There are a few apps I need to start after a reboot. Apparently none of them are. Is there a setting somewhere in the mess of settings that I just can't find? The apps have their internal "start at boot" but they just don't.
The last straw was when I installed Tasker to start the 2 or 3 apps at boot, but guess what....Tasker doesn't start either!
What is going on? Apparently prior versions of Huawei android had it, at least in a convoluted way as seen in this thread here.
I found the setting for Power Intensive apps like in that thread, but it doesn't list any apps. Adding the app to Protected Apps doesn't allow it either.
It drives me crazy. Also, apps with accessibility/notifications access enabled keep getting disabled. Oh, and if you swipe an app with persistent notifications away from the recent apps list the notification goes away too, defeating the purpose of persistent notifications.
The update we have is a "Lollipop preview" and is supposed to be updated again in the future. Huawei messed this up again somehow.
Probably stupid question, but have you allowed these apps in startup manager?

I don't have that either.
Wonder if it's an app that can be pulled? Check for us please @Kostyan_nsk
Well, seems like Startup manager is a part of Phone manager app. Check, do you have such or not? If you do, then select Permission manager and then Startup manager at the top.
Btw, do you have Permisssion manager in your settings list? Because Startup manager can be accessed from there either.
We have the phone manager, but it doesn't have permission manager or startup manager. Would you mind posting the apk and odex for Phone Manager and I'll see if it works? I doubt it will.
Edit: I managed to get it from a random emui 3.0 rom I found, didn't work. App just crashes like I expected it to.

It allows me to "enable" startup apps, but they don't actually startup. Things like Viper, and battery overlay still need to be launched after a reboot.
Same here, using Ascend Mate 2 it takes the settings but doesn't start the app...

It'd be awesome if the community chimed in now that we have root on which bloat is safe? to remove using titanium backup or such?
Thanks guys!!!!!
PS: YOU DEVS ARE EPIC WIN! for the root
Here's a list by XDA member 12345678(!?) for the S3. It should be similar. As you have root and titanium backup I would suggest you first freeze something you know you don't need and then try to unfreeze it. If that works freeze everything one by one till you notice that you have broken something. Take your time so that you can detect what if anything causes problems when you freeze it. On my old sgsI (still working) even froze Google Maps because it was always stealing ram.
Good luck

bloatware
Those are the ones I got so at least now I am sure
So, I'm officially rooted and started cleaning off some of the bloat that I trusted could be uninstalled. I'll post them below. I've decided to hold off on doing too awful much since I don't know what's safe and what's not and I'm not familiar enough with rooting/freezing/uninstalling to feel super comfortable doing it until I have a more set list of what's safe.
That being said, here's what I've uninstalled so far:
Audible 1.4.3
NFL Mobile 6.1.1.1
Yahoo! Finance 120906.01
Yahoo! News 12.09.06.01
Zappos 2.7.0
Hope this helps someone...:fingers-crossed:

I backed up every single one I uninstalled. My friend said all I have to do is restore them and they'll be back and I can update no problem. :good:
That has always been my route, to backup the bloatware apps I plan on removing my cut/pasting them to the microSD card then copy them off the card and delete. I have them ready for reinstall if needed.
Is the list pictured above a list of bloat applications that are safe to remove, or what's left after removing the bloat applications?

Please note that this module has not been updated in a while and will not work with recent Play Store versions.
Introduction
The newer Play Store versions bring the following changes in regards to permissions:
Permissions are now shown under vague categories when you press the "Update"/"Install" buttons. 42 permissions are also hidden from this screen (list below). To see almost all individual permissions, you can scroll down and tap "View details". Also note that unknown permissions (those defined by apps) are usually hidden in both screens.
Auto-updates only check for new categories, not new permissions.
For more info, I'd recommend you read this article by pulser_g2.
Purpose
This module aims to fix this problem for users who care about permissions. It'll do the following:
Make the Play Store show you all of the app's permissions.
Require you to manually update apps with new permissions (regardless of the category).
It more or less restores the old behavior.
Here are some screenshots of the first point in action:

Additional Info
All of the following permissions are ignored by the Play Store when auto-updating, and are hidden when you press "Update"/"Install" (you can still them if you scroll down and tap "View details"):
Code:
"android.permission.ACCESS_MOCK_LOCATION", "android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE",
"android.permission.ACCOUNT_MANAGER", "android.permission.AUTHENTICATE_ACCOUNTS",

"com.android.launcher.permission.UNINSTALL_SHORTCUT", "com.android.vending.CHECK_LICENSE",

Additionally, unknown permissions (usually specified by the package) are also ignored. Users rarely care about these, though.

