After the last updatein november I have been having big problems with transitioning from WiFi to data when I leave my house. Happens multiple times per day but not every single time I leave a Wifi network range. And of course I don't notice until I miss all my messages etc. It usually requires a phone restart or shutting off and re activating mobile data in the pull down to fix.
I installed the last update on the PC companion app correctly (back in november) and have tried a repair. Any other folks experiencing this?

I have noticed in the last few days that my new HTC One is not waking from sleep with WIFI functionality. When it wakes, the WIFI symbol in the notifications tray is gone. When I go to settings, And look at the WIFI option, It says that it is disconnected. When I touch to configure the WIFI settings, the settings app hangs on a black screen. I have to reboot my phone to get the WIFI back. Is anyone else having this issue?
Phone Model: HTC One
Router Model: ASUS RT-N66R / RT-N66U
Frequency: 5ghz
I am now testing in the 2.4ghz frequency and will report back my findings.
I can confirm that I don't experience this issue with 2.4ghz. No drops in 4 days. When I switched back to 5ghz on the 5th day, I got the drop and freeze within the hour.

I'm having the same issue. Can't tell what frequency band it's on when it happens though sorry.
I am having the exact same issue. It coincided with installation of an app called mute-o-matic in my case. I was wondering if the crash is related to the installation of this app. Could any one experiencing this crash comment on this?
[Update] It has happened 3 times in the last week. Wifi function just locked up, and had to restart phone to fix. Very frustrating. It's reasons like this that is driving me back to iOS. All the amount of tweaks and customization is not worth it when the phone is not reliable on basic functions. iPhones may be boring, but it at least I never once ever in years on owning them needed to restart it to fix a problem.
[Update 2] Android 4.3 update seemed to have solved the wifi crash issue. It is running much more stable after the update. Had it installed for 3 days now, and no crashes or self-rebooting so far.

[Update 3]
I previously thought that JB 4.3 update has rectified the wifi crash issue for good. After over a week with 4.3, wifi crash happened today.
The wifi option page was not grey-out, but it would not connect to any network, When I toggled it from "on" to "off" state, it failed to respond. At the end, only a phone reboot could fix it.
Frustrating to say the least.
[Update 4]
I can now reproduce the wifi problem when leaving the phone running on battery overnight. During the first week after 4.3 update, I left my phone plugged-in to power most of the time, and perhaps as a result, the wifi crash did not happen.
Basically, the wifi crash I am experiencing after 4.3 update is more or less the same issue reported by others on their HTC Ones (including One, One X, One S), where the wifi failed to connect after long period of inactivity.

For now, I am going to switch "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" to "Always", as suggested in the 2nd link above. This should keep the wifi connection on the during sleep, and hopefully fixes the issue. I'll report back.
Hello! I have a note 2 on sprint (sph-l900) running 4.4.2
When connected to home Wifi my notifications wont appear until I wake my phone. Every morning all my notifications come in at once.
For the past 2 days Ive been searching all over for a fix for my current issue and I'll list what I have tried thus far.
To begin with:
- I had wifi set to always on when sleeping.
- Ive checked for all updates and updated PRL and Profile
As per of google search results i have:
-Set my DNS servers to googles
-Shut off sprints connection optimizer
-added the GSM port to my router (5228)
-rebooted my device, and router
Ive seen an app that fixes a delay, but as far as the phone going to sleep its not suppose to work with that issue. ( also my updates worked in the past thru wifi, so i dont see a need to use an app)
4g my notifications are fine, although its been awhile since i used my 4g, maybe i should connect to 4g once a week or something? its been a month since i even used 4g
this behavior is erratic as I will get notifications during the day if im checking my phone, but at night my phone is silent until i wake. This wasnt always the case, a month ago my phone was normal.
Any help is appreciated!
I have a bizarre problem that just started happening, I can't connect to mobile network after using a wifi connection for some time. No matter what I do, the S6 edge won't connect.
I've tried switching mobile connection on and off, restarting the phone, turning the phone off and back on, switching sim cards with another phone (the other phone immediately gets connection), switching airplane mode on/off. I've gone to Samsung and my mobile provider and they have both blamed each other (of course, right?). The most frustrating part is that this happens about 50-75% of the time with my home and office wifi, and almost never with anyone else's wifi (for example trying it in the Samsung store). It will sometimes get a connection 10-15 minutes later, sometimes it takes several hours.
Samsung service has offered to take the phone in to 'review and test' but they need to do a full wipe and it will most likely take several days of testing. Knowing that the problem is almost impossible to replicate outside of my home and office, and the issue goes away by the time a service tech will ever see the phone, and the struggle to back up and restore my apps without root, I'm not sure what to do right now. Temporarily I have turned off wifi and just use mobile connection, but I'll hit my monthly data cap really soon.
This started happening 2 weeks after AOE4, just upgraded to AOE8 and it still happens. My phone is SM-G9250 with Taiwan ROM.
Screenshots attached to show I have good signal strength but not data connection, and the SIM in another phone having a connection (Zenfone 5 with lollipop).

