Unofficial CM13.0 910F/G - NEW - Galaxy Note 4 Android Development (Snapdragon)

I'VE GOT NO TIME AT ALL RIGHT NOW DUE TO PERSONAL MATTERS. IF ANYONE FEELS LIKE BEING ABLE TO TAKE THIS OVER, PLEASE, SEND ME A PM.
This is a follow up from this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/unofficial-cm13-0-910f-g-t3243386/post63707846).
Quite a few people asked for test driving CM13.0/Marshmallow. However since a lot of stuff was broken, we felt it didnt make much sense to put a flashable ROM out there. But a lot of progress has been made and the basic functionality (more or less) seems to work now, so I thought let's open a thread where people can dump their unofficial Cm13.0 versions for others to try.
If you want a stable version, use the official Cm12.1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/orig-development/official-cm12-910f-910g-t3046965
This thread will be active untill we feel it's stable enough to make it official.
Notes:
Bootloader and Modem:
Make sure you are (at least) on COI3 bootloader and modem.
I recommend that you install COJ3 and COL2, since the blobs used in the latest builds are from them. To do so, install these two files:
CP_N910F_COJ3.tar --> you can find it here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=41392
BL_N910F_COL2_agsola.tar --> I didn't find it anywhere, so I packaged it and upload it here: https://mega.nz/#!JtY1gb5Y!h2AKBC_j-kHiokh9EnnS-QV00-RWszqbq95dr2s8fCI (it works on my mobile, 910F)
See the post below for instructions about how to install it.
Installation instructions: (compiled for trltexx).
1) You'll probably want to backup your existing installation with TWRP
2) Do a full factory reset
3) Flash this ROM: https://goo.gl/VKHILd (date: 2016-04-11) -- older builds below.
4) Flash gapps from opengapps: http://opengapps.org (choose 6.0 and ARM)
Update from previous build:
1) Flash ROM.
2) Restart.
Working:
Mostly everything, including fast charging and fingerprint (though a bit buggy yet, it takes a bit to get a fingerprint added (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65391708&postcount=1113)).
If you want to build it yourself, @fattire wrote this wonderful tutorial: https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/index....ild_CM_Marshmallow_for_trlte_WORK_IN_PROGRESS
Other notes:
* You guys might want to try the Marshmallow multi window mode ! Enable it in the developer options. Once enabled, go to the recent apps and press the symbol next to the X for windows you want.
* You'll probably want to enable MTP over USB by default, also in developer options
* Enable root also, again, via developer options.
Known bugs/problems
* I've seen some battery drains, not sure if they still persist, I expect they do.
* Camera a bit buggy
* Display lights up dimmed for a few seconds and goes of then. Seems to be CM13 related. Press power twice fixes the problem.
* Probably a lot more
What do we need to get out of nightly?? (by fattire)
* Most importantly, selinux must be enabled/working before this can become an official nightly. You'll notice in the settings the ROM is still running in permissive mode. It took slayher a few days to make sure everything was good selinux-wise in 12.1-- has anyone tried "setenforce 1" in a root shell to see what happens? And what happens if you take permissive out of the kernel command line? I haven't tried it yet. I'm guessing there are no selinux experts in the crowd... which I'm certainly not.... anyone want to step up and learn how all those .te files work and be willing to tweak them if necessary? -- done by @fattire
* Another thing I haven't tried-- has anyone tried to make an emergency call with the phone locked? I don't recommend anyone trying to call 911 randomly, but this seems like something someone should verify as working as well. -- tested by agsola, works.
* I am thinking that the standard across devices seems to be to move the RIL file to the -common from the device flavor directory, as @ZION959 has already done. I can do this as well but I don't want to break the xx builds... anyone have any thoughts on this? -- done
* Can anyone think of any other obstacles to a nightly build? Well, the latest source would need to be uploaded to gerrit (Review.cyanogenmod.com) for the various devices. This is something anyone can do by the way...
KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS STILL HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL AND NOT MEANT TO BE A DAILY DRIVER FOR THE AVERAGE USER AT THIS POINT

Mine too.

Been using it since 1512 build. Works great!! Thnx again for making this possible.
One thing that bothers me is the fingerprint scanner not working but I guess we'll have to be patience.
But other than that great ROM

Im on POK1 bootloader and modem, will it still work?

