Hi,
I am currently on Build KIW52H. I recently got my watch back from warranty after a failed screen. Now when i hit the update button, it starts downloading the update. After restart, i see that the build number and OS stays the same. When i hit the update button again, the white screen shows [Public]KIW52H-->LWX49K and nothing else.
Any ideas how to proceed and what am i missing here?
Thanks!
i had the same issue
reset device
I had the same issue basically reset the watch in the settings option. Let for it to revert back and go through the set up again( when it gets to the tutorial do nothing). At the very beginning of the turorial swipe right and select skip tutorial then go to settings>about>system update and it will begin downloading. Now leave it sit close to your phone(I suggest leaving both your phone and watch on a table or somewhere near wifi and leave them be it can take 15 to 20 min for the update to download) now when the update is a little over 1/4 done it may reset on you. It's ok when it boots back up go back to settings>about> system updates and if it continues downloadin you're in the clear if not start from the beginning all over (it took me 3 tries). If it continued downloading then just let it sit and it will do the rest. When it's done you'll have the newest version

So, I don't have my touch pro yet, but I think this could help some. What this should do is remove the Verizon cruft from your phone and their software that reverts your changes.
1. Save all data off your phone. You will be performing a Hard reset which will ERASE ALL DATA. BACK IT UP!
2. Hard Reset your phone and don't walk away.
3. Now, go through the windows mobile screen calibration process.
4. Once that's done the normal home screen should pop up. A little box that says Configuring Your Device will appear.
5. If will likely have a 3 or 5 sec count down, LET IT CONTINUE.
6. When the count down is finished and the little bar starts to move Soft reset (via the hole) ASAP.
7. Your phone should restart and no boxes should come up. I heard it took people a couple soft resets to make the configuration box disappear completely.
So now your phone won't have some things install on it. These probably include the VZ App store and their OTA sync programs. I don't know if TF3D or Opera will be there.
To get back some of the stuff (should you decide it necessary) you will need to enable the ExtRom on the phone. Here's the problem: I don't know how to do that. Thus I don't know it's contents and what should be installed.
What I do know is that you'll have a FULLY stock rom that should be faster minus some crap without unlocking or flashing if you're not yet ready to do that. Please report your findings on what you know is/isn't there if you try this or if you know the contents of the standard ExtRom.
I've had Cyanogenmod 9 nightlies on my SGS2 since April. I didn't install every single one, but pretty much only those with good ratings, specifically those that had no complains about battery drain and heating...
Currently on the 06-28-2012 nightly. This ran fine at first, but over time, it started to occasionally crash into Kernel Panic. I figured I'd just pick a new nightly, but then I ended up having to travel and installation of a new nightly got delayed.
Now I'm home, and I can't use the phone at all, cause it crashes into Kernel Panic almost as soon as I unlock the screen after Android finishes booting. The last thing I see up in the message bar is "WhatsApp error" and the screen goes dark. It won't stay on long enough for me to uninstall WhatsApp or select factory reset from the system menu.
I don't think its a problem with WhatsApp, cause WhatsApp used to run fine, while Kernel Panics originally mainly seemed to happen after I got a "storage full" message. In response, I deleted a load of pictures after rebooting, to make sure there's free space, but it kept crashing occasionally, till now, its just unusable.
I've tried to flash a stock Samsung ROM (I9100XWLPG_I9100XXLPX_I9100NEELP4_HOME.tar.md5) but that hasn't been working either.
Kies drivers are installed on my Laptop. Odin sees the phone too.
I followed the instructions from the rom page, changed no settings in Odin, just picked PDA and selected the ROM.
Odin goes "Added" when I plug in the phone, verifies the ROM, then the whole thing hangs on "setting up connection"
So I unplug, pull the battery and then reboot, which works fine, but once booted, it won't stay on longer than a few seconds.
Anyway, does anyone have any clever ideas how I can get out of this Kernel Panic loop?

