What unit do I have 1297-9688 - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Could not find country/customization on Xperifirm for my Z5C.
1297 is not even a journalist unit or japan market one. Bought this off Amazon US.
Any ideas? Thank you
**Edit: perhaps Storefront/promoter unit, saw 1297 on some other models with that name attached**

Did you read this version on the box or customization version of the service menu? Mine has 1297-9688 on the box, but came with HK 1298-7299 firmware. I used flashtool to change to the Nordic Combined firmware 1298-7782.

At the moment I have a german X10 with Baseband 1.0.14.
Can I upgrade to 1.0.16 without any problems?
Yes, when you have an branded Version, u must use the instructions to debrand it. But u can upgrade without any Problems. When Your phone is unbranded use the Sony Ericsson Update service, it will find the update. Save your old frimware when u decide to debrand it, so u can brand it back for warranty reasons.
Sounds great.
You have to know, that this is my first Android device. Before, I jsut used webOS and WinMo.
What tools do I need do 1. drebrand, 2. save the old firmware and 3. put the new firmware on the device?
I'm using a Mac, but can use Windows if needed.

This might be a stupid question but I'm running R1FA016 (was originally running R1FA014, Vodafone UK but flashed the phone) however when I go into the service menu it states that it's customized. I was under the impression that R1FA016 is unbranded.
To get into the service menu press menu, back, back, menu, back, menu, menu, back when the phone is locked.
I'm getting my info from the first option 'Model Info'.
Any ideas or am I being stupid?
I have R1FA016 version x10, bought it from o2 in uk, its not sim locked and it doesnt apear to be branded either, but it says customized too

[Q] unable to update to 2.1 (download?)

Ok so I tried updating my australian (3) X10minipro to uk generic. Sony companion tells me it was upto date.
Not a problem I thought, well I must have the uk firmware...
So I went ahead and edited build.prop again to install 2.1. Same problem? Sony companion tells me the phone is upto date.
Thats ok I went and tried to force repair of phone but now im told:
"unable to download your phone software. please check your internet or try again later."
Screenshot:
http://www.box.net/shared/cpvz526x06
Any help appreciated. Have I done something wrong. I am using the build.prop out of a thread in this forum.
Thanks
Hmm now I'm trying to edit my build.prop to the uk one again. So I can try force restore on that then try the 2.1 firmware again.
rm build.prop
rm failed for build.prop, Read-only file system
Any idea on this too? It's all so frustrating no-one else seems to be having any problems.
The update is not yet available anywhere else than the nordic countries... It will be more widely available in the next weeks... Changing to UK f/w won't help...
That is correct. I am trying to update my australian x10 mini to nordic firmware. This is entirely possible.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824766
Are you a sony ericsson representative?
ok. Got the uk prop file on the phone. i used root explorer to mount the filesystems read write. same original error now.
pc companion download error.
im lost now... what am i doing wrong
I can only tell you that changing to UK prop won't help because 2.1 has (to the best of my knowledge) not been released in the UK yet.
But dont I need uk generic before doing an update to nordic 2.1?
That's true... I'm awaiting as well. I have the UK generic ROM... I thought will be the first one, but most of us were wrong...

You need a nordic generic to update to nordic 2.1.
UK is not a nordic country (serious apologies if that comes across as patronising)

How do you know if you have the UK Generic rom?
I got my mini pro on o2 last week but there is no o2 branding at all on it.
Get into secret menu (on locked screen push: home, back, back, home, back, home, home, back) and then in Software Info if you have the customization version: 137-392_R8A, if not, yours isn't unbranded, it's a custom o2 rom.

I got phone software version:
1235-3411_1.1.A.1.174
GENERIC - user
then at customization version i have.

Take it thats o2 then?
Ive tried to debrand but it keeps saying my software is up to date.

[Q] New Firmware? P7500BUKI1 (that's BUKi1)?

I got a 10.1 3G version today in the UK and the first thing I did was a KIES update.
The firmware that's now installed is P7500BUKI1 (Bravo Uniform Kilo India One).
I've done a google and can only find one reference to this firmware, is it brand new?
I've also done a google search and a search here for how to dump a firmware and can't seem to find a useful howto, could someone point me at one possibly?
Thanks
Would be great if you could find a way to get the firmware uploaded - been trying to get the tab back to a stock UK firmware for a while now!
Does Kies not store the downloaded firmware?
I found out how to do a CWM backup so have done one and now have a fullset of .img files.
If someone can point me at a howto to extract them I can try to put together a recovery zip for you.
ok cheers. I tried to do a quick search to see if I could help, but I can't!
Is yours a carrier version? Is the CSC XEU or did you buy a Tab in the UK that's from another country? Mine's an October build and this is what shows in Kies:
PDA:KHD / PHONE:KG1 / CSC:KH3 (XEU)
There aren't any updates available which is unusual if they've already started shipping units with a newer build. Is the new ROM 3.1 or 3.2?

