I need some help with the Flashtool. Did I build the .ftf right if I choose everything but the .ta files (following this guide)? Also, which things should I wipe when selecting firmware? There's APPS_LOG, DIAG, SSD and USERDATA.
Does this seem like a good output when starting?

My device I think is in MTP mode currently, does it affect the flashing?
I'd really appreciate the help, I'm very beginner in flashing roms and don't want to brick my phone.
Few minutes ago I have the same problem. Finally I select only APPSLOG and USERDATA and it clean phone from carrier bloatware and apps that I've installed. Now it's like simfree from open market, not any carrier.
USB debugging off and in mtp mode but what was problematic for me because I couldn't find anywhere how long I should keep VOL down press. So when I start flashtool and try to connect with z5c and start pressing VOL down I keep it press all the time, when appear info about restart device still keeping it pressed till second connection starts and the green line in bottom shows, then I release button and it passed.

Thanks for the reply! The only thing I'm really wondering now is that what those two sections mean, DIAG and SSD. Is it needed/okay to wipe them?
I'm still waiting for answer what they means but I didn't tick them. As I sad I only tick APPSLOG and USERDATA nothing more and now I have clean soft.

Ahh.. Of course, I'll try flashing today and see how it goes. I'll be reporting back.
E: Flashing went just fine. Didn't wipe anything, had USB-debugging and MTP on. Didn't bundle the .ta files when making the .ftf, but I don't think that really even matters.
Thanks for all the help!

Gretings, my rooted phone keeps restarting for ever. Likely after I installed busybox and made some changes with Root Toolbox Pro.
Can't even turn off. Is there a chance how to turn it off and repair the phone to bootable state?
Which phone? If you cannot pull battery, press and hold power + vol up button for about 10 seconds, ( wait for 3 vibration), this will turn phone off, then use flashtool to flash stock ftf.

Thank you, holding power+up finally turned off the phone.
Now what are chances to repair the phone booting without losing applications and settings, if any...
The exact firmware version is 6.1.1.B.1.54 on LT22i.
Is this the proper firmware to use for this?

TY. It shows the Sony Logo, then Xperia logo for few seconds and restarts.
Now I'd appreciate the workflow to restore my phone with least harm to installed system.
Is flashing stock ftf resetting to factory defaults?

Is that possible before flash copy all my phone's memory with flashtool to my HDD so that I could selectively restore data for safe apps?
The recovery went fine.
Flashed Sony Xperia P LT22i_ 6.1.1.B.1.54_Sony.ftf no reset data succesfully, phone is bootable now with all settings but unrooted
I open flashtool, flashmode, use Xperia P LT22_6.1.B.0.599_Kernel.ftf, reboot phone and the screen is dark, can't do anything with it.
Returned back to Xperia P LT22_6.1.1.B.1.54_Kernel.ftf and tried with flashtool>Unlock>Superuser or SuperSU but still no root.

Thanks. I already did a factory reset and rooted successfully. For the next time I go into such trubl, can I get a recommendation about a powerfull app that backups all my apps and SETTINGS (except firmware) from phone internal filesystem to PC's HDD (not SD card because I'm out of space), either via network or via USB connection. I've heard about Titanium Backup which probably is able to backup all I need but I'm afraid it's not able store my backups to PC.
Bootloop on Xperia u
I use an Xperia u( rooted, locked bl) with cwm touch recovery.I installed the AOKP ICS rom for locked bl on my device. Ever since then, whenever I flash a file via cwm, even if I wipe cache and dalvik cache, phone goes into bootloop and I have to unplug and replug battery to get it to work. Please help
Hey guys,
first of all i need to state that i am an asshole. i used to flash kernels and stuff when i had LG optimus one, and i just assumed that flashing xperia p is almost the same. oh, i didn't know about bootloader. so, everything mentioned is totally my fault and i can't blame anyone but myself.
the situation is as follows: i install root, cwm, and then i flash sliding_xp kernel and MoonBreaker ROM just like manual says.
then, of course, my phone won't start - only vibration and nothing more.
OK, i google, and i find out that i need to flash stock kernel to save the phone.
OK, i install flashtool, and:

06/057/2013 23:57:35 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
06/057/2013 23:57:37 - INFO - Device disconnected
so i, like, have only two second to flash. i tried to do it and failed.
my PC runs win8 x64 and has no USB 2.0 ports, only 3.0.
i can't charge as well as it also disconnects after a couple of seconds. battery before flashing was about 60%.
any suggestions what can i do? i tend to try another PC, but i don't have any now.
@sciezka
Have you flashed with your PC before?
Jave you installed drivers from flashtool (specifically the 2 at the bottom of the list, fastboot & flasj mode)?
Try installing them following the steps in this post.if it doesn't work see the first post in that thread.

actually i failed even to do repairs with PC Companion with similiar symptomes (green/purple light goes off after a couple of seconds), but i did this with another PC. that's why i tend to do it again.
btw, but DooMLoRD easy rooting toolkit worked fine on my PC, but i guess it uses different drivers.
i also tried to do steps from that post you mentioned, but x64 restricted this modification. all i get is error message.

The rooting toolkit use adb device.
What you got error for the command lines or driver installation?
You need to run command line as administrator.