Did you try wiping the cache?
I thought the cache is wiped whenever you do OTA update?
I'll do it manually again right now and see if it helps. Thanks for the tip.

I have the same issue! Very annoying, and miss phone calls all the time or am unable to make them because of this...
Will try the cache wipe
Wiped the system cache from Boot, problem still there.
I also wiped the cache for all apps.
I also tried the phone in safe mode and has the same problem.
Sent from my SM-G9250 using XDA Free mobile app
So the only work around I can find is to go into settings:
1.) 'Mobile Networks'
2.) 'Network mode'
3.) Switch to 3g/2g (I don't have 4G right now, have to pay extra for it)
4.) go to 'Network operators'
5.) 'Search Networks'
6.) choose my network provider
Now the phone works just like it always did, smoothly switch between wifi and 3G and H/H+
I'm not sure what changed as I have never had 4G since it costs me extra.
I just got a new moto e from Cricket Wireless yesterday, and it's constantly dropping the connection. It's most noticeable in the play store where it'll constantly fail to update the apps or cut out just as I'm trying to get to my apps to update.
I managed to install all available system updates (had to disconnect and reconnect the WiFi several times in the process) but that only managed to make the problem worse.
I'm having trouble both on WiFi and with just the LTE. The status bar doesn't indicate a loss of signal but downloads will be interrupted and browsing is a hassle.
On the WiFi side of things I had no issues with my previous phone (I broke the screen so I can't test it now) and my wife's phone still works perfectly. Still I tried rebooting the router to no effect.
I've done every trouble shooting task I can think of and it's still acting up. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
I'm having random connection drops on the latest EU build. I tried reflashing the ROM, installing akhilnarang's vendor, changing kernels buy still no solution.
The phone will work well but suddenly lose mobile data (4G) connection for a few seconds and then come back. I noticed the VoLTE icon also disappears with it and then comes back but the network signal lines (on the status bar) show full signal the whole time.
Also, I'll suddenly drop a call sometimes and this is accompanied by the network signal lines disappearing (implying loss of network signal) and then coming back in a few seconds.
I have a very good signal from my carrier so that's not the problem. Also, the phone seems to work well for sometime (few hours) after a restart and then this "bug" comes back and I can't find any kind of solution to this.
This problem started to arise after I flashed the latest EU android Q build.
This bug is annoying and frustrating especially while playing online games.
Any kind of help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Many problems after Android 10 update
I have the same problem after updating my smartphone to Android 10, with no solution !
While i'm using data connection, i don't receive all the notifications in time.
I'm facing another weird problem which is the phone does a fast reboot after that it freezes for some seconds.
Same Ish
Same issue here, when streaming or downloading, my wi-fi or data connection will randomly drop and wont reconnect unles i reboot. Then will drop again once i start to download or stream. My other phones or laptop no issue.
Connections are good, as im writing this am streaming on my laptop but my poco refuses to connect to our wi-fi. Issue only popped up after the latest update