[Kernel] Starship Kernel 06/29/2015 (Stock/AOSP_5.1.1|CM-12.1|)

Starship Kernel is being developed in conjunction with the not yet posted Starship Rom. Like I had done with the KK incarnation of the Starship Rom I am also posting the Kernel separately for anyone who may not like the Rom's Theme. Though unlikely as that may sound because I have spent much time and effort with the Kernel am posting the Kernel separately so it can be used with other Roms and not just Starship.
If you are looking for new features to play with this will not be the Kernel for you. It is designed to improve the overall experience as if it was not there. At this point and probably never you wont find over clocking or voltage controls to play with but rather just a more efficient overall experience.
Each Kernel Download section contains a link to the commit list for both the purpose of following rules about posting links to Kernel Sources as well as serving as a change log. You will find in the main branch all Linux Kernel Increment Updates are grouped into one commit. This is to easily distinguish what commits have been made as part of the Linux Kernel Increment Updates from other additions/optimizations that are not part of the Linux Version Updates. You can find descriptions of each change made as part of the Increment Updates in the staging branch. In other words the second link below the download links will give a description off the changes made in the Linux Version Updates .
Downloads
AOSP/Stock (Android Version 5.1.1)
AOSP/Stock Kernel is compiles using Google's GCC 4.8 toolchain and tested tested on the Stock 5.1.1 Rom as well as AOSP compiled Rom using unmodified pure 5.1.1 Source code. The Kernel may or may not work on custom Roms based on 5.1.1 depending on what changes have been made by the Roms developer and how far the Rom has strayed from the original source code. In most cases if the Rom is AOSP based the Kernel will work but provide no guarantee as am not testing with every ROM available. If you do find a Rom the Kernel does not work with feel free to comment but please include what Kernel was used that did not work as I may be able to shed light on reasons why and provide a workaround if possible. Most of incompatibility will find that the Kernel is not the issue rather what is included inside the boot.img like Ramdisk iinit.rc files that set permissions and create the Rom file-system.

CM-12.1
CM-12.1 Kernels may be updated more frequently without posting a new date so don’t be surprised to see multiple release number increments. In most cases there has been no change in the Kernel itself but update frequently as development is fast moving. Because of this some of the files that get packaged into the boot.img along with the Kernel may change and cause issues. Because of this will update as frequently as I can to insure everything packaged into the boot.img is up to date.

Just decided to include the CM-11 Kernel for anyone who may be using CM-11. Is a nice Kernel and gave me an extra hour or two battery so recompiling with a few new commits I have been using in both CM-12 & AOSP. Will post in a few. Checking nothing else may have changed on the CM side with the rest of the boot.img and will post in a bit.
I will try out the AOSP kernel tonight or tomorrow, we are under blizzard conditions right now and can't mess with phone because of work (boss & I texting back and fourth)
Thanks for your work

Sorry about this then but have uploaded an update. I had intended on holding off until reaching Linux version 3.4.40 as it is the version I had left off with for Kit-Kat and have just been modifying each version increment patch from the Kit-Kat 3.4 Kernel for Lollipop. Anyhow last night before bed had used my Bluetooth Headset with the current version and sounded like I had gone out and bought a brand new higher end set so decided to post the update now. Found in the past Android can have a completely different experience when it comes to different BT devices like for example the same headset had become completely unusable on my N7 with constant skips and pauses on 4.4.4 after working beautifully on 4.4.3 so hope others can hear the same boost in overall audio quality including BT headsets.
Updated Kernels with a few new optimizations and 3.4.36 version update
Ok will try it

Looks to be up and running. Can try direct links though.
updated so links are no longer current.
Well it feels like with all the side track projects been talking Starship L long enogh maybe some of those who have sent PM's asking about the lollipop update are starting to become doubters so decided to post up a few screen shots. Was going to finish a few things then go over the theme image by image and color by color but think instead after finishing up a few things will post and then start going over each apk over again for touching up, fixing and adding missed optimizations including Kernel updating along the way. Once again not for everyone so haters can hate and I just keep doing it because its what I like doing.
Made new boot.img for Stock / AOSP 5.1.0 as old image used in 5.0 - 5.0.2 caused boot loops.

