You must have Manilla 2D Installed in order to run this program
you can get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398173
Manilla 2D Skins!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425974
This is an BETA version of the project, I am doing it for my own benefit at this point, feel free to use this tool, but I offer no guarantee that it will work, or that it won't delete your original Manilla 2D settings, or that I will continue to develop/support it.
I am a MFC programmer by day, but this is my first Windows Mobile project, so go easy on the comments please
Acknowledgments
Once TF2D came out I immediately tried to install and run the Diamond TF3D Config 0.6.7 by sushilange, unfortunately it didn't work, I started to follow the thread but have come to the conclusion that it is a Diamond App and will most likely not be tailored to work with Manilla 2D
I am starting this project because I do not like my home screen too cluttered so I disable a fair amount of tabs in Manilla2D and wanted a way to do this that was simpler than hand editing xml files...
First there are many people to thank because in no way am I trying to take credit for other peoples work
Thanks to udk, noonski, vetvito, hergzilla and the rest for getting Manilla 2D out and working, I was in the forums while vetvito and noonski were finishing and releasing the first beta and despite how geeky it sounds I must say that it was a pretty exciting time
Thanks to sushilange for inspiration via his diamond TF3D config program

(thanks to wmexperts.com for reporting on it back in July http://www.wmexperts.com/articles/howto/hack_away_at_touchflo_3d.html)
and finally thanks to camro for his post that started me down the path of tweaking my setup

one last thanks to emunutz for the original HTC home Customizer

v0.29.235
- 2nd attmpt at fixing digital clock shift bug
Jan-30-2009
v0.28.233
- fixed digital clock shift bug
Dec-13-2008
v0.27.232
- added "Apply the settings to all fonts" button on the font dialog
- increased the color picker drop down combo box length
- updated donator list
Dec-01-2008
v0.26.230
- updated donator list
- added option to not update the TabIcons images and settings from a new skin
UPDATE Nov-29-2008
v0.25.227
- added new dialog with 1 option "Don't update Weather Tab", so you can choose if you
want to use your existing weather settings or use the new weather settings
UPDATE Nov-24-2008
Nov-24-2008
v0.24.225
- fixed background bug, only worked with "\Windows\ManilaGFX" folder, now works with
"\Windows" folder too.
- fixed some formatting on the m2dct inside of a zip file warning box
- moved some code around so you are not waiting for 5 seconds after you hit apply,
now the spinning cursor should come up immediately
UPDATE Nov-24-2008
v.0.23.223
- added a new background page that will let you specify a png image to use as the
Manila2D background. Right now there is no way to go back to the "default"
background, only restoring a theme, or applying a new theme can change your
background. This feature only supports "hh_fw_background.png" files that are
located in "\Windows" and "\Windows\MainlaGFX" which should satisfy 99% of users
but if you have issues let me know and I will read the value directly from the
HTCHomeSettings.xml file
- fonts drop down boxes are much larger now, much more easy to read
- added warning about a theme file that contains an m2dct file, hopefully this will
cut down on some confusion
- updated donator list
UPDATE Nov-11-2008
v.0.22.215
- added an internet page that allows you to set a different default internet browser
for Manila 2D version 20 (build 1.0.1820.3328)
UPDATE Nov-10-2008
v.0.21.213
- added more fonts [Messaging, interent, settings, weather] (Manila2D v20 only)
- added ability to add a folder of themes in the theme manager, this folder will
be remembered and every time you restart M2DC will look for new themes in that
folder
- updated donator list (I think)
- fixed build process (again... stupid devenv not knowing how to handle dependencies)
- uninstaller no longer applies your backed up theme
UPDATE Nov-04-2008
v0.20.207
- reverted xml file handling back to the version 13 method, the new method caused the latest
build of M2DC to not load after a theme was set through M2DC.
- updated about page with new donators
- added new font entry for the weather pag error text
- fixed a spelling error (thanks p1tater)
UPDATE Nov-02-2008
v0.19.203
- Added 2 new font items, weather tab low temperature, and weather tab forecast temperature
neither of thee will allow a color to be set, not sure why, if you figure it out please
let me know
- removed experimental WM5 support... the cab will allow installation on a WM 5 device,
but this app is being built with the WM6 SDK. The WM5 support messed up my build process
- fixed bug with version not being displayed correctly on the about page (see above reason)

