Carrier name display issue?? - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Some of the Canadian carriers are not displayed with their names such as Koodo and telus. They're displayed as their carrier code numbers which isn't nice at all (ex. 33245 LTE)
Has this been fixed yet? This seems to be an issue with oxygen OS
Sent from my Leap using Tapatalk

No one??

I have a similar issue. I'm on o2 Germany and instead of
"o2 - de"
it shows
"O2 (Germany) GmbH & Co. OHG 3G"
(the F is this?!)
Not very nice, which is why I created my own Xposed module to hide it.
Several users reported the same issue on the official OnePlus forums, so I guess this is a ROM issue.

Me too. When i go overseas, i see all funny carrier names. I believe its rom issue. I hide mine using firefly1337 module

me either
in cm13 it's called "TELKOMSEL"
in iPhone it's called "T-SEL"
in OOS 2.2.1 it's called "Pt. Telekomunikasi Seluler"

Looks like after I updated from 2.1.2 to 2.2.1, the carrier label is now showing Telus Mobility 4G when it use to use say 32245 LTE or whatever number it was.

How to change csc and rom?

Hi. Im fixing my friends tab. He just got it back from repair from the neuron ring on the screen. It was bought from samsung asia however it contains european software. but the csc is from my country, the philippines (asia). I'm thinking of flashing an Asian rom. How do I change the csc to fit my country and are the roms in samfirmware complete ones?
+1 Also need instructions please.
+2 Also need instructions please.
+3 Also, I'd like a neck massage and a sandwich.
Shouldnt be an issue, I'm in the Philippines using a european firmware and using a Globe 3G enabled sim on it, and it works fine like a boss, I get messages and I can use the internet on it via 3G, I don't get how CSC settings makes a difference, Not like we originally have tagalog or bahasa language settings. Also by default the 3G sim comes embedded with the APN settings required, you can either edit it to your whim or choice.
Besides most US based phones work in Philippines because we follow the same freq as US. The same goes with our internet lines bridged off US. Which is why we have an avg of 180-210 ping on US based servers.

[Q] CM9 Rom displaying No service since switch to EE (formally t-mobile UK)

I have been running the CM9 rom on my Galaxy S3 fine until I recieved an SMS from Tmobile stating that my signal has been switched to EE.
However now my Carrier is displaying 'No Service'
My phone still works correctly so appears to just not reconise EE as the carrier.
Has anybody else had this? and does anybody know if there is a fix for this.
I want it to properly display when have signal not just a custom carrier name. Is there a way to update the carrier list?

I'm on Orange, using XXDLIB. I had a SIM update text, deleted and rebooted, and lost my signal too!
I left it about an hour, rang Orange, and during the 28 minutes of queing I rebooted and got another text, rebooted again and it was working, with "[email protected]@@@@@@@@@" showing as the carrier in the pulldown thingy. Not sure what the @'s are about!
So my solution... patience!

Contact your network the phone cannot know that the name has changed .
Unless you have a brand new Sim or an update as per the other post.

Thanks guys, I should have mentioned after flashing back to stock 4.1.1 EE displays correctly, seems to be a problem with CM9 Rom only.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Sorry mate, don't use CM.. I prefer the sammy ROMs.
A wild guess - maybe the T-Mobile CSC isn't in the ROM? Don't know if that would affect actually connecting to the network though.
Might be worth posting in the CM9 thread.
Help us sort this please!?

Same problem here yet Im on CM10 Dark Paranoid Android. Does same on any other CM10 ROM that I've tried too (Slim bean, CM10 Milestone 1 etc). Doesn't affect usage, just looks unpretty because now displays "NO SERVICE". Now and again says T-Mobile, but never lasts long. Have tried the option of editing a file - I think was callled spn, and also have tried Carrier Name Changer from google market with no avail.
Any help would be much appreciated

[Q] MVNO real operator name

Hello everyone,
I've recently switched from Samsung Galaxy Note and can't understand one thing. I'm currently using MVNO that allows to choose any of two local MNOs (at the same price). On Samsung device I was able to see the network names in search network dialog & everywhere in my system. On Sony in the network list I see only my MVNO name (written in different ways - PrimeTel & PTL) instead of real operators names (CYTA & MTN).
Is it possible to change this behaviour or at least somehow find out what is current network used?
Thanks.

