Hello,
I'm having troubles with my bluetooth connection in my car. When I'm not using a 3rth party app (Bluetooth Phonebook), my car loses connection with my phone after a short time in call, and causes my MMI to crash. This happens also when ending a call. BUT: my messages are properly synced, when I receive a message, my car notifies me.
When I'm using the 3rth party app Bluetooth Phonebook, (which replaces some Bluetooth stacks), my connection seems more stable, but my messages don't sync anymore...
Anyone knows what's the cause.
+ would it help to flash CM13 to fix all these issues? (That i dont have to use Bluetooth Phonebook anymore + messages that are synced properly?
Flashed CM12.1 (By MasterAwesome), Version 11.s. All bluetooth problems are gone! Its a recommendation I would do for people who really need the car / bluetooth connection. Some minor bugs though, but no really showstoppers. .

I was wondering if anyone could help with this problem. My SGS II connects with my in built (Ford) car system, its does everything it should apart from that it can not display the call list (in or out). This was also the problem on my SGS on stock roms until I installed CM7 and then the call lists showed up perfectly. Is it the case that Samsung roms are putting the call logs in a different place that cannot be seen by the car system, if so would it be easy to change this or do I have to wait until a CM rom is made for the SGS II.
SGS II as well as SGS has a very gig problems with BT in car on stock ROM. I had SGS before and there was a problems BT constantly drops in AUDI car system. Temporarily it was solved by BT Fix from the market but finaly solved only coming to a custom ROM (all of them solving that). Now Having SGS II It is total disaster in AUDI - first it constantly drops BT connection and even more - if I'm talking by phone during being connecting to BT, connection failed BUT after call finished phone crushed down and it takes 10 second pushing power button to get it back :-( And then in phone all pairings went out! So - do anybody know this case? And waiting for the custom ROM.
I have a Mercedes E-class (new type). No problems at all with the BT. Very quick to connect, and I can control track fw/bw from the steering wheel. No drops. Works with the default music player as well as Spotify. Phonebook transfere is quick.
In terms of functions I also have no any problems but drops and crashes :-(
Ford focus audio bluetooth
Hello,
I have the same issue with the Ford Focus Bluetooth. It plays ans stops all the time. hands-free works great. Did you solve it?
Hello everybody.
the same issue with new Volvo S60. Previously car kit perfectly worked with Nokia E71... As for S2 - I was able to pair the phone and car. But afterwards, connection could be reestablished only if it's initiated from the phone side (I select "My Car" in bluetooth menu of the phone). Without such actions the car is unable to find the device...
Problem was solved for me when last modem was released. Use ROM with XKE2 modem.
Hi all,
Yesterday I have tested SGS2 (LiteROM 1.5) in my BMW E92 LCI and it works really fine so far.
(call, sms, phone adressbook and bluetooth audio streaming).
BMW offers the possibility to connect two phones at the same time.
I successfully connected my nokia business phone for bluetooth call & SGS2 for bluetooth audio streaming only.
SGS2 is the first mobile that I have connected to my car not only displaying title/artist information properly using the default music player,
but also offers good mp3 sound quality over A2DP.
Strange enough, when I use a different music player (e.g. PowerAMP) the title/artist information is not working any longer. Any ideas?
Cheers, Spad
Problem with transmission over car bluetooth
Hi there,
I have a galaxy s2 that used to connect (with no problems) with my alpine CDE-126BT
After I messed around with the service mode for a while trying to crank up the volumes, there is no transmitted voice over the call (the other side can not here me when I'm connected to the car's Bluetooth).
I know that if I reboot the phone all the changes that was done in the service mode would reset to the default settings, it seems to revert back default but I still have the same problem.
Any advice??
Thanks,
David.
Having problems with the speech feature with my car's bluetooth.
My 920 pairs fine with my car's bluetooth, and I can receive calls fine.
However, the speech feature where it reads incoming text messages is not working. Under Settings > Speech, I've got all the checkboxes checked, and I've tried everything from "Always On" to "Bluetooth and headsets" but nothing works. I receive a text, my phone plays the notification sound, and then nothing.
With my previous WP7.5 device (HTC HD7), this feature worked flawlessly with my car and other bluetooth headsets. Unfortunately I got rid of my headset so I can't test it with my 920.
Interestingly, I once made a call, and while it was still ringing, I got an incoming text message and bam - my phone spoke over the active bluetooth session and prompted me whether I wanted the message read aloud. The call went through and the phone was unable to pickup any commands.
Also, starting a voice command, while my phone is actively paired with my car, the phone can no longer "hear" my voice commands. Like it thinks it initiated the bluetooth session, but in reality it hasn't.
Anyone else having similar problems, or better yet, a solution??
I can only think of something to try out to get a little more information on the scope of the problem.
You could turn it to always on and try sending a text message to the phone while it is not connected via Bluetooth (e.g. at home while having the device on the table) and check wether it works then. If so, then it seems the problem is with the compatibility of the phone and the car's bluetooth.
Hi StevieBallz - gave that a shot and yes, that works. It seems there are some other people with this issue reported on various other sites. Which is a real bummer.
Played around with it some more, and it definitely seems like the phone thinks it has initiated the bluetooth "call" and is reading out commands to nowhere, and unable to hear commands as well.
I would say this is a bug and not mere incompatibility issue. If they had it working fine on WP7.5, there's no reason they couldn't implement it the same way
Given that they are now using the Windows 8 Bluetooth Stack instead of what was there in Windows CE I would say there are several reasons why it's implemented differently but that's not really the point. If there are other people with incompatibility issues that might lead to a fix down the road. The more interesting question though would be if there are Bluetooth pairings where this works with the 920, because if it doesn't work with any Bluetooth devices I guess that would get fixed pretty soon.
I fear I can't give you any more advice than to contact support on your issue so that they get aware of the situation (because I guess Nokia won't be scouting forums for all kinds of possible bugs). I hope they will fix the functionality for you soon.
PS: I can't count the number of times I've seen issues with Bluetooth. No matter what devices I use, Bluetooth still seems very hit and miss Working with the BMW Bluetooth but only partially but working fine in an Audi. Sometimes only with Blackberry, etc. One would believe if there is a standard they would get all this sorted out someday but somehow they don't.

