I recently got a new LG G3, and I have been messing around with it. I found out that I had updated it too far to root, so I downgraded and rooted. Now my phone is telling me that I can update my phone back to the version that I couldn't root on. Is it safe to upgrade to the newer version with my phone now being rooted? I don't want to have to downgrade and re-root again.
Before Lollipop, it was possible to be rooted and take OTAs and even keep root, as long as you had the stock recovery instead of a custom recovery like TWRP. With Lollipop, 23C and above on the VS985 when you have root, you can download OTAs but it'll fail to update, whether or not you have the stock recovery.
You have to install the latest TWRP v2.8.7.0. I don't know what you downgraded to so the way to install TWRP is different depending on what build of stock LG Android you're on. Then you can flash whatever stock 35B-based ROM you want, @xdabbeb 's VS985 v2.0, @hsbadr 's JasmineROM v9.0+9.1 update, or @Holy Angel 's SkyDragon 6.x, in order to be on the latest update and rooted.

Thanks, any chance you know which ROM is closest to retail 35B?

JasmineROM 9.0+9.1 update is the closest to 100% stock, especially if you don't use it's optional debloat zip.
Note that if you want Advanced/HD Calling to work on it, you'll have to flash the 35B bootstack AFTER flashing JasmineROM, which you can get from @xdabbeb 's VS985 v2.0 ROM thread first post. Also note if you decide to flash SkyDragon, or re-flash JasmineROM, or run any CM12.1-based ROM you'll have to flash the 24B bootstack again from @xdabbeb 's thread BEFORE flashing JasmineROM, and then again you could flash the 35B bootstack after in order to get the 35B modem working, which takes more than just flashing the 35B modem over top of JasmineROM or SkyDragon.
Same thing applies if you flash SkyDragon and decide to switch to JasmineROM.
If you don't flash the 24B bootstack when needed, before flashing another ROM, you'll end up with the phone never showing anything but a black screen, but even though you can't see it you can operate it as normal at least as far as putting it in Download mode in order to flash a KDZ again to put it back exactly right and start fresh.
Hope I don't scare you.

Don't quite understand how to flash a bootstack.
I am on 23C, so from what I am understanding I will need to flash the 24B bootstack, install Jasmine, then flash 35B?
Is it easy to revert to stock if I don't like Jasmine?

Not wasting my time as long as you don't make me repeat things, and it helps if you do some searching since all of this information has already been posted in response to threads in the Q&A section and other places probably including part of the information earlier in this thread.
As far as installing TWRP once you're already rooted while on stock 23C?
Use @bender_007 's autorec app for the VS985. Get the one specifically for 23C. His thread is in the G3 (non-Verizon) General section.
Flash a boostack by choosing Install in TWRP and directing it to the appropriate zip file you would've previously downloaded.
If you're on 23C, you won't *have* to flash any bootstack before flashing JasmineROM because you're already on the 23C bootstack - JasmineROM will overwrite certain partitions with 24B stuff, and the remaining 23C partitions will work fine with it too, partly because both 23C and 24B are Android 5.0.1.
That being said, it won't hurt to get in the habit of flashing the 24B bootstack before any other ROM other than @xdabbeb 's VS985 v2.0 including JasmineROM and SkyDragon because doing so will save you some headache, the severity of which varies depending on the user.
JasmineROM 9.0+9.1+35B bootstack is as stock 35B as you're going to find for a pre-rooted flashable zip ROM. You *could* use more technical methods to get even more stock, and it's not difficult, but I wouldn't recommend that until you're more comfortable with how to do things on this phone. You could find everything you needed in @bweN diorD 's stickied thread in General, though.
Otherwise if you wanted to get back to 100% stock, unrooted of any official ROM, it's not very hard although some people have a little trouble with it. There's a return to stock thread either here in the General section or maybe it was in the non-Verizon G3 General section.

I'm just wanting to clarify, because I've read it in about 6 different places.
Best practices to install any ROM (other than the rom by @xdabbeb would be to
1) boot into TWRP
2) full wipe (cache, system,davlik)
3) Flash 24B bootstack
4) Flash ROM (AOSP/STOCK)
5) Boot System
6) Profit.
I am just summarizing, as this appears to be the clearest set of instructions I've seen by anyone. I appreciate your efforts in all the threads Road Warrior.

