Mines exactly the same, prefer it to be softer

As a usar of CM7 on the Atrix, I know it (and some other ROMs for other phones) have the setting of how long the haptic feedback lasts. Take note, what you are experiencing isn't a "week", feedback, it's a short one, as phones don't really have the possibility of calibration in it's strenght.
Maybe future ROMs for the razr will enable this configuration...
My vibrate is weak too, was going to go to Verizon today to see if it is defective.
When a text or call come in it seems more like a fast jiggle than a hard vibrate...also when typing I can barely feel a vibrate at all (it is turned on)
Is this normal?
I see lots complaining about this. Remember the more vibrations it's going to drain battery faster. Personally I never used haptic feedback till now, the softer vibration is nice to me.

I have a feeling thats just how it is cause mine is too. Keep in mind it's a skinny phone!
Mine vibrates well but is a fairly loud noise when vibrating.

Mine seems to have enough vibration feedback, but what doesn't work is the "screen press sound" I called Verizon tech support for the heck of it just to hear what they would say, and told me I could exchange it. Anyone else having this issue?
A lot of this thread has pertained to haptic feedback, but what about regular vibrate notifications when the phone is in silent mode. My phone barely does anything at all. Even when I'm holding it in my hand it barely vibrates compared to the GSII or iPhone.
Is this just the way it is, or is mine defective?
I've literally missed every single call, text, and email that have come in. This is the only thing keeping me from loving this phone, but I have to say, it's a dealbreaker if I can't have the phone in silent mode and still know when something comes in.
I actually prefer the amount of haptic feedback the RAZR provides. I didn't much care for the keyboard feedback, but that was fixed with SwiftKey. Like Bond32 said, less vibration, less battery usage!

has anyone else noticed that when you answer a phone call the screen turns off ...I hate it ...I have to hit the power button to wake the phone up and end the call .. does anyone have a fix for this ? thanks in advance
thats how all phones have been
is this your first smart phone bro?
if u dont cover the sensor it wont shut off
The screen should only turn off when you put it to your face . Once you pull away the phone the screen should wake . Check your settings you shouldn't have to use the power to wake it .

yea I know right lol ....I looked into the settings and haven't seen any controls for that feature
Yea I noticed the same thing. During a call pulled phone away from my face and screen stayed off. I thought something was wrong but if the call is active screen will come back on, if person hangs up and ur not quick to uncover sensor the screen stays off.
do you guys have screen protectors on your phones??? zaggs perhaps??
If anything is "blocking" your sensor, then it assumes that your face is up to the phone. The phone would then only wake up when the call is ended or the power button is pressed.
You must not have ANYTHING covering the sensor
I would say that this is most likely the case
Mine doesnt do that unless I put the phone up to my ear. Normally I just answer the phone and click it to speaker. When I do that the screen stays on....unless my hand/finger happens to be covering the light sensor.
I have Invisible Shield HD. And there's a cutout for the prox. sensor. Have the same problem. Hopefully HTC will fix it on the next firmware update

I'm not so sure about that. My OG Evo has a standard screen protector that "covers" the sensors, and they still work just fine. Maybe those crappy Zagg orange peels will interfere, but I still don't see that being too likely, as they're not really blocking any light.
I have this issue as well and after reading all over for the past two days it appears some units have this issue and some don't. Further complicating the issue is the fact some have screen protectors and some don't. Some have made cutouts on their screen protector and then it works as it should. Very weird.
As soon as I make a call the phone screen goes black while laying on my desk. When the call is over sometimes I can hit the power button to disconnect the call...sometimes I have to hold the power button down 10 seconds to soft reset the phone or I cannot get back to any screen and the call stays connected. Very weird. I got my phone at BB so I am going to stop back and see if they have had any returns and what their thoughts are.

i got my zagg lastnight and it happened
so i reapplied it, not covering the sensor on the top left
and it fixed the issue

Yeah I wish that was my issue....I don't have a screen protector on my phone and it doesn't work as designed.

I bought a Zagg and had the issue. They left a hole for a sensor but I think that's the light sensor with the proximity sensor being just to the left and covered. It's a small red light that turns on when making a call. So I made the hole bigger by making it a rectangle uncovering the proximity sensor. Now my phone goes on and off like it should when putting it to my ear. Maybe that'll help some of you? Though I have read some people having the issue without screen protectors.

Not sure if this will help or not, but in settings/accessibility settings there is an option to end calls using the power button. Might help.
OK, this is a bit OT so I apologize. But I can't figure it out and really dont feel it warrants a new thread. I hope you dont mind me dropping this in here.
Yesterday, at some point, this icon came into my notification bar and i CANNOT, for the life of me figure out what it is.
It looks kinda like a hearing aid or Bluetooth headset icon. But I use neither. I've looked all thru settings trying to figure it out. Checked thru accessibility . Just stumping me, and making me feel REALLY stupid.
Much thanks to anyone who knows.

