So : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blackberry.keyboard
We want this keyboard, and not others like this, but this specific keyboard on us tmo V10 .
We have root and so i ask :good:some Dev to port it on V10
The BlackBerry keyboard is just a slightly revised version of SwiftKey: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey
I know this because when they introduced the Z10/OS 10, the first thing I thought when they were advertising its predictive ability and such was that it sounded just like SwiftKey. Sure enough, they'd used a lot of the same APIs.

I'm Chinese on mainland of China. Today I read a news about the so called "Android Window System ". First of all I just think it would be a ugly copycat of floating apps or something similar, but while I was watching the demo video I was totally shocked. It might be really a breakthrough for android tablet in my eyes. I don't know how many of you can read Chinese and can link to this video site due to China's Government Firewall, but if you can, you must have a look.
The news site : http://www.cnbeta.com/articles/244878.htm
The video site : http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNTgzMjAwNDMy.html?x
(there are three demo videos in the news, I post one of the video address here, you can find all the three in the last of the news. If anyone interested in helping me to post in YouTube, just contact me. )

This is no different than Samsung releasing their devices with multi-window.
What you've shown is a Rockchip's device running Rockchip's version of the Android OS on 4.2.2 with the multi-window UI implemented.
This is not Android 4.3, 5.0, 6.0, or 9.0.
Please do not spread misinformation! Do your research! It'd be nice to have but...

I didn't mention it is any official Android version. It's true that it is for Rockchip's devices and use Rockchip's own sdk. I just wanted to show you guys what these devices can actually do. Multiwindow may not be useful on phones, but I want it on my tablet, and I believe many nexus10 owners think the same.

I understand. I was just saying it's similar to what Samsung released with their multi-window. They already showed it can be done. Rockchip just did there's much better. N10 is capable of anything but unless someone that can do this, for free, it's just more eye-candy. Cornerstone was there but Google intervened, more or less, and we're back to square one. Devs can most definitely utilize cornerstone but they don't. Why is that? Google.
Cool, but not going to happen just yet.

It is highly desirable that Google implemented in the next version of Android (4.3 or 5.0) MULTI management of native to their Nexus devices.

Cornerstone was stopped by Google because it supposedly caused lots of issues

I know they did. I said they intervened.
CM tried to but Google stopped them. It was mostly due to the integrity of app Window resizing.

With all these features from htc, samsung and moto being made available in one form or another.
How come come multi window has never been separated in some way to other devices?
It seems like a great feature to port or make better since samsungs version is limited without root.

With Google announcing 4.4 will be called Kitkat, what do you guys think? I personally would have rathered key lime pie. And what are you looking forward to out of the newest release?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
I don't like Nestle as a company and the idea of injecting a Nestle trademark on Android ecosystem and it's version history will be something that will take me really long to digest if I'll ever do. They should stick to non trademarked stuff, Key Lime Pie was ok. Even if I was OK with Nestle I don't really like the name KitKat to be honest and I bet it's not just me. Apart from the name I'm looking forward to what it will bring, the name is just a name and it's just a promotional thing. The number 4.4 to me sounds like it won't be far from JB in the same style JB wasn't far from ICS so for sure I don't expect a UI overhaul.
I like the new name and the added advertising will play to Google and the KitKat brand's benefit.
Google Android is going to pretty much finish locking the market down - a further smack to Apple, Microsoft, and BlackBerry. Microsoft needs to step their game up, give all devices the same OS with minor differences and needs to ensure that a x86/ARM wrapper works. With those changes, Microsoft will have a chance to come back in a market they could have dominated from day 1.

There's new button on navigation bar called MW-button. When it is long pressed a new screen appears that is split in two. Each having an application drawer where all applications can be scrolled. On clicking an application, it appears in the split view on that side.
Would love for Paranoid Android to have MultiWindow but the developers involved have stated a few times that Multi Window won't be implemented.
I love this mock up! wish it can come true
This can be done with Xposed and the XMultiWindow module.
Or xhalo floating windows, also an xposed module, mostly works a treat.
The Nexus 5, like the Nexus 4, is based off of another LG phone, right? Namely the G2, as the N4 was based on the Optimus G. And people have been porting the Split Window feature from the Flex to the G2 since they're essentially the same phone, so is it possible to port over again?
I like the idea but I won't implement it till it can be proven that haven't two apps are useful while using only half the screen.
Let's assume that another app is only one click away. Under want circumstances would having two apps at be useful understanding that you can see half the content you usual do are useful? For most apps I have found the screen size to be small for two applications especially while utilizing the keyboard. There is simple not enough space for two applications . Until this can be proven more useful than having a temporary mini application then it won't be supported in PA.

I would like this feature too. I use it for college when typing and researching (Brower/OfficeSuite).

agree
Nubia X6 have this function
Would love this option. Mostly to be able to listen to Youtube and using the phone for whatever else at the same time. But there might be easier solutions for this 'problem'...

I use multi-window a lot on galaxy note 8. If you are learning a new language you will find it invaluable. In fact any ROM without multi-window capability is unsuitable for a tablet.
I feel like this feature is far more relevant with the Nexus 6 in the game...
Has anyone learn if this is in the making?, would love to have this on the nexus 6....to put this on top of all Androids' Family

We already stated that it won't be worked on.

Has anyone found a solution to run multi-window, like on the LG G4 or LG V10? I know q-slide a solution was found and also the app drawer downloaded LG launcher. I want to buy this phone but only if I can run two apps at the same time.
Thank You
Everyone
you are aware of the fact LG did not implement it for the LG G5 yet because android N will bring it out of the box?

That's a bad excuse by LG if that's their reasoning. However, I don't really miss the feature, on a phone it's kind of useless.
Sent from my LGLS992 using Tapatalk
It is one thing that Android M is gonna bring some features, multi windows included, it is entirely another that it's gonna be implemented across all boards, especially when you look at some heavily skinned UI.
Like, app drawer is a native feature, what about the G5 and the plethora of Chinese smartphones? Adoptable storage? No worries, Android 6 has it. G4? G5? Galaxy S and Note series ?
So, no, it is not a given that we'll have multi windows feature when N comes along. Features are not there until they are, and at the moment, I don't see as to why LG would make us wait so many months until N is out to offer us a proper multi windows solution.
It is like when manufactures release new phones with a outdated Android version and saying "update is coming shortly", sometimes, it is a trimester... We've been to long into this game to get caught time and time again by the same catchphrase.

Has anyone searched the system files to see if it exist in the software just hidden as such?
The Xposed module: XMultiWindow may work for you... I have yet to try it tho, so tread lightly.