MY 1.0 TODO LIST
- Add support for setting the default folder to open in the file manager dialog
- Add backup/restore for the registry key [HKLM\SOftware\HTC\Manila2D]
- "Implement the possibility to choose custom icons for the launcher. That could be a drop down list of the launcher buttons, where one can choose which button, and a button to choose the path for the icon."
REASONABLE REQUESTSThese are things that have been requested that I think are reasonable, they are not at the top of my list at the moment, but they may make it there in the future
- Add support for detecting what a theme file contains... ie make m2DC smart enough to know if the theme file is only weather icons, or that the theme file does not have an analog clock, If the theme file does not contain something in the xml or contain the actual files then don't use the xml or files for that settings
- Add support for picking and choosing which parts of a theme to apply. Show a list of theme components with check boxes that the user can check and un-check the specific things that he want sot apply. (only apply digital clock form theme A, only apply background and tabs from theme B, only apply weather icons from theme C)
- add option to hide tab bar and the non active tab icons link
- add option to display theme information link
- add option for start menu customization link
- add new favorites to the internet tab link
- add option to change the date format link
- add support for changing the launcher item icon link
- add option to apply welcome screens contained in theme files
- add functionality to be able to apply a skin via a command line argument link
- add support for adding things to the operator tab link
MY WISH LISTThese are things that I want to do, but I will need to invest some significant time into research to get them working
- add option to deal with *.tsk files (maybe copy the file to the windows directory and figure out the proper way to apply the theme in code...)
- add option to extract/apply themes that exist as cab files? (extract cab file contents on the fly cabextract.org)
REQUESTSI doubt I will do any of these things (I try to give a reason as to why)
- Add an option to auto rotate the applied skin every 30 minutes or so
Reason I don't see how this really benefits anyone, maybe I will do it after everything else on this list is done, but that will probably never happen. Maybe I will add command line arguments so that you can create a mortscript or something
- change tab functionalitynew run method
Reason This uses a 3rd party program that I did not develop, and it seems pretty extreme, If a simpler method is found I will re evaluate this request
- add new tabs
Reason I have no idea how to do this, I know that they can do it for Manilla3D, and i looked into it, but right now I have no idea how to do it for Manilla2D. When someone figures this out let me know and I will see if I can put it into M2DC
- add custom cities to the weather widget
Reason right now this is possible to do by hand, my city is in the default htchomesettings.xml file already, adding the ability to connect to the internet and get information from a website will take a lot of time and effort on my part, and I think that my time would be better dedicated to the more important features of M2DC
- Add option to have more than 1 upcoming appointment on the home screen
Reason I have no idea how to do this, and I don't use the calendar on my device so I always end up hiding even the 1 appointment on the home screen.
- Allow for more rows and columns in the people tab
Reason The people tab xml is just one huge mess, it is really hard to do by hand, and just thinking about the code that I would have to write to make this work makes my head hurt. I don't use the people tab right now so I don't think I will put myself through the pain of doing this. Let me know if this is a huge request for you.
- Smart phone compatibility
ReasonI do not own a smart phone, and I have only received 1 request for this, let me know if there are more people that want this
wow great tool , thank you

