With that out of the way let's talk about what we have here. Currently, the Nexus 6P does not have band 12 activated. Well, that's what we were told. The initial OTA received disabled the band but Google did not remove the factory image for whatever reason. With that being said, here is a quick write up of the steps you need to take and the prerequisites to doing this.
The prerequisites are
1. Unlocked bootloader
2. Fastboot enabled
The steps are simple
1. Download this radio https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347853575
2. Reboot your 6P into bootloader mode.
3. Open up command prompt or terminal.
4. Use cd to go to the directory where the radio downloaded
5. Type is "fastboot flash radio radio-angler-angler-01.29.img"
6. Type "fastboot reboot"
7. Profit.
This will allow you to access band 12 lte. This also will give you VoLTE over band 12. This is good news as it gives you calls over lte for 911 calls. That being said there is a reason Google disabled this so keep that in mind.
This information is based off of a thread I was following that I am unable to find. This is not my discovery. This a centralized location for information.
Initial discussion is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3233975
Good looking out
Yeah this is amazing. I was thinking of returning the phone till now. Band 12 is a must in my area.
So if we do this is the newest radio available? Thanks

If someone could make a flashable zip, that would make this 100x easier.

I could be wrong but I think only radios sent OTA can be repacked into a zip. Don't quote me on that

This is extremely easy. I may eventually make a zip if I have time. This actually is the oldest radio BTW. No idea why Google released it.

Is this strictly for T-Mo customers or is there a benefit for everyone even on Verizon for unlocking this band?
On T-Mobile. Everyone else should follow the proper radios.
Project fi aswell perhaps?
I'd like to know this as well.
It should work with Fi also. Any band 12 carriers.
Since no one else has asked yet, what are the downsides for activating this on Tmo/Fi?
Root required?

Nope, since you'd use fastboot. In the OP, see:

No downsides. Unless I'm missing something. The phone has volte over band 12 so 911 calls should work.

Hi everyone Im a noob around here so i wasn't allowed to reply over here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574718&highlight=frequency&page=1891
so i'd be glad if any full user could forward my concern over there.
The issue at hand is not trivial since it involves changing GSM or WCDMA frequencies on a ROM which has Samsungs Service Mode not included (at least not accessible as usual). This tool used to do the job pretty well (just see this link http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...rk-frequency-your-samsung-i9000-galaxy-s.html) and now its gone. Maybe there's a workaround, an app or a terminal code to do this. Or maybe that'ld be a fancy new implementation to this great ROM, since i've been googling around the solution without any success and since there are so many worldwide android users which use a different variety of network frequencies determined by their carrier.
Thanks in advance

Sorry, let me restate that for you. Frequencies are hardware dependant and software enabled. You might have a cuatriband phone only enabled to use one of the bands with the remaining three bands being "dormant" so to speak. I recommend the lecture of this link for that purpose:
just realized I can't post outside URLs so plz just google * # * # 1 9 7 3 2 8 6 4 0 # * # * and read the first link Or just read the link from androidforums I've posted before.
Moreover, I've flashed at&t's official ROM, enabled my specific 3g band used by my carrier (through Samsung Service Mode)and voila, data again. But i can't do this in AOKPs ROM since SSM is not enabled or is missing. Maybe there's a known app or terminal code to do this on AOKP.
Thanks again

Yeah exactly, right now my carrier supports only 3g through WCDMA 850 mhz which is unabled by default. I´m trying to force this frequency through AOKP but I can´t seem to find how. Maybe task would know better.
Thanks!
Just wondering if these could run tmobile roms would love to bring back wifi calling natively rather than using apps and things of that nature. Tried a few searches on here couldn't come up with anything that was solid.
You can make ROMs for other carrier work, but not without some extra work to replace certain files. However, wifi calling requires carrier support. It's not a feature that's going to work on Verizon. The phone system has to know how to route your number, and it can't do that without carrier support.

