HI,
i've a s6 edge since 17th April 2015.
The screen had to be replaced because it appeard a micro fiber dust between the screen and the glass.
Both screen and frot glass replaced and the phone was ok. this happened 15 days ago.
Today i'm noticing that the screen in unresponsive to touch. If I want to tap something it doesn't do nothing, and I've to tap 4/5 times to see some response.
This happens all over the screen. Even 'Back' and 'windows' key dont work properly.
No recent apps installed.
I've Shutdown the phone 3 times.
Anyone with the same symptom?
ok, just me then..
bad luck.. going to service ... again..

Recently my touchscreen has been acting up on me. Sometimes it will either lock up completely and ill just press power 2x to get it to work again. other times stuff will randomly start to open or if its on the home screen the phone will switch pages left and right at a very high rate of speed the screen almost looks like its flickering.
this just started yesterday, ive ran 2 antivirus apps on the phone and both say its clean so i doubt its a virus, im not sure if its hardware or software related, im thinking about doing a re-flash, but i have a feeling that might not fix the issue..
has anyone else encountered this problem? it can get annoying at times cause it almost stops me from using the phone completely.
Edit: I would also like to note, i thought it was the screen protector i had on, but i took it off and the screen is still acting up
I had this happen last night after I installed a screen protector I got from eBay (they were $4 for 10 with free shipping). I'm guessing it was something in the glue because as soon as I took it off, the phone went back to normal. It always seemed to be 'pressing' in the same spot because I was trying to send a text and it kept popping up with a menu about the contacts info. Also, when that would pop up, the capacitive buttons at the bottom (menu, home, back and search) wouldn't work so I had to lock the phone and unlock it to gain control.

Did any water get in the phone?
i have same problem and make me shock,
my motorola have anti glare screen guard
while iam eat chicken soup and play mini plan , i didnt notice if my finger are wet couz of soup, meanwhile i notice that at that time the touch screen are still good i can play the game, so i quickly try to clean it up using tissue , while i try clean up my phone keep pressing like crazy so i stop to clean it but it keep pressing like crazy, event i have already out from the game, i cannot stop it, so i must pull out the battery and put it back,
i think Atrix the touch screen are too unstable , compare with milestone milestone is better but it's less sensitive then atrix
it normal again after pull out the battery and i clean it up
I never got any water inside the phone, only on the screen protector when applying it to the screen as directed in the instructions for the skinomi screen protector.
the screen protector has been on the phone for 2 months no issues. its only now i see this happening.
i removed the screen protector to see the issue still there.
i have done a factory restore with no changes
i downgraded to 1.52 with the random tapping still going.
i think it might be hardware related.
im going to bring the phone to an AT&T store for a swap
Hi,
I got a HTC Legend with a broken screen and digitizer.
I replaced the screen and digitizer without any problems.
I turned on the phone, and the screen went on and showed the android boot screen.
30 seconds later the screen went blank, and now it doesn't work.
It's like the screen displays white/black pixels every second ribbon
The phone still turns on and plays the "startup sound".
I have cheched the ribbon cables, but they all seem fine.
Is the screen broken or is it something else?
Any suggestions to what the problem is?
Thank you for your time
My Legend screen was cracked a few days ago after the phone fell, I was looking to get a new screen as well. Where did you get your replacement screen from? It looks like you got a faulty screen based on what you've said.
My screen was totally unresponsive after installing a screen protector using a mild detergent and water spray. This is an easy trick that allows you to position the new screen protector, then squeegee, and let dry 24 hours for a perfectly positioned dirt free screen protector installation.
So now the problem, my screen wouldn't respond to any touch. I immediately removed the screen protector thinking that was the problem, but it didn't help. I tried restarting, pulling the battery, drying with a hair dryer, and leaving it set over the floor heat register, trying to dry out any water that may have seeped in through the home button or speaker. Still, no response to touch.
I found this recommendation from the DROID Forum -
"Touchscreen not working at all (solved)" -
*** Yesterday I was navigating, when I touch the screen to activate an app, the touchscreen froze, I reset the cellphone a lot of times but still stuck, and also reset to factory settings and wipe data, not working, finally hours later of search I found the issue to be the digitizer, it is responsible for touch reactions of the screen, located in the superior left corner, the only thing you do is press for 5 seconds in that area and the screen working right again, I hope so this thread helps a many persons with this trouble. ***
So, I tried holding my finger over the top left extreme corner of the screen (the white part above the screen) for 5 seconds and it worked! I don't know if this was coincidence or what, just thought I share this info.
Many thanks to mikedomo from the DROID Forums
Hi!
My one month old S6 Edge fell down last week and the front glass broke. However I used the phone normally until today when I got the display replaced in a store. With an original out of the box display from Samsung. After that I noticed that the back and app key (the lowest touch buttons one the front) did not light up at all, although they did work. When I put the phone in the flip wallet cover it went dark and did not respond anymore. I could here it getting emails or phone calls but the screen kept black. I pushed Volume Down and Off buttons until it restarted, with normal screen (the touch buttons also lit up for a second) but after loading normally the screen went black again. If I took it out of the wallet cover it lit up, the two keys also lit up, but the keys did not work at all. Again forced restart. Without the wallet cover the phone starts normally and works except that the touch buttons stay black, but they work. The moment I insert it into the cover it goes black.
It must have something to do with the magnet sensor?!
I took it back to the store, the guy put back the brocken screen and it acted again the same. Then he ordered the USB Board (the part with the charging port) just in case he may have broken it himself but actually he doesn't know if that will help.
Do you have any idea??
Thanks!
Went to check time on phone but couldn't unlock. My notifications were sliding themselves and unlock animation was showing ghost touches. I tried to power off restart but couldn't select. Pulled the battery. All is fine.
This happend after setting up fingerprint knock code then removing, which might just be a coincidence. With or without case. No smeg on screen or hands.
Anyone experienced this?
Yes, twice. In my case, I unlocked the phone using the fingerprint sensor, and the home screen went crazy and started doing things on it's own. Had to remove the battery both times. Happened twice within a week of getting the phone, but haven't happened since.

I've had this happen a couple times. Usually when it's cold out and I've been exercising and my phone is on my pocket. In thinking it might be dimmer type of static from the stainless rails. Next time it happens I'm going to try to ground the rails on something.
Its happend two more times. These times I just pressed power button and waited a few mins and tried again, all is normal. Have a glass screen protector installed this time an slim tpu. Also after some time after walking in my pocket.
LG has this issue on all there flagships apparently. I had the problem on the G3, my G4 does it often, I have yet to have it happen on my V10 but I don't hold my breath.
