some extreme cases when it might, but let's leave that stuff to Hollywood) - but a scratch on the screen of a tablet definitely would. And a screen protector does help against scratches from diamond rings.
I have an Ultra Crystal SGP and I haven't noticed the screen responsiveness to lower. The only thing that is bad about it is that it gets dirtier faster and seems to reflect light a bit more. I also don't have to press any harder then I had to without the protector, as soon as I touch it (actually a little bit before ) the touch is recognised. If you feel your screen responsiveness diminishes, you can also applications to raise the "touchscreen sensitivity".
Thanks for the feedback mate, once again
I might think about getting one of those "Armor" screen protectors. Hopefully when sharing the tablet among family or friends I can atleast be assured the tablet is safe.
Diamond ring would do it if someone brushed the screen with back of their hand

Disagree, Mate, I have a Zagg protector and a case as well. For the expense of a 32GB 10.1, I'm not about to risk damage. Other poster is right: it is made of glass afterall not gorillas.
Also, like another thing best kept covered; there's very little loss of sensitivity when its covered.
Don't be penny wise and pound foolish.
Cheers lads!
Im usually not a fan of screen protectors on my phones but when i bought my tab at best buy they had the zagg invisibleshield for $15. It wasnt easy to put on and it looked pretty bad at first but once it dried out It pretty much disappeared. I dont even notice it anymore. A 10" screen is bound to get scratched up. Im glad i did it.
I got a scratch on my screen, and It had to be a scratch because I couldn't wipe it off even with a few different cleaners.
A few months later - the scratch is gone!!!
Yes, I'm saying it healed itself. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I have a scratch that just appeared on my Tab... I am the only one who uses it, and I keep it in a cover, didnt put the screen just to get mad, ordered one today..., 1 question: is it realy Gorila GLASS?, I dont think so!

Having a screen protector does defeat the purpose of the gorilla glass. However, I would rather have that extra measure of protection and just replace the screen protector every few months.
I wonder how much does a replacement screen cost from the local showrooms?

i use a screen 'protector' but really it is more of an anti glare filter

Used to have an invisibleSheild on an older phone but I hated the feel of the thing. Feels rubery, very unpleaseant!
I don't know for other brands but I'd realy go for something that repels the finger prints... I always have to clean the thing :|

I was about to say that, as good as it protects, it's more like a condom on the phone, a dry one.
What ticks me off about it is when you sweat through your jeans the whole screen becomes a mess and the phone (The one I had it on) could barely read my touch.
Hey guys! I've got a bit of a problem, all of the sudden really small dents are starting to appear on the screen of the device, they are almost unnoticeable but they are certainly there.
I haven't done anything such as dropping it to the floor, mixing it with keys or coins in the past days. Just being in the pocket! On Friday I had two scratches, today i have four!! They are not deep and they are not dirt.
It seemed such a strong device! about four months ago I accidentally dropped it onto the sidewalk and then to the asphalt of the street and it was intact!
Anyone has had this problem before? Do you think Nokia would take care of it for free, since It hasn't been an accident?
Oh well, I knew this would happen at some point. The scratch free curved screen was to good to be true lol.
The screen is very strong, I stopped using a screen protector more than 3 months ago and even a few big drops haven't damaged it. However even the Gorilla Glass can suffer some wear and tear: micro scratches will start to appear from time to time, but at least in my case they're very faint, and you won't be able to see them unless you look very closely and at a certain angle against some strong light. To me this is really irrilevant, and honestly it doesn't make me go back to a screen protector: the screen will still be totally pristine compared to the look and feel of whatever screen protector you may have. I'll check back in a few months or so to see how it fares, but so far so good. I'd still be using one if those amazing real glass ones were available for this phone, but going for anything less than that would feel like a complete waste and a major downgrade to me right now. Obviously if you have to deal with sand on a daily that's a different story, but not my case at all.
How about those scratches you have, are they deep? Can you feel them with a fingernail? Otherwise (if you simply got those ones I described above) I guess it's pretty common wear and tear, even for a Gorilla Glass, and you probably shouldn't worry too much about it. We're men after all, we're not supposed to be so OCD with our things after all IMHO
I tried cleaning the dust from in between my I9300's screen and bezel with a paper and got 2 bits of paper stuck in there. I've tried everything but can't seem to get them out for the life of it. It actually looks like they've gone under the screen? Is that even possible? I'm dreading the sight of my phone now because I'm very OCD about such stuff. Also, the dust doesn't seem to want to go with paper or a tooth brush? What's up with that?
ANY help would be highly appreciated.
Thank you!
My first suggestion is don't listen to anyone that suggests using sticky tape, this will leave sticky residue.
You could try cutting the bits of paper away with razor blade, but really I think a measure of perspective is needed here.
Have you tried a blast of compressed air to try clearing dust?
Also I suspect that the bonding between screen layers doesn't extent to the very edges, and so it may be possible that the dust has got between the layers at the very edges.
Most important though is to try and focus on something else more joyous and appreciate your luck in simple being able to afford to own such a device.
Indeed. I am thankful. However, I would really want this fixed.
Doesn't blowing air send the dust under the screen?
Thanks.
If your not happy and can live without your phone for a week send it off to be repaired.
My suffers from the same bad dust problem around the edges, I intend after the New Year to get it sent off to be sorted, not because the dust actually bother me much, more because of it resale value when it comes to the time to sell it on.
S1 & the S2 never suffered this problem, but there seems to be a few S3's that do.
Edit
Also if you do manage get shut of it it will only return again.