[Q] Incorrect mobile network string

I am using Virgin Media here in the UK for my Galaxy S III (GT-I9300) mobile services. I have rooted* the phone and use Cyanogenmod 11 (currently use the nightly build 20140623). I have been using this ROM since probably the 5th/June which is when I obtained the phone.
My problem is that the network association identifies as T-Mobile. I have no idea why. And even though I use the Virgin Mobile APN settings (which I had to manually add using information available on Virgin Media's website) the network string may sometimes show up as Orange when I am using 3G data services. I do not allow data roaming on the phone and I am able to use my phone as you would expect, i.e. able to make calls, receive them and don't have any issues (or at least have not experienced any so far).
Can you help identify how I may "fix" this?
FYI: I have tried searching both the forum and using Google with the "XDA" suffix to locate similar posts. The one I have found is not the same problem so not useful to me (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/how-to-change-default-mobile-network-t2315737).
*Apologies if my terminology is incorrect. "Rooted", "flashing" and "using a custom ROM" are all the same to me. I can however confirm that I am using said CM11 nightly build, CWM Recovery v6.0.4.6, and didn't exactly find the whole "rooting" thing a straightforward experience.
44 views and nobody has any feedback. Am I doing something wrong here?...
Thanks.
I dont know much about Virgin´s mobile service but Orange and T-Mobile are the same company now (EE) so perhaps Virgin have a partnership deal with EE and you are able to use thier network. Either way, you are not roaming when you are in the UK.
Your rom is missing the correct network settings and tables, ask the rom chef or try another rom.
@boomboomer care to elaborate?
Flash a stock firmware and your problems will disappear. Ask your rom chef to add the right network settings or try another rom that has them.
In what file are these network setting written?

[Need Testers and Help] VoLTE / VoWifi carrier profiles for FX2Pro

The phone is relatively new and since it's not mainstream most carriers don't support it yet. Some people say they have VoLTE enabled and it works but I personally switched to Singapore EX and it seems VoLTE isn't detected at all so I started digging and it seems this issue is present in most Chinese phones. (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-activate-volte-and-vowifi-simple-and-clear.4116051/) In this thread they used the Qualcomm tool and exploit the bug in EngineerMode on OnePlus phones which we don't have an access to and since we can't root or unlock the bootloader we can't modify build.prop or change any system files.
-----Maybe it's my carrier, maybe it's the Singapore ROM so please if VoLTE and VoWifi works for you could you post here which country you're on, which ROM version and if you changed region before or not.------
First a warning: If you aren't tech-savvy, experiencing issues or want to potentially turn your phone in a paper weight do NOT try this at the moment. We do not have the tool to restore your phone back (wiping data might work but idk). You can send your phone to Oppo for repair but you might have to wait for a month or two.
I don't know if you need to unlock your phone from the other thread to have access to this mode(I did have it all decrypted during this test) but in addition to the *#808# engineer mode and *#*#4636#*#*(Where you can check if you have VoLTE enabled) I found we have access to *#36446337#.
In *#36446337# I managed to enter "Protocol test switch" -> "MBN TEST" and switch my profile from Common-Commercial(I think it was this one) to Commercial-DT-VOLTE. The phone rebooted and everything is fine but "MBN Validate" is giving me an error when I run it and I can't test if it works because I'm currently out of the country and my temporary SIM provider doesn't support VoLTE.
It's probably nothing and the error is because of the lack of developer files on the ROM but I need people who can test if these profiles act like the flashing from the Qualcomm tool in the thread mentioned above.
So once again if you don't have VoLTE enabled and are feeling a bit courageous - give it a try.
I think the problem maybe for those that changed to Pakistan build on Android 10 and then switched to Singapore ex to get ColorOS 11 and dual SIM meant that things like VoLTE do not work on those builds.
I did it a different way as wasn't bothered about dual SIM. I was on A.46 UK , waited for EU to get ColorOS11 , then switched to EUEX on sec5 and downloaded ColorOS11 c.57 through Belgium VPN.
VoLTE is working for me. it's not present in SIM settings( WiFi calling is) however when I look at my call log there is a VoLTE HD icon next to all my calls, so is working.
Since being on ColorOS11, I have tried several different regions on SEC tool, EUEX dual SIM, Singapore EX, back to GB CPW to check still works and now back to EUEX. Build number always changes to different region in about phone when I have made any changes and check however VoLTE has always remained working for me and is showing as provisioned in engineer mode.
I am from Germany and have a phone with Vodafone FW originally. I switched region to Singapore EX, than installed the Pakistan FW and got C.5 and C.6 via OTA. I switched the region to EUEX (DUAL SIM) and didn't receive the update to C.57, so I switched back to Singapore EX and got the update to C.57 when using VPN Hongkong, which was quite funny.
VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling is working fine with Vodafone, but you can't toggle it in the hidden service menu, it's just active! You can activate or deactivate Wi-Fi calling in the regular settings, but VoLTE is just there, you can't deactivate it.
Both Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE are shown in the bar on the top. With the former Vodafone FW, VoLTE was not shown with an icon, but it was nevertheless working.
Hy here T-Mobile shown volte and Vodafone don't shows but on the status bar there is the volte symbol

