hey guys,
so I got the Lollipop update in my LG G2 Mini, just one "minor" detail. It drains the battery like super-fast. Previously it would easily live two days with moderate usage, now just a bit of connecting to wi-fi send few messages and it's already 88%
is somebody experiencing that too?
thanks!
After about half month I just noticed that too. Even in deep sleep my battery life is bad. But in my case that can be caused by swap script. It isn't effective. Today I just disabled swap partition and we'll see

I am also a new S3 user (migrated from an Iphone), and have been plagued with the battery issue. However, I have come to realize that you can't have everything with charging twice a day. You need to turn off the GPS, and set the WIFI to go to turn off when the Phone is in standby. I have also turned on the Power Savings menu, but will do tests to see if that is really needed. So far 30% Discharge in 5 hours....
Here is a link to a guy listing all his settings ( http://www.samsunggalaxys3forum.com...ttings-worth-try-those-poor-battery-life.html ).... Experiment and make your own call. Unfortunately, you have to be very aware what you have turned on... or at least that has been my experience after the last few days...
Facebook is known to cause some battery drain. Anyway, you should install BetterBatteryStats (search the foruns, there's a huge topic about it). BBS will give you precious information about what is using your battery and how much it's using it.
Nevermind what I said... 4 hours today with "normal" usage and I am at 45%. The S3 is a battery hog compared to the Iphone.
I installed this morning bbs, ill post the prinČ› screen when i got my battery empty. An update i just bought a 4300 mili ampers battery and i still cant get the Stats from other members even with this.
I forgot to say GPS is off all the time aswell and wifi only when i need IT.

I don't think Your issue is software-related. I've got my Mini for over a month now, and I was dissapointed about battery life on it's first days. Now I think battery shaped its own and there's no problem with battery at all - it lasts two days with moderate data usage.

How long did it take for the problem to solve itself?
I got my phone about a week ago and I was suprised that it was able to last almost 3 days before charging.
Currently battery life is just terrible (less than 24 hours while phone is practically idle, with low brighntness, disabled gps, wifi and data connection) which is quite strange because since then I have rooted my phone and got rid of bloatware.
I have read somewhere that you shouldn't allow li-ion batteries to discharge fully, unfortunately I did that unintentionally,
Is it possible that a single full depletion managed to damage the battery? Or is it possible that I deleted some crucial app?
Phone's electronics and software will protect the battery, so no worry about discharging.
Did you install any messaging app (WhatsApp, Viber, Skype, Tango, Facebook or similar)?
These are draining battery a lot.
No. I don't use those. I even greenified dropbox, pocket and some other apps,
I installed Busybox (I don't know if this is even relevant, honestly I have no idea what am I doing,
I just follow guides to achieve functionality I want )
You may use BetterBatteryStats to find out what sucks your battery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15869868
Or you revert to stock and stop messing around as you had good battery life before as you wrote.

I don't use custom ROM's, after factory reset my phone isn't even rooted. I'll check out BBS soon and post some logs, they might shed some light on the issue. Built in battery usage app shows that most of the battery (30-40%) is sucked by Android OS
Factory reset did help indeed but not for long, battery worked like a charm for 3 or 4 days but problem reappeared.
We lg mini g2 two weeks and never more battery lasted 24 hours on average use. I see that most say the battery should take 2-3 days with average use but to me you is not no day. After 2 hours of Internet browsing still remain less than 50% battery. Is it normal? What will keep you battery continuous internet browsing?

Are you using Google Translator? Because I can barely understand you a little bit. My G2 mini
My smartphone battery does not last 24 hours but I have to admit, I have installed Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Whatsapp, Chrome, Firefox and lots of applications more.

It depends on your usage and brightness settings.
Normally I keep my brightness below 40%.
If I play ingress in the sun with display at 100% brightness I will get the same results as you do.
Hello, I managed to get 2 days 11 hours battery life on G2 mini, pretty good right?
Mostly average usage, no games, a lot of browsing and texting.
I attacged a screenshot.
Share your experiences on battery life!
G2 mini has a good battery life and it's fast charging too. I was able to manage more than one day but haven't reached two days yet but given the battery performance I agree it can last up to 2+ days.

