[Q] Bluetooth call audio but no media audio - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone had an issue with bluetooth headphones (jabra rox) not connecting to media audio?
It connects just fine to call audio but it just says "connecting" to the media audio checkbox.
Any ideas?

BTW does anyone know what that darn "N" icon that is beside the alarm icon?

N Icon is showing that NFC is enabled. Near Field Communication

[Q] Bluetooth Media Audio defaults to On

I want to use the bluetooth phone connection in my VW Golf, but not the media audio connection. I untick the Media Audio option under Bluetooth settings -> long press VWPHONE, but it always defaults back to being ticked the next time it connects. This is annoying because the phone routes the sat nav directions (CoPilot and Google Nav) over the Bluetooth audio connection, and sometimes auto starts the last media file on the phone.
Is there a way to force the phone not to default back to being ticked? Or turn off Bluetooth Audio for all connections (I never use this feature)?

I have a VW golf too with bluetooth on my phone and I am using it for playing song and answers my phone. But not for navigation...
I'am not sure of what your question is... Can you clarify?

My issue is that the sat nav verbal instructions are routed over the bluetooth media audio connection. As I'm not using that function on the car stereo it means I don't hear them. If I turn off media audio in bluetooth settings the nav instructions are routed to the phone speaker and so I hear them, and calls are routed to the car stereo. Problem is next time I get into the car the bluetooth media audio defaults to on, so I have to turn it off everytime I get in the car. I'd prefer it to remember the setting, or just turn off bluetooth media audio completely as I don't use it.
Sounds like you have the same issue that I have with a 2010 Seat Ibiza FR. I've noticed that the kit effectively pairs twice with my Atrix, first as a headset then as a media capable device. This approach means that the phone bluetooth setting will never be retained.
I've raised the issue with Seat UK who frankly aren't interested, and have yet to find any way of blocking the 2nd connection from the phone side.
I'd be very interested in any resolution / workaround you can find; this drives me nuts too...

[Q] Anyone has trouble with audio over bluetooth?

Bluetooth audio during phone conversations (Jawbone headset) = no problems
Bluetooth audio from Google Music = no problems
Bluetooth audio from Youtube or Movies = no luck
Anyone else experiencing this?
It might be related to the app. The jawbone likely only uses the hands free bluetooth profile that the phone and google voice may acceptable use, however the other apps may only work with a stereo bluetooth profile which is absent with your jawbone.
Just a thought. There are apps that will route all audio through your headset. Might give one of those a try.
The connected device should show "connected to phone and media audio" if it supports A2DP. If it doesn't, only phone-esque audio plays through the device.

Thank you. This Jawbone was upgraded to support A2DP. I used it with my Atrix without fail. Now, it doesn't work with A2DP on the SGSII AT&T... and yes, it does show "Connected to phone and media audio"... strange... ideas, anyone?

[Q] Bluetooth Autoconnect Issues

I see there are a lot of posts about this for the Galaxy S III but not the DNA.
Coming from the Bionic I have been very happy with the DNA in all areas except the Bluetooth! For whatever reason after pairing my car (2012 Impreza) or headset all subsequent Bluetooth connections must be done manually. I tried the Bluetooth auto connect app and its hit or miss. For the time being I am using Widetoid and created a shortcut to Bluetooth settings in the notification bar.
I tried about everything I could find that was attempted for the S3 with no luck.
Has anyone else encountered this or have any ideas on how to fix.
Thanks
No one here?

I just got a Bluetooth audio adapter for my car to play music and it pairs automatically once the Bluetooth receiver gets power, at least it has so far, ive only used it a few times now, but it looks like its automatic for me.
I can report a similar problem. My 2011 Mitsubishi has a built in multimedia/nav system which always paired perfectly with my Thunderbolt for calls and music. The DNA connects automatically for phone calls, but not for music. When I'm in my car, I can go into bluetooth settings see that it is connected and "phone audio" and "media audio" are both checked, but media audio does not work (my car reports 'no connection'). In order to get media audio to work I have to un-check and then re-check "media audio" while it is connected to the car. I assumed this was a bug in my car's system, but maybe not...