Ahh ok because I know on the I317 I can put a tmobile rom on it and I am able to use the wifi calling feature I thought maybe it would be a similar process.

If it is a TW ROM you can flash Scotts patch afterwards and will be fine. AOSP will require some modifying but its honestly fairly easy to get it up and running. If there are bugs you'll have difficulty figuring them out but with help from the community you would most likely be able to debug and fix any issues.

The other night I put my HTC DEV rooted EVO 4g LTE on CM 10.1.3 stake release. I did flash the boot img to the phone as I had unlocked using HTC Dev. Instead of eyeballer recovery and CWM method that is on the CM wiki I used my existing TWRP to install 10.1.3 from my micro sd card.
Got things running smooth and stable within an hour or so of installing that night but was dismayed to find when I got to work the next morning that I had no data connectivity although I had it at my home which is some 26 miles away. Phone performance was sporadic at work but data was dead (I'm only 3g where I live and where I work) meaning everything kept telling me I had no internet and I had no 3g symbol.
Called sprint to get PRL pushed to me. That didn't work.
Questions:
1. Does the data connectivity loss look like an issue with 10.1.3?
2. Is there a way to request a PRL update in 10.1.3?
3. Is there a way to request a Profile update in 10.1.3?
4. Do i really need to do 2 or 3 above or am I assuming that would have fixed the problem.
5. Related to #s 2 and 3 above, I often found it helpful to update the prl and profile on my stock rom phones. Is it not needed on CM 10.1.3, in other words does it do it automatically or is there some method to do this that is not in the software?
To address the lack of data connectivity, I simply put my stock, unrooted HTC One (Sprint) back on the account figuring I'd deal with this later. The One had no problems nor did my 4G LTE before I blew away the rooted stock ROM and Viper that I was swapping out before going to CM 10.1.3
I'm really digging the CM Rom and would like to keep using it. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having this exact issue with 10.1.3 stable, though it is highly inconsistent. Sometimes I'll have excellent data service. Sometimes I'll reboot and have 4G for about 5 minutes, after which I'll drop off the planet. Very strange.
It appears I overwrote my stock NAND backup, so I'll have to find the right version and install that and give this a shot. Did it work for you?
Here is my situation. I cannot make any calls. It sits on dialing then eventually just "hangs up". If someone calls me it goes straight to voice mail like it would do if it was turned off. I often get no network errors also. Data and sms work like normal.
Here is what I have done.
Called Verizon. Got a new sim. No change.
Reflashed back to stock 4.1.1 in Odin. No change.
flashed mj9 radio in Odin. No change.
Rooted and unlocked usually casual. No change.
Flashed alliance 26. No change.
I have cleared data in the phone app in settings.
Mobile network shows as cdma/lte. Access Point is vzwinternet. I have pulled the sim and let it sit for a few minutes. I have pulled the sim and powered on, then powered off and put the sim back in. That is what I have found from searching Google and it doesn't work.
I'm going to call Verizon again. I want them to reset everything associated with my number.
In the meantine, does anyone have any suggestions?

Unlocked bootloader and VRUEMJ9
I am in nearly the same position. I currently have a Service State of "Out of Service" and Mobile network state of "Disconnected". Occasionally it will show connected and I will receive emails. I cannot make or receive calls, I cannot send or receive texts. My phone shows connected to Verizon and LTE, imei showing correctly, as is the serial number. Currently on baseband i605 VRUEMJ9 and recovery is TWRP 2.7.0.0. I have flashed many roms to the phone, but this problem occurred when flashing slimrom 4.4.2. I backed up with Nandroid prior to flashing and when the problem surfaced I tried to restore in TWRP, but it won't correct the problem. I was on CM 10.1.3 prior to trying to move to 4.4.2 and that is what my backup is of(CM10.1.3). Currently I have gone down to Slim rom 4.3 build 2.1 as it seems to be the most stable and results in the most things working. My first question to the community is, I thought i605 VRUEMJ9 baseband had a LOCKED bootloader? How is it that I have custom recovery, have installed at least 3 different roms, etc? I bought the phone 2nd hand and this is the way it came to me. The level of complexity on Note 2 is far and away worse than S3. If anyone has any ideas on what is corrupted(EFS or what) and what my best course of action should be to preserve my unlocked bootloader and root and ability to flash custom roms. Is it possible since my bootloader "appears" to be unlocked that I could flash a different radio(baseband) replacing the problematic VRUEMJ9? Every tutorial on repairing situations like these seem to point you in the direction of going back to 100% stock which isn't something I'm willing to try at this point given I currently have an unlocked bootloader.
I have changed out the sim, spoken to Verizon who have reset everything on the account. I think it's time to replace the phone and sell this one to someone who wants to take it to a MVNO.