Don't even bother to flash untill you install the drivers and make sure flashmode stay on for ~45 seconds.
Did you install the drivers again in non safe boot ?
Is there a disable driver signing option in windows 8 boot menu? you can try that as well.

I meant force shut down, hold power + volume up for about 10-15 seconds untill you feel 3 vibrations, then try flash mode and fastboot mode.
Don't flash anything just leave flashtool open to see if they are on for more than few seconds.

actually while your advice was great, it appears that the other thing i did made the difference since after i reverted it i couldn't connect anymore.
my laptop has only usb 3.0 ports, but you can fix the way they work (i'm not a specialist, but i say what i understood).
in BIOS you cand find USB settings. there you need to switch off xhci and switch on ehci. that allows to connect like i need. maybe this could be helpful for someone else.
Hello all ...
i've had my XZU for approximately 2 months, left the phone on the table picked it to check it, and then the phone blacked out, i've reset it using power button/volume up, that didnt work out then i did the reset using the red button right next to the sim card that made it work but am receiving a black screen with the following massage "InitialBootSetup" isnt responding do you want to close it? "wait" and "ok" no matter which one i choose ... nothing happens still black screen, everything is still running in the background as i can still recieve whatsapp massages but i cant view them since the swipe top to bottom doesnt work, went to the sony world in my country (i bought my unit from another country) they told me its a defected unit
if its a defected unit, i dont mind sending it back to the original country to replace it, but i cant back it up! all of my data are on it and i cant access my device using the PC Companion nor the service update center,

Will the phone go into either flash mode or fastboot mode?
you will need to install flashtool and read this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428319
1/ Try fastboot mode and use flashtool to hot boot a recovery kernel https://mega.co.nz/#!chQG0YTa!MR8D3A2FLM4KvOtXzqxHTHZrmUwSHBULDrJux8TpGEw)
- I don't know if this image will work... @hamdogg ?
- I don't know if this will work with a locked bootloader or not... Is your bootloader unlocked? Once in the recovery do a nandroid backup, possibly to an external sd card.
If that has worked I would then try the next step:
2/ If you can get into flash mode I would flash .532 ftf from this thread and start over: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2453921 - THIS WILL WIPE DATA
3/ If you got a nandroid backup from the first step and got a ftf flashed then use one of the nandroid tools to pull your user data out of the backup
I hope that some one with more experience will come along and tell you if any of that will work. #1 shouldn't wipe any data I don't think, but use at your own risk etc...

probably won't automatically boot using Fastboot, but yes that kernel would work. For a recovery boot.
I think keep it simple is the best option.
Power off your device off. Hold volume up and then Plug you're phone into you're pc.
Go to the Sony website, download the device drivers. (Google)
Download and open ' flashtool ' on your pc. Wait while more drivers are automatically downloaded via windows update.
Did that detect you're device? If not then you may need to return it.
Then also download flashtool divers. (google)
Then flash an FTF.
Done...
Read the threads on here so you become aware on how to work the software. Remember we can't do it for you, you have to research it yourself, and read yourself.

what does the highlighted means?
well not hard bricked then
I didn't know if the hotboot would work or not, but was worth a try, another option is to do a backup of your data via ADB. Have a read of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420351. I don't know enough about ADB to say what commands to use, but you could do a full backup and a backup of just the user data (make sure to give them different names).
Once you have a backup of your data I would flash an FTF and start from fresh and restore one of the backups

Try these steps to get into flashmode so you can flash a FTF with flashtool:
Have flashtool setup and running with a c6833 FTF loaded and waiting for device
Connect ZU to PC
Hold the volume down key
While doing the above press the red reset button under in the SIM card flap
That should kick it into flash mode

Hi all.
Following problem: TWRP crashed while installing latest Oreo 8.1 (aicp_scorpion_windy_o-13.1-UNOFFICIAL-20180623)
Symptoms now:
- no system
- no recovery available
- stops in Sony boot screen
- only flash mode available
If I try to flash a tft file, flashtool response is "The bundle does not match the connected device"
Any ideas? Or have I a total brick?

Addition: if I plugin the charger, I see the AICP charging logo... battery charging seems to work.
Problem solved. After 50+ attempts I got fastboot mode at the phone and flashed it again. Seems to be a timing problem while pressing the tablet keys....

please detail all the steps you used as i am also attempting similar.
I still tried the startup key combination... it's probably a question of timing, pressing the volume button while starting the device.

I used this solution to get out of the very same situation on my SGP611. I had tried to flash ICP onto LineageOS and got into the same pickle you're facing, but flashing a stock rom combined with the reset button helped.
To turn off your tablet which is keep restarting, press and hold POWER and VOLUME UP until the tablet vibrates 3 times and turns off.
On your PC open Sony Xperia Companion, click Software repair, check My device cannot be detected or started, Next, chose Xperia phone or tablet, Next, check I know my Google credentials, wait until instruction are displayed how to connect to your PC.
Make sure your tablet is turned off, press and VOLUME DOWN while connecting the USB cable to PC, when the program starts the next step you can release the VOLUME DOWN.
Now wait and do not disconnect the tablet from PC.