Honestly have been meaning but have not tried MultiROM. Looked over at the thread and see allot of mention about the boot.img and modifications. If I had to guess with the limited knowledge I have would say if not working is not so much the Kernel but the boot.img in the same way that both the Stock / AOSP zips posted are the same exact Kernel inside but changes made to files like the init.rc inside the 5.1.0 boot.img that creates the file system and sets permissions among a score of other things caused 5.1.0 from booting properly after updating and flashing the boot.img. As developers we use the name Kernel but there is much more inside than the actual Kernel. In some cases can be more than a dozen other scripts and other files inside. Will need to try and learn a bit about MultiROM. Out of curiosity was it Stock or CM giving you issues?
Little more reading and looks like not everyone including CM has updated to include new bootloader version checks to include new bootloader from the 5..1.0 update. So for example I needed to change the bootloader version in CM source or nightly builds will not flash in TWRP without errors.
Maybe an update on this if flashing CM version, seems latest CM12 is receiving errors flashing with some recovery versions and must be installed via adb / fastboot. Article was not specific on the reason but may be the cause.
Added updates to version 3.4.42 for both 5.1.0 and under. The 5.0.2 zip should work for all stock and AOSP Roms from 5.0 - 5.0.2. Because of changes in 5.1.0 boot.img 5.1.0 will not boot when used with a lower Android Version.
Slightly disappointed as today had planned on posting full Starship Rom but now updating for 5.1.0 so maybe another week maybe two
So any details on what this kernel does? Or is our just close to stock?
CM12 Kernel is on hold until 5.1.0 version update. No reason testing anything new until can confirm everything will still work next week. Also figures the same week I had planned on posting the full Starship Rom the 5.1.0 update hit so now am back in testing optimizing phase for a bit longer.
3.30.2015 update
Linux version has been updated to version 3.4.55
All MR1 changes added to the 5.1.0 AOSP Kernel have been merged into the Kernel
https://github.com/Starship-Android...mmit/8ed8c47ff15f1c5fdd6707f7a52f76110aed6cbf
4.6.2015 update
Not much on the AOSP/Stock side. Wanted to post a cm12 update so decided to post the AOSP/Stock kernel earlier than I would normally with a few Linux version update patches. With that said updating the Kernel only takes a minute or so and not like asking to flash a new Rom. Kernels are easy and these days faster to flash than g-apps. Also used the 5.1.0_r3 source to compile the boot image for 5.1 instead of 5.1.0_r1 source I had been using. Honestly though did not check if anything changed that is packed into the boot.img along with the Kernel between r1 & r3 so may or may not make any difference what so ever.
Forgot, marked the cm-12.1 kernel as beta just because cm-12.1 is pretty much beta. Otherwise the Starship 12.1 Kernel is the Starship CM12 Kernel merged with the Cyanogen 12.1 Kernel . Not that the two had been far apart to start but the 12.1 CM Kernel merged into the Starship cm12 kernel clean as a whistle with 0 conflicts. Was pretty happy about that so going foreword will just be working on the 12.1 Kernel with the Starship cm-12 Kernel soon going the way of the 5.0 - 5.0.2 Stock/AOSP Starship Kernels.
Now finally since the actual Starship Rom I have been working on since the darn preview release ending as mostly caf based with CM-12.1 coming together can start updating from 5.0.2 into 5.1 as had just finished going over the first draft and was about to post when the 5.1 update hit. Otherwise wanted to post the first draft and then go over the entire Rom a second time looking over the theme images, features and optimizations with a magnifying glass.
Have updated both Stock / AOSP and cm-12.1 Kernels up to Linux 3.4.65 with a few other additions and weeding. Has and been running pretty sweet on both so far.
Stock / AOSP 3.4.65 Kernel boot.img has been compiled using the 5.1.1 AOSP Source and tested on both 5.1.0 & 5.1.1 with no issue and as mentioned above running pretty sweet.
I cant install on aicp 5.1.1

EDIT: Flashed on top of an already-encrypted device and it decrypts and works just fine.
Blisspop, my favourite lollipop Rom. Now I'm on Temasek 6.0 (CAF) but I will try this one in a few days. Excellent work Vivek_Neel.

lol, you should update the OP )
1. refer to post #3 for older builds
2. is the 20160120 latest or "Latest Download(19/01)"
3. nice job, been waiting for this one
Thanks a lot
Thanks for porting BP to MM!
So I had the last CAF build flashed and decided to upgrade with this rom and had the oppo.verify_trustzone error. Followed instructions posted on Cm13 thread here and it is booting fine
Here are the instructions I used:
If you get an error when trying to install ("oppo.verify_trustzone" error), then first you must install/use TWRP recovery 2.8.6.0 (TWRP 2.8.7.0 cannot properly update the modem). Next, download and flash the latest official CM13.0 nightly. Then, without rebooting from recovery, wipe /system and flash my ROM. This process is necessary to update various firmwares (including TrustZone), as the updated firmware is needed by my ROM. After flashing my ROM, flash a Google apps package, and then reboot.[/COLOR]
Installation instructions (for updating to a newer release):
If you are already running my CM13.0 ROM, then you can update to a newer version of the ROM via the built-in OTA updater or by simply dirty-flashing the new ROM build without wiping anything. HOWEVER, do NOT reinstall Google Apps after installing a new update.