3.) Boot up and try to send a few texts. They will fail everytime as texting is broke in this build (but this is how the magic happens)

5.) Reboot into recovery and wipe everything raw

No. Verizon said it's a network error. They are sending out a technician to check things in the area. I don't have a lot of faith in that one though. If I put the sim in my wife's phone......I can just swap them back and everything will be normal again right? I don't need to call verizon or anything to do it?

I thought I would give you an update since you are heavy aosp user. I was thinking about how this happened. I installed slim ROM and suddenly I couldn't make calls.
So today I thought I would try an aosp ROM just to give it a shot. I installed slim and magically I could make calls. I have no idea why it worked.
I wonder if slim uses some sort of different coding? I am gonna backup and try a TW ROM to see it that works now too.

I'm having a same issue here.
I got a locked MJ9, and it has terrible signal with all three major carriers (AT&T, VERIZON, TMOBILE).
I upgraded to ND7, and have the same problem.
When the phone goes to sleep, it looks like the antennae goes to sleep as well.
So the phone doesn't even receive the phone calls.
Only when I initiate a phone call once, it starts receiving the call.
Has anyone have success with any particular rom? As you can see, my only options are stock roms since I have locked bootloader.
For anyone having problems with doing Wi-Fi calling I have found a permanent solution that seems to work, at least for the Pure Nexus rom. The build dated 8-07-2015 for some reason will not work with Wi-Fi calling. The fix is to apply the radio from factory image from the latest build from Google for T-Mobile which is LYZ28J.
I have a link here to my google drive with the file below:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bw_st8EHY1jVOEh1bG5NYnFGb2s
to apply the radio, you must open up a command prompt and put the phone into the bootloader.
the command to apply the file will be: fastboot flash radio "[location]radioname.img"
Example: fastboot flash radio c:\android\sdk\platform-tools\radio.img
I have confirmed this working on two devices running Pure Nexus rom build 8-07-2015. As for other builds this may be a viable option!

As a side note I have Wifi calling with the M radio, also I never knew Wifi calling wasn't working on Pure Nexus and I've been on it since day one hah
Hoping more clarity to come
just wondering. would this work with CM ROM if I flash it, since CM ROM does not have WiFi calling? just a thought.

This doesn't work with Hydra kernel, but does work with Hells, BenzoCore and the pure nexus kernel.

This might be a stupid question. So If WiFi calling is enabled and call long distance do I get charge for it?

You would have to ask your carrier regarding that. I would call them and ask them if you use Wi-Fi calling will you be charged long distance? They may say yes or no. You aren't running off their cell tower, although it does go through their network. The answer could be 50/50... but it is worth asking at least.
I can't believe they charge you for long distance.... thats insane. They haven't done that in the US now for almost 15 years.

No, the rom itself needs to support the option. If the rom doesn't support it, then switching to this radio will not make it magically work. Ontop of the rom, the kernel needs to support it as well.

If you have Wi-Fi calling enabled, and you have Wi-Fi as the preferred calling method, you will see that while making a call it will say Wi-Fi call, then when you pull down your notification drawer, where it gives you your signal strength and says "T-Mobile" it will instead say "T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling". That's how you can ensure it's working.
