Did anyone try layers on stock o2os?
And if, does it work fine?
Yes, Oxygen OS does support layers. I just found this out as well. There are a few themes that need to update/fix, like the 3 dot menu area in the dailer. Other than that everything works well.

In which version of OxygenOS did you try layers?
Just yesterday I installed Layers manager, installed a Layers theme from play store, applied it, rebooted and stuck in bootloop..
I'm in lastest OOS 2.1.3-X with blu_spark kernel..

No, Kernel will not automatically install apps like busybox. I would start with the busybox installation and then trouble shoot from there.
How did you get past the bootloop of you don't mind me asking?? If you restored a backup, then good for you.

Yes. If you all the other necessary items installed (SuperSU, kernel of you're liking) then all you "should" need is busybox.

Could we have some kind of a list of working Layers?
At least the ones you have tried.
The ones I've tried are not complete. There some aspects of the theme that's not showing up.
Timberwolf
Skyblue
Inversion
Art
Vivid colors
Currently using Art theme by SPAstef
Thanks a lot.

There's a much easier way you guys can recover from bootloop due to a bad layer. Just boot into recovery, then select twrp file manager, and delete the bad layer from system>vendor>overlay folder. If you have many layers and are not sure which one of them is bad, just delete the whole folder, that will just delete all the applied layers.
I tried many of the free layers available on play store. Almost all of them were working on my device, except Art, iirc. Which was disappointing since I read on the OP forums it was working fine for most people
However, most of the layers did actually miss a few settings icons from getting themed.
Another interesting thing I noticed - dark colored themes work best if you set dark mode on in OOS, and bright themes with dark mode off. I had fewer bootloops that way, don't really know exactly why it happens.
Anyhoo, here's some of the themes that I liked and are working perfectly fine on my device:
-Navigate
-Pastelz Light
-Simpl
-Zed
I'm currently rocking Zed, looks great :good:
Can some one post ss?
OPX 2.1.3-X
With prodigy theme by samulomba96
Icons is Glim Dark by Maximilian keppeler
One more: Dailer
i've tested a lot of layer theme. one common issue, if you install the framework overlay you will get bootloop when you reboot your phone. another bug, if you press the power button lil bit longer, it will soft reboot instead showing the advance reboot option. you can try install any theme but leave the framework first. try to contact the dev, or provide them with framework-res.apk so they can update the framework for oneplus x. hope this help you guys

Hello and welcome to my Thread,
I want to share with you the daily driver for my brothr. I'm not a Brain my some other gus here .
Stock+ (HyperStock) is only a factory image based Rom. I cook it with SuperR's Kitchen and I only debloated it, add bootanimation and "steal" ah I mean add some Mods. Even the bootanimation is ripped.
WHY MAGISK?
Becouse my Brother like to play Pokemon GO and Magisk is the easiest way to hide root for some Apps like Pokemon or Snapchat.

if you want to change the dpi you need to flash the Zip from [email protected] ZIP. OxygenOS have some issues with changing the DPI.

Yeah... this is a crazy weird issue since every build of Oxygen has been able to correctly allow changing of the DPI without any issue. I was discussing this in another thread somewhere far, far away since I don't recall where. But I think it has something to do with a specific frameware file or something to do with the frameware.. it's damn strange that all of a sudden we can't adjust the DPI. I do know a quick-fix-hack is to use an Xposed module that will allow you to change the DPI of specific apps but it still disfigures the whole system if you do it systemwide..

I have installed Nitrogen OS 7.1.2 and i have flashed Franco Kernel from recovery, the problem is that when i open the FKUpdated app it say Uh oh! Your device is not supported by franco.Kernel.
How can i fix that and what is causing that?
After the flash via TWRP i lost root access
Thanks
Only Lineage OS is supported. Flash it manually. Also Franco kernel settings won't be applied on Nitrogen as Nitrogen f***s up with everything. You need to unroot and flash SuperSU for root.