You definitely want to wipe data too, but I think you just forgot to include that. Otherwise, yes, exactly. You're welcome!
Of course, if you're flashing another 35B based ROM, although you want to start off with 24B bootstack, you *can* flash the 35B bootstack after.

I did forget to add wipe data, but I did mean that. So then the big question now is : If I want to flash one of the 6.0 roms sitting out there, and I've already flashed the 24B boot stack, do I need to do anything different? Or will that bootstack be ok? I haven't seen much about the bootstacks and 6.0. I wasn't sure if you have tried it yet or not.
TIA.

Nope, I haven't tried it. Someone else just asked me the same thing in PM (which bootstack). No matter what it shouldn't cause any catastrophic error and the worst you'll have to do is just flash a different bootstack or the ROM will tell you it needs a different if you flash the ROM after a certain bootstack.
To understand the reason some people's phone's had a problem after flashing other ROMs while being on the 35B bootstack: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64064555&postcount=5993.

You'll have to have a custom recovery installed in order to install Xposed - you can't install it any other way on Lollipop.
There's a thread somewhere in the non-variant G3 sections for "autorec TWRP", it's an app that'll install TWRP and the necessary bootloader. There's a separate 23C and 24B version.
Then you'll have to search here on XDA for Xposed for Lollipop 5.0.x. Don't confuse it with Xposed for Lollipop 5.1.x - I'm pretty sure they're different. Both are in testing.
There's also a beta version of the G3 TweaksBox Xposed app.

I used AutoRec and installed a TWRP recovery version that absolutely did nothing for my phone. I simply tried backing my phone up with it and it froze up. So I returned back to the stock recovery with that app. Maybe I just can't find the right one? Idk.

If it was for the VS985 and for 23C, than it was the right one. I never had that issue, maybe you should post about it in that thread though so they maybe they can help you with it. Another option is to use the app to install TWRP, then update TWRP to the latest version 2.8.7.0 via flashable zip, although I know I had used the version built into the autorec app to backup and restore 23C just fine.
Not sure where the G3 TWRP thread is. I think it was in the Verizon G3 Original Development but if I remember right, they might have continued releasing TWRP for the VS985 in a thread in the non-variant G3 sections. I think there was a link to the new thread from a post in the end of the old one.

You're welcome! Glad it works now. I think on the VS985 you can even flash TWRP from the TWRP Manager app, but only after first flashing via the autorec app since I think the bootloader gets changed too, but now that it's changed, you might be able to upgrade to the latest TWRP that way. Of course the flashable zip will be the safest route.
I'm about to get a new LG G3 from Verizon (it won out over the G4 and S5 due to ease of root). Ideally I want to run the stock Lollipop OS with root with all updates frozen. Is that fairly easy to do? If so, how can I go about doing that? I'm been searching through XDA for a couple of days now regarding this, but it's akin to drinking from a fire hose. Any help would be appreciated.

Depends on what release of Android the G3 you pick up has on it. Don't take any OTAs once you get it. At worst, if it comes with 35B, the latest update - you can't root directly from it. You'll have to use the "return to stock" TOT method to downgrade to 10B. Find the "return to stock" thread in the General section.
What method you use to root depends on the same thing. If the phone comes with 12B, 23C or 24B you'll have to use one of the newer root scripts available in the General section of the non-variant specific G3 sections. If it comes with 10B or you downgrade from 35B, use the Stump app found on XDA with a search.
To install TWRP, if on 10B, just use TWRP Manager to install the latest, v2.8.7.0. I forget what you have to do on 12B. On 23C or 24B, there's two different versions of the "autorec" app you can get from the same section as the newer root scripts mentioned above. Install the correct one, give it superuser permissions, let it take 30 seconds to backup your stock recovery, then press the button to install an older version of TWRP. You can use Quick Reboot app from the Play Store to get into Recovery. From that version of TWRP, flash the latest version.
In the end, you can flash any of the three stock 35B-based ROMs @xdabbeb 's, @hsbadr 's JasmineROM 9.0+9.1 update, or @HolyAngel 's SkyDragon 6.x. Follow the instructions exactly in any of their threads.

Yes, although 35B runs a lot better than 23C and 24B. If you did want to be rooted on 35B, JasmineROM is very minimally modified from stock, especially if you don't flash the debloat zip.
If it comes with 35B, you'll have to do as I say and downgrade to 10B first using the TOT method, then you can upgrade to 24B and root, or whatever method you're going to take.