Bluetooth Headset connect voice only no music, sounds etc

Hi, as the title says, I want to connect my BT headset for telephone conversations and nothing else, like music, notifications etc.
What I could do with ease with Galaxy S2. Now, with the lumia, I am on Bluetooth settings and it displays
Jawbone ERA
connected voice, music
I want to connect only to voice and not music. It sends all the sounds to BT and i experience battery drainage in both.
Is it even possible to do it?

Just tested it with Sennheiser MM100 - works. When it says "Music, voice connected" both should be connected and work.
Thanks. I am interested to connect only the voice and not the any other audio and music. Is it possible to connect just the voice like I can with any android?
I just tried, I can not find a way on removing the individual profiles. All or nothing I guess. Do you run music to something else (maybe a by speaker) while the headset is connected for calls?

No, but I have problem with excessive battery consumption on both headset and handset when they are BT connected and all the sounds are sent in the headset.
Well I confirm this has been fixed with the latest connectivity update. Now I am connected to my Jawbone ERA only voice (no music, audio etc) and to my Jawbone JAMBOX music only. It may took a month or so, but better late than ever.

[Q] Auto-play audio when connect to car bluetooth

Hi.
When I connect to the car bluetooth, music automatically starts, of course even if I did not listen music for days. I am using default Walkman.
How to turn it off?

If I uncheck "connect with multimedia function" in options of Car BT (only telephone function active) problem dissapear. But for me it is no solution.
I prefer possibility playing music but only with manual start, and without switch deep functions.
In Xperia Z it was possible but I forgot how.

No I mean if you check smart connect, it may be auto playing the music because of "event occuring bluetooth connected", don't uncheck multimedia audio in the bluetooth settings otherwise you wont get audio from your phone when playing music or videos etc,
I've got my phone connected to my pc via bluetooth right now and it isn't autoplaying music when I disconnect/reconnect bluetooth (I've been toying around with it) and it seems it'll only autoplay music if I set up the smart connect event.
Please explain where I can find this option?
For now in SmartConnect in Events tab I have four events, all are OFF.
In first tab I have BT headset, charger etc and of course Car BT but inside there are the same options as for ex BT mono headphone.

Hmm, if all the events are turned off then I'm not sure, could it be your car stereo requesting the music to be played immediately on connection?
I checked it out and I did not find any such options, this is rather standard (basic) BT device.
Right I've just been to my car to check if my Z2 plays automatically when it connects to my car's bluetooth and it doesn't, I have to press play on my car stereo or the walkman app for music to play.
I have to ask though, with your original Xperia Z, what version of Android is it running? I ask this because it's only been since Android 4.3 that bluetooth audio and associated protocols have been fully put to use (excluding any 3rd party bluetooth stacks). My One X is on android 4.1 and only responds to previous and forward from the car stereo the same was true with my HTC Desire on Android 2.3. Z2 on 4.4.2 responds to all the controls and also sends song information to the car stereo, the car stereo is a fairly old JVC KD-BT11.
I think it's more likely that your car stereo is trying to play music automatically when it connects and may have tried to do it with the Z (if the Z wasn't on 4.3). This is all just mostly guesswork, otherwise I have no idea why it's happening.
Hmm.. I have update Xperia Z to 4.3 but as I remeber problem was solved on 4.2.2 or earlier.
Thank you for assistance, tomorrow I will inspect car BT options again and I will back here.
Is it possible that Throw function can make a mess?
When I swith ON Bluetooth (even away of car) I see for a while icon of Throw function... and when I connect to car BT I see it again. When I connect mono BT headphone this icon don't show up...
I've check options in car BT - there is option "auto-play BT" but it is OFF all the time...and music starts automatically.
For me Throw function is mostly suspected...