flashed open gapps and it booted fine, let it sit for 5 minutes after boot, rebooted in to recovery, and flashed Xposed-v79-sdk23-arm.zip.
Restarted phone and it stuck in bootloop
went back into recovery, sideloaded xposed uninstaller, wiped cache and it boots again.
miss the custom pattern unlock too
OP feel free to continue these builds if you like. OPO builds from source with no issues now but I have no problems with you building unofficial. However if you would like to contribute to the OPO source just let me know via PM and we can get you sorted out.
Just messing with optimization routines and toolchains now. Thank you for all your help man! The team thanks you as well!

[ROM] [5.1.1] Custom OxygenOS [04-04-16]

Custom OxygenOS OneplusX - COSX ROM
Intro
First of, I'm not a developer. I'm just a guy who put a couple of things together. I'm a bit above noob-level, so dont excpect high end stuff like some prestigious developers. That being said, I have put this ROM together because of the lack of ROMS based on our original software for the OneplusX. Don't expect to much, the most things happen under the hood. So no shiny backgrounds or boot screens.
Disclaimer
You know the drill, flashing happens under own responsibility. I have tested everything on two devices, and will not put anything online that can possibily harm or damage our device in any way. This being said, if you need support, ask in this thread.
Open Source
The ROM i have created is for the community, which in my opinion also means it should be fully open source. You can edit everything you want. You can use it as base for whatever you like. No need to ask permission or give reference. Seeing the amount of customized original software, I would be happy to see more custom oos roms pop up. No need to put restrictions on anything. Please just don't bother me with antutu benchmark related complaints.

I think OP managed to put most of the tweaks one can do to the Stock OOS and created a zip flash package.
IIRC, I did pretty much similar things on my Stock OOS before moving over to CM13.
Good Job OP saving a lot of time for those who want to enjoy the stock experience.

Good work :good: Might try this as I kinda liked OOS but I'm currently running Marshmallow and CM based crDroid, so also might not go back to Lollipop
Biggest issues I had with the stock OOS 2.2.0 were:
1. Camera in low light situations. I think it's fixed here with Snapdragon camera?
2. Random rebooting, sometimes few times a day, sometimes few days without. Mostly occurred when playing any game with stock ROM. Is this custom OOS more stable?
3. I could not assign Menu action to HW buttons e.g. long pressing and this led to situation where I had to install Xposed framework and some module to get Menu in Titanium Backup to change backup location to SD card. Is this fixed here with Custom Hardware keys remap?
I know I should test this ROM myself, just pointing out biggest issues I had with stock OOS.
can u include the stock camera which has manual focus, exposure and iso??? or atleast let me know can i implement the stock oos camera in ur rom cheers

Same request here. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks for your work!
So proximity wake up ambient display works in this rom ?
And what type of themes are supported ? Layers or CM ?
Theme support
So OP, You have provided Layers or CM theme engine into rom?
Though Layers supported Stock OOS 2.2.0(Partially not all the themes were working) .

I said that deodexed is slower than odex rom. So that means this rom is slower than original OOS right ? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

[ROM][CM14.1][UNOFFICIAL] Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 LTE SM-T285

*** This project is now abandoned in favor of the LineageOS variant ***
This is a port of Cyanogenmod 14.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (2016) LTE SM-T285. Cyanogenmod needs no introduction, it is one of the most popular aftermarket ROM distributions around.
5.1.1 is the best that you can get from samsung right now and it is not known if they plan to do any upgrades. I have absolutely no idea why samsung chose to stay with the outdated 5.1.1 mid 2016 when we already got 7.1 coming out. This custom rom is probably the best you can get if you want an upgrade from Lollipop. Performance on the latest build is also better, you be the judge.
As this is the first CM-14.1 release, I don't recommend you use this as a daily driver, but it should be good enough for some. Make sure you read the pending issues below and decide if this is acceptable to you before you flash this rom. This rom probably won't get much use out of some people until bluetooth is fixed.
Based off on Cyanogenmod 14.1 sources which is based on Nougat 7.1.

