Hi,
I've been using my Gear S with my S5. Now I got a S6 edge and I want to migrate to my new phone.
Is there an easy way to do this ?
Thanks.
I'd appreciate any help. Please...
You should be able to perform a restore. Assuming you did a backup
what kind of restore ?
I can make a backup on my S5 Gear Manager.
But how will that backup move to my S6 ?
If you're rooted you can try using Titanium (back up restore apps) or if not you can try Kies
from previous experience I know that I was not able to backup Gear Manager Gear S settings with Titanium Backup.
Kies: how can I backup on one device and restore on another ?
Also, how can I just restore Gear Manager ?
Samsung Answer:
I understand that you would like to use your Gear S to Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S6. Thank you for enquiring with us. I will help you with the required information.
I would like to inform you that you can use Gear S in a stand-alone mode but unfortunately there is no option to use it with another device without deleting the data. In order to pair the Gear S with another device, you need to delete the data form the Gear manager and all the apps need to be re-downloaded again on the new device. I can understand how annoying it would be. I would have surely helps with there is any other option to resolve the issue.

Using Titanium Backup I d/l and installed today.
I did a Backup of everything on my Galaxy S3 and I want to Restore it all to a new Galaxy S3 (yes, same phone, same everything, but a new one). When I get to the Restore it prompts me at each App (and I have many) to Install, after which I need to press Done. Is there anyway to do this in Batch mode so I can leave it run without having to attend this?
thanks
You have to purchase the pro version, which has an unattended batch restore.

Yep, that is correct.
I had a scan through the specifics on Backup, but I would like to ask the question on the best way to backup my i9305 and restore to another i9305.
I am obtaining a replacement and would like to just duplicate my exact settings look and feel and ALL apps installed without messing about with different programs if I can.
Not all my apps are from the Play Store, some are separate APK file installation which I would like to be included in the restore.
I have paid for the My Backup Pro program, would that do everything I require??.
My device is not rooted as I don't want to root until Three-UK role out the 4g.
Appreciate any feedback. AJW
After toying around with my GN3 and my Galaxy Gear, I have come to the conclusion that the Galaxy Gear Manager does not work properly after restoring it from Titanium Backup. I have verified this across 3 roms. After removing the restored version of the Galaxy Gear Manager from the device and re-installing it from the Samsung App Store, I can confirm it will then work.
So what wasn't working?
The notifications were not working and it was really getting me frustrated . The only other thing I can think of is to restore the Galaxy Gear Manager after restoring all the other apps (I have not tried that but I just thought of it as I was writing this post).
I made a back up of my smasung phone using smartswitch, the samsung phone stopped working recently and i have got a new android phone which isnt samsung and i cannot seem to connect to smartswitch to restore the backup to the new phone. I have seen software that claim to do it, but they are not free and look like malware. is there a reputable software that i can use to restore the backup i made?
I am comfortable with rooting the phone and stuff, was thinking of changing the build.prop to a samsung phone but not sure if that will work to connect to smartswitch app.
the most important thing is the wifi settings, the file is saved as the .ebk format and searching online shows its a ebook format, which doesnt make sense.
any help will be appreciated
thanks.
Hi,
On my Galaxy S4 cellphone (android version 5.0.1) i was using an application - Automatic Call Recorder.
i have over there a lot of important saved calls.
recently i have upgraded to Galaxy S7 (android version 7.0.0).
i tried to migrate the data with backing up the app+data on the S4 and restoring on the S7, and it failed.
the backup process seems to succeed but when i try to restore it on the S7 i see that it's completed but when i open the app i see that it is still "new" and don't have any data.
i tried to backup & restore with Helium App and another 2-3 apps and it didn't help.
i also tried to move the data manually (the files of the saved calls) and it didn't help.
i tried to contact the app developers but they didn't really try to help.
i assume the issue source is the change between the android versions, because i once formatted my S4 and backup the app with Helium before the format and restored it successfully after the format.
an important face - both devices are not rooted.
any ides how can i migrate the data?
thanks!
