Have you checked the recycle folder in .estrong?

Yes it's empty

When you say data do you mean stuff you've copied to it or app data? Mine's at 6gb from just my installed apps (with games moved to the SD with FolderMount). There are also some apps that don't display stored data well. If you use QuickPic for Google Drive photos for instance, it caches the viewed pictures on the internal storage but it doesn't show up under the apps data even when it can grow over 2gb's. Google Play Music and Spotify for instance also default their downloaded music to the internal SD.

have you moved most of your apps to the external SD card? if not, your apps may be taking up that space. best place to start is to run ES Explorer's SD Card Analyzer and see what's contributing to the space hog.

Internal Memory

I'm just wondering how much internal memory do you guys have left? I have the T-Mob 1024mb but after WinMo, Android, and some apps, all I'm left with is about 75mb. Does that sound about right to you guys?
How do you guys with the 512mb version manage to run both winmo and Android?? I'm using Energy Titanium, which is very light and small already. I'm surprised Android and my apps take up so much.
android runs off the sd card not the internal memory
there is a total of 576MB of ram on the phone plus a 1GB ROM plus a 16GB storage card. You should install apps to the storage card instead of the phone to save space.

When I go into Settings>SD & Phone storage> Under Internal phone storage, it lists 82.47MB, this number changes as I delete and installs apps.

How do you install apps to the sd card? When I download an app from market, it just automatically installs and I'm given a choice to choose either the internal phone storage or sd card.
tap on SD card as that is your external storage and then proceede with the installation

LOSING 70 MB Storage Space daily! I am on XWLSK wth Siah Kernel. Help!

I have one problem. Recently I have been noticing that I'm losing nearly 70 MB storage space on a daily basis, without having downloaded any music or any other file! How is this possible? I have about 200 apps installed in my phone. Even my Call recorder app does not eat that much space....so how am I losing so much space on a daily basis? Any ideas?
I have all the other usual apps like Tweetcaster, Friendcaster etc.
I am on XWLSK rooted with Siah Kernel
Where are you losing storage space?
Phone memory, internal storage or external sdcard?
Internal Storage, from the 11.5 GB available space. I have a 16 GB (actual available is 11.5 GB approx.) internal storage Galaxy S 2. Firmware XWLSK 4.1.2. And I'm not downloading anything, still losing about 70 MB space on a daily basis. Have to keep deleting my stored Music & Video files to make room every time the available space gets close to Zero.

I think it's called the INTERNAL SD CARD Storage. The 16 GB (Actual usable only 11.5 GB approx) storage that came built in by factory in Samsung Galaxy S 2.
Could be app's cache building up, have you deleted cache of apps yet? But 70MB that seems too much so i dont think i can help you any further... :/
Download ES File explorer and then press a "analyze SD-card" option. You will then see what is taking so much space on your internal storage (internal sd.card).
1. Open Es file explorer
2. press manu button and then "manage"
3. press "analyze sd-card"

Ok. I will download this app, then do the analysis and will revert after that. Even I am perplexed what is eating up so much space. Maybe it is some google system app.
It can't be the cache as I clean it regularly with 1 Tap Cleaner. And the cache is used from the dedicated 1.98 GB (Phone memory) space allotted to it. I am talking about losing space from my 11.5 GB Internal SD Card which came pre installed from Samsung.
Some app's cache are stored in the internal storage. Go check out /android/data in internal sdcard (storage)

Used the ES File explorer to analyse SD, and I found the culprit! It was the Root Uninstaller app whose folder had occupied something like 3 GB of my Storage Space! What the hell was being stored by this app in its folder!! Anyway I deleted it and gained about 3 GB space. Thanks a ton mate for the help
Delete the lost.dir folder and also thumbnails folder under dcim/

SD card question

I have bought a new tablet (Asus k019) and a new sd card because I can only use 4/8gb of internal storage, but I can't download any game/app bigger than 1.5 gb (I have 1gb left on the internal storage) because it says I don't have enough memory and any picture I recieve on whatsapp or any picture I take it's saved on the internal storage (called /sdcard/ in file manager and the card /MicroSD/ ,btw). On my old phone all my media it's automatically saved on the sd card, not on the internal storage. How can I make the sd card the default location for apps/media?

You will have to set it in each app. Also even if you move the app to the sdcard most of the data will still be on internal storage. This is due to the way android boots things up. The sdcard is not made to run games off of.

I dont think that app has the option. The main reason is mostly due to google removing the base code for SD cards. Each OEM adds them back in their own way so there is no universal way to code an app for it.
Check the settings. I dont use it nor does anyone that I know. We all moved away when FB bought it.

Internal Memory~ Help

I have been having a major problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. The internal memory of the phone should be 11.35GB (even though it should be 16, but I know how these stuff actually work), The internal memory keeps being filled with nothing.
As you can see the total space is 11.35 GB and if you count the applications (7GB), pictures & videos (5MB) and miscellaneous/Download files (15MB), they constitute no more than 8GB, which means that there should be no less than 3 GB left as available in the phone's internal memory, but as you can see I have got 479MB available. How did that happen?
I Already tried Format Data but still same thing happen memory keeps decreasing 50-100MB. I have rebooted the system yesterday when the internal memory was completely full, Clean system cache and dalvik. And I have a feeling that by tomorrow I will get the memory completely full without downloading or adding anything on the phone.
Please help me.

Try SD card analyst in ES File Explorer and see what is eating your memory
Or try SD Maid

Can't access or view android SD Card formatted as Internal Storage

I have a spare cheap ZTE phone that only has 8GB internal memory.
So I added a 16GB external SD card and formatted that as Internal Storage. Now on the android phone, I was finally happy to be able to have all the apps install on the external 16GB microsd card.
In the android storage settings, it also shows up as 24 GB total (8GB phone plus 16GB microSD)
However, when I use ES Explorer or when I connect it to a PC, it only shows me 3.24 GB so I can't copy any music, photos, or large files... it's not letting me access/use that rest of the 24 GB I'm supposed to have available because Android seems to encrypt it (as it was Android formatted it as internal storage, I believe).
Android understands it has 24GB available when installing apps, but it only thinks it has 3.24 GB when trying to copy data files.
What is the deal with that? What should I do? Is there a workaround or fix?
