Has anyone found a stock LG boot and shutdown animation for the V10 yet?
I tried the one from the LG G4, but it plays the QuickCircle versions only (logo in the top half of the screen), and if I switch the images inside the ZIP file, the phone just boots with a black screen and then locks up.
Been looking around too. ??? The stock one I found so far has the LGU animation.

What is LGU?
BTW, if you delete bootanimation.zip, you will see the stock Android one - just the "android" logo in grey. Better that than nothing.

Try this.. The unbranded international models that aren't out yet will have the boot animations we're all looking for
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3248942
I actually went ahead and made my own boot animation. It's just a still of the LG V10 logo (white) on a plain black background, no sounds. I really didn't like the T-Mobile one, and I didn't care for the LG one either.
The H961 system pull is now up, which is unbranded. You can grab the boot and shutdown animations from /system/media here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/development/pull-dual-sim-lg-v10-t3248910
Flashable ZIP here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/themes-apps/stock-boot-animations-sounds-flashable-t3248942
Installed the boot animation. Thank u way better than the stock one.

Download one of the stock distributions, extract what you want from there, and put that on your phone. Good to go. If you don't know how to do this yet, you'll improve your mind.

get stock rom and extract it then.
there are quite a few different options in that thread, so make sure you are getting the right one. there are tons of boot animations out there, and they seem simple enough to make... so if all fails just do it yourself
So I deleted the jellybeans Bootanimation.zip and installed the stock boot animation. and now I have an android boot animation... Where did that come from? Anyone k ow why it's using that animation instead of the stock files I installed?

That is the stock animation that is played when there is no other boot animation. Most of the custom kernels do not support the Samsung format. They instead support the more standard bootanimation.zip. If there isn't a bootanimation.zip, the stock animation is played instead.
If you check out Scott's ROM threads, he has a downloadable zip with a set of custom boot animations, one of which is very similar to the stock Samsung animation.
I started seeing the Samsung "Custom" boot screen with the unlocked icon after installing a custom rom. Not to sound stupid, but what exactly does this mean? Is it good, bad, or should it be ignored?

I'm new to Verizon the G3 is my first phone with this carrier. Why does Verizon remove the stock browsers?
I'm having trouble with Chrome's latest update causing rendering problems on Web pages with animated GIFS on them. I went to go look for the LG browser and to my surprise there was none. Did a search and found this thread...
Just weird.

When I joined the edge program, I traded in my unlocked, rooted Galaxy S3. When I traded in my Note 3 for the LG G3, it was also rooted. All they care is that the device boots up and isn't damaged.
I'm debating jumping to the Nexus 6 when it comes out, it all depends on dev support now that the G3 has been opened up.

If I understand correctly, you can't run a Rom with a different base as the stock Rom. So most aosp and lollipop Roms are out. And on my n5 I ran the loli dev preview. Its nice and clean. I loved it.

"Bone up"? So are you saying I'm dead wrong? I thought that was the case. It had to have the same base or something. I don't know. I figured if it was completely open I'd see things like AOKP, CM, and PA... but like I said. I'm familiar with the nexus line.