Yes. But there is no advantage to doing so. 35B > 24B by a longshot. And Jasmine 9.1 is stock 35B rooted. Save yourself some time and trouble and flash that.
So I bought a really nice G3, and I'm wondering what I should do first? Should I check for something prior to activating? Is root hard with Verizon variation? Any pointers?
Thanks
What build of the official LG ROM is it on? Do you want root?
If you do want root, and not on 35B, don't take any OTAs. If 35B, you can root using Kingroot. No one knows how to get TWRP working when rooting from 35B, though. If on 35B and you want TWRP, use the TOT method to downgrade to 10B, then root using the Stump app, use TWRP Manager to put TWRP on, then flash whatever ROM you want.
If it's not on 35B, use either the TOT or KDZ method (I prefer KDZ method) to downgrade to 10B, then root and put TWRP on the same way as above.
Thanks man. It'll be here Friday, noob alert. What is the 35b ( and other variants I've seen for that matter ) pertaining to? Where can I find it? Assuming maybe a build number.

It's how LG designates their ROM builds. On the VS985 G3, 10B, 11C (I think it was) and 12B were all KitKat. 23C and 24B were Lollipop 5.0.1. 35B is 5.1.1.
You can find that information on any Android phone in Settings / About phone / Software info. If you flash a custom ROM the ROM developer can make it say anything they want but if the ROM is LG ROM based, it will usually still keep the proper build #.
The build numbers differ on different LG devices. I did notice that another newer device (G4?) starting on 5.1.1 was build 10B.
Besides the two numbers and letter, there's also numbers after. For example, the TOT method uses 10B_03. We don't have copies of a 10B_03 KDZ but we do have 10B_01. What that means is that using the KDZ method, that we can't take OTAs from 10B_01 to upgrade the phone, because 10B_03 was the actual officially released ROM. Doesn't change anything else, though, in this case.
Other manufacturers use their own coding system.
You're welcome.
Edit: where to find it depends on what you want to do with it. If your phone arrives with an official stock ROM, and if it's not already on 35B, and you use it with a Verizon SIM, then you'll be offered OTAs to eventually reach 35B. If you're looking for the 35B KDZ to make your phone official, unrooted completely stock on the latest release, you'll have to Google for a link to the 35B KDZ. I know there's links in some threads on here. I might have a copy on my Android File Host section too - I forget what I have on there since I mostly use it for my tablet.
If you really need it I can get more specific. You didn't answer whether you want to be rooted and/or have custom recovery. If you do, then you don't need the 35B KDZ. You need the 10B TOT (just a different format official file from LG for their ROM) and I forgot to mention you also need the new 35B DLL to use with the 10B TOT because 35B keeps you from downgrading except using that method. You can find the .DLL in @holiealmunus ' thread about 35B in General.
After rooting and putting TWRP on you can just flash a 35B based ROM if that's what you want to do with it.

Reasons to downgrade to 10B as opposed to any other build: 10B was the last release that the Stump app works on to root (in brute force mode), and it's easy to put TWRP on (with TWRP Manager).
Good deal I'll report back this weekend
Enjoy your new/used G3. I got mine used a few months ago. If your battery life seems poor then check the date stamped on the battery. If its over a year old replace.
What's a good replacement. I bumped around here and it seems like aftermarket is it
I got a TQTHL battery off eBay. It claims 4500mah but its certainly not. I think its somewhere around 3500-4000 since I get similar battery life to my old Droid Turbo 4-5 hours of screen time with 24-36 hours of uptime. My used stock battery didn't even get 3 hours or last all day. YMMV

The auto brightness issue on 35B is the only issue I've had. Other than that it was a vast improvement over previous official releases. To fix it, it was recommended to me to use Lux Lite in the Play Store. Now I use it on the phone and my tablet, it works very well and is very configurable.
You're talking apples and oranges regarding official LG stock (rooted) ROM versus CyanogenMod, the latter being the only way of putting Marshmallow on this phone since LG hasn't released it yet but since they did for the D855 I think they will for the other G3s.
Try it if you like but I don't bother flashing CM any more. Personally I find that CM builds create more problems than they solve.
Of course, I'm running @xdabbeb 's VS985 v2.0 ROM which spoils me even more on an LG-based ROM.
Thanks once again. I think I'll leave it as is. She doesn't really know much about roms and such, so I'd be flashing or fixing things here and there.
Thanks again
Edit : Deleted due to roirraW "edor" ehT statement (wich is very accurate for what it seems) that the 35B cant work with these methods , guess I just had luck

