Hello guys, I am just wondering if anybody have tried or know if the following IUNI OS ROM by Machao on Chinese forum works with Locked bootloader as it is based on official 4.4.4-23.0.1.A.3.12 or it does require an unlocked bootloader? Thank you.

I don't want to loose my recovery and re flash my phone all from the beginning. i though maybe there is someone here who understand chinese so he can understand what is written on the forum because google translate isn't giving an accurate translation.
It has been a long time since the last update, so better not flash this.

You can reflash the old recovery if it does not work, and make a backup before you flash.

There's no root for the snapdragon s9+ yet.
There's supposed to be a guy in the LG v30 group who has an exploit but won't share it yet. Idky, but I'm just an average user.

Yeah - Something about that whole Locked Bootloader thing - The "best" that you can ever hope to see is something like Samfail on the S8/S8+ But you'll never have true Root with TWRP ?

There's no root for any Snapdragon S9/+, EXCEPT for the Chinese/Latin American version. which is the G9600 and G9650.
That variant can be rooted with the proper "no_verity" and "rmm_bypass" zips.

I came across the following link. I'm a noob, so I'm not certain the rooting procedure described therein actually works.

That's a poorly written article.
The process and the files are all actually for the G9650 but they keep saying "G965U1", and it's "star2qlte", not "star2qltue".

I did notice that it seemed translated from another language.
I did not know it's star2qlte (I got the phone a couple of weeks ago, haven't done my research yet). Thanks for the heads up.
Hello everyone and one year after the last answer, someone knows something about how to root the SM-G965U1, please if anyone knows something, share, thanks
It doesn't exist, it won't exist. Enjoy your phone as is. [emoji16]

Just as my topic states i need to root my sm-g892a (ATT galaxy S8 active). I am on v5 bootloader tho.... I cant seem to find an available root. I also cant find a way to downgrade the bootloader to v2 or v3 one that has a root.
Could you guys please help me, point me in the right direction, or tell me it isn't possible.
Thank you so much.
Much love and respect.

No! There is no root, bootloader unlock for United States Snapdragon. Np oem unlock toggle..can't downgrade firmware if bootloader increases.
What was disrespectful in my post? I answered the question.

100% can't, all Snapdragon devices are bootloader locked.
Locked not possible
Can I install 906U1 over 906U though? If I don't need root or something like that, just wanna get rid of the bloatware.
Did that with my s10+ a while ago.
To answer my own question, just did.
Used bifrost to download an appropriate U1 unlocked firmware and a patched odin to install it.
