Knox isn't the problem. Updated efs partition is the problem. Without an /efs partition backup from before 4.3 you have no chance.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
@umair42: forget 4.1. Flash NCSROM and slow is history.
You can flash a kitkat rom, like back-to-n00t that is so fast and light, I hope this can help you

Hi guyz. My phone showed up a OTA. It's only 21,99 MB. I'm running Alliancerom 6.1 XWLS8. On the attachment there's no 21,99 MB written, but it is!
Question is: Can I install it On Alliancerom 6.1? Will it brick my phone?

that would be the update to LSD reckon it to be ok to install but would recomend downloading and installing alliance 7.1 LSD based that will stop the update. As its an install of an updated rom a wipe is not completely unnecessary but still recommended.
Don't forget the golden rule......backup backup backup

Hi, I have an i9100P on O2 upgraded to official stock 4.1.2 and I am having problems find an exact way to root, with the intention of then upgrading CWM Recovery to at least 6.0.4.3 so I can install Resurrection_Remix_KK_v5.1.1-20140507-i9100.zip KitKat ROM

As far as I can make out I can use Philz kernel (does anyone know the exact version for my phone, as I cannot post in his thread).
Can anyone confirm if these are all compatible with my phone.
Also, I thought I read somewhere that ROM Manager doesnt like this phone, is this true? If so, can I just upgrade to a Kitkat compatible CWM Recovery by flashing it in the recovery installed with Philz kernel?
I am basing my info on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/philz-cwm6-stock-kernel-cwm6-root-exfat-t1877270
And this article http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-roms/how-to-install-android-4-4-kitkat-rom-on-galaxy-s2-gt-i9100sgh-i777/
Thank you for any info you may have.
can someone please help me root this device?

Are you on the same Build Number? If not, then most likely it'd be a different method.
I checked and it's the exact same build number. I tried like every program there is to root it but none worked so far. Can u help me? ( us)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-mini/general/galaxy-s4-mini-plus-t3041208/page9 - The easier way would be to try #86. If that doesn't work, then follow the link to recoveries in #85 and use a custom recovery to install the newest SuperSU zip from Chainfire. If something goes wrong, you can find your firmware here to restore: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9195I/

Look up user Kevin quintana (kevinwithtecg) on youtube. He has a step-by-step process to revert the phone to 4.4.2, root it, then upgrade back to 4.4.4 while maintaining root. I used it and it works perfectly. It will however wipe your phone clean (contacts, apps, etc.), so save those and reup.
Hello all... I am planning to root my Galaxy Mega 6.3 I9200 phone, I have been doing a ton of reading through forums and it seems that the build number matters in the process... I have searched with the " " and there is nothing about my specific build number which is kot49h.i9200ubudng1 . I would really like to root my phone but it is my only phone at the moment and it is an older phone. All of the posts i have found were from 4-5 years ago. Below is a screenshot of my phone info and I would really like to find out if it is possible to root. Please point me in a direction that I could root it safely and effectively... I would prefer to do it without a one-click app or any type of 3rd party, I would also like a good way to backup the phone to my pc just in case anything goes wrong. Thank you for any help that I recieve.