Well mine one is used too (Great deal to finally retire the almighty s2 i9100...) it came with the 35B, use this apk to flash the twrp on your device and if it worked , VOILA ... The next thing you should do is to either debloat the phone or flash a stock based custom rom (Personal Favorite is skydragon).
PD: This worked for me Im just sharing how it went , good luck

That hasn't been updated for 35B, it's for 23C only. It worked for you? The Play Store notes even says "Don't flash this if you are on 5.1.1 (vs985 v35a or 35b)" and the author's thread doesn't mention a version for 35B.

For the hell of it I wanna take my vs985 back to the first firmware that came on it from the beginning or the oldest possible firmware preferably the time it was released. I'm just confused cuz I'm seeing 10b KDZ's saying jellybean 4.2.2 (and tot) but, the ones I've downloaded from several different places turn out to be a tot file that is actually kitkat 4.4.2 which is not what I quite expected. I figured someone made a mistake naming the file but several different ones now? What am I missing? I just wanna try the oldest stuff I missed out on for a lil while and custom roms would work too but kk is the lowest I find so is there anything even lower I cant find a clear answer lol.

10b is the original stock firmware.

Hi!
There wasn't any Jellybean available for this phone. For example, 10B for my LG G Pad 8.3 tablet was Jellybean. You can find the correct 10B KDZ and TOT in @annoyingduck 's stickied return to stock thread in the General section. If the filename has VS985 in it, it's likely the correct one.
Also please in the future post questions in the Q&A section. I'll ask a mod to move this thread there. Thanks!
That's exactly what I thought, I didn't think this phone was even this old but I have the files right here saying vs985 and 4.2.2 jellybean lol but it has to be a mistake. I appreciate your reply sorry about that after these years I still get lost and mixed up here sometimes , and this can be deleted now I got the right answer , thanks again

You have to ask a mod to delete it. I already asked them to move it to Q&A - no reason to delete the thread.

Mine is on VS98510B Android Version 4.4.2, came like that, but about to change that though as soon as I read up enough and figure out which is best way to go about custom rom install, (currently stock 10B rooted/bumped, w/twrp 3.0/ few mods)

Well I can tell how just about every Rom and mod runs on this phone and anything that you need to know I'm sure I've come across the issue at some point. I've tried everything I could find from your stock version to the latest mm stock and custom roms. A good hint I can give you is make sure you flash the right bootstack before jumping between android versions or you could wind up with a Qualcomm 9008 super brick where the real fun begins lol But it's very easy with this phone and it still blows my G4 outta the water so bad it's pathetic. I had 2 G4's and traded one fire this G3

I just ran across that same file looking through my G3 files, I'm not sure which thread I got links from, but most likely came from afh in someones collection of G3 files. name of the file is "8._ VS98510B_01.KDZ-4.2.2-Jellybean-MD5_hash_inside-(not_official" and it's 1.47 GB in size, I expect it was just named incorrectly

DOH ME! I'm the culprit. Sorry about that. As soon as I saw the file name you put I knew it was mine. I'll fix that. LOL! I can't believe I did that, and of course I'm sure the reason I did that was my confusion between my tablet 10B and this phone's 10B. SIGH! Thanks for posting that and I'll correct that now!
Thanks @dadrumgod too for starting this thread which lead to me knowing that I had named the files wrongly.
Lol, its all good, figured it was just a mistake! However I did just d/l the 10B.kdz from autoprime via chainfire and it was 1.51 GB in size, slightly different, any concern for that? Thanks for all your help! Past present and future lol

The KDZs and TOTs in my Android File Host section are in 7-Zip archives that you have to extract to use (and are therefore compressed).
I do that since it seems so few people check MD5 hashes, plus TOTs aren't already compressed like KDZs are, so you reasonably know that when you extract an archive that the file inside it is correct and intact.
In other words, did you compare sizes with the 7-Zip archive you downloaded or the KDZ you extracted from it?
In the end I believe the TOT and KDZ-flashing software checks the file to make sure it's both okay and is for the device you have connected, anyway.
You're welcome!

