Question about Z5C processor revision - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was doing some reading online when I came across a review of the Z5C somewhere and they had taken a screenshot from cpu-z.
I had noticed that the revision number on the SOC tab in the review is r0p2 whereas mine is r1p1..
So I was wondering perhaps if someone here could shed some light if there are any differences or what it might mean?
Thanks

Cpu-z reported mine as having both those rev numbers. And then revision wasn't even listed when I ran it again.

Just noticed that after a bit of use i also got both numbers
Still curious though as to what it means.

I'm also wondering what it means?

GS3 LTE version (US) I need your help!

Hi! I'd like US owners (Also Canadian and Japanese) of the LTE version of the GS3 to run some tests for me. So I'm still trying to decide if I should go for the US version or for the int version, so can you please try PSX and N64 emulators for me and tell me if they are running fine like on those video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa9d2cK6Ybs (1:40 for the N64 emulator) and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAQkRNx4t_4
The GPU is really my main worry on the US version since CPU are almost equal.
Thanks!
That's going to be pretty hard to do, seeing as how their not being released until next week, June 21st.

My bad I though the device was already released with some carriers, can we know if the GPU will have the same perfs or will a GPU be far behind the other?
I only read one comparison on GPU specs and they were claiming the US version was better. But I guess you cant rely on that till we can really compare the 2 side by side in the real world.

Yes and they were comparing the old GPU (the one from the GS2 with lowers clocks etc...)
But the thing is that nobody really knows what GPU will be in the US version...1 guy speculated what they thought was on there so you can barely find the assumed 225 mentioned because nobody has a clue. Again until you see a real US version in the wild, its all guessing. Dont worry either way you will still have the best phone available right now. Then near the end of the year that will change, its ok and how it goes.

LG Intuition CPU?

I have a couple family members who are on Verizon and want a big phone. I've mentioned the LG Intuition to them and they, of course, asked me "Is it any good?" I told them I wasn't sure of the specs and would check, and I was heavily annoyed by the conflicting information i found.
I got most all the specs figured out, the one thing i don't know is what CPU it has. All VZW says is 1.5 GHz Dual-Core, which narrows it down to about half the ARM chips on the market. Googling it, most everyone says Qualcomm, but no one seems to know (or agree on) WHICH Snapdragon it is - S3 or S4
Anyone know which it is?
This phone appears to have a Dual-Core 1.5GHz (SnapDragon S4) chip inside of it. These chips are indeed produced by Qualcomm
I'm fully aware snapdragons are made by qualcomm. The question is, S3 or S4? Because I can't seem to find any proof either way.
If it is the S4, as you say, how do you know?
It's an s3.

It haS
S3 not S4

we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.

i have had the device since last friday. It has a 1.5 Snapdragon S3. It runs well on this device. Kudos to LG on this one and I am not a big LG fan. I just wanted to try something out with a big screen.
LG Intuition
android community reports it's a Qualcomm MSM8960 PC Mag says that is a Snapdragon S4
I just bought mine yesterday...I really love it. I hate the bloatware...but hopefully i can root it soon.

I've had this phone for 4 days now and I was in love as soon as I started playing with it, I read reviews about it online and honestly I think it's Bs, I have no problem holding the phone and the squareness of it, I love.
It's fast and of course the big screen is awesome.

I bricked my LG Intuition and found out after that LG has a added security measure that if you remove pre-installed apps the first time you power the device off and back on it locks the device!!!!! The phone has a feature that you can disable apps you dont want wich will keep those apps from caching and using memory.
Don't think that's true bud. OP, I am 6'8" and absolutely love my intuition. I just got it successfully rooted about a week and a half ago after a LOT of researching and the first thing I did was remove all unwanted bloatware (it was killin me to see like 3 shopping apps stuck on my phone like amazon and swoops!). Haven't had a single problem since, aside from not being able to find a jb rom!

Have you had any luck fixing the phone? I recently bricked my intuition also doing the same thing...removing extra apps.

I've read in multiple places that removing certain Google apps does trigger the phone, on next boot, displaying "LG Security Error" (you can find the image if you poke around the filesystem). I did the same after rooting - taking out most of the apps I didn't want but I didn't touch any Google apps for fear it would break something,
I've also read in one place that another app or service actually verifies and if that's disabled, then the security check doesn't run. I have not been able to confirm yet.

[Q] Help identify hardware version

Hi,
New user here. Nice meeting you all
I ordered Galaxy S-II I9100 phones from a reputable eBay seller. I ordered the International version in new condition. I paid more to get the International version instead of Korean version.
I got the phones and opened one of them. I noticed the back side looks different than the version AnandTech reviewed. The arrangement is different: There is no microSD slot on the left, and the battery contacts are on the opposite side.
I'm hoping you guys can help me identify what version I received and if I should have any trouble with it (as far as repairs and firmware upgrades down the road). I still have time to complain to eBay/seller.
Perhaps we could also use the SN and/or IMEI to confirm its authenticity with Samsung?
Link to my phone picture: img11.imageshack.us/img11/3958/z4vb.jpg
Link to AnandTech picture: images.anandtech.com/doci/4686/SGS2-4033.jpg
Thanks
It sure looks like a knock off.
I don't trust the "Made in Korea by Samsung" message as well of the size of the font & sticker.
What is it running?
Get a benchmark app and see what scores you get as well as that device's specs.