What would be cool...a working equivalent of TiB's "detach from Market" so that during bulk manual updates, you can keep an old version of an app and not see the nag to update it. I just can't believe that has not been a standard Play option.
Great module concept btw. Come on Google!!!
I've heard you talk in the past about permissions and how you won't install an app until you de-compile and verify that it does not have any sneaky stuff. This is a good example of community spirit, helping the lesser skilled folks here at XDA, deal with a pretty darn important privacy and security hole. Hats off! :good:
Excellent module. I really like that I can now put my apps back on auto-update and that I will be alerted when an app changes its permissions.I do hope when that happens this module will let me know what the new permissions are 'cause I don't ever remember what permissions an app has. I just don't install an app with permissions I don't like. Now if I can just get comfortable using xprivacy. And by using I mean understanding exactly what I'm doing a little better.

I pick up more tips for using TiBu in the oddest places........
This mod allows you to install an APK just by opening it (from file manager or any other app)
It provides a UI to allow you to disable this feature without disabling the module
You should only enable when using it to prevent accidentally installing viruses while on dodgy websites/apps etc
You can find the module attached or on the Xposed Repository
Planned Features
-Auto uninstall
-Automatically close installer window after installation completed
thanks to @pyler for fixing an issue with apps which have a lot of permissions
Note the module is disabled by default, not only do you need to enable in Xposed Installer (obviously) but you need to enable the module by launching it's UI

Thanks mate for making this effort to prepare this module, really.
Just some issues,
The next automatically bypasses which is good, but still we have to click install and also after getting installed we still have to click on done/install to close the installer.
It will be great if we just click the apk file and the installation takes places in the background without bothering and a toast appears that the app has been installed.
Is it possible to modify this module as above.
But genuinely I appreciate your effort bro.

As soon as I tick 'enable' and leave and reopen the app, the tick is gone.
And it doesn't work on my phone. =/
Have you thought about adding a timer to the "enable" box? (eg: enable for 10/20/30 minutes then auto-disable)
Might help out in cases where people forget to disable after using and then end up getting force-fed an APK from an ad online or something.
One of the things that I found lacking with my Nexus Player was the ability to reboot straight from within Android. As such, I decided to write a small app which allows me to do just this. I have also added some other small features, such as Reboot to recovery, Reboot to bootloader and Shutdown. I hope that you find my app useful and I look forward to any feedback.

No doubt this is a more elegant solution. I installed the app and will be using it, thank you! It was rather fyi.
It would nice if there was kinda "Sleep" button (not sure if it's actually possible, but I think it should be).
And, also, how about "kill all background tasks"?

I'll look into it however I doubt that I will add an option to kill background tasks as I believe that Android does a good job by itself and closing the apps manually does more harm than good.
task kill is not necessary since Android 4.0, but I will echo the request for Sleep. It would be nice to make it Sleep just like any other Android phone.

I use Rebooter, but your app is much nicer looking. Any reason I should use yours over theirs?

it's not my app, but I can tell you that this app looks very elegant and integrates with 5.x Lollipop Material design very well.
Looks good and is better then the built in reboot, Thanks.

Thank you for uploading the apk. I'll start to include an .apk in the main thread for future updates. I have fixed the compatibility issue and it should be available on the Play Store again in a couple of hours. On another note, would this interface be preferred as opposed to the current one?
I haven't tried many, except the pesky software update notification from T-Mobile (com.wssyncmldm) but I remember disabling a bunch on the note 7. What have you got disabled that hasn't caused issues yet?

On my Sprint S8+, so far I have only disabled Bixby related. I prefer Google as it is a bit more mature and refined. Also, looking at the knox related stuff to disable.
Coming from Verizon to Sprint, so not sure what all the Sprint bloatware is and what it does.
I am using the Samsung Package Disabler Pro. What are you using?
Anyone know what the Android 7.0 easter egg process is?

Not such a funny joke, actually he is doing a good job, if he wanted to be stuck in one ecosystem he would buy an iphone, samsung is always putting so much bloatware, unwanted apps into their devices. If someone does not use a certain app, why wouldn't he just disable it? I can't imagine using a samsung phone without hardly debloating it first
