Anyone having that issue?
LG VS990 10B
build number LMY47V
And why does it says "Software status: Modified"
??? weird or not?
Software version: VS99010B
Was using swiftkey keyboard if this makes any difference...
It does seem to be related to swiftkey cause I don't remember the original lg keyboard OEM message app causing any reboot at first...
Now I have switched for adaptx+textra and no issues so far....

Yesterday I OTA upgraded to ICS, my carrier is Vodafone NL.
The upgrade is great and all but I can't disable the 'touch sounds', even though they are turned off in the sound settings. Boxes are unchecked. So the phone makes sounds when I tab, scroll and suchs. This bug is irritating as hell and I don't know how to fix it because I can't reinstall ICS using Kies and I don't want to root my Galaxy S2. Searched all over the Internet but can't find any people with a similar problem.
The only way to turn of the sounds is to disable 'Music, video, games and other media' sound to 0% you can't hear the sounds. But that's not how it's ment to be. When I watch a video or something I need to enable, turn up the sound again and the 'touch sounds' are enabled again.
I tried to check and uncheck the boxes and then rebooting the device but I didn't help. Does anybody have a solution?

Start by backing up data and factory resetting .

Will try that. Will let you know.
Backing up using Kies.. there goes 2 hours of my life. (sh*t program)
Reset to factory setting using the dialpad technique. No success.
Any other suggestions?
Still same ordeal.. boxes are unchecked in the sound setting but 'touch sounds' keep on playing. Irritating.

Hi FundeMentaL,
Last week me and my girlfriend also updated our Samsung Galaxy S II's.
Somehow I couldn't manage to do it by Kies (tried it on 2 different computers, so I agree with your opinion on this program) so I did it OTA.
My girlfriend did it with Kies.
Weird thing is, she got the sounds and I didn't.
I drives her mad and the only thing we can do is turn off all media sounds (not a real solution). Nowhere in the settings I can see what causes this. And I can't replicate this on my phone either. I suspect TouchWiz.
I got android version 4.0.3 and build IML74K.XWLP7. What is your version? (By the way my phone is a UK distribution and I live in NL ).
It might be because I have a different launcher installed. Can you try to install Go Launcher EX and see what happens?

Hey nanopatch,
Sorry for coming back to you a little late. When no one could offer a solution I contacted Samsung. After explaining it to the service guy he said I was the first to report this bug. They adviced me to turn it in so the service center could look at it and fix it.
I upgraded my Galaxy S2 by OTA.
And when I reinstalled it through Kies. Still got the crappy sounds. Idd only option it to turn off all media sounds.
I've got Android 4.0.3 and build number IML74K.BULPC
My Android is all stock and isn't rooted, no launcher installed.
Going to send in my device. Definitely going to take a month to get it back ffs. Really crappy because I'm an app designer :S
Same touch sound problem
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem, can't turn of the touch sounds on my brand new LG Optimus L5, which runs ICS. How was your problem finally solved, if at all?

Hello there
I too have just received this issue after an OTA update to 4.0.3. on my HTC Sensation. It's dreadful.
Any solutions would be welcome, I've not located any on the net at this time.

Model: G850F
ROM: most latest official 5.0.2 LRX22G.G850FXXU2COI3
CSC: SEB
Baseband version: G850FXXU1COI3
Problem:
Random periodic audio disappearance in all apps, including incoming and outgoing calls.
Symptoms:
When trying to make an outgoing call - i can see the "Dialing" text, but no sound and no further actions, the phone is not actually calling, i can hear no sound, no ringing. The same if i get the incoming call - i couldn't hear any ring, while trying to pick up the phone (i can see on the display, that someone is calling) - the call application freezes.
No sound in any application. Phone starts to heat, in process manager i can see, that the "spi1" process is overloading the CPU. According to the adb phone debugging the "spi1" process refers to the audio chip, connected to serial peripheral bus of the phone. Only restart of the phone helps.
The problem occurrs - ~twice a week.
Tried:
To reset the phone to factory default settings, wipe cache, no 3rd party apps installed (only default stock apps).
Have contacted the samsung warranty center for 6 times already, they have replaced the following parts: the main board (they said, that they did change it, but IMEI did not change, a little bit weird ?), finger scanner, display. Nothing helps, the problem still present.
I will never never never never buy a SAMSUNG phone anymore
As far as i remember, the problem was present in the initial Android 4.4.4 but it more rarely occurred.
Tried googling - nothing helps despite of the simplest advices.
Confused, did not have any ideas. Don't want to void warranty to try the custom ROM.
Any help highly appreciated.
Well since you already changed alot of the hardware on the phone why not try custom rom? That might actually show if the problem is software or hardware based.

I do not want to loose the official warranty
Hi, as of last week I recieved the 6.0 marshmallow update (finally) on my Verizon Galaxy S6; unfortuantely, I am getting constant "Fingerprint Has Stopped Working" errors, they stop whatever you are doing and will often happen back to back. Previously I had no issue with fingerprint, only the camera kept saying I needed to replace the test device, now that is fixed and my fingerprint is broke. It seems to be a firmware issue causing these problems, but is there a chance it's hardware? I'm unable to root currently, so that's out of the question unless there is a way to bypass the new warranty crap they put in for 6.0.
Tl;dr constant error since 6.0, previous errors went away. Is there anything I can do outside of rooting.
Try a factory reset

I am also having this issue. Update if anything works for you!!!
I have a stock vs985 that is having problems with the rear camera and I can't seem to solve the problem. Initially I thought it was just a bad camera so I replaced it yesterday but I am still unable to use it. When using snapchat or camera apps downloaded from the app store It says " cannot connect to camera". In addition, to this the flashlight does not work either.
This first began after I replaced the screen and digitizer because it began to fade out. I don't recall leaving anything unconnected, but is there anything other than the camera itself that could cause this if left unconnected? I believe that was shortly after a software update also. I am currently using 5.1.1 lollipop(vs98535b). I tried to update to marshmello (vs98549a) manually using the LG software assistant but it says im up to date. Although this is a verizon phone my carrier is currently Tracfone.
The stock camera app that came with the phone is also no where to be found except for the home screen. If I open it all I have is a black screen and I cannot find it under "application manager" in the settings. The camera apps that I have downloaded all say "cannot connect to camera".
I believe this is a software problem and I am looking for a way to root this thing and install the latest version of available software.
Lately I get constant update notifications to update the LG Keyboard on my V30 (H932 on TMo). However, once the update completes I'm informed that Word Suggestions also needs an update (attached is a screenshot). This has become a never ending cycle for at least a week now. The Word Suggestions update (started via LG Keyboard settings/Word suggestions) hangs endlessly. I tried resetting the LG Keyboard app and rebooted the phone a few times but it didn't help. Is there anything else I could try?
I'm not even using the LG Keyboard as default keyboard (that's SwiftKey) but want to get rid off the constant update notification.
Thanks.
So it appears nobody else is having this problem? I wonder if this could be fixed by manually updating the Word Suggestions app to version 7.1.20. However, I haven't been able to find it anywhere.
