I've moved on from T-Mobile to Sprint.
I got the Evo 3d. I have never ordered a phone this way. Usually its only through carrier or in store.
But I figured Id try wirefly.
No deposit.
Went well.
But I have silly worries because im anticipating this phone so much.
Anyone that has used them before?

I've used them a couple of times, and had no problems. Nothing to worry about. I decided to go the Radio Shack route, but that's because I want to make sure I have it at 9am when they open.
just wished you'd of posted that you were looking to get the phone before jumping on wirefly tho
http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Wirefly
They have a pretty good reseller rating over the last 6 months, but it looks like their customer service is crap.
I had a problem getting my HTC Hero from them (although it was back in '09?). I called, answered all information (literally took like 2 hours), and the sales rep continued to try to sell me accessories even though I had said no countless times. Then, the next day, they tell me to email them my SSN for security because Sprint rejected the upgrade or something. I cancelled and ordered straight from Sprint.

They said ill have it the 24th. I hope that's right. Anyone ever pre order from them?
Did you get the phone on release day?

I ordered my wife's Epic from them for $149.99 ($100 less then the Sprint stores launch price) and was very happy with the customer service and fast delivery time. Although as someone above stated they did try to push accessories and insurance on me, no big deal, I just turned them down.
I ordered my EVO 3D from them about two weeks ago for $149.99 with no shipping or tax (of which Sprint charges the full retail price of the phone for), so that was a huge savings. I was concerned about shipping times but after a recent call to them I was told it would be shipped on the release date of the 24th, and I should have it in 2 business days.
I will let you know how it went after I get my phone, but right now I feel pretty comfortable buying from Wirefly.
Don't know if anyone saw, but the "HTC Store" is taking pre-orders too.
http://shopamerica.htc.com/cell-phones/productdetail.htm?prId=39065
I just noticed it today. I was hoping to find accessories, but stumbled upon this instead.
So this is what I found out about wirefly. They were great. Great service. But one thing. I was robbed of my shipping fee.
How you say?
I paid 7.99 for 2day buisness. A couple different reps told me the phone should arrive friday.
It will not be here till Monday. Fedex is taking its sweet time.
It makes no since to pay that damn 2buisness day if you know damn well you wont make release.
I mean unless wirefly had it to me on friday. they should have told me it would make no difference with how they ship and saved me the 7.99.
Yes 179 is nice for the phone. But you add 8 bucks and 188. Or 199 and have it friday.
So in my view if you are intrested in which way to go. Just go to sprint. Or a walk in dealer.

Pre ordered E3D from Best Buy a few weeks ago and they never called me. No worries since I received my E3D Tuesday from Sprint.
Just surprised they forgot about me
Its all good enjoying my new toy
Mine hasnt and wont call. I called them last night tho and they just said come whenever. Think it depends on the store and how big of a city you live in on the way they handle things.

Yea same here. My guess is my store didn't have a lot of pre-orders so they didn't bother scheduling people.
Gonna pick mine up tonight after work.

I also pre-ordered at Best Buy and didn't think I would get a call either. Last night I received a call at round 8ish and it was Best Buy asking me to set up an appointment. I've now had my phone for about an hour and enjoying it.
Yea, had an appointment at 9:15 this morning......things were kinda slow there...Gainesville, Florida...kinda makes you wonder about the economy....
they kinda put the hard sale on ya there though....with the screen protectors, and the car chargers , and the cases...and the insurance, and the buy back program..never said no so many times in my life....except with my two year old son...of course....
I have come from the hero so this phone is unreal.......

Same here Hero to E3D
It probably has to do with how each store handles their pre orders, i work at Radio Shack and we called all of our pre order customers.
BB called me last night and said to come in anytime after they open. They had one set aside for me. I told them I already received one from Sprint so I didn't need it.
Went in first thing this morning and nobody was there. There was the manager of the Mobile department messing with a 3D. I went to return the gift card and after about 20 minutes of them trying to figure out how to do it, they finally just gave me cash for it. I'm glad I didn't let these bozos activate my phone. Something surely would have went wrong.
Any of you have SERO-P when you went and upgraded? Seems a person over at PPCGeeks posted about issues getting Best Buy to activate the phone. A Sprint rep in store said Best Buy doesn't get reimbursed for SERO deals so they can't do it there.
I never heard of that one before. Most everything I've read about Best Buy is that if you have SERO-P going in, it should be no real issues other than getting the sales rep to call the employee line instead of normal CS.
I'm picking my phone up after work tonight and am on SERO-P.
Someone on CL texted me recently asking if I wanted to trade my 3VO for an Optimus V that was hacked to never receive a bill. I didn't ask how, simply "No thanks" however this doesn't seem possible or legal. Should I do anything or just ignore this person?

