Am I the only obsessed with buying cases? - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Am I the only one? I just got the 6 today and already I'm obsessed with finding more cases and seeing which one will catch my eye.. I had like 6 or 7 for my 5S so I'm thinking this won't be any different.

Great looking case, and 31% discount from Fortte

Hi all:
I finally found a great looking case http://www.fortte.com/scr/showproduct.php/1111?type=0 . It is made by Fortte. Unfortunately I can't afford it (wish I could ), but I thought I'd pass it on to you guys in case someone is looking. I also received a coupon code for 31% off on any order. Code is Spooktacular, and is valid til 11/9.
PS: This case is VERY cool also http://www.fortte.com/scr/details-1130/HTC Touch Pro 2.html
They also have the standard vertical and horizontal cases.
great looking case
It's too bad, I just ordered the Maya II last night. I would have gotten this one instead.
Yeah, I thought it looked very cool. I have been searching for a nice case since before I even got my Tilt 2. Sadly I lost my job last week, so I won't be buying this case; as it is I probably shouldn't have splurged on the Tilt 2, but I got a very good deal and had been wanting it for so long I couldn't help myself.
Not bad, I do agree that it is a bit pricey.
I bought the clear plastic case from the a&t store but returned it the following day because the built in screen protector would stick to the screen when using showing a horrible "puddling" effect. Hopefully some more cases at least variety of them, are in the works. I am a bit timid only having the oem screen protector on my phone atm.

[Q] Bestbuy Cases?

Anyone go by Bestbuy to see if they have cases yet?
None on the website so I would doubt if any are in store.

I bought a Spigen slim armor case on ebay for like 25 bucks last week and I got it a few days before my N6 arrived. I havent found any retailers in town that have ANY accessories for it yet. Best buy blows anymore with Mobile.....they just dont care anymore, so I didnt even waste my time.
unless you have an iPhone or a Samsung s5, you'll need to shop online for a case.
Got what seemed like the last Nexus 6 in my town on Saturday. Went all over trying to find a case, but it seems like most stores either don't carry them or people buy them before even getting the phone. Ended up ordering a Spigen slim armor on Amazon.

I was able to go in to a T-Mobile store and buy a clear case for the phone. I'm pretty sure it's the same case listed on the Google Play store.

Verizon Shell/Holster KICKSTAND case ?!!

Used the VZW shell/kickstand/holster case for my previous two phones (G2 / Note 3) and loved it.
Was waiting...hoping VZW would put one out for the N6 once they started to carry it, and it looks like they have:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/accessories/shell-holster-combo-with-kickstand-for-nexus-6/
Anybody seen one or tried it to verify it actually fits? I for sure want one if it fits.
It fits.
Haven't ordered my Nexus 6 yet, but I'm looking at this one on Amazon for when I do. Looks similar and cheap enough to buy one and try it out.

It will work just fine. But why would you spend $30 on such a cheap case? If you're going to get a cheap case with a kickstand, get it from Amazon. This one looks really solid and comes only in black with a lifetime warranty and is only $8! This other one also comes with a lifetime warranty but comes in 4 different colors and it's $12! If it says that it's for the Nexus 6, it'll work on any Nexus 6, no matter where you buy it. :good:

I think you quoted the wrong person. I'm saying I'm going to try the $8 one first, and I saw the $12 one that you linked as well, and I'd try that one second. All before shelling out $30 from Verizon.

I can tell you from past experience that those cases look just like the shell combo Verizon offers but the quality isn't the same. I had both the Verizon brand and ones from Amazon on my m8 and note 3 the Verizon shell is always better. The ones from Amazon never provide a decent lip(lay on table clearance for screen), and the holster for the Amazon ones always break super easy unlike the one from Verizon. I hate overpaying for cases at carrier stores but in this case (pun intended lol) it is a difference, I've noticed on two of my past phones.
Thanks for the comments and the links!
I get a very good discount on accessories and stuff at Verizon through a "deal" with my employer so it's just a couple dollars more expensive than the Amazon cases.
I have this case and it offers absolutely no protection. I shattered my screen the 1st time it fell (2days) I just ordered a trident aegis for the new one when it gets here.

Sorry to hear - I had the similar Verizon case for both my Droid Incredible and Galaxy S III, but went with more protection for the latter, then decided to go with a dual-layer case/holster combo for the Nexus 6 due to its bulk.
IMHO, less is not more when it comes to Nexus 6 protection.

Actually I was hoping that since Verizon now has the Nexus, Otterbox would build a Defender for us..hell Verizon f#cked up the Xperia Z3 into the Z3v and Otterbox built a Defender for it(even though its plain with no design whatsoever). Now that Verizon has the 6 you'd think they would have enough of a demand for the Defender...I have the Unicorn Beetle case and I miss the full silicone skin that the OB has...oh well, rant over.

if you like the otterbox, check out ballistic tough maxx. use the code Terry30 for free shipping and 30%/$15 discount. ordered the tough jacket maxx a little while ago was $49.99 cost $34.99 shipped with the code. the case is great, had it fall out of my jeep with 6 inches of lift onto the pavement and survived without a single scratch. far better than the otterbox i had on my last phone
Ordered this CellJoy case in "red": http://www.amazon.com/CellJoy-X-Hatch-Motorola-Holster-Kickstand-/dp/B00SXF5O3W/
But when it arrived it was not even close to the vibrant red color as in the photo on Amazon. It was a dark maroon color, same as Texas A&M colors. Not bad if you are an Aggie fan, but not good if you are LSU.
My main issue is with the kickstand. The Kickstand is offset too far to the side for the large N6 so that it is very unstable when propped up in landscape. The kickstand on the CellJoy was also cumbersome to deploy and not as smooth as when I had the Verizon variant on my previous phone.
My Verizon version case/holster is tough to remove from the holster. Any tips to getting it out easier? Does it loosen a bit over time?