I am in the same boat as you. I rebranded to Singapore to get ColorOS 11 update, to use 2 SIM and Call Recording, along with Theme Store, etc.
While on my previous phone (Xiaomi Mi9) I had VoLTE and VoWiFi and my carrier supports them and my SIM has that activated by my carrier, on Oppo Find X2 Pro it seems for them to work is needed special Modem Profile for the concrete carrier you use.
My Carrier is not listed at MBN Test Menu, I tried all the profiles available there, all Commercial ones and all Volte Branded ones and they are not giving me VoLTE and VoWiFi options available in Menu or VoLTE or VoWiFi functionality.
This method used to work on Xioami and Commercial EU Carriers profiles gave me the VoLTE and VoWiFi functionality with just Activity Shortcut access to this menu on Mi9 and simple dialer code to activate VoLTE and VoWiFi switch in Settings.
Oppo Find X2 Pro is not sold officially in my country and by all carriers here and that is why there is no Carrier Volte Profile for carriers from my country and thus it is not possible to activate VoLTE and VoWiFi with other Carrier Profile from MBN Test Menu.
Maybe if we find a way with a Dialer Code or some menu to activate the VoLTE and VoWiFi switch in Settings first this profiles from MBN Test menu will work...
I am out of ideas for now.

I'm pretty sure they force disable most of this stuff with region profiles (/etc/oppoRegion* folders)
At this point I honestly care more about GDPR protection,VoLTE and removing tencent/heytap crap than call recording and theme store which I don't use anyway.
So my plan atm is to wait for Oppo to release android 11 .57 .ozips so that I can flash back to european firmware then I'll see if changing region to EUEX Dual-SIM works and it's limitations.
This method might help people on EU roms with VoLTE, and I'll test it myself in the future, but at least for now *#36446337# lets us adjust MTU, 4G bands and some other smaller network optimizations.
Okay I don't know where to post this but I found *#649010# and this is where it gets into the spooky territory. I never tried toggling any of the options but I think "Full-port switch" option lets us connect our phone to the qualcomm diagnose tool just like the OnePlus phones from the Carrier profiles thread. I'm just documenting this code here so we know we have an alternative to the OnePlus LogKit.apk option in our Oppo phones.

Interesting to find out what these options do.
For some reason, non of these codes work for me now after doing the region change a couple of times.

We keep telling people - you gotta unlock every time you change region and even then the unlock lasts a fixed amount of time ex. 24 hours before it locks itself again

Unfortunately, the tool no longer works for me to unlock, the codes don't work. I'm stuck.

Works for me no issue. Try adding cloudflare dns to your setup, tether your phones connection to your pc while disabling your main connection and adding the number values from the original thread, fiddle with the loopback driver, disable firewall in windows or your router. Everyones connection and setup is different you just gotta find a way to make it work on yours.
Tl;dr it works you just got to tinker with it

Did you have the call recording option right after you switched region? I changed to Singapore Ex right after I got the phone, didn't see that option. Then I upgraded to ColorOS11, still did not find that option.