I experienced the same issue with the screen turning off as soon as I placed a call. I pulled the Zagg HD off and the issue was resolved. I'm going to best buy today to exchange the Zagg for a new one and I will cut a little notch into it to see if it works.
After the screen goes off you have to press the power button but that little red dot next to the proximity sensor stays on unless you flash a bright light on it. I think regardless the proximity sensor is really sensitive and the Zagg HD just makes it that much more finicky.
Being in a dimly lit area makes it worse too.
**Update**
I went to bestbuy and exchanged my Zagg HD for a new one. I got home notched the cutout for the sensor a little more. Installed it and now I don't have any issues with the screen turning off.

Still doing it months later wtf
You don't have an app installed called more bars do you? That app automatically enters airplane mode during low signal to conserve battery.

HTC One
So I'm having this problem as well, on my new HTC One... it goes into airplane mode nearly every call I have... I'll probably have to go back to my iPhone if I can't resolve the issue. As stupid as it sounds, I'm fairly confident it's my ear touching the screen that's "navigating" into settings and turning airplane mode on... if I'm 100% concentrating on not touching the phone's screen at all, I don't have the problem. But if I'm talking normally, it never fails, the call drops, I look at the phone, and I'm sitting on the settings page with airplane mode on. I honestly don't know how this doesn't happen to everyone... I *THINK* my ears are normal!? Anyone come up with a solution??

Is your proximity sensor working fine? Is it covered with a screen protector?

Thanks... I installed the sensor app... seems to be working ok... it's showing "all or nothing" (9cm or 0cm) and seems to indicate the duration I hold the phone to my head. If I move my head around (not necessarily away from the phone) it indicates that the sensor thought I wasn't in proximity the full time... so perhaps there are brief moments the OS thinks I've pulled the phone away from my head. Maybe that algorithm needs tweaking (e.g. maybe wait 1-2 seconds of nothing in proximity before turning on screen?).
I don't have a screen protector.

found this on the htc one forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2259526
I didn't read it, but it looks like you are not the only one having issues with the proximity sensor...
So I know this doesn't help much but wanted to add I'm having this issue as well. Not every call but maybe every couple of days or so. Does seem to happen when I'm using the phone, not an ear piece, and I'm moving around a lot. So might be something with the proximity sensor, though there is not quick button I could be hitting with my face to turn airplane mode on even if the screen was on. I have also noticed a lot of strange network issues where my single bounces between 4g, 3g and hsdpa often, which I've never had a phone do this much before. I can actually sit there and watch flip back and forth. So I'm really thinking the HCT One has some manufacture issues that are not being addressed. I'm about ready to send this thing in.
Just got the Note 2 on Friday. Love the phone except for one major issue. Pitifully weak vibration. I have the vibration intensity at the maximum setting but I can barely feel it vibrate. I have it holstered with a belt clip attached to my hip.
My previous phone (Droid Bionic) vibrated like crazy! You definitely knew when an email, appointment, text message, etc. arrived. Is anyone else experiencing this with their Note 2?

It's my theory that vibrations work correctly on stock kernel if you install a 3rd party kernel it messes with vibrations

Denied.
I'm on imnutz kernel and my vibration is just like it was on stock. Was the same on Perseus as well.

Some kennels allow you top adjust the intensity so if it was weak then you probably needed to turn it up.

Yeah man. I don't see the correlation between vibration intensity and kernel. You sure something is not messing with your head? hehehe
Is it possible to keep the Honor 10 screen on during calls. These days one is frequently asked to press number keys to get into phone inquiry systems etc. These systems often do not give one very long to "Press 1 to speak to what we laughingly call customer service" or whatever, and trying to get the screen to wake up again in a hurry after (presumably) the proximity sensor has turned it off is a pain. It would be handy if it could be set to stay on during calls and, preferably, revert to the normal behaviour after hanging up. There may be a way, but a fairly long search around Google and what passes for a user manual didn't find anything useful. Any ideas, please?
it will stay awake as long as you are looking at it.

I usually use the speakerphone or a earphone for such a call. The screen will not be off for as long as you don't put the phone near to your ears or cover the proximity sensor.

I've just made such a speakerphone call and the screen turns off after a couple of minutes. Luckily, I haven't set the power switch to end calls, because the only way to get back into the call was to press the power switch to wake the screen (as far as I know there is no double tap like my old phone or any other action to wake it). I still need to be able to keep the screen on until the call hands up - but it looks as though there is no way to do it. Thanks for the idea, anyway.

When you say looking at it, do you mean close to the phone and looking directly at it! I've just been using the phone on a stand for a speakerphone call and the screen turned off - however I was a couple of feet away from the phone and writing as I spoke, so I wasn't staring directly at the phone. It's not usually possible to make a call like that and have the phone directly and closely in front of me at all times. From what I've heard here and elsewhere It would appear that there is no way to make the screen stay on during a call - which is the only thing that would help. Thanks for your reply, anyway.
