here we go. stock apps from Galaxy Tab 7.7 that working in our Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Fully working
- Myfiles: this version has hide/show hidden files function in setting.
- Game Hub: not sure how to use it.
- Alarm clock: nice Alarm warning (check your mini app tray)
- Social Hub
- Photo Editor
- Calendar (check your mini app tray)
- Email (check your mini app tray)
All with dark-grey background theme. See photos to compare.
Half working
- Task Manager: fc on "Download" and "Storage" menu
- Task Manager widget: tab on it will direct you to Task Manager app, resizing it will cause fc.
WARNING:
BACKUP YOUR ORIGINAL APPS FIRST BEFORE REPLACING WITH THESE APPS
You can do that by renaming the apps with .bak at the end.
These apps are deodexed.
INSTRUCTION:
1. Make sure you are on TW Rom. Stock Android 3.2/4.0 might not working.
2. Root Access needed (some apps need copy-paste method into system/app directory)
If someone need another apk to try, make a request, i will post here.

- i think it's new as it different from one that available in our rom. Check the screenshot.
Email (exchange.apk + memail.apk included).
- this one quite tricky. you need to clear cache & data first on original apps, then replace those with these one in system/app. otherwise fc will happen.
- memail.apk if you want email shortcut appear in your mini app tray.
find apk in attachment.
the 7.7 launcher would be nice. i would love to have that folder feature.

I replaced Phone.apk, so i does not force close on Tab 7500. But phone is not present on app, sms still work, but there is no dial pad. Can you please provide the following appshone_Util.apk, PhoneCrashNotifier.apk, PhoneErrService.apk

Unfortunately simple replacing Phone does not work. I got full P6800 ROM, so will try tonight to replace more than a phone and flash modem from it, to see if there any difference, but i think Samsung put something deep in lib, to disable call for 10.1 Tab

good luck! meanwhile i noticed all those apks also included in p7510 rom...not sure the purpose..
I guess we just have to wait for Galaxy 10.1 Tab 2 to be released to the market. It's pretty much the same hardware as Tab 10.1, but have ICS and dial included. So we can rip the rom and put it to the tab 10.1.

GT2(10.1) & GN10.1 will use sammy's processor not tegra. porting the rom into our tab will not be easy. samsung will update our tab with ics anyway...

Galaxy tab 2 (10.1) has 1ghz processor which i think isn't samsung processor

How can i clear the chache $ data first ?? I tried to copy de apk files in in system/app but is not working ??
go to setting>application>manage application. tap on email n exchange app, clear cache and data. sure it will wipe out all your email account.
u need to setup your account back. copy paste email/exchange.apk I post here into your system/app directory. reboot then setup your account.
if u don't have / need exchange account then leave exchange apk

Whoo!! Completely forgot my login details since my last android device of htc hero.
I am not able to install the calendar app, is this bcos im on stock 3.2 rom which is not rooted or anything?
If yes, is there any alternative way to get it running without rooting?
Interesting. I just reinstall Overcam 2.3.1 and email start FC when i trying to replay by pressing to invoke keyboard. Never happens before. Does anybody experience tha same thing. Used to works fine. I clean the cash, and put email back to system/app using root explorer. Was working fine on Overcome 2.3

Non-Samsung Gear Fit user here. I use it with a Nexus 5.
When I try to change the homescreen to a custom one, the device says "no app to crop image, on this device". I've tried using images sized perfectly to the GF resolution to no avail.
This leads me to believe that the fit is looking for the Touchwiz gallery first and foremost, regardless of image size.
I'm curious to know what the typical flow is for using custom photos and if any other non-Samsung GF user has had any luck in this arena.

I got the same problem with Sony Xperia SP
Did you manage to solve it using the Samsung Gallery APK? Where can I get that?
I'll try later, that evening if a LG G2 can handle the Samsung SecGallery2013.apk, try'd one time to move it to systemapps but got a parsing error.
Maybe i have to delete the LG Gallery.apk or a deodexed SecGallery.apk is requiered, etc,..... ?!?!

U will find Samsung gallery in all deodexed S4, or S5 Roms under: /system/priv-app (just open the zip file)
EDIT: managed to install Samsung gallery on deodexed firmware but fc's on start.

Did anyone get custom wallpapers working on non-samsung devices in the meantime?
Use watch styler for fit and it's ok. I have a LG G2 et never problem. Apk find on play store
Alternative
Did anyone find an alternative? the clocks is only in 12H and the clocks are not that pretty. Would editing the preinstalled skins in Watch styler?
I don't like Watch Styler clocks at all, and I'd like to see the week day under the clock, so that's why I think we need something to be able to change the wallpapers or backgrounds in our Gear Fit.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but you CANNOT. I've got a stock, (no root) Galaxy Note 3 and I've been trying a few different ways to install and/or push the apk to my phone. In my experience, it will not work unless you can manipulate the files while rooted.
Even though the other poster didn't really give you any sort of an answer at all, you could take his advice and look into one of the 3rd party messaging apps from the play store.
This is a list of s5 apps and mods and everything s5 related for the note 3 they could possibly help you with your s3 and also could help the guy above me

Odds are the Samsung messaging app is tied in to the framework somehow as well as KitKat so it's no wonder it wont work. Third party apps are your only option if you don't like the stock S3 one or Hangouts. Unfortunately they all have their pros and cons with ads being the main con in most of them. Go SMS used to be OK ad wise but now they force them on you in fake text messages, message list screen and a pop up on closing but it still has lots of options. I have tried Textra and Chomp and both feel clunky and weird to use.
How do I get modified emoticons in incoming messages with stock message app? I see original, green smileys.

I have the AT&T edition and it came with AT&T's Messages app. It is ok, but I hate the colors. I was just wondering if Samsung actually had an app on here and AT&T removed it and replaced it with theirs.
and yes, I know I can download many. I use google Messenger as well. I was just wanting to see what Samsung had that went with the phone.

Anyone know if the Gear Fit 2 will work with a phone that is rooted. I have read that the Gear app that is needed for Gear Fit 2 will not work if it sees that the phone is rooted.

I installed the Gear Manager app from the play store on a A500FU with custom 6.0.1 ROM.
I tried using suhide - did not help, detected the phone as rooted
Also tried using Xposed v85 and rootcloak module, did not work either
any ideas?
I just rooted my new S8+ and when I installed the samsung gear I get an Notice saying that the phone's OS been modified in an unauthorized way and it's not compatible with the samsung gear app. Anyone experienced the same issue? Is there a way to go around so I can connect my gear fit 2 to my S8+? Thank you

i rooted my galaxy s6 edge and put an other rom and i also have the problem with the phone's OS been modified in an unauthorized way and it's not compatible with the samsung gear app.

I was able to get it to work and get notifications, but S-Health wouldn't work. Funny though because it works on non Samsung phones. I've been experimenting with Open Fit, but so far, I'm not happy with it.

Hi there. I manage to make it work also shealth. I had to go to build.prob and rename anything that says samsung to htc and now it works fine

This isn't the file in root is it? I have no Samsung entries in that file. I'm going to check the Samsung.apks and see what in them.

yes its on root what i change was ro.product.brand=htc and ro.product.manufacturer=htc
btw i have Ressurection Remix ROM