New Lower Price on OtterBox Defender Series for Tab Pro (8.4)

Hey Guys
Don't know if you've seen this but Amazon has the Otterbox case for around $20.00. Last time I checked it was around $50.00 so it's a good time if you like this brand. I'm considering buying it since my Tab Pro goes everywhere with me, it currently lives inside a GraphGrip by Poetic but I wouldn't mind a little more protection.

Just Ordered Gun Metal Zenwatch 2 (Steel Band)

Hello,
So I just ordered a Zenwatch 2 as a Christmas present for myself. I originally bought a Fossil Q Founder. I figured with the Intel Processor and 1GB of ram it would be more future proof. I didn't like it though. It didn't fit / feel right on my wrist. The flat tire seemed worse in person than I thought it would and it doesn't have an internal speaker for future use. (Thank you Android Police, for saying it had a speaker, which it does not)
I am pretty stoked! The Zenwatch 2 is my first smart watch if you don't count my 1 day with the Fossil Q Founder. I went with the all Gun Metal (Black) Stainless Steel version. I think it looks really sharp and sleek. I like how the steel band clasps together. I also ordered the brown leather band which has the metal clasp as well. ($24.99 from Asus) I was originally going to buy the Gun Metal / Brown Leather version from Best Buy for $150 and then just order the metal band later on. I ended up saving this way though. I got the Gun Metal Stainless Steel version from BH Photo for $199 shipped (No sales tax). The band individually cost $60.
Best Buy has the Zenwatch 2, Huawei Watch, LG Watch Urbane, and Moto 360 (2nd gen) all on display in store. I was able to try on all of them. I didn't like the flat tire on the Fossil so obviously the 360 was out from the beginning. I like the look of the LG, but it did not feel right on my wrist at all. Either did the Huawei watch. The Zenwatch 2 fit and felt the best out of all of them! If they had the display (Gun Metal / Brown Leather) in stock I probably would of bought it as I am impatient, then just ordered the black metal band separately and pay a little extra all said and done. They were out of stock though. This is one of the only times that I like / prefer the cheaper item. lol. I originally went to Best Buy with the intent to purchase the Huawei Watch, replacing my Fossil Q Founder. I just liked the design and feel of the Zenwatch 2 more. I can't believe it is only $130 rubber, $150 leather, $200 metal. Such a good deal!
UPDATE:
I ended up returning the Zenwatch 2. I just really don't like the large bezels around the display. It also had a stuck pixel near the center of the display. (Neon Green) If the Zenwatch 2's entire watch face was all display, I would have LOVED it and just did an exchange due to the stuck pixel. I ended up buying the Huawei Watch for $309 shipped, free overnight shipping and no sales tax from BH Photo Video. I received it yesterday and I love it! I'm not trash talking the Zenwatch 2 though at all. I still think it is a great smart watch, especially for the $130 / $150 / $200 price tag.
I had the ZenWatch 2 for about two weeks before trading up to the Hauwei. I loved the ZenWatch 2. I highly recommend it. I was just telling someone that the fit is great. I like the curve of the screen and how it wrap around your wrists. The price is awesome too.
The ONLY reason why I swapped for the Hauwei, well 2 reasons. Me and another dev screwed up our system partitions gaining root and pulling partition backups for TWRP (the thread is here somewhere). They weren't bricked but it was refusing updates. So I planned on going back to swap it but they were out (after Thanksgiving rush) and they had the Hauwei on sale plus I have 10% off.
I kept the Hauwei just because I came from the LG G Watch (square) and the ZW2 felt like great upgrade, but it didn't "feel" different. That could be a good or bad thing because the LG G Watch is also a awesome device but I just wanted to SEE the investment. The round screen helped that. The only thing is the smaller battery but neither have issues getting through a day.
Plus only the ZW2 and Hauwei watch have speakers for the upcoming update (speaker phone!)
I had the GunMetal gray version of the ZW2 and I bought the Steel version of the Hauwei. Both great. I do have a hard time justifying the price of the Hauwei (since they work exactly the same), but I like it. My ex said she liked the "square" watches better. But I still have my LG G Watch too... so...

I just got the ZenWatch 2 a couple weeks ago. I like it a lot and probably won't get another for awhile, but if I do, I'm going for the Huawei. Out of curiosity, is the display on the Huawei any better than the ZW2?

My wife just got me a smartwatch for Christmas. I gave her the choice between the zenwatch 2 or the Huawei watch. She picked the Huawei watch and I am loving it. I did try the zenwatch 2 on at best buy. I think I would have been happy with that too

The Huawei has a 1.4" AMOLED Display with 286 PPI. The Asus ZW2 has a 1.63" AMOLED Display with 278 PPI. The Huawei may appear a little nicer. Not so much because of the slightly higher PPI, but because of the fact that it is a smaller display so it will be more dense.
