Ive noticed that the nav buttons (triangle, circle square) on my device stops working from time to time. It only happens during charging, and mostly while using a 12v source such as in a car, train or bus, but also with the original charger in a 230v grounded outlet. Issue disappears by itself after a while or by reseating the charger. Am I the only one? Should I send it in for service?

I have got two car chargers, the first keeps the battery at the same level without it going down, but dies not charge it up, so i bought another one which charges my Bluetooth GPS as well, but this one does not charge the battery even though the charging light turns on, and it displays that its charging in the power applet, but the battery loses power and every so often the phone switches off, i can not find out why!
Does anyone have any ideas?
sounds to me like your battery is knackard........... is it ok with a mains adaptor?? 8)
It works perfectly with the charger on the cradle, the battery life is very good. does anyone know the exact wiring for power for the blueangel as both my adaptors are wired differently
I believe that there is an issue with charging performance in the Atrix car dock. I'm using the OEM Motorola ECOMOTO Rapid Rate vehicle power adapter (850 mAH) with dual USB ports. You can tell this USB charger is a good product just by the weight of the thing! A test charge in the Atrix car dock began at 7:45 AM and the phone's charge was 20%. At 9 AM 30% and 10:30 AM 40%. This is obviously nothing like the wall charger so it made me believe that the phone was powered by the charger while docked but only receiving a trickle charge. Connecting the phone directly to the USB car charger (without the car dock) using a stock USB to micro USB charging cable, at 8:00 AM the phone was at 20%, 8:20 AM 40%, 9:00 AM 70% and 10:00 AM 100%. What a contrast!! So it appears that there is an issue with charging performance while in the car dock. I've reported this to Motorola and hope that they can reproduce and address. How about the rest of you, what say you all?
Mine charges fine. I have the moto - 2usb port charger and it powers the phone in the dock just fine (mine is Y shaped and ships with the MotoBranded car dock, not AT&T).
Mine charges just like the wall charger - both put out 850mA. If I am running Nav in the car dock, and screen is on, it charges slower - but this is to be expected.

I find when driving around during the day with the screen always on, taking the occasional call and GPS/Navigation running most of the time (not sure, just love seeing my KM/H sitting up there helps keep my heavy right foot off the go pedal) that my battery slowly slinks up in % almost like it's not charging due to the load I have on it.
old thread but..
Hello
I know its old thread and no one is interested anymore but I found out that Atrix is giving power back to the vehicle when connected to the car dock.
I have a Cigar lighter slot hub with an LED indicator. The LED remains glowing when I turn off my car and leave Atrix in the Car Dock. I found out that ACC are having power until Atrix battery is empty.
Even if I unplug the HUB from the car, LED remains glowing, but battery drain seems not that high than connected to the car.
Once I remove the Atrix and put it back, LED is not glowing again, so I think it has something to do with the Car Dock and the Atrix software. (not sure)
I'm trying to make a work around with relay...
I've got a strange issue. When charging with my stock AC adapter, it charges about 40%/hr (according to Gsam). If I try a 2A charger I can get over 60%/hr. I have three car chargers, I notice each one charges at more like 5-10%/hr. When using Navigation with the screen off, I discharge at around 20%/hr. With the screen on, it jumps to 40-60%/hr.
All my car chargers came with the data pins shorted. When I plug in, it says "Charging (AC)". I don't think my car is the issue because my friend tried charging his Iphone with my charger and it didn't seem to work, but when he pulled out his, it charged much faster.
I remember that in the past, I was able to use the Nav while with my car charger and it would last all day on long road trips. With the charger in and running Nav, I might go up some small amount, like 1%/hr. Now, with the car charger in, I'm still losing and lucky if I get more than an hour or so.
The only conclusion I can think of is that recent versions of Nav or something with CM11 is drawing much more power. Although I've had this issue for at least the past year
The phone is 1.5 years old, everything was going smoothly till 3 months ago, when I decided to buy QI wireless charging pad and receiver. The charging pad is rated at 1.5A and the receiver coil is rated at 1A. For some reasons, the charging pins near the battery (where you are supposed to attach the qi receiver pins) don't respond to any charging voltage, whether from the qi receiver or normal wall charger.
So I extended a very thin wire from the receiver chip and connected a DIY micro usb pin to it's end. Now the receiver sends charge to the regular charging port, I know I could just buy similar "forward universal qi receiver" for this purpose, but that's the same apart from looks.
Anyways, last month the receiver coil got detached from the micro usb pin, so I stopped using wireless charging and started using the regular wall charger (stock samsung, rated 2A) again. I will buy that forward based universal qi receiver later on.
Since then, the wall charger gets quite hot and the metal part of the usb cable (which is inserted in the charger) gets TOO HOT. The phone's motherboard gets TOO HOT, I have removed the battery cover and inspected, the battery isn't the culprit, it gets a little warm as usual. Phone stops responding to touch and buttons. This happens especially when 2G or 3G data is on, but no apps are running in the background and no sync,downloading/uploading is going on. The phone lies in idle state with screen off and mobile data on.
The phone doesn't get this hot when:
1. I charge it via other phone/tablet chargers (belonging to parents), I have tried with 3 chargers, rated 1.5A, 1.2A and 1A. None of these 3 result in overheating EVEN IF I keep the screen on and use games, browser etc!
2. Charge it while switched off.
3. I had a charging cable of a cheap micromax phone lying around, it's not a data cable, simple charging cable. This cable doesn't result in overheating even with with the stock charger.
4. Once the battery level reaches around 70% (regardless of charger and cable), it doesn't get hot even with mobile data on, screen on and playing games etc.
FYI, The wireless charging setup didn't result in the phone getting this hot ever. As you all already know, the charging pads and receiver coil get quite hot but they also cool down quickly. Also the intensity of heat produced by receiver coil is not too high so as to heat up the whole phone. NOTE that I was using the charging pad with the stock samsung wall charger for that 1 month (maybe that ruined the stock charger somehow?).
Obviously if I start using the wireless charging setup again, this problem won't crop up. But I need to know whether there's any hardware damage/problem or not. To avoid this problem, I could buy another charger of lower amperage, like the moto e charger.
INFO: The phone is SM-N750 3G (Indian version) with no hardware changes. It's running on a custom rom "Unikat V5", alongside the custom recovery "Philz touch". I had installed this custom rom around 10 months back. Overheating problem started ONLY after trying out that wireless charging setup and removing it.
Hello to all! One fine day, the docking station from my transfomer stopped charging. The dock indicator on the tablet shows the charge, but in fact it is not. The tablet itself is charged from a docking station connected to an electric network. The indicator on the docking station blinks yellow, and does not light up continuously when charging. Do not tell me what can be done, or is this already the end?
And also, the docking station makes a rattling sound when charging is connected.
Sorry to bother; I found the reason that the battery was swollen. close the topic, please.