Yea I was kinda curious about that one, but at least ya know huh, I've made quite a few Oops's myself lol.. But I'm still shocked at how much better the older roms are in alot of ways and LG did pretty good with kk apparently. But I have a gpad 10.1 vk700 and was surprised the lil difference between kk and LP and changed back and forth a good bit quite a few times mixing up what I was running... I should warranty that thing and play with it again, but no recovery so too limited.. Wah Wah Wah lol

Hehe. I'm lucky there was at least an exploit and TWRP for the G Pad 8.3 VK810 variant, and that some developers made an updated TWRP for it later.
I hope when/if it comes time for me to get a new tablet that I can find one that's powerful enough yet have an unlocked bootloader, etc.
I really hope something changes so that with some future Android version that there's another way of handling the optimization of apps so that every time you take an OTA or factory reset you don't have to wait an extra 10-20 minutes. Call me paranoid, but also what if you factory reset and then need to use the phone in an emergency? That long a wait is unacceptable.

Oh there's even a bumped twrp for the gpad 10.1 v700, mine is the vk700 with LTE but it's the same tab. Funny part is I never use the mobile data and I'm stuck with the bill cuz I didn't know better at the time lol I could possibly bump a twrp for it myself but that's a lil beyond my expertise atm. I also wish I'd have known better when I got my g4 or I wouldn't have went through hell and be stuck with a hopelessly locked non developed device with only root and no real fun. I guess ya gotta start learning somewhere huh

It drives me crazy all these variants of the different devices. That's one thing I definitely like about Nexus, but I've never owned one. I was hoping the HTC 10 would be universal too but it doesn't look to be that way since it says on their website that for Sprint and Verizon you need different hardware (without any further clarification of availability/etc when I looked last week - just said soon). One of the selling points they gave for buying the HTC 10 directly from them is if you want to change carriers, you can just change SIM cards, but then the note about Sprint and Verizon - sounds like a different variant.
I do use Mobile Data on my tablet all the time. Undecided if I'll keep the mobile data plan after the contract is up in December. I do like not running my phone battery down as much since I use my tablet whenever possible for music, GPS, XDA, Facebook etc.

both compared are .KDZ, The proper named file I d/l from Team Codefire was already in .KDZ format when d/l. The "improper named" 10B .KDZ Im not sure where I d/l from nor do I remember if file was zipped or not. If it was zipped then I extracted .KDZ and deleted the zip because I can't find it in any of my G3 folders/files. So im not sure why the size difference :/ also i have a question about flashing 35B, I know this is not proper place but didnt want to start a whole new thread for 1 question. I want to update to LP and 33B FROM my 10B KK and I see these "notes" in threads everywhere but never a link to proper update procedure, This is what I keep seeing about not using flash method to go from LP to KK or you end up with no d/l mode or other bricks possibly. from the stock img thread by bwen diorD ---------> (((((((((((***Note, Do Not use the flash2 method to go from KK to L.
Partitions other than boot, system and modem need to be updated, otherwise, you will have no download mode, and other possible issues.
***A tutorial to install the Boot, Modem, and System, using @autoprimes "Flash2" method, can be found Here.
***Custom recovery "flashable zips" for boot and modem by @hsbadr can be found here.))))))))))So Im 10B rooted/bumped with TWRP 3.0..which route do I take from KK to LP?? Just more files to flash?? and which procedure???
Thanks in advance!

You can follow the directions in the OP of either @hsbadr 's JasmineROM 9.x, @HolyAngel 's SkyDragon 6.x or @xdabbeb 's VS985 v2.0, or what I say below for more detailed although technically optional information regarding the first two of those ROMs.
Flash either:
1. JasmineROM 9.0+9.1 and then the 35B bootstack after if you want almost completely stock 35B. Flashing the 35B bootstack after JasmineROM isn't mentioned in the JasmineROM OP and is actually optional, but encryptiona and Advanced/HD Calling won't work without it. If you choose not to flash the 35B bootstack after flashing JasmineROM, you should at least flash the 24B bootstack. SkyDragon 6.x is the exact same situation as JasmineROM 9.x.
You can use the debloat zip thread in my signature below on either of those two ROMs if you wish. I recommend flashing the debloat zip(s) before booting the ROM the first time. It'll make your first boot faster in addition to other things.
2. or flash the 35B bootstack first and then @xdabbeb 's excellent VS985 v2.0 ROM which I recommend. Even though I'm running 47A rooted debloated right now, his ROM is absolutely my favorite.
His ROM is very debloated, although there's some additional things I choose to remove via my debloat zips.