KNOWN ISSUES:
- must be installed to the device, paths are hard coded for now
- not sure how well this will run on non English roms, right now some paths are hard coded such as "\Program Files\M2DC"
- icon is fugly, needs some work (help appreciated)
- restore defaults doesn't truly restore defaults, it just restores the entire HTCHomeSettings.xml file from when you first ran this tool
- ???
* All of these issues should be addressed in a future release

u may want to talk to user/rom guru "garmin" about ur icons..or even "bluemetalaxe".. to me they got the best icons around.
YES!!!! Can get rid of some of these useless tabs.... and maybe a way of custom weather soon? Closest one is New York City... about 3hrs away.
Just a suggestion can this be registered with apptodate? Makes updating my phone so much easier
if you could make it wm standard friendly. as without being able to select a tab and then hit move up without scrolling through the list to the bottom.
but this works on windows mobile standard using my mobiler
Nice work. The ability to change what app/plugin goes into a tab would be nice if possible. I would like to use Weather Panel instead of HTC Weather and to change the Homescreen.
Wow excelent, great work!
Just a couple of requests....
Could it be possible to choose....
Add more buttons to launcher by pcarvalho:

thanks for rubbing it in..
i havent been able to get weather since the release!
so whats ur secret?
look for the HH_409_weather_cities.xml or something named like that in the \windows directory....copy that to your computer>open the xml file with either an xml editor like xml notepad 2007(free) or notepad.edit any of the top cities and insert you city name, location, state etc...and insert your zipcode or weather code(get this from www.accuweather.com,located at the end of url).save and overwrite in windows directory, soft reset and your set.

About the icon, if you like this, here is my small contribution:
Attached already in .ico format.

Hopefully this app can grow to be as versatile as SSMaPa. I would like the ability to change what the calendar link points to, etc.
Great work on the first step.
cannot uncheck tab on Udk Polaris manila ROM
The tabs in UDK Polaris manila2D ROM cannot be unchecked. The program runs but the same config comes back again after the program exists and reload TF2D.
The same thing for 6x4 launcher....
I am doing something wrong or the ROM is locked so that it cannot be changed? Please advise.
thks
>>>Edit
I can manual edit HTCHomesettings.xml file and able to remove mail, internet, and location tabs and also copy the setting from pcarvalho 6X4 launcher. THANKS pcarvalho! I now have 6x4 launcher on UDK polaris manila2D ROM! COOL!!!
you saving many lifes now
it would be really great if functionality could be added to change where widgets link to or possibly change urls without editing xml.
so people can use custom calendars/different internet browser/install things in different locations etc ^^
Nice program though

Voyd Black (VGA) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=543255
To Do
- Finger friendly configurator: Make sure all options are available in it
- Consistent number formatting (maybe) so it all shows up as (xxx) xxx-xxxx
- Suffix in details view too
- More actionable details items (google maps for address?)
- Category selection menu is not very friendly...
- Make use of HTC sensors - maybe the wheel can quickly scroll through the list and swiping left to right can change which number is in the list
- Customize order of items in bottom menu
- Details view needs a scroll bar just like the main view
- When doing a keyboard letter jump and then immediately going into a T9, it will still jump around by scrolling instead of being instant.
- With the "exit on action" option checked, calls initiated thru iContacts AE will INTERMITTANTLY cause the in-call screen to disappear

