[Q] calendar sync without gapps - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm running Cyanogenmod 12.1 without gapps installed and unfortunately I cannot use the calendar, because it requires an account. How can I set this up?

Lost Google calendar sync with CM9 Alpha 1

My TP lost the Google calendar sync after upgrade to CM9 Alpha 1.
I can not find any sync item for Google calendar on setting menu --> Accounts & sync ! please see my attach file on this post !
Anyone got same problem
i just noticed the same thing as well
Mine is just the opposite, never synced very well on 0.6 but now it works really well. I think it's the gapps, I flashed the one I downloaded with aokp after installing alpha 1.
Try flashing the gapp fixer utility, the link is in the dev forum. This fixed the problem for me.
Thanks for help
Now the Google calendar sync is back normal sync with my gmail account !
I was install gapps_ics_4.0.3_v11 with A0.6
after upgrade A1 the Google calendar sync got problem and lost !
and than I try install gapps-ics-20111230, google calendar sync still got problem and lost.
and then I try install gapps_fixer, google calendar sync is back.
I do believe that gapps_ics_4.0.3_v11 is not working very well with ICS on TP.

Market account problem on Cyanogen mod 7.2

My device: Samsung Galaxy Ace
CM 7.2 stable
On a clean 7 I installed only Vending.apk from Gapps (unpacked it from gapps). I set up an account, login succeeded but the Market keeps telling me that I need at least one account. I would really appreciate some directions without installing the full set of gapps trash.

[Q] Calendar not sync'ing

Hi together,
I bought a Nexus 9 yesterday.
Then I rooted it, installed SimpleAOSP (02/18) and Banks' GApps (02/13).
Afterwards I installed Google Calendar from the Play Store.
Unfortunatelly, it won't sync...
I already tried removing my Google Account, no luck.
Also, I tried deleting data of Calendar Provider & Calendar, no luck.
What else can I do?
Thanks!
Alright, I could solve the problem using other / the correct GApps.

Any idea how to create and use Exchange account on Nitrogen OS Oreo ROM?

When I try to create account there is no exchange option, don't wanna use Outlook app because it's using proprietary format for data not possible to share with other apps, need it especially for contacts syncing. Is there some version of Exchange services which could I just install and make Exchange account available?
Extract and install the e-mail apk from 7.1 NOS zip (or get it from here). It works on other 8.1 ROMs too

Click to collapse
flash mini gapps, have exchange services (for gmail for example)
in the end I just installed gmail and disabled built in email, but thanks for tip with Mini gapps, always installing pico, this is useful

Calendar syncing is not working

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900T). I recently installed Lineage OS 15.1, which seemed to work great at first. But I realized my Google and other calendars weren't working.
Here are some things I tried that didn't work:
- Reboot and factory reset
- I looked at accounts under Settings->Users and Accounts, the 'Sync Calendar' option was missing.
- Tried to hit 'Add Account' in the Calendar app, but the button does not work. When I try to add an event, the app takes me to a log in screen where I can enter my Google username. But after I enter it, the app simply says 'This account already exists'.
- This morning, I installed a new ROM -- AospExtended 8.0, but all of the above problems still persisted! I still don't see the option to sync calendar under accounts in my device.
What do I need to do to get the calendar working again?
EDIT (ANSWER): I realized the GAPPs installer that I had using was not installing the calendar properly. Downloaded new GAPPs installer for my phone and the calendar now works like a charm!
