What is the largest Micro SD card Android can read? Hypothetically, if there was a 1tb card out would Android be able to use it? If not, what is the current max?

The V10 is said to support up to 2TB from a micro SD card. I haven't seen one near 1TB, but that's not something I search for regularly.

I purchased the SanDisk 200GB microSD from Amazon 2 months ago when it was on sale for about $130. It's a good card, read speeds are up to 80MB/s, but write speeds are about 15MB/s as tested on my PC (using a USB3 card reader) and Note 4. Others have seen the same slow write speeds with it.

So to answer your question, the current largest SD card is 512GB. To get it to work on all recent Android phones, you'll need an SD to Micro SD adapter. Both of which I have included in the previous post.
We all know what s/he meant. No need to be snippy by correcting the term.

Actually, I typed too fast but if you refer to the title of the post, I was asking about a "mini", which I confused with micro. I left that out in the body of my question, so I apologize.
No need to be "snippy" (thanks that's the perfect description @SprManKalEl). I do appreciate the quick education though, and I'll try to use the correct terms in the future.
Please, don't respond nasty, that's not why I come here. I have enough stress and aggravation in my life, as I'm sure you do as well. Let's remain friendly, and I mean that in a sincere way.

The 1tb and 2tb one will be release some time next year seeing that stores in the us has the 512 one now i got mine 6 months ago when they first showed up in china when they were testing the bugs. right now the 1tb or 102gGB ones are just showing up but they go for 300 to 400 each so yeah i'm waithing form them to fixes the bugs before i spend over $20. seeing that they don't have any to test yet but i'll be getting the 1tb in jannary some time and i'll tell you how it goes.

Well, I bought the 64GB microSDXC card, so it needs to be used!
No microsd card slot? I was waiting for this phone but not now. I just bought a 64 gb card too. If I wanted to be limited on space I would buy an iphone. What a let down.
We're comin from a pure power source.
If there's no SD card slot than you can forget about it. On some of them they're just sealing the SD cards in so you can't upgrade them.

Is it a SanDisk? The stock 8gb card that comes with our phone overperforms what it is rated which made me go with the 32gb class 4 due to the many negative remarks from other cards that are class 10 but underperforms (PNY mainly)

Exactly, which means the pic isn't the current version of the phone. It was probably an early test model but im sure its been redesigned a bunch of times since then. No matter though, we'll see next week. I would expect a sprint version to be totally different than whats shown off at MWC.

Since when do you need a water proof/shock proof flash drive? Lost track the number of times I've inadvertently washed a sd or microsd card in the laundry, let it dry, plugged it in and had it working just fine. Can't say that I've ever exposed them to excessive forces but I'm not certain that they would make much difference anyway

Lol I was laughing at that as well, that they marketed it as "waterproof and shockproof." Flash memory isn't subject to water damage (unless it has power going to it) nor shock. Just a marketing gimmick lol.

I'm going to wait for prices to drop some more, it doesn't seem like I need more than 32gb at the moment for my needs, including music and movies.
i have a 64gb ultra, never had an issue. sandisk carries lifetime warranty on their cards, samsung is 1 year iirc.

Do a speed test on it. I'd like to see this. Most the speeds are restricted by the phone or kernel. Mine claims 30MB/s but doesn't get it. I get 6.6MB write and about 12MB read on that SanDisk card.

Actually Samsung makes some of the better cards. I would also recommend Kingston and Corsair for a SDCard because they make the best computer memory.
One company I would avoid is Patriot. Their stuff is slow and buggy with craptacular tech support.

And works fine and quick.
The 32GByte, also samsung, works fine too and all card-readers can read/write on it.
If sgs1 is conneted to pc the 64 GByte card can be used.