What's preventing you from factory resetting from recovery?
Lack of knowledge is preventing me!
How do you factory reset from the "Kernel Panic Download Mode"...?
Download Android Commander from here:
http://androidcommander.com/
Boot your phone, don't unlock.
Start Android Commander, navigate to /data/apps and delete WhatsApp's apk (com.whatsapp1.apk or something like that) or rename it to .apk.bak
Restart your phone without unlocking.
Hope the errors gone.
Hi,
Originally my phone was from the UK Carphone Warehouse (CPW)
I have upgraded it from 2.2 to 2.3 etc...
The last time I did a firmware upgrade to ICS was a few months back and I didn't have any problem doing it.
After the upgrade, I had a few bugs. I used this file - GT-I9100_XEO_I9100XXLPW_I9100OXALPW_I9100XXLPW.tar and the main bugs I have are - The screen won't lock and when I press the Power Button, it will turn the screen off but when I hold it for 1 second the phone closes down.
So today I thought, lets see if I can change my firmware to a CPW version, so I downloaded GT-I9100_XEU_I9100XWLP7_I9100XXLPS_I9100XEULP5.tar and installed that. It went through the usual stuff and upon restarting I was getting an "android.core" crash. The screen stops working and after several reboots nothing change. I also booted up and cleared the cache, and this didn't do anything either.
I have just reverted back to the first ICS upgrade but still has not screen lock or when I press the power button for 1 second it closes down.
I wondered if anyone else has had these problems or could recommend to me what may fix it.
I appreciate all help
Thanks

You're in the wrong section, this has nothing to do with development

First of all wrong section mate... By the way u hav written it seems that u hav not wiping the DATA or factory reset after every flash. Try wiping DATA before and after flashing.. Also wipe cache..
Hi. I tried to update my kw88. After a while, I thought it was taking much time. So, I forcefully restarted the uodate. Now, the phone always show a message: reboot system now. When I press ok, it comes back to the same place where it shows reboot system now. Plz help how to solve this problem and open my watch.
wrong place to ask
Last week on Thursday, I allowed Verizon to install their Software Update 21 (April 2020.) It made it as far as the going through the optimizing apps and then was stuck in a boot loop. The phone would be usable for about a minute, then would freeze, and then reboot. If I clicked on the System Update option in settings, it would say that a system update was in progress. I chatted with Verizon, and they ended up telling me that the only way to stop the update was to do a factory reset, which I am doing everything I can not to do that as I don't want to lose my data.
I changed it into maximum power mode and it did stop the update for that time being and I was able to use the phone, texting, etc. This allowed me to at least connect the phone to my computer to backup all of the directories. After many reboots, on Friday it finally stopped doing the update and gave me an error which I think was 410. It thought it was updated, though did show as failed. When checking for updates, it said it was the current version. Twice I was able to get the phone to stop by freezing when going to the app and stopping some programs (sadly, I was not able to remember the exact combination that worked) which allowed me to use the phone like normal. All this while, I was uninstalling a large amount of the apps that I had installed hoping that would minimize whatever may have been causing the problem.
Went to each of the google and samsung apps, stopped, disable, and reverted them all back to factory defaults. Guess that was a bad idea, from then on I received an error as soon as the phone started which caused it to go directly into recovery mode. I chatted with samsung and they thought it might be a hardware issue. I still think it is related to their software update, so not a hardware issue.
By using Odin, I loaded the firmware from March 2020, and when it rebooted, it did go as far as optimizing the apps, though anytime it booted up, it would never get past the white verizon loading screen. It took me hours before I discovered that Odin was failing to load the firmware on the phone as the Windows 10 laptop only had USB 3.0 ports which don't always work with Odin, and ended up being successful using my old Windows XP laptop as the USB 2.0 ports worked fine. After a bit hanging on the verizon loading screen, it would reboot and never went past. I have been able to load the March and April 2020, though none of them will ever get past that white verizon loading screen. I did see something say that in loading TWRP, I could possibly do a full backup of the phone which is what I would like to do.
One time I only loaded the AB file for a different version than I had loaded, and it was the first time it went beyond the white screen, only to tell me that the verification failed and it would need for me to do a factory reset. I was able to reboot the phone without actually doing the reset.
I have read many posts here and the forums on androidcentral, and with so many things, I really needed to post to get guidance from people here that can point me in the right direction for any other things that I can try. As you have read, doing everything that I can to get the phone working by keeping my data. Any help would really be appreciated.
