Hmm..Would this be applicable to both GSM and CDMA Razrs?
Don't think so... GSM version is not ready yet.

Also. If you have no external microsd, you can put zip into /cache and flash via stock recovery. just select "apply update from cache" (or something like that)
And don't forget to use OTA rootkeeper if you dont want to loose root

dont worry got it you need root explorer im a noob and i thought you could do it from your computer.
Can anyone confirm this working? Are there any bugs found so far?
Only bugs I've found are with the initial setup. After you first boot into JB you need to do another reboot to finish updating app databases, and also you need to clear backup assistant's data.
Before installing just clear cache guys , this is CDMA ONLY ....

My wife has a Thunderbolt that was given to us about 6 months ago. I rooted it following a guide I found on here and everything has been fine up until now.
The other day it must have downloaded an update and is now stuck in a never ending boot loop. It will boot like normal and somethimes you can use it for a few minutes before it restarts itself and boots into CWM other times you can use it for hours before it does this.
How can I get rid of this update and stop it from doing this?
Please help ASAP, the wife without her phone is like a squeaky wheel without oil.
Can you boot in to the boot loader and see if you still have s off. If so boot in to recovery wipe everything and flash a backup or do a full wipe and load a new ROM. If you was on a custom ROM I can't see how you could of gotten an update as awhile back all devas disabled the ota update on the phone. To boot in to boot loader press power and volume down at the same time.

I didn't flash a custom rom, I just rooted it so she wouldn't get the ads in some of the games she plays.
Yes when I boot into the bootloader S-OFF
I was hoping to just use astro or some other file manager to delete the file that checks for updates or something like that. Is that not an option?
I know it's an update because when it stays on for a while I can watch it attempt the update download, which I can longpress on and press back and it stops it (I think that's what I was doing)
Try wiping cache and delvic cache. If I remember correctly it will clear out the ota that's trying to install but can't because your s off. Worse thing is to do. A full wipe and reload her phone.

If you're running the stock rooted 2.3.6 it may be trying to update. You can stop it by deleting or renaming the otacerts file.

If its there you can just add .bak too the end of the file extension and that will prevent it from workimg

I found 2 of them, but the phone restarted before I could try to rename it. I also found wipe cache partitioni, so I wiped that and dalvik again, we'll see what happens.
This time when it booted it said update failed and so far it is still on. For some reason astro found 2 files (which obviously I can't rename with that program), but root explorer only found one, which I renamed with .bak so........hopefully it worked.
I'll know in a few hours and will post results for future users with this problem.
THANKS!!!!!
So far so good! Thanks to everyone that helped!
If you are going to run rooted stock might want to look for an ota blocker so this doesn't happen again.

No need for it. Renaming otacerts or deleting it does block the ota.

I've been searching for a while now, and it's a little confusing as to what to do to return to stock.
Need to install factory rom without root.
Install factory recovery
Relock bootloader.
Correct?
Does anyone have a link to a factory rom that doesn't have root? Or one that can easily have root removed?
Thanks

most of the times the stock rom contains the bootloader,
if you flash the stock rom, you phone will be unroot, locked and restore to stock mode.

Hi Everybody,
Yesterday I have rooted my HTC Desire X.
It took my a while because the toolkit from hasoon2000 didn't completed the job correctly.
After a few hours it worked, with the tutorial here .
Then i tought, why not try the stock rom because my phone is branded with an german t-telekom firmware.
I think everything went well, but the file 2.20.401.5_odexed.zip failed in the recovery program (teamwin?).
The tutorial said i should try a complete wipe, So i did...
My OS has gone.
through SDK i've manage to run the boot.img en somthing happend, but i don't know exactly what.
Now I'm not getting in the screen again from teamwin.
Is there any way I can get my OS back?
I hope you guys can and want to help me.
Reinstall twrp with toolkit ,remove battery , reinsert battery hold power and volume down and from fastbot go in to the recovery.and before flash Rom WIPE is needed

Thank you for your quick reply.
I will try this as soon i get home.
The toolkit you are talking about, is this the toolkit from hasoon2000?
I've used v2.1 and the program gives an error when i tried to flash TWRP.
But i will give it another try.

Thanx Mate! Thank you thank you thank you very very much!
Did what you said.
Booted the phone in bootloader, then installed TWRP through the toolkit.
Then I've put the file, 2.20.401.5_odexed on my SD.
Again in bootloader i installed this image.
It boot!
Strange thing though, he's not rooted any more.
Maybe going to do those steps again!

On my first V10 I was able to swipe the second screen (main screen off) to show quick setting toggles (sound, wifi, flashlight, bluetooth and camera). I am now on another refurbished V10 from t-mobile and when I swipe left or right all that shows is music player and app shortcuts but I need those quick setting toggles. Can someone please tell me how to enable it? I have dirtycow root with magisk su on stock 20L.
I also have stock 20L rooted. There is no setting for turning them off or on, they seem to be built into the second screen and only show when the main screen is off and the second screen is on. I swipe from right to left. However I do not have app shortcuts appear with main screen off, only with main screen on.

My second screen settings are both enabled, screen is off and it only swipes from sig to music and that's it.
Update: Talked to T-mobile higher tech support and they didn't know and gave me LG's number and they don't know either and want me to start a repair thing on their website and send it in...ain't got time for that...
I also have an upcoming plans selection. The stock 20L I'm running is @Eliminator74's stock rooted untouched (not any of his custom/debloat), but that was built from the official kdz.

I am running FULL stock from Eliminator74's thread, not a debloated (different rom same thread). There are "Google" apps that are vital to android, that when removed are fatal. Eliminator74 is a good dev and left in what was necessary for proper function. Also Don't wipe system, the rom .zip does that for you. This device is very sensitive to how you flash.

no just dirty flash, do I wipe data, cache and dalvik only?
In TWRP wipe menu there is a factory reset option that will do the same as a true factory reset which includes /data and maybe internal storage (I know stock recovery wipes internal storage with /data, but TWRP might be programmed to separate internal storage from /data). That is the wipe option to use between different roms. Also the only TWRP I have found to work the best is this one
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24533100289590702
In the TWRP install menu navigate to folder where you saved the file and hit the install img button at the bottom of the screen, when done reboot recovery and you should have a fully functional TWRP

Now I'm backing up my stuff and gonna do factory reset and reflash.
Also I just noticed my time doesn't show on 2nd screen when main screen is off. It shows notifications and my sig, swiping only shows music.
There are 3 TWRP threads for t-mo v10. This one is the only one of 2 with the same version number that works properly, the other one has more features added but has many bugs that the dev has no intention of fixing nor asking for help from other TWRP devs.

Okay, i did a factory reset in TWRP and now my toggles are showing again. Now im working on magisk su and xposed.
I used unsu and tried to install magsk su 11.1 and it say SU image mount failed, please immediately flash supersu now, i flash supersu-root-beta-v2.67.zip it says already patched and restore failed. flash magsk su 11.1 again and it says unable to restore ramdisk.