It works on my car ('10 nissan). It works on some cars/bluetooth stacks, and not others. This, by definition, is a compatibility issue. Now, why this stack fails against other stacks, when the CE stack worked, is a good question.
Hi, noticed with ALL AOSP / AOKP ROM's 4.2 and above that Bluetooth has an issue, bothering everyday use and still not fixed. Once you use BT car hands free and you want to to take the call back on the handset (internal or external speaker does not make any difference) the sound never comes back to the phone. Tried at least 3 different CM10 and above based ROM's, all has this problem. Anyone can get it fixed? For everyday use this is a real issue, cannot be that you cannot leave your car until you finished the call /or need to close the call and call again with BT off. Not realistic during a daily use. Thanks for any comments
i am having the same problem.
also when calling can't turn off my car. then it quit my call

I was very happy with LiquidSmooth 2.8, so I decided to upgrade to 2.9.
Everything works very well, except for bluetooth.
Symptoms:
- A2DP streaming to my car stereo (JVC x250BT) works
- Bluetooth calls with car stereo result in either no or horrible sound
- Bluetooth calls with my (Parrot ck3100) carkit work sometimes on the first call after a reboot (usually fails)
- Bluetooth calls with a JabraBT215 headset also fail
- All the above has been tested with the device being the only registered (and therefore connected) device.
-- sometimes, I can hear the sound rapidly switching between the handset and the bluetooth device.
Occasionally, I also got no incoming sound during calls with no Bluetooth device connected.
Sometimes, connecting a wired headset would help.
I tried to highlight the point few months ago already on a development forum but I am too junior to be listen to... Even i strongly believe this is a real bug gating real everyday usage if you sometime want to use your phone as a phone..