KI1 is a September build, it is Android 3.1. I have been running Italian (ITV) KI1 firmware for some time already and it is really smooth.
If you can give us more information then we probably can find this firmware on Samsung servers.
Please post the contents of following files (you don't need root to access these files, you just need a file explorer):
system\CSCVersion.txt
system\csc\customer.xml Only one line: <SalesCode>???</SalesCode>

KH3 XEU was just released three weeks ago on the delayed 32GB and 64GB P7500's that were all built in October. What OP received is probably that update (along with carrier customizations) that's being pushed out to Vodafone Tabs. This is especially true if it's 3.1. I'd guess the next general XEU update will be to 3.2.

Xperia Sola stock firmware for Baltics.

Hi
Anyone know where to find stock firmware for Xperia sola for Baltic region (Latvia)? Doesn't matter 2.3 or 4.0 Android.
The thing is week after going back to stock firmware (don't know what region, definitely not Baltic) from some custom roms my microphone stopped working. Phone now is not rooted and bootloader was never unlocked, so there shouldn't be any problems with warranty if I can find anywhere stock firmware for Baltic region, but unfortunately so far - no luck.

Realme 6 - Global Version Firmware Update

Hey everyone. I'm a proud new owner of a Realme 6. I bought it as being a global version (model RMX2001) 4/128GB.
I updated but found out that the firmware version was RMX2001_11.B.33. I think it must be a Russian Version even though I bought it through a spanish online retailer, since the box comes in russian.
I checked and there was a version for the Indian Region (RMX2001_11.B.37)with the same changelog as the one for the European Region (RMX2001_11.B.34). I downloaded the firmware for the European Region (RMX2001_11.B.34) and updated through the recovery mode.
Can someone explain to me what are the consequences of doing such a thing since I updated a RMX2001 model with a RMX2001EU model? Also, does this mean that from now on I'll get the OTA updates for the RMX2001EU model, European Region or only the ones for the RMX2001 model, whatever region I got?
Any other input regarding this subject is deeply appreciated. I'm curious more than anything. Thanks!
my phone is also a eu model, and didnt get the latest update to.
what i did is realme.com india region/market and find the o.zip RMX2001_11.B.37 and installed
everything working just fine for me. so i think all those phones are just the same..

I got my phone from amazon spain. I live in switzerland.
The latest OTA was B.30 for me. I downloaded B.37 from Realme Site and also updated via recovery.
Everything works however.
The hardware is definitely the same in all phones. But somethings still different. Some phones are able to unlock bootloader (india models I think) while EU models cant.

I definitely updated my Global Version with the EU Firmware. And in the settings I have the RMX2001_11.B.34 Version (which is actually the same as the RMX2001_11.B.37 according to the changelog, but not the size). I prefer the EU version since it may have less bloatware and ads due to the European restrictions. Also, I live in Portugal so I think it's better to use the EU version, unless a more recent version is available.

That's the strange part. It seems all roms are interchangeable, but then, what are the differences? Actually, how can one know what is their region? I say mine must be from Russia due to the text in the box and it also had a russian app installed. I updated with the EU rom and the model still is RMX2001 (not RMX2001EU), but the version is RMX2001_11.B.34. So I used a RMX2001EU_11.B.34 rom and it updated to the RMX2001_11.B.34 (missing the EU part). Furthermore, all package names and MD5 checksum are the same, when compared. Therefore, I actually think it is all the same and one can use any rom to update.

I didnt even realize that I downloaded the "non EU" rom from the india site. I honestly dont know if I had an EU rom when I first booted up my phone. I dont remember seeing EU in the OTA settings. However the latest OTA for me was the b.30, which is why I updated to b.37 manually because i thought higher number = latest update
Yeah its very weird. I only know that there is a global and an india version of the phone. We definitely have the global one or else we would have trouble with the 4g signal (or at least me here in switzerland)
EDIT: I think im a little confused now. I think you mean you had the RMX2001EU_11.A.34 (with the A)
There is A and B. Probably A for global and B for india
on 4pda forum some members mention that RU firmware supports "call recording", in all other roms(incl. EU) thats restricted due legal laws

You're right. I updated with the RMX2001EU_11.A.34 firmware version. Actually, I must have updated to the RMX2001_11.B.33 via OTA and then by updating with the RMX2001EU_11.B.34, I ended up with the build number RMX2001_11.A.34. At least that's what shows up.
I honestly think we can use whichever we want that any will work. I'll stick to the EU versions.

Hi. I want to buy a realme 6 in Spain but I need to record calls. The EU version does not allow to record calls, but the Indian Rom does include call recording. I have read that you installed the Indian version, can you see if you have the option to record calls?
To change rom is just install? There is no need to open bootloader, right? Can the Indian Rom be used in any country? I want to use in Spain
Thank you very much.

But I think it is only necessary to change the EU rom to a RU or Indian Rom. Do I need to unlock bootloader just to switch to a Rom from another country? It's strange...