Hi guys,
I have been here a while, tried few ROMs but I can't decide and that's why I am asking for an advice. Which ROM is better in a battery life? I am using stock 4.4.4 right now with stamina on, and I hardly get 3,5-4hrs of onscreen time. I am using a smartband which is connected all the time via bluetooth and I am aware that it may use some battery, but still it is very disappointing. I've checked my wakelocks many times and nothing suspicious was found so I am seeking a different solution.
The question is:
Is GPe better? How much of onscreen time do you have without using any batter savers like DS Battery, or 2x Battery? I tried to use GPe ROM once but I was paranoid and thought that I have kind of a battery drain.
Usually the Sony rom has better battery life. For me at least. I get an average of 5 hours screen time or more, without stamina mode. I don't use a smartband though so i can't say anything about that. GPe rom had worse battery for me, anyway. Especially the standby time is far better on stock Sony. 4-5% drain overnight vs barely 1% drain overnight. I pick stock Sony for better battery

Thanks for your input. I have an 4-5% overnight drop on stock, so I assume that smartband with its advertised BT 4.0 LE isn't as easy on battery as I thought.
It all depends on what you're doing with your Ultra, and what type of apps you're using.
I can squeeze out around 6 hours of screen time if I feel like it, but I normally get around 5 hours on a regular day. I don't really play games (maybe a couple of minutes of Threes), but I use Hangouts, read a lot of news (using Press) and reading some more using Pocket and Google Books.
I don't know what type of smartband you're using, but KitKat supports BLE (Low Energy Bluetooth), so be sure that your smartband also supports it, so it doesn't run on "regular" full powered Bluetooth. BLE uses very little battery and you shouldn't really notice any major shifts in battery usage by using it.
Are you using an IM app like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp or Snapchat? These types of apps are known to drain batteries like crazy.
I'm running the GPe ROM BTW. Keep in mind that your battery life won't be good after flashing a new ROM. It'll need a couple of charges again, so be sure to completely drain your battery to 0% after flashing, and charge it up to 100% before removing it from the charger (to calibrate the internal battery monitor).
I am not a big gamer also, I very rarely play games. Mainly I am reading xda and news on the internet like you.
I use Sony Smartband and it supports LE, but after reading your post I realized that the app which downloads and process the data from it may be a battery hogger (Lifelog app).
Yeah, I have WhatsApp installed but use it rather occasionaly and when it comes to battery calibration, I try to recalibrate it by draining it to 0% almost everytime.
What brightness settings guys are you using?

Try not to drain the battery completely every day. Put it on the charger before it turns itself off, or else you risk damaging the battery cells down the road. It's fine to do it a couple of times a month though. I use auto-brightness, so I guess it's around 50-60% most of the time. I have it at 100% when i'm out in the sun though.
Oh and there's no point in using battery savers. They tend to decrease battery life for me i usually keep the brightness fixed at 70% and i constantly use Viber and Whatsapp. Yet a 1% drain overnight without Stamina mode. So i guess the problem lies with your Lifelog app

I am on the GPe 4.4.4 ROM with DoomKernel v20, DS Battery Saver and Greenify. The drain with WiFi on is around 0.9% per hour in standby, screen on time lies somewhere between 5-6 hours.
As a reference, I recently flashed my Xperia Z with Ultimate PureX stock based ROM (I use that device mostly as a camera with QX10 and for experiments). When I compare those two, I prefer GPe.
I feel that the combination of Google/Sony vanilla and Sony apps together with Xposed Framework gives a better experience, especially with the Ultra 240 DPI phablet mode. The Sony ROMs based on 4.4.x break the notification bar on 240 DPI, unfortunately (at least Monxdified based on .757).
It is worth to mention that the GPe ROM can be equipped with Sony Album, Clock, Movies, Notes, Sketch and Walkman etc - even Sony launchers are available for it. So it is possible to get a vanilla experience with great Sony apps on the side, without having to go back to a Sony based ROM.
On the other hand: If there's confirmation that the "240 DPI breaks the notification bar" problem has been solved in .108 - it would be great. To me, the Ultra needs 240 DPI phablet mode in order to be really enjoyable.
hey guys, im running v5 of twisted rom by @The Sickness. It is a flawless rom, but I was wondering how come my battery life is getting drained so fast.
Its just how it is Looks like u got many hours from that full charge though.
Lollipop drains no one has gotten to the bottom if it .
Make sure your phone is going ino deep sleep use CPU spy app.
Try to disable Volte under phone/settings
Best option to me is buy extra battery or a battery case .
Or Go back to kitkat O.S .

i have an extra battery but i don't get more than 6 hours max.
Its the o.s. the way android is Seems to get worse in time.
They don't make 5" phones to last all day
Only notes
Battery life has been the widest spread topic since day one with any phone on XDA.
Note 3...and 4 they last

I've been on twisted v5 I got two anker batteries off amazon for 28$ did a full charge made sure some settings were off
Made sure phone goes into deep sleep .
I got 9 hrs deep sleep phone went 100% to 96% drain just over night while I was asleep. I have 20hrs left before 0%
I'd suggest getting anker.
Try to adjust settings disable any built in apps unneeded.
It has to do with settings and a good battery and calibrating it.

I beg to differ. My S5 on4.4.2 lasts over a day for me with moderate use. And I had installed the custom ROM on this around Aug/Sep last year.