I remember an old, old hack for a Phillips Savvy that with a bit of solder you could hack it to each reboot be reloaded with £10 credit... I wonder if anyone is still using those phones - I think I have one in my loft somewhere with a bunch of other phones.
but no - I agree doesn't sound legal at all.
He's most likely full of it, but it would definitely be illegal lol. I wouldn't do much more than passing any information you have on him to his carrier.

lol, I think you could say a phone with a blacklisted ESN is hacked to never receive a bill.
I used to live at an apartment where for some reason the cable company used to never charge me for paid on demand movies/events.
Suckers.
Maybe he would take your address and email address from your evo 3d and use that information to steal your mail to make sure that you never recieve a bill again.
lol some good responses. I was in a rush to get to work when I got the text messages so when things calmed down it hit me - a contract is a contract you will always have a bill until it ends/cancels.
To me the guy is just a joke but I'm sure to less tech savvy people he's causing problems.

I got away with this for almost 3 years except it was that the complex once supplied cable to the residents but they cancelled doing it. However, Comcast forgot to come out and disconnect it...for three whole years lol. Came home from work one day and there were green letters on every door in the complex and I knew what it was before I even got out of the car.

Don't knock on speedupmypc.com! It only cost me 2 payments and it made my internet go faster! Now I can check my email 'blazing fast'
But seriously, I love how in those commercials, every person is over the age of 45, simply because no one under the age of 30 is stupid enough to buy into it. Appeal to the 50+ demographic, speedupmypc.com, kudos to you.

This reminds me. When I first got Sprint it was with a SERO account. I ordered a phone (Mogul) and they accidently sent me 2 but only charged me for one. I called Sprint and they had no idea what was going on but told me to send one back. So I sent one back. The next month I realized they put a $200 credit on my account. I called them back and told them what happened and even explained my theory about them refunding me for the phone I returned. The CSR assured me they would fix it. They never did. SERO was about $30/month so I ended up with like half a yr of free services. I'm still with Sprint and SERO.

This happened to me.. sort of. I ordered an a900 through the phone. Got desperate, called and canceled it and got it at the store. Then got one in the mail afterwards. Never called or got charged. Activated it after one of them got really damaged. And they said nothing...

Ok here are to more stories...
I before I lived in the apartment where comcast didn't charge me for paid on demand, I lived at another apartment and came home to a letter from comcast explaining up to that day I was receiving service by mistake so they disconnected it. I was living there for like a year and a half. I was the sucker that time.
Another time I got fired from Wells Fargo so the manager made a credit(bank lingo) and paid for the hours of that pay period. About a week later, I get a direct deposit for the same amount from them. Then I closed my account. Suckers.

You have 30 days from purchase to match.
I got mine for $59 through Wal-Mart the week prior. Still worth it IMO.
Got mine for 100 bucks quite a while back. I'd say anything less is a massive steal.

I contacted Best Buy (888#) and requested the $50 credit. I purchased my LG E970on 3/2/12 for $99 and was in the 15 day Price Match by one day. The rep put me on hold, came back, took down my info and said that I would get a call back letting me know the status of my credit. I was concerned that I would not hear back from BB and he said that I would get a return call within 48 hours. Needless to say, no call back so I called back and was told that BB no longer offers the Price Match on contracted cell phone as of 3/2/12. Great. I went back and read the small print details and yup, it does say that. Argh.
Going to go into store tomorrow and talk to a manager and push for the $50.00 Heck for $50.00 I would have returned the darn thing and bought it again. I can play their game too. I will add that I did not receive a call back as promised.
Did you go to an actual best buy store, or best buy Mobile? I went to the mobile store at my local mall and they price matched and gave me a $50 credit, no questions asked.

Interesting, I called AT&T to see about getting an early upgrade (March instead of May). I was told that they could only do 30 days early. My brother had a similar convo with them about a year ago. Seems like it's luck of the draw on who you actually get on the call.

I contacted the store that I purchased the phone from and the manager did issue me the $50 credit BUT ONLY because she didn't want an unhappy customer. She made sure to inform me that company police no longer offers price guarantee on cell phone.....yeah yeah yeah......
edit: Sorry this was not a sitewide coupon like previous ebay holiday coupons.
That's not a bad price at all for someone that wants one, nice. I'm still quite amazed I got my two V30's for $50 each recently, I thought the days of me getting crazy awesome deals on electronics were over. I was surprised once more when they showed up on craigslist and even more surprised at the fact that the ad for them had been posted for nearly 7 hours which is a literal lifetime given the pricing on the posting. I guess nobody here in my area knows a good deal or a good smartphone when they see 'em.
THEIR LOSS, MY GAIN
Don't forget about this 15% off eBay coupon code! Expires in a couple of days.
This 15% coupon is only valid on Home & Garden items. Won't work on phone purchases. I tried.

I'm sorry. Someone else pointed out it's not the "site wide" holiday coupon eBay has given out a few times before. I didn't read the fine print. I've used the site wide (every item eligible) holiday coupons twice before, last year for Father's day week and before Christmas. I thought the was the same. Very sorry.
No harm done, buddy. Heck, some users might have tried to use the coupon for a V30, but then ended up using it for a lawn mower or Weber grill instead