Latest changes
Current Version: 7.0.6
- You can now disable iContact's ability to dial using the hardware phone dial key (the "green" button) and quit/minimize when pressing the hardware hangup (the "red" button). If, like me, you remap all your hardware buttons, including phone buttons, this will be most welcome. It is enabled by default since most people expect default behavior from those buttons. See below for information about the setting.
- New setting: EnablePhoneKeyHook = Enables hardware phone key support above (enabled by default) <-- Anybody who can add this to the help for other language files (non-english), please PM me the new .clng file.
- Added USSD support for dialing star (*) numbers on phone systems that support it. THIS IS ENABLED BY DEFAULT since it is supported on most networks. Contributed by Constantin Lushnikov.
- New setting: EnableUSSDStarDialing = Enables USSD support (above) <-- Anybody who can add this to the help for other language files (non-english), please PM me the new .clng file.
- Added better birthday / anniversary support. Contributed by Constantin Lushnikov.
- Added the ability to set the ringtone from within iContact AE. Note: Press and hold to clear a custom ringtone. Contributed by Constantin Lushnikov.
- New language file entry (.lng file): selectringtone - Text displayed when selecting a custom ringtone <-- Anybody who can add this to the help for other language files (non-english), please PM me the new .lng file.
- New language file entry (.lng file): ringtonesavefailed - Text displayed when a ringtone cannot be set <-- Anybody who can add this to the help for other language files (non-english), please PM me the new .lng file.
- New language file entry (.lng file): noringtone - Text displayed when the default system ringtone is being used for a contact (no custom ringtone) <-- Anybody who can add this to the help for other language files (non-english), please PM me the new .lng file.
- There are new skin icons associated with the custom ring tone, anniversary, and birthday. All built-in skins have been updated. These are "small icons." Look at the bottom of the default.skn file for skinning info on these icons.
- New skin contribution: OSX Colored.
- If you add a number to a new or existing contact after receiving/making calls from that number, the entry in the call history will now be updated with the correct name in the main list (it always did link to the correct item in the details). This overrides the entry that is actually in the call log. If there is demand, I'll make an option to toggle this, but I can't see why anybody would want out of date information in the call log.
- Call history now updates its entire call log cache after you make changes to contacts. Previously, you had to toggle through call log modes or restart iContact to get certain details in the call history updated, such as pictures.
- Call history now correctly labels all unknown numbers as UNKNOWN in the detail view. There were cases previously where the number would appear in the title.
- Using a new method to detect the SpeedThresh. The previous method used a timer and there was a variable performance depending on when you let go of your finger versus where the timer was in its ticks. The new method uses tick counts during the finger movement events. It seems to be a much more consistent user experience.
- Fixed a bug where when you looked at contact details from the call log view, frequently the details bottom menu buttons would be unresponsive.
- New setting: CallLogDetailsBackToCallLog = When enabled, when you press the back button on contact details from the call history view, it will return to the call history view (as opposed to jumping to the contacts list) <-- Anybody who can add this to the help for other language files (non-english), please PM me the new .clng file.
- In some cases, the SIP would still show if a stubborn 3rd party process made it appear after iContact received activation, but before the user gets a chance to interact with iContact. So, a timer now waits a second after receiving input focus and makes sure the SIP is hidden.
- The installer will no longer ask if you want to use the existing settings.ini on upgrade. If your existing settings.ini is corrupt, then uninstall and reinstall in TWO STEPS where you will be given a chance to use the default settings.ini.
- The installer now sets the registry setting needed by idialer so idialer knows how to find iContact AE when you select iContacts from within iDialer. (This is untested as I don't use iDialer! Please let me know if it works!)
- Added BMP as a valid file type for assigning a picture to a contact.
- Call log database update notifications are now buffered, so that if four or five updates fire in succession, only a single reload operation will occur. This should improve call log responsiveness in certain circumstances when reloading would unnecessarily occur several times in a row.
- Long-tapping bottom menu items now uses the same delay in the settings. It was previously hardwired to 700ms. The main reason for this change is that long-tapping bottom menu items will increasingly do alternate functions in later versions of iContact AE. Currently, most of the time a long-tap is nearly always the same response as a short-tap.
- Fixed a bug where iContact (and possibly the entire phone) would freeze if an empty category is opened. Contributed by Constantin Lushnikov.
- Workaround contributed by [kab] on xda to fix Samsung call history problem.
- New setting: SamsungHistoryWorkaround = (disabled by default) Changes the way the call database is read to workaround a call history bug on certain Samsung models. <-- Anybody who can add this to the help for other language files (non-english), please PM me the new .clng file.
- New setting: OpenSettingsOnLongTap = (enabled by default) Open the icontact config application by long-tapping the contacts button on the main window <-- Anybody who can add this to the help for other language files (non-english), please PM me the new .clng file.
- New setting: MinimizeOnAction = (disabled by default) Causes iContact to go to the back of the window z-order after performing an action. Normally, iContact hides (goes right behind the dialer or whatever). Minimizing will put iContact to the back of the z-order, so it is not the first window to appear after completing an action. This is an alternative to exiting after action if you want iContact to go away, but not close. <-- Anybody who can add this to the help for other language files (non-english), please PM me the new .clng file.
- New setting: UseClearTypeFonts = (enabled by default) Specify whether you want iContact to render fonts using ClearType smoothing. The default is enabled, which is the same as previous versions. Contributed by Constantin Lushnikov. <-- Anybody who can add this to the help for other language files (non-english), please PM me the new .clng file.
- New setting: ShowRingToneInDetails = (enabled by default) When enabled, the ringtone of each contact is displayed in the details view. Clicking on the ringtone allows you to change it. Contributed by Constantin Lushnikov. <-- Anybody who can add this to the help for other language files (non-english), please PM me the new .clng file.
- New setting: T9EnglishAsPrimary = When enabled (disabled by default), T9 search will always use English as the primary keyboard (user language becomes the secondary keyboard). Please note in older versions English was ALWAYS primary. Contributed by Constantin Lushnikov. <-- Anybody who can add this to the help for other language files (non-english), please PM me the new .clng file.
- New language: Swedish. App translation only (no config translation). Contributed by Lilleolov.
- New language: Greek. App and setting translation (no help translation). Contributed by acrocosm.
you are our superman!
ok, i wish you luck with this.
I think that if this Avian edition were to combine BE with the other version's new ability to retain the windows titlebar, it would be the absolute perfect version.
Great.
Keep us posted.

