Welcome to the New Boot Sounds Hub!
I just made a compilation of boot sounds.
They are all ready for flashing.
If you want to listen to it first
then just unzip the file and play
"PowerOn."
Make a necessary back-up just in case
you want to revert back.
There are two way to change the
boot sound. One, flashing the zip file via
CWM. Two, getting the PowerOn file from
zip and putting it on system/media/audio/ui
in the device, setting 644 permission then reboot.

I used Odin to flash the latest Tar and it said success. Have been on the "Samsung Screen" for a have hour now, flashing and the led flashing low and bright. Also, there is no stock recovery installed (can not boot into it).

Unlocked, rooted and custom ROM, can it be hard locked.
HI!
I used this forum to unlock, root and install a custom ROM on my Samsung SIII, and my HTC one x! It was soo useful - going from having no idea to following the steps and doing it myself (with a few scary moments). Anyway, I have a question if someone has my IMEI can the phone be hard locked/bricked (both phones were purchased second hand) and if they can be can I unlock them again?
THANKS!! :victory:
Hi All, recently I went back to stock ICS from Omega v27, and then rooted with CF 6.4 and installed Siyah 1.53.
On v27 custom bootanimation enabling zip file was there on my exSD card. Today by curiosity I flashed that Zip file using CWM and since then when the phone boots I just hear the sound but cannot see the boot animation. What should I do now to make it visible ?
Regards,
Flash Omega V27.1 which uses a custom boot animation by default.

Did you enable Custom Bootanimation Zip or did you just flash the bootanimation directly, because if so that will end up with infinite bootloop.V27.1 Bootanimation enabled by default and implemented inside the ROM.

Dear, I rebooted into Cockworkmod recovery. Then chosen the custom bootanimation enabling zip file That Came with the Omega Rom Files Menu that I installed previously. That zip file was left on the ext SD card and then by enough stupid curiosity I flashed that Zip file using CWM which resulted in no infinite loop but a blanc screen with default Samsung Animation sound and the phone gets into the home screen. This is uncomfy. I can hear the sound but see no animation. I really like to get back the stock animation working. I even factory reset the phone, but of no vail.

hi mate,
its your animation that need some modification..
inside the bootanimation.zip there is a file named "desc.txt", just open that with notepad++, and edit the last line that probably says something like this:
p 0 0 Part1
Click to collapse
and change the 0 (zero) after "p", to 1 or more (depends on how many times you want it to loop)
so it looks something like this:
p 1 0 Part1

ICS dosent support looped animations, and therefore youll end up having the animation showing forever.. its only JB that supports looped animations.
you could read this thread for further information:
Custom Bootanimations Collection + How To Install + Enable/Disable
and especially check post #5
EDIT:
btw, you need both CF-root with CWM and Busybox for it to work on stock roms.
hi anbech, the prob is fixed. Thank you for the extensive help and others too. Yes, I've read your thread. Infact we should (not could) read your thread when it comes about first time custmizing the bootanimations.

Did you do a backup in CWM? If not, lesson learned, hmm? If you didn't then you'll need to either find another rom that will work for you and boot back to CWM to reset and install the new one. If that isn't an option then you will have to restore to stock with the Odin tool.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2619565
Please provide the link to the CM rom you used and describe how you tried to install so we can see if there is something wrong with how you installed or the rom itself, if you want.

Thanks for the reply..
I didnt take up any backup :/
well i used this link to update or flashing..
http://howtoroots.com/how-to-update-samsung-galaxy-y-to-android-kitkat-4-4/
just samsung logo appears and recovery mode only cwm recovery mode comes and i even wiped dalvik cache
and i went to samsung service centre, they said it cant be recovered as i tried to root using other version of galaxy y maybe samsung galaxy s5360 rather than its original galaxy s6102,so it cant be recovered they said.
I followed the steps they said in the site, but the cell got stuck, just samsung logo screen comes all the time.
so what to do..
Do i have to follow steps you said above using odin? Does it works?
Is it guaranteed it will be unbricked and will be working fine after doing all those steps u mentioned using odin?

Reflashing your rom or using Odin to return to stock are about your only options. This is why you should always make a nandroid backup before making changes to the system.
hi guys need some help i tried rooting my phone following the guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/sm-g925i-device-specifc-thread-t3078608 and my phone is stuck in a bootloop. I ended up flashing the CF-Auto-Root-zeroltetmo-zeroltetmo-smg925t.tar.md5 from the OP in that thread and my phone is stuck on "samsung galaxy s6 edge powered by android" it does not seem to go past this screen, i did try flashing the CF-Auto-Root-zeroltetmo-zeroltetmo-smg925i.tar.md5 and its the same result, stuck at boot any ideas? sorry this is the wrong section can a mod move it to the Q and A section please.
never mind managed to fix it mod please close the thread.
