How long does this process take? I've been restoring for almost 1.5 hours...its been stuck on personal data for most of that time. It started out at 61% and has only moved to 63% in the last hour. Doesn't seem normal, but for obvious reasons I dont want to stop it in the middle...TIA
I'm in the same boat. Been in the sixties for personal data for about 2 hours now. Do you by chance have a lot of text messages that are being restored? I do so am thinking that's what is going on. It takes hours to restore my texts via titanium backup
I did. I yanked the battery and checked everything but personal. It worked out fine. Personal was only 25mb.

When using titanium backup. In my experience when it gets stuck you'll need to go to settings and force stop it. Re open titanium backup and try just restoring the apk first then go back and restore data on those apks you need. I always do this now and never run into that issue again.

Is there any 2.3.x roms that will not start FCing like its their job after restoring thru TB? I've been using redux and just put a hole in my wall. I refuse to lose my apps and data.

I've had zero problem restoring my apps on 2.3, just don't restore any system data/apps and you should be fine.
Every single time I wait almost a full battery cycle to let everything settle in, then I only restore the crossed out apps that are strictly not system. Now I can't use my browser for more than 1 min. Facebook ****s out as soon as data starts pushing thru my phone. Xda seems fine. But still, the same damn problems. I have an older PM from Roman himself with his step by step method that I use everytime I flash anything cm7 based and this continues to happen. I'm about to blame it on my phones hardware and break this piece of **** in 2.

thanks for the laugh haven't had a good one in a while hahaah
DONT RESTORE DATA! I DONT CARE IF IT IS NOT A SYSTEM APP! DO NOT RESTORE DATA!
TRY RESTORING APP ONLY. I BET MY 2 CENTS, NO FC's.
-Do a data/factory reset in recovery
-reboot
-RESTORE APPS ONLY
Lol. I literally would install 5 apps + data with 1 min intervals between each, then reboot and repeat. Took forever but everything is working A.O.K. I skipped swype though. I'm afraid of that *****. Yea I'm not clicking ur link there buddy, I know better. Never feed a troll.

I just went from System V to Trigger Redux (build 17). TB was not able to restore my WIFI access points or my bluetooth connections. I still have not figured out why.
BC they are linked to froyo and the "data" is not gingerbread compatable.

After using an app called TS 2 which encrypts photos and videos, my Allstream began bootlooping. It would get to the Sense touchscreen, and as soon as i pulled the ring up, boot loop began. What was the possible cause of this ?
Also, I've been spending the last2 hours getting my tablet back to normal.thankfully, all my music and data is backed up online w google or Picasa or etc.
Related question:
Though, like my synergy Rom on EVO, is there a way to enable the jetstream to automatically Download all the apps again when a flash or restore occurs? Is root needed for that?
If you checked Google to backup your apps, your apps should reinstall minus the data.

Ok. Really unhappy now. I rebooted my device after spending hours yesterday restoring it and it is still bootlooping after a factory reset. When I pull the lockscreen run, it crashes and reboots. Please help.
Possible causes?
possible fixes?

is there a chance your issue is related to that thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1306673
i never had bootloops myself, so i cant quite help. sorrys.
I'm unsure. I was on WiFi when it happened. I don't know of that makes a difference. Also, I had screen rotation off, so I was unable to rotate to check.
Could this glitch be fixed with root?

Also, my jetstream does not bootloop on its own. It only happens once I tell the device to reboot.
I'm afraid to reboot it now lol. It's done it twice and the hours I've out in to restoring it is not cool.
I need nandrioid!!

I've always had an issue when moving from one rom to another. Essentially I backup my close to 10,000 sms messages, and when I install the new rom attempt to restore them via SMS Backup and Restore app. After doing so it results in the stock messaging app becoming unusable and crashes, which results in lost service and a slew of other problems. As of late I started freezing the stock messaging app with TB and use Go SMS instead, but now I can't receive MMS. Anybody have a sure fire solution? Thanks
No one wants to help? I'd really appreciate some input. Thanks

I have over 10k messages I use to restore (SMS Backup & Restore) without problems, gone through basically every rom you can think of.
And yes I also use GoSms, cause after 1k messages the stock SMS decides it wants to lag like crazy.
Does the stock messaging app crash even when you're not using it? (When you leave it unfrozen)
Sent from my Galaxy S II (i777)
Yes it crashes regardless. I wouldn't mind if I could leave it alone and not worry about it, but whenever I boot the phone back up and its unfrozen it crashes my phone and it loses signal. Miui is the only rom this didn't happen to, which is why I'm still using it.

Still looking for a solution. The newer version of backup and restore lets you restore message from a certain date on, but not before that date. I feel like if I restored it in two stages with a reboot in between it would have any issues, but I have yet to find a simple method of doing so.

I was having this same issue after restoring my SMS/MMS messages. Then I used SMS Backup + to back them all up to my gmail account. After that I wiped them all out from my phone, and the stock app was still crashing, so I started using GO SMS again. A couple days later, the stock app just started working by itself all of a sudden when I got a notification for an SMS message in my status bar. I'm not sure what fixed it.

Did you try clearing the sms cache through manage apps?? sometimes doing this helps clear up glitches, I did this when I had the Phantom VM bug. not sure if it will work for this but its worth a shot.
Hope this helps
Thanks for all the input guys. I was able to restore my messages in 4 chunks. Worked great, just took forever. Thanks

Hey, I saw this has been a while, but I am trying to do the exact same thing as you. How were you able to restore it in chunks?

Well have you tried smsbackup and restore which saves your text messages into an XML and when you restore them it takes a couple of minutes.

Seems like your question has been answered, but another suggestion is backup2gmail. It backs up into threaded view your SMS, MMS, and call logs to Gmail. All is real-time or according to schedule. Very lightweight and has yet to fail me.

Hey,
i have titanium backup on my sgs 2 and every time i try to back up my content it's just freezing on a randomal % and i cant to nothing (only take the battery out)...
what can i do?
Try uninstall and reinstall tb.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
tried that 2 times... restatrted my phone... even tried on flight mode ( donno why thought that wpuld help )
anything else?
Maybe you have too many apps trying to back up and your phone can't handle it.
Try to do it by 10 or 20.
usb debugging mode must b ticked , sometimes this happen if the backup is not good...but tick the usb debugging mode on...
Using tb since sgs1 here with no prob.

There are apps that just can't be restored depending on the rom. Ie. I can't restore Viber on AOKP etc. But your problem happens randomly? Maybe reinstall TB, or redo all backups?
Yeah it happens randomly....
tried everything on this post still freezing
what should i do... i have to backup my apps before cahngeing rom...

If you were trying to restore a System app then Titanium backup is always hit and miss. It actually works about 10% of the time only if u are restoring system app + data but works flawlessly if u are restoring User apps and system app data.
I've learnt my lesson in the past!