It is much simpler than the other version, since in BE you just have to say so in the config program.

Hey, this is great news!
I was just looking at the Trubert thread today, disappointed that another new Supbro version had just been released and Burt's edition falling further behind... and was very happy to see you are taking over the development.
Best of luck, and looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

The first step will be finishing the nearly finished Burt's 7.0. He says it's 90% done. Actually, from my testing, the app IS done, it's the finger-friendly config app that needs to be finished, which shouldn't be hard since its mostly just filling in settings. It looks like the engine is (mostly?) done.
Unfortunately, I'm slightly embarrassed to admit, I'm not a super-savvy C++ developer. I'm a super-savvy .Net developer, so getting a handle on some of the C++ stuff will take me time. That's part of the reason I want to solicit as much developer help as possible from others. I would love it if this could be a project with four or five developers working in tandem to add lots of cool new features at a faster pace than in the past. Plus, obviously, having the source code publicly available helps "keep it in the community" should I disappear someday and somebody else want to create their own branch. ;-)
As for an exact date, I don't want to say because then people will say "HEY YOU HAVEN'T RELEASED YET" hahaha. ;-)
Give me some weeks to get a handle on this. I'm working on other projects as well, so my time committment will vary. But if we get more developers, the development will go quicker. That is certain.

Of course this must remain in the documentation, but I don't see why it should be mentioned IN the program.

You are right. I should have been more clear on that. But for the version coming out, the NEW stuff will be 99% Burt, so we should remember who did the work! The version number will be optional on the screen (default: on), so you can keep it or not. The version number will also be available in the config.

Most programs list this stuff on an about screen. Never saw any reason to have it cluttering up the most commonly viewed screens.