exactly what i was looking for to the T! thank you very much! I was MAKING SURE the 35B bootstack would flash all necessary files/img's needed to move from 10B KK to 35B LP without making a paper weight out of my phone lol. so 35B bootstack then xdabbeb rom then debloat, script....would you recommend full wipe or? before any of the flashes , and I assume all this flash with TWRP.
THANKS!! That was A LOT of help! I just did not know FOR SURE OR NOT if anything special had to done with partitions jumping from KK to LP

You're welcome! For such a large upgrade, from 10B to 35B, yes absolutely do a full wipe before flashing anything. I always do a full wipe, though. The built-in LG Backup does a bang up job for me for user apps, user data and limited system data - much faster than Titanium Backup.
You're welcome again!
I got a friend who has a lg g3 and is on vs98547A. No root. Is it possible to downgrade from 47A to at least 10B or to an os that can be rooted. Thanks
Please don't post the same question in multiple threads. This, however, was the correct place to post it.
If you don't care about having root and custom recovery, then you can downgrade one of three ways, but I'll only discuss the first two ways as the third way is more complicated and more focused on those who need a "last-ditch" effort to downgrade and get TWRP put on.
1. You can downgrade from 46A or 47A to 35B by flashing the 35B KDZ with LG Flash Tool 2014.
2. You can downgrade to any KDZ previous to 35B (10B, 12B, 23C or 24B) by first flashing the 10B TOT using the 35B .DLL, and then you can flash whatever KDZ you like.
If you do want to be rooted and have a custom recovery, then go with option #2 as far as flashing the 10B TOT using the 35B .DLL, root with the Stump app, then use TWRP Manager from the Play Store to flash TWRP, then you can flash whatever ROM you want.

No problem.
No, I meant something different.
From 35B, 46A or 47A, you can only flash KDZs 35B and higher. The only way to downgrade to lower than 35B from 35B, 46A or 47A is to use the 10B TOT with the 35B .DLL.
You don't have to go to 35B first in order to get to 10B. For some reason when I was replying at first I forgot you said about "so you can root".
TOTs are like KDZs but actually they flash more partitions than KDZs do, and they use a different program and instructions to flash. You can find all the KDZs and the only TOT we have, along with the 35B .DLL in my Android File Host section which I link to from @annoyingduck 's stickied return to stock thread in the General section, also the first link in my signature below. The software to flash TOTs you'll have to Google for.
We used to use a different .DLL to flash the 10B TOT, but it didn't work once we got to 35B. A user found that using the .DLL that's extracted from the 35B KDZ enabled us to use the TOT method on 35B and above (so far) again.

I tried LGUp once. I couldn't get it to work. To my understanding, it's for the D855 variant only, but I could be wrong. There's a link at the top of the second post of that stickied thread I mentioned to some TOT directions, but the OP of that thread doesn't maintain it any more so I don't know if any links to the flashing software, etc, work, but you might at least get an idea of what you're looking for there.

I have no personal experience with that. To my understanding, it's basically a central repository for all things needed for different aspects of doing things with the VS985 - it makes use of the same individual tools that are available outside the toolkit. It may work for what you need.
I've preferred to use the tools necessary to do what needs doing, directly.

i can try out the tool kit and see how it will do for me. i am still lost on this downgrade process at the moment and i don't wont to bother you with 20 questions on your method, if the took kit works for me i will still give you credit for helping out, even tho i said friend, i want to upgrade my g3 to 47A so i can mess with the downgrade process and make a youtube video walk through to help people who has no idea to do this like me at the moment, but i do the homework figuring out things till i understand them
here is a video how to do the V10 vs990 root and i had a few people said i helped out along with lg G4 root and all, i still give credit to people who do those methods.

my phone has never been on 47A i am on 35B using jasmine Rom, i was on 12B at the first with my g3 stock, can i KDZ 47A to my G3 and have no issues or what?

Yes, on any stock ROM earlier than 35B you can flash any VS985 KDZ.
Good luck!

You're welcome! Glad things went as planned. No problem really.
My handle is like the second Mad Max movie "The Road Warrior"
Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981), but backwards. I have "Road" mispelled "rode" on purpose. Someone called me the road warrior in the Army 30 years ago this year. When I got out of the Army I started using it on computer "bulletin boards" (BBS), but backwards just to be different.