Update Dec 3, 2016
===============
Fixed GPS, Wifi Hotspot, Graphics issues, Calls, Camera, sdcard is now marked as adoptable.
Works:
- Wifi/SMS
- Audio
- Graphics with glitches (minor screen tearing, blank screen showing up on overlays)
- GPS
- Wifi Hotspot
- Incoming/Outgoing Calls
- MTP
Does not work:
- Bluetooth
- Camera
- LTE (Due to APN issues)
- Battery Meter not updating
Bugs/Known Issues
* Problems recording video
Other Notes:
- selinux permissive
Most of the issues are fixable, I just need more time and encouragement
SM-T280 Users: Unfortunately this rom would probably not work on it since the SM-T285 and SM-T280 have different kernels and slightly different hardware. I don't have access to this device so it would be hard for me to port it over. However I believe there are a lot of similiarities in the device tree that can be shared. If a dev with the SM-T280 is interested I can probably help.
Download
========
Remember flashing an unofficial ROM on your samsung device will probably void your warranty, Samsung representatives will probably not be able to help you as they are still stuck at 5.1.1 land as of now and have no idea how to handle a SM-T285 that is running 7.1.
As always flash this at your own risk. Make sure you have a copy of the stock ROM so that you have something to fall back to, which is highly the case when using an experimental rom.
See DevDB download section.
BUILD12032016
Note that this rom is pure stock and does not come with the Play Store or any Gapps, I suggest you download a micro gapps package separately and install it via recovery.
There have been reports that recent versions of open gapps don't work properly, it is advised to use older versions instead (e.g. open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20161109.zip)
Installation Instructions
==================
Perform a backup of all of your important files. This ROM is experimental and I will not be responsible for your loss of data.
Download the zip file and extract the tar.
Use Odin/Heimdall to flash the tar file to your device. If you are coming from stock oranother rom make sure you wipe first using TWRP. Coming from a previous version of OMNIRom for SM-T285 may not require a wipe, however please perform a wipe if you encounter problems.
Root and customization
===================
This ROM is a purely based on source and is not rooted out of the box. However you can easily root it by using TWRP to install the latest version of SuperSU.
If you want to customize this ROM and repackage it you may use this guide as a reference.

Nice job!!!
Great job! The ROM is impressively fluid, and I particularly love the way it renders fine text, which I appreciate because I prefer DPIs of 140 to 160. Unfortunately, just like in the early iterations of OmniROM 6.0, the tablet will not connect to the internet over cellular networks no matter how much I tinker with APNs. It's a great build, nevertheless, and I look forward to future releases.
Thank you !! Will give it a try.
posting here too (as did on omni - realized this is the cm 14.1 board)...
"briefly tried the cm14.1....much better very fast response-on the omni the pull down was an issue (would also ask me to format the sd card)
noticed here too the signal tends to drop in and out (wonder if it is some power saving going on-it goes to full strength during a call)...speakerphone also does not work here but must say this is better than the omni even though data does not work"
keyboard much better here too
on both cm14.1 and the omni, the dialer tends to be have some lag when pressing the numbers (do it too fast and can get many errors)-minor thing understand this is an alpha and the omni is a beta
thanks
I can't get Soft Keys to work, worked fine on the Omni ROM, only problem I have come across so far.

Those patches didn't help unfortunately Though I've fixed network type selection in CM-14.1 already, unfortunately data connection still won't come online due to errors related to APNs. Seeing as this was working perfectly in CM-13 this could be a CM-14 or Nougat related change, it will take a while to figure out what that is. As for bluetooth I was able to get it to turn on, however it is still unable to detect/pair to any device, this is also something that was working in CM-13.

Thanks a lot, revived my old opx with your ROM!
Hello,
Am I the only one who have a phone with high temperature when I use it ? Even with Whatsapp or photo apps. Not only with games.
This is really really hot !
Battery at 42°C when I use any app (Whatsapp, Chrome/ Edge, etc). That's super hot !!
Great job for this release, I have just a little bug with galery but I have flashed Open Gapps version ARM Pico because I just need Google Play (ok I use Youtube, Gmail and Maps).
However this release is better than Lineage OS 14.1 official. I have tested Adaway in stable release v4.k and v5 in beta with root magisk 20.4 but after that I have bug with camera or camera MX so for the moment I prefer use without root
Thx for this work, the Oneplus X is a good smartphone and small
