Videos app not showing d620r lollipop - LG G2 Mini

So I have a problem. In the file browser, the videos app is present in the lgvideo folder, yet I cannot find it anywhere on the home screen. Search doesn't return any results, and I haven't hidden it either. This is weird, as the app is clearly present in the priv-app folder.

You won't see it in app drawer, you'll se it when you try to open some video file.

Vaulty free app

Has anyone tried this? I downloaded and tried putting a video in there and it didn't go in the vault, yet its not in my gallery. I don't think it deleted, but how would I find the video. Thanks in advance

Might want to look in root explorer to see if video exist under sdcard/DCIM/Vault.
This is where mine defaulted.

after jb update stock browser doesnt open youtube or google play links in app

after I updated to jb when I search for example for a youtube video or google play app and click the link it doesnt open the respective app instead it opens the links in the browser.
any idea?
You've set default values for some apps. Go into App Management, find Internet, click on it, and then click "Clear Defaults". You should then be prompted for which application you want to open certain types of link with the next time you click on one.

thanks for your answer but I already did that
I read somewhere, that's because of Apple patents. Not 100% about the info though.

I have the same problem. It's didn't work since JB upgrade.
Very annoying when you click youtube link in twitter and it's open in browser instead of native app.
BTW, it's obvious problem with only stock browser.
If you open link in Chrome or Dolphin you still have a choice to open in native app.
I will try to revert to ICS stock browser and see what happen.
Up ! I have this problem too... If someone can help us
Well, bad news.
ICS Samsung stock browser not working on JB ROM, FC all the times.
I think we should learn to live with it now, don't think they'll fixed it soon.

[Q] complete action using

Can someone tell me step by step how to add apps to the complete action using list? I have searched and it says add the intent to the manifest or something, but that isn't helpful when I do not even know what that is or how to get there.

Unless you are coding the app, you don't have to worry about that stuff. Apps should just show up as an available option after they're installed.

Sounds good, but didn't work like that for some reason. I have Notepad Pro by laoye. I uninstalled and redownloaded it. When I tap on my text file to open it, the app isn't listed there. On my Note 1 it was. Any ideas?
Shows up for me when I try to open a text file in Solid Explorer. Solid Explorer also gives you the option to open with other apps as you can see in the screen shot

I had created a shortcut of the .txt file on my homescreen using ES File Explorer. It used to work, but not now. Maybe I will uninstall both and try again. Thanks for trying.

Did you try some like chrome or firefox?
After a app is minimized, its paused (onPause() method) by the android os. The only parts of the app who continue running are services, which get used for e.g. a music player. But I think the resources such a service can use are strictly regulated, barely enough for a mp3 or a download. Playing a movie in the background won't be possible for a browser, I think.
Hope that helps you! Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Phil.

Solved..
1. Download Maxathon browser from the playstore.
2. Hit the app button when your in the browser.
3. Scroll over to the right when your in the pop up menu until you find UA.
4. Change it to desktop.
5. Then go to the same menu where you will find options and go to Browser settings.
6. In that sub menu go to "Flash on Demand" and hit "always on".
7. Navigate to the youtube website and play your video of choice.
8. Then hit the app button again and open another tab.
Once your in that tab you can press the home button and go about your business and multitask your phone like it was made for
BTW a simple search would have solved that for you. I copied this from androidforums

Okay I found another way
1. Download TubeMate from the Playstore.
2. Enjoy
When you press the home button the video will be still running in the background The app just works like that.
P.S: I found this app by luck and then I remembered that someone asked about that on XDA so I came back to your thread to tell you about that app. Cheers

Download it form their website: tubemate.net
The apps works for me perfectly on my HTC One X.

Mystery Data file in Gallery

I keep getting a mystery data file in my gallery app. I try to play the file because it shows up as a video but it doesn't work. I delete it and it eventually comes back. Here is a screenshot of the details of it. Does anyone have a suggestion of where this is coming from and how to get rid of it? Thanks!
I have the same thing. I think it showed up when I made a video available off line on drive. I haven't tried to get rid of it yet so I'm not completely sure on that.

TTS = text to speech, so it is probably related to that.
TTS File
I believe this is caused by a misplaced cache file used by TTS (Text-to_Speech) that is showing up in your gallery. It was probably created if you opened the TTS service under Accessibility in the Settings app. It should be safe to delete but may reappear if TTS is activated, directly or indirectly, again.

I have it set to googles text to speech. There is no way to turn text to speech off. Pretty sure I didn't touch it.

It looks like your gallery is mistaking the .tts file for a video file. Apparently .tts can be a file extension for MPEG-2 video formats. Check out this link for more information.
If you want it to stop showing up (and you are rooted) use a file explorer to put a blank ".nomedia" file in the /storage/external_SD/Android/data/ folder and reboot your phone. Or if I remember right, the G3 has a way to hide media files which you dont want to be seen or want to keep private.