Hi all,
Having some issues with my z2 bluetooth dropping. Very strange.
I can connect my bluetooth on the z2 to any device without issue ( namely my 2013 Hilux), however, after 40s, my bluetooth will drop, and reconnect withing about 2-3 seconds, and start the cycle again, on and on forever. I am not sure why it does this? It happens when i just leave it connected and do nothing with it, or when i play music too.
The interesting thing is, if i receive a call, i will be able to speak with someone for the first 40s, then the bluetooth will disconnect and reconnect (all in about 2-3) seconds, and after that i will not experience any more bluetooth drops for the entirety of my journey, either through leaving it there connected not doing anything or playing music. Very strange.
Ive tried turning, stamina off, wifi off, nfc off, etc but nothing seems to change it.
Does anyone have any insight on this? Its like the bluetooth on the z2 is requesting something from my other devices, and when it doesnt receive it, shuts off, then as my bluetooth is on and recognizes my paired device is nearby, reconnects straight away. If i get a call as ive mentioned, its like whatever the z2 is looking for it just ignores it and keeps the connection regardless.
Happens to me in my 2014 MB. It's definitely something sony is doing wrong with their Bluetooth. I never had that issue with other phone brands (Samsung, HTC, Moto).

Ahh so not an isolated case!
I have no issue with my Note 3 or my older HTC One. Its strange. I remember reading something about Bluetooth 4.0 requesting a device descriptor or something descriptor (my bluetooth knowledge is a bit lacking), could it be that thats what its not receiving and hence dropping out? Surely there must be someone on XDA who knows a workaround for this issue.
I have the same issue with 2011 C-Class and Z2 drop out constantly and turn it self off.
The Xperia Z fix seems to have fixed the issue and will auto reconnect, but it is still annoying with the temporary connection drop.
Anyone know if this will be fixed in firmware update?
Ive found that 4.4.2 has alot of base module issues
You will have wait for sony to update to 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 or 5.0

Any idea when the update will be out?
Extremely annoying, even with the Xperia bluetooth fix, the BT fix app will constantly come up with connecting/reconnecting messages.
Almost unusable in the Mercedes...

I turned off the Bluetooth media functions and enable only the telephony features, seems to have stabilized...
I have BT music streaming problem too. Z2 connects to pioneer deh-x9600bt car radio, but the songs keep skipping every now and then. I have tried every possible settings, changed memory card, tested spotify and deezer and problem still exists. HTC phones working without issues in my car, so must be something to do with Sony.
edit: running 4.4.4 existenz currently, but problem has been from the start
any update to this issue? Just bought my Z2 and I am also experiencing this Bluetooth "skipping, jumping, dropouts" every minute or so while listening to my Chevy Volt bluetooth audio. I am on 4.4.4 but am considering downgrading it to 4.4.2, root, and check out other roms to see if problem still persists.
fixed!
found a fix!
1) install this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.devmil.xperiabluetoothmediafix&hl=en
2) open app, check the BT connection that have stuttering / dropouts
3) restart phone
4) wait for message box to appear momentarily to say "BT XXX reconnected" or something to that effect
5) test it out and....???profit!
update: perhaps I spoke too soon. A week of using the app this BT connection dropouts still appears at random. Rebooting the phone is what usually fixes it. I wonder if the bluetooth stack would fix it...can it be replaced in the phone kernel?
well I did more experiment with it this morning. Little background info: My car has bluetooth audio for phone, stereo, and message. The phone is C6503 with .167 firmware. These are the result to see if it fixes the stuttering:
1) toggleing bluetooth on/off: no
2) toggleing throw (audio cast) on/off: no
3) disable auto throw in throw setting: no
4) restarting phone: yes (but AVRCP would stop working; i.e. can't skip track from car. Also notices option to read text message was gone)
5) delete MAP profile in bluetooth setting: yes (seems to work for the rest of the ride...stay tune)
So if you don't mind not able to have the car read your text, this is the fix.
Hey all. I'm having trouble finding a voice command app that works for me.
The primary problem I'm having is bluetooth use: I need something for use in the car, where my phone is connected to my bluetooth stereo system, and many such programs have trouble talking out the bluetooth speaker (utter has this problem, but only at random) or picking up from the bluetooth mic (at least one other I've tried, can't remember which).
It would be particularly excellent if the app would only be on when bluetooth connected.
I don't mind paying money.
As for the actual voice commands I want:
1. launch app (I only have like 2 apps I ever launch in the car)
2. call person from contact book
A super-bonus awesome thing that nothing I've found will even attempt:
3. Send myself emails *that are more than one sentence long*, so I can dictate notes to myself in the car.
Ideas?