Have you tried Umangs LineageOS? https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/unofficial-lineageos-substratum-radon-t3592853 Its very smooth, good battery life (for me at least) and have had no issues with substratum. If it's a different rom then yes. You will need a clean install. But remember you don't have to wipe internal storage. The more you flash roms the quicker your restoring will get. But I do feel you. It's quite tedious
yeah it's kinda something i hate to do: thanks :highfive:
Take backup of the app's with titanium backup. Don't erase the internal memory, as it doesn't matter.
Ohh poor u guys, just because the cpu gov of some custom kernels doesn't implemented on rom, you blaming nos that much. I feel sorry for your stupidity, and recklessness.
Anyway, all you guys need to learn how scripts or something works on rom. Since nos rom use init.qcom.post_boot.sh as script commands, so basically there is a command that will force the cpu configuration back to stock at booting if the governor selected was interactive, also there are others configuration to that will be necessary at booting. In short, I just edited that script so nos will support custom kernel, tested using every custom kernel. Just make sure that u replace the file everytime you update rom.
Replace it in /system/etc and set permission to rwrr/0644. Oh, and remove .txt ext, I'm to lazy to make flashable zip.

Im on nitrogen os oreo with radon kernel and wondering why i get only 6-6.5 sot where i would get easily 8-10 hrs sot.
I just implementesd what you said copied the file without the txt extension with permissions as 0644.
You think it'll help increasing the battery backup as i would get easily more on other roms with this kernel, thanks in advanced anyway
Edit the max frequency for the big cluster is being limited to 1382mhz and not going to 1843 as on my kezo ill check the file

Just a note on kernels
I've tested many many kernels on many devices. When they are configured the same, performance/battery is about the same. Any difference was slight enough to be considered noise in the test methods. I always suggest to learn about kernel parameters then tweak it to the way you want. Any kernel will give more performance, or battery life, or anything between - all depends on how you configure it.
Ps - same device, same twrp, supersu instead of magisc, no problems. Except seems not compatible with ex kernel manager - it doesn't apply settings. I believe it doesn't set proper permissions to be able to write. But hey, it's young and a stockish kernel, hope to see more.

Here's a link to GeneticEngineer's AFH-hosted original kernel from the TWRP thread. I don't think he'll mind it being reposted in this thread. This should tide people over until you can iron out the bugs in your build.

Thanks for picking up the baton and running with it, incidentally. I did ask GeneticEngineer to create a thread for his kernel but perhaps he missed the message.

Thanks. I tried it and still wouldn't pass SafetyNet. The fingerprint gestures worked though. I am running it on a secondary ROM. Maybe that is causing the issue?

I've built a fully working stock kernel which has the needed commits for Magisk modules to work correctly and passes SafetyNet [emoji6]. Need to do some more updating (upstream) but I plan on posting it soon, probably new thread (Resurrected Kernel).

A stock based kernel isn't gonna play well with custom ROMs, unless your secondary ROM is a stock ROM? I plan on creating one for cm-14.1+ based ROMs too.

If you need someone to beta test it, let me know. It is the only reason I am not running stock.

What's working?
Everything seems to be working as on the official s9 los15 build; with minor exceptions (screen recording can sometimes be a lil buggy, nfc can be a lil hicky etc)
What's not working?
Obviously Samsung's own features such as Samsung Pay, KNOX, Theme Center, Game Launcher, etc. won't be ported to LineageOS Pixel Experience. We may have our own implementation to similar functions, though.
Iris sensor does not work because AOSP upstream does not support that yet.
IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS PixelExperience.

Disclaimer: This rom is not built by me. That has been done by @malinathani with some help from myself. After that he insisted that I make this thread :highfive:
Instructions:
Make sure TWRP has been installed and functional.
Download the latest build linked below
Reboot to recovery
Wipe data and cache (required if you switch from other ROMs). Even better if you have nothing to loose and wipe system, data, cache, storage etc
Flash the latest build (and gapps). DONT flash gapps. they are already included in the rom.
Reboot and enjoy :victory:

Troubleshooting/FAQ:
Q: Whaaaaaa??? You are developing for the note9 now?
A: Nah, not really. This isn't even built by me. I just helped the guy who did it so much he insisted I create the thread. I'm not promising any future development on my end but hey
Q: The rom isn't booting/camera doesn't work
A: Flash/make sure you have the ARH5 vendor and try again.
Q: The rom is in a bootloop/google apps keep crashing
A: You did read the instructions and NOT flash any gapps riighhttt?? smh, wipe /system,/data and /cache and start over
Q: I have another bug; How can i tell it to you while slightly increasing my changes of it ever getting fixed.
A: You can tell me what's going on either here or on telegram WITH A LOGCAT attached(required);if rom isn't booting at all attach /proc/last_kmsg.
Q: I don't know what/how to logcat. Is it really necessary?
A: Logcat or gtfo
Q: How can i support you?
A: Awwww thanks; On most of my posts on the left side there's a "donate to me" paypal button; You can use that, donations are more than welcome, or if you don't have any $ to spare you can also post here about how awesome i am (this surprisingly helps very much)

Does work as a stylus, you can check it out and let us know!
Thanks for this. Was waiting for an AOSP Based ROM before rooting. Will root and flash later and report back .
Test it out and let us know what you guys think! Feedback is appreciated
Good day,
1. Is there a link/attachment for an official ARH5/ARH6 vendor image that we can use with this ROM?
2. I wiped /system,/data and /cache flashed the ROM with and without an ARH6 image (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262904015418) within TWRP and got bootloop.
What am I missing?

Ummm, you can try flashing vendor from the Light Rom thread or try flashing noverity.zip after flashing the ROM.
There are a bunch of them. In treble forums
Surprised no one bothered to upload them here
All pie gsi roms work with note 9

I totally agree, but give this a shot once, it's noticeably smooth compared to the gsis out there (I've used many myself) it also has dual speakers working. As for pie gsis they have this animation lag while switching and opening apps. Give it a shot and I hope you'll like it.

Thank you. Great to have specific support just for Note9!
I've tried other GSIs from Treble forums and yes on those roms only mono audio output works and also had brightness issues last time I tried it. I will try this out

I flashed it and I gotta say, this is very good. I'll keep this as my daily driver if I don't run into any issues which I haven't so far
I really like that there's bixby button custom options included. Rom is super smooth. Definitely smoother than other GSIs on the treble forums. Dual speakers are working but volume seems lower than stock (can anyone confirm this?)
Regarding the vendor, I am using ARH6 vendor. Like I said, so far I haven't gotten any issues.
I think you should include in OP that root isn't included. I flashed Magisk zip and it works fine though

How well does it handle memory? I heard AOSP roms on GS9 doesn't keep apps in memory as well as stock.
Also for the low volume thing. Have you tried Dolby Atmos? It has always helped me in the past with my phones.
Okay so.. I'm having a weird issue. The rom was working perfectly fine and then it started to register every single tap as a long press. Every time I touch the screen, it registers a long press. If this issue can be fixed, everything else was working great. At first, I thought it was because I installed magisk modules but I just uninstalled magisk completely and the issue is still there. Logcat is attached.
@Fiso I'll try Dolby Atmos and keep an eye on memory as soon as the touchscreen issue goes away.

Hmmmm, that's weird, which module did you install btw? If you still have this issue you can try dirty flashing the ROM or clean installing it again. I tested the ROM myself for almost a week before releasing it. Also which model are you using?

The module was xposed installer for the latest SDK. Model is N960F. Dirty flashing did not help. So I did a clean flash and it's fine for now. I'll flash magisk and install modules other than xposed and try

I currently have xposed installed myself, I installed xposed framework module which automatically installs it for the correct SDK version.
Nice rom, but there is no mirrorlink :crying:

Yeah it isn't the module. I've done some more tests. The issue only happens if I install or restore multiple applications. Not sure why. Can you tell me what vendor you use?
Also, the keyboard seems sluggish. I don't mean the UI, like the touch responsivenes? If you type really fast, keyboard can't keep up (compared to stock)? Can you confirm this?

I would recommend you to reinstall apps only from playstore and not restore them because that is known to break stuff. I have no lag issues even on keyboard which you are saying. if you still have issues you can try with ARH5 vendor.