I haven't powered it on yet. What benchmarking app should I run? I'll do it tomorrow first thing.
antutu or quadrant
Sent from the little guy
Ok, I got the info. The device seems at least halfway legit. What's your take?
Settings > About Phone
Model Number: GT-I9100
Android version: 2.3.4
Baseband version: I9100XXKG1
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XXKG1-CL349526 [email protected] #2
Build number: GINGERBREAD.XXKG1
antutu:
"Authenticated" Galaxy SII (GT-I9100)
Total score: 9779
CPU: 2465
GPU: 5484
RAM: 1251
I/O: 579
1200MHz (x2) [480x800]
quadrant:
Total: 2555 (just below the Galaxy Nexus)
CPU: 4434
Mem: 2575
I/O: 2974
2D: 1000
3D: 1793
I just went and ran quadrant on my brother's stock, unrooted i9100. It scored 3769 overall. That's 4.1.2 JB though. Didn't get to try Antutu unfortunately. But 2555 seems really low.
Edit: the 'about phone' that you posted all seems legit though.

I'd like to go to to a repair shop and hear their impression first hand. There's a good shop not far from here. I need to have a conclusion today.
I just managed to pinch the phone again and run antutu. It got 8234, even odder. Getting a service shop opinion isn't about bad idea, they see a lot of phone insides.

Ok I have an update. The service shop confirmed that the phone is the Korean version of the Galaxy S II. It's authentic Samsung but will only last as long as it is fully functional. Since the internals are different they won't be able to take it in for repairs. Might also face issues with Android OS updates and custom ROMs. Hope eBay will let me return these. Thanks again for the feedback guys.
eBay, sneaky little bastards.

The fault is equally mine for thinking I'm being smart out there...
at least you did your research right after you got it.

[Q] Recent Build Quality and S/N ?

Hi guys!
As the New Revision and Light Bleed thread seems to loose people's attention, I wonder if that means that recently produced units are finally flawless :fingers-crossed:
Is there anyone who recently purchased a Nexus 9? Did it have any flaws?
Also, I am wondering what build date recently shipped devices have. Could anyone who recently purchased one post the first 4 characters of their serial number (and maybe where they purchased)?
Any posts highly appreciated

Hm, okay, HT4C means December 2014. Interestingly, I have never actually read of a device produced in 2015 (HT51). I wonder if they are still in production.
It seems as if they produced a huge amount in October and November 2014, expecting high demand. Sales then went worse than expected due to mediocre reviews, so they are still selling the devices produced back then. This seems to apply especially for the black model.

I have a HT515 (January 2015) black Nexus 9 LTE and it's perfect - no light bleed, no dead pixels, no creaking.
Mine is HT4C black 32GB LTE version from Amazon.de and I have no build quality issues. Screen, buttons, back cover are without issues

Li-Ion or Li-Poly battery?

Hello, recently, I have been curious in what kind of battery that my Honor 5X uses, I'm using the U.S variant (KIW-L24) and when I open apps that show my specifications of my device (like CPU-Z, Antutu Benchmark, CPU-X) they all say Li-Poly in the battery section. But then I look at the specifications for the device on the Honor store, and in gsmarena specifications for this device, and it says "Li-Ion". Then, I looked up a video of JerryRigEverything taking apart the phone and revealing the battery (I wanted to see what the battery would say what type it was) and I see that it says "Li-Ion Polymer Battery. At this point, I don't know WHAT type of battery this device uses, Li-ion? Li-Poly? Li-Ion Poly? Someone please help me classify the type of battery it uses, thank you!
(Search on Youtube: "JerryRigEverything Honor 5X teardown", and go to exactly 1:05 in the video to see it say "Li-Ion Polymer Battery" I would link it, but I cannot until after 10 post because I am a new member)

Really good question. I have to say this though after putting my Honor 5X through its paces this week. I absolutely Must go back to my HAM2 because this one is not nearly enough for my taste. Maybe it is the battery type after all? But I hate the drain, something the HAM2 never did.

Well It you scream with poor batterys Life to Honor Support they give you tips like. 'Dont use your phone when charging It can get damaged, dont keep it on the Charger the whole night' so i guess a really old one x)
Please stay on topic guys, I'm trying to get help/figure out what kind of battery the phone actually uses, not something else, thank you.
If I had to bet, I would bet on the physical label that was shown on the battery in the video is the most likely to be correct? Because those apps which read system information have been known to be wrong the past. Information posted on a company's web site is not always accurate either. Probably some intern is copy and pasting it into the web site and isn't going to double check everything with the higher ups to make sure who ever gave them the info to put into the site is correct. And if I remember correctly, the Honor web site briefly listed the Honor 5x as having a Snapdragon 615 and then later they fixed the site to say 616. That might be one of the reasons why some professional reviews on the Honor 5x label it as a 615 device cuz they got the info from the Honor site when it had incorrect information at the time (the Android Police review is an example of this).
That's not to say a physical label has never been wrong. It just seems most likely to be double or even triple checked before going out because unlike a web site which can have info changed very quickly, a bunch of incorrect labels out there is a mess, especially in places where "false advertising" is a big deal. It seems like mostly counterfeit or garbage tier products will have labels with bogus information because they don't care about false advertising.