I originally posted this application in the Blackstone forum but having since modified it to support most resolutions I decided to post it in a more general location. Here is the original thread.
What does it do? It allows you to create, save and manage shopping lists on your mobile device. You can create them on the fly and save them for future use, or you can create a master shopping list with common items that can be put into a new shopping list for whatever adventure you set forth on.
It also includes a Windows (PC) based utility for those "power" users who like to manage large, multi-tab lists. It simplifies typing up large lists of items and it also transfers them directly to your device if it is connected.
Information:
You no longer need to uninstall previous version(s) before installing the latest version!
If you have AppToDate you can use that to update the application to the latest version!
This requires .NET compact flash 3.5!
This supports Windows Mobile 6, 6.1 and 6.5.
Supported resolutions are 240x320, 320x320, 240x400, 480x640 and 480x800 in both portrait and landscape modes.
Downloads are in post 2 or you can use AppToDate to update it.
If you create your own language files please upload them to this thread so I can include them with the application!
Upcoming:
Add language support for configuration utility and save/open/browse dialogs. Currently only the main application supports alternate languages.
Possibly adding price information option per item (this would toggle-able by a setting).
Possibly adding finger gesture recognition for different things.
Possibly adding SMS support.
Possibly adding Today plugin.
Possibly add D-pad support.
Version 5.3:
New features:
Shopping Cart Companion - You can use this tiny application to easily create and manage lists (both standard and master lists) from your PC and transfer them directly to your device.
Fixes:
Optimized code greatly for larger lists. Opening a large list, e.g. 40 items per tab over 3 tabs opens in 5 seconds instead of 30. This has a huge impact on older / slower devices.
Version 5.2:
New features:
Shopping lists now have the typical elastic rebound effect when a list is scrolled beyond the beginning or end of a list.
Fixes:
The position of a shopping list no longer automatically scrolls to the top of the list if you click an entry that is below the "first page" of the list.
Version 5.1:
New features:
Save As menu option for new lists.
New setting to save a new list automatically.
New option under Settings/General/SIP. Show automatically when entering: Enabled, Enabled in Portrait Only, Disabled.
Fixes:
Exporting all marked items of a master list to a regular list doesn't work when using "mark all items".
Exiting from the master list without saving or anything says that the user tried to save the masterlist as a regular list.
Various errors with save dialogs not appearing and files not being saved.
Version 5.0:
NOTE: You will have to uninstall the previous version because of the name change! Otherwise you will have both applications installed!
New features:
Landscape for all supported resolutions. This is currently only within the main application screen, not the settings screen, save/open screens, etc.
New initial GUI upon start of application (enabled or disabled by a setting)- a "home" screen with more intuitive quick-launch buttons to access application features.
New option on long-press-hold over an item - copy item text to input field.
Language files included have been updated with the new entry above and need to be translated. When you do, please upload them to this thread.
A new setting to prompt a user to overwrite an existing saved cart rather than just doing it.
Application will be renamed to "Digicast Solutions' Shopping Cart" from "cRaCKwHoRe's Shopping Cart"
Fixes:
Intermittent application errors / crashes when deleting / duplicating items / opening and closing SIP.
Application not remembering last opened list.
Saving a list sometimes doesn't actually save it. This is fixed.
I am trying to prevent where a list of items scrolls back to the top if you are scrolled down and click an item.
Downloads
The files are below. Shopping Cart Companion needs to be extracted. It requires .NET 3.5 framework on your computer.
Also, here is a link to all the .NET 3.5 compact framework installation files.
You specifically need to have:
NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab
NETCFv35.Messages.XX.wm.cab (where XX indicates your phone's language)
It's looking good!
Quite similar to another program that's actively being developed right now.
Some comments:
If I click X in the upper right corner to go out of the program, it will do so without any chance of saving the file.
The font on the first page is really small on QVGA
I like the categories at the bottom. However, they are not finger friendly. It would be great if I could use the directional pad to move to the next category. Or even better, if they could be scrolled with your finger like the lists.
I like the fact that you can just click an item to check off, no need to be exact about clicking in the checkbox.
When adding selected items to new list, it seems as nothing happens. Shouldn't there be an option to name a new list?
Also, how do you go back to the main page, when you're in a list?
Since the lists layout/functions seems to be the same, couldn't there just be one list layout, and at top it would say whether it's the master list or a shopping list? So on the front page, there are 2 options: master and today.
I would prefer to add categories from the front page instead of where you add items.
Skip menu options that are not applicable to the current list , i.e. add items to new list, categories, master list etc. when you are shopping.
How do you delete a list?
Great with the Desktop companion! However, if there is nothing on the list, and you try to save as Master, it stops responding.
Also in the Master list on the Desktop, I don't see how to copy selected items to a today's shopping list.
I really like your settings and help option screens.
