I've been messing with xposed and whenever I restart the phone,I lose around 5% per restart. Anyone having similar issues?
Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
I had the same issue also when I installed 3 modules with xposed. I think it is normal, with galaxy 4 and HTC One m8 I lose around 3% or higher when going into recovery.
Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
I think overall the battery guestimating app isn't right on the V10.
Something about rebooting when I do some xposed mods just drops the percentage but since I got everything taken care of it has been reading accurately. Thanks for the replies

I am new to Android and very new to Samsung devices coming from iphone. Last night I was at 100% battery before bed and woke up at 71%. I didn't use the phone once. Is that normal? Should I be turning things off or something? 30% overnight drain seems wrong.

Seems like something is amiss. I left mine on all night lastnight at 33% I THINK and its at 18% right now. 1d 1h 55m 47s on battery with 3h 43m 23s of screen on time right now at 10:29AM
Hmm. I forgot to say I have power saving enabled and the usual battery saving tips too.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
That js a very big problem. as you can see i get alot of time on battery. The graph shows that it charged about 10% while I was sleeping (not true). Are you rooted?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
I am rooted. I checked battery usage and messaging was at the top? An exchange account is fully set to manual and nothing else.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
my device drains less than 2% over the course of 8hrs when sleeping...you have a app causing a wakelock.

Stock sms. However I noticed one of my contacts is on Google Talk and I was logged in to that. Would that stay open all night?

No. There's something wrong. Force Close the messaging app and restart it. Wait a few hours and see if its battery usage goes down.
Possible...
The most likely culprit is the "wakelock" issue mentioned above.
Basically it means something... most likely a poorly written app (also most likely a 3rd party non-google app) is preventing the phone from entering its idle/sleep mode, in which it scales back the CPU to minimum, and other bits enter low power states to conserve battery life.
An app that likes to live on the internet or update frequently, or constantly wakes the device to do things, can cause large amounts of drain as well.
It is also possible that signal strength is a cause. Poor/low signal can keep the radio working at higher power levels and that drains battery fast.
Is there any way to check for wakelock applications causing issues? I have removed a few possible applications and force stopped others. I seem to be losing 1-3% battery per hour on idle. Normal now based on everyone's experience?
If it is a signal strength issue I can live with that but the drain still seems steep.
Sorry for the questions. Too new to this to be able to determine if there are issues and everyone is having great battery life.

Several battery apps that can show that type of info, I've used Gsam battery monitor before myself.
gsam battery moniter is what i use on a daily basis. it will let you know what is draining your battery. Link is for the free version. I have the paid.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...bs.bbm&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
Gsam battery monitor is pretty amazing. Thank you. I have an application called "Media" that seems to be running at idle. I can disable it but it looks like I would disable the Download application. It includes a process com.android.providers.media and android.process.media.

Check out "Wakelock detector" , it shows clear list of applications which using wakelocks,
Wakelock detector
Under bbs I get connectivity service with high wakelocks and under usage I get android system at 60%+. Running stock debloated and deodexed with unsecure kernel. Anyone else with the issue ?

Mines at 46% so not sure what your phones doing. As you multitasking on it? This makes the cpu work harder so it consumes more battery. Also could be your brightness effecting it. The DNA has the most powerful screen for android so with that it uses a lot more power to keep it lit. Keep it on low brightness (~25%) and see if this drops the percentage of your usage.

Mines 20% so I don't know what's wrong with yours
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Sounds like something is wrong. It's always hard pinpointing it when it just says android system. If it were me I would just backup anything essential with tibu and wipe. I've had phones do that before and wiping data fixed it.
Sent from my Limited Edition HTC6435LVW 00649
It was just wiped and returned to a debloated stock. Down to 43% now. I've been on it a lot tonight. But still, screen should be at the top. I will keep an eye on it the rest of the night and see what I can do to get it back down. I'm trying not to have to wipe as I just got it redone. Battery stats maybe?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
I think display is included under android system because mine doesn't show display like it did on my dinc2
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
That"s alot.
It looks like android system includes all major functions as well as screen. Makes sense I suppose.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
Mine started doing this today too. For the past few days I never saw it above 40%, usually always 20% or lower. Today it's at 60% and up for no reason. I don't think I've done anything to it that I can remember. No new app installs or anything.
Have you tried factory reset or stats reset to pin point the problem? I'm guessing that is a rogue app running in the background.

Been using this since full charge watching directv, plex, vevo, YouTube and battery seems decent. Still no match with my buddy's Note 2. But acceptable.

I had some issues with my battery when I got it. Turns out the stock clock/weather thing on the lock screen couldn't get a lock on my position (just kept saying "current location"), and would run GPS for 10 seconds whenever I unlocked my phone. After fiddling with GPS and the weather settings themselves for awhile to no avail, I said F it and just let it happen. Eventually it got a lock and since then battery life has been fine.
Battery is fine for me

Battery been great. Way better than the s3. Just wished I could still view screen on time

Battery has been surprisingly good after the first day. Unplugged over 10 hours with about two hours screen time and at 60%.

WiFi Performance mode kills mine fast.
just returned a Note 2 and although its not right up there with it, its still pretty good.
I have been incredibly happy with the battery life. It's solid and wonderful.

Battery has it's ups and downs for me....like today I had less the 6 hours off the charger and got like 2.5 on screen time and battery was down below 30%...haven't been able to get over 13 hours on a charge with moderate usuage....turned off lte which helped some but not a lot

Going to mess around with settings. It could be that I'm spoiled with my note 2.

Buy a new phone.
I started this morning around 75% and got to 8% in about 8 hours of heavy usage. I must have sent a few hundred texts today along with a bunch of snapchats, took a bunch of pictures, web browsing, some Navigation use, an hour or so of Skyping, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Battery saver was on, but I had data running all day, Wifi and LTE per the situation. It actually said that Messaging was the main battery hog at 32%.
What I've taken from it is that if you're going to be using the phone heavily, it doesn't hurt to have a charger.
Where do you guys see how much screen time is used? I don't see it with sense
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
Weird, my battery just went from 8% to 32% from being on the charger for a few minutes.
I guess it's not calibrated very accurately yet.
when I first got my galaxy s4 my battery was amazing! But now, I'm running clean rom which is usually a good rom for battery life. I can't even get my phone to charge without the screen being completely off. If I'm using it all no matter what it goes down. Anybody know what's going on

There are a lot of things to do/explain
One being Location...if you started Google Now kiss your battery goodbye, it sucks it dry. I've always tried to minimize sound and display settings, along with apps that sync constantly.
Please include what else you've done, it's mostly user error installing apps like Facebook

Well my nexus 4 doesn't have the same problem so just checking
Sent from my Nexus 4
Well, I'm gonna have to disagree with the others on this one. I started at 64% battery, rebooted - still 64%. To ensure this wasn't just a fluke, I tried it a few more times, and tried it the next day after charging all the way, draining it a bit, and then rebooting. Doesn't sounds like it's anything to worry about though, just thought I'd add my experience.

Let the battery drain out until it's empty, then charge to 100% with tablet off. After full charge, turn it on and let it charge additional 30 minutes-1 hour, then unplug and reboot and see if this fixes drain issue!
