Bricked. - Sprint HTC One (M9)

hey, did something stupid. and completely own fault tbh.
Got a sprint M9 that I've been trying to get convert to a developer/unlocked M9.
Long story short I relocked my bootloader and couldn't unlock it, so I decided to try this, being late didn't read the "DOESN'T WORK ON M9" bit.
Now it won't boot. no charge led. nothing. Plugging into my linux and using dmesg, and I get a lot of errors and eventually it finds a qualcom usb modem.
lsusb gives:
Code:
Bus 007 Device 078: ID 05c6:9008 Qualcomm, Inc. Gobi Wireless Modem (QDL mode)
anyway I can undo "echo -ne "HTCU" | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3 bs=1 seek=33796"?
or am I royally ****ed?

oh my... you are in QHSUSB mode. you remind me old day of evo 3d, where we needed to go into this mode by bricking device. so that we can downgrade hboot..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1522351
follow it for reference.. you just have to do it by trail and hit method.. and beware as its for other device. try to flash the exact version of bootloader version.. so that atleast it can be booted. search google for QHSUSB mode, htc unbricking project.
my words are only an advice.. i am not responsible for anything..

thanks for the links, I gave it ago but unfortunately it didn't work :// I think it might be because I corrupted sbl1 and its cutting off before what ever magik is done to enable the partions.
I've kinda resolved it by calling HTC. It's still under "warranty" so they will fix it for free. They won't be able to switch it on either, so they'll never know what I did
I suppose the moral of the story is don't mess with the emmc...

I can not understand why most want to convert M9 Sprint to Developer Version, if only you get s-off and SuperCID and you can flash any ROM to remove completely all Sprint Bloatware...

The main reason for me was that I needed GSM, WCDMA and the LTE bands that work for my carrier, of those Sprint only had access to WCDMA.

Debranding Optimus HTC Hero

Hi everyone.
I am an Android rookie, but i am trying to learn more and more each day.
I bought recently a HTC Hero from optimus operator (Portugal) - Orange - and it came with 1.5 version of the OS. There is original 2.1 version but not for my operator.
I already made an goldcard for it, removed simlock, and rooted (do i think is not ok because installed titanium backup pro and i try to have root acess - allow on SU - and i got an error from the app, saying it had not root acess) but now i would like to know step by step what to do?
what rom (original and generic) should i install to have 2.1?
How to do it, with goldcard inside cellphone?
It is possible to go back?
I have read in Q&A that some orange phones, whem the debranding is done, loose the network due to some radio network imcompabilities... how can i know if that is or is not my case?
I would be greatful for all the help someone could give me.
Many thanks
D_Saint

Try to Install ADB on your Pc It will save you a lot of hassle and make life easy for you
also if you have adb installed you can reroot anytime if you unroot by mistake. so do search for ADB and stuff on google or this forums
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=757233
IF you have already rooted
Make sure you do a NAND BACKUP by going into your recovery before flashing any roms
You can flash anyrom you like from the DEVELOEMENT SECTION in this forums
Elelinux's ROMS are really nice but its all upto your choice.
Here is a list of some radios for HERO

anymore Questions Do ask there are lot of helpful people around XDA )
Was a perfect NOOB when I joined
You don't need the goldcard anymore if you have rooted your device. If you did and you also have a recovery flashed (i prefer amon RA recovery) you should do a nandroid backup like tfn said and then you can flash any rom you want .. you have to try different roms to get the best for you i think but you should try cronos 2.2, villain 13 or elelinux.
You can find all roms on my page: http://chulak.de/hrdb/index.php?site=a21
Hi,.
Thanks for the hints.
First doubt, phone rooted or not (SU)?
with phone connected to pc, with adb....
"adb shell"
"su"
and a get the "#" sign instead of the "$". so i shoukd have the device rooted.
But i installed titanium backup pro (think version is 3.7.6)... run allow root acess ... and the i receive the message that the software can not have root acess and it needs it to run without errors .... so rooted or not rooted?
is there another way to test without damaging phone?
I prefer the "original" HTC roms instead of the mooded ones, i think they should be more reliable.
Found out the radio on my phone is 63.18.55.06FU_6.35.07.08 ... is it compatible with the other HTC roms, or it should be changed ... and in that case is it compatible with the phone itself?
Again thats for all the help.

Please can abyone give me some hints or a guide ...

Boas,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645253
Neste momento estou a usar a rom do robocik, a RCmix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=702398
Espero que te ajude
(English, fast google)
Hi,
I also bought a Hero Optimus. But unlike you paid for the unlock code on the site www.unlocking.com (12 €). I managed to unlock the phone and wanted to remove the 1.5 as well as limited is slower than the 2.x versions
So I used what seemed to be the best guide to rooting and to install a custom rom. It is authored by btdag and was extremely easy and fast:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645253
So bags these files, you put the root of the SD and run the steps.
After that you do wipe the caches and such raisins and the rom. Zip to the root of SD card and through the recovery mandas flashing, 2 or 3 minutes after you already have a custom rom. Right now I am using the rom robocik the RCmix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=702398
I hope it helps you
Obrigado.

Thanks,
is it valid for "oficial" roms (RRU) ? And is it reversible?
About radio update, that lets me confused, the post you mentioned says that they are not region conneted, simply we should choose the latest - by the way which the one is it, taking in account that i have an optimus/orange hero equipment.
Thanks again for the help,

NAND +ext backup error
Hy.
Trying to do a NAND+ Ext backup.
Installed recovery-RA-hero-v1.7.0.1.img ok, and rebooted in recovery.
But when i choose the backup choice, it starts ok , says performing backup, the "...." starts, but after 2 min or so it gives me an error, and says "Error : Run 'nandroid-mobile.sh' via adb!
PLEASE ADVISE.
Many thanks,
D_Saint
i usually get that when battery is low.
try charging battery to 100% then try again.

Hi, did you installed 2.3 on htc hero? Or you keep the 2.1 official?
I am trying to install in a HTC Hero Optimus the 2.3.3 Sense but with no sucess...
hi. Only now i saw your question.
I still have the nazgulled rom based on the 2.1 oficial but with root. Works ok but camera seems a little fussy. Thinking of installing flykernel13 in orther to speedup phone. Also saw heroine++ rom 2.1 based and i am thinking of giving a try to this rom. Other seem to have some bugs or not being stable so no 2.3 rom.

1- you gotta get your phone on DIAG Mode you can find that info in this forum.
2- Once you are in Diag Mode you can conect to cdma workshop and rewrite the nv item 8035 (click here) "you need to do this so the data settings can be saved when your are configuring the phone in qpst.
3- Then you can program your phone on qps(you need to find the settings for your cdma carrier)
you can follow a standar guide for a motorola x or x2,
i followed this guide but is in spanish click here
Thanks hjcg2001.
I did´nt use cdma work shop.
At just 2 step, I have a iusacell number.
1) Get the spc number from RadioComm
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1365058
2) On the phone dial pad, press ## followed by the 6-digit code you get in the spc number, followed by an additional #. Example: ##123456#
Change the MIN and MDN number for your new provider.
Automatic the phone restart.
I did get those number, when I ´m calling to iusacell for new number.
Thanks.

[Q] Nokia 710 with custom rom Carrier Unlock

Hello Everyone,
I downgraded the bootloader to Qualcomm and successfully installed the rainbow mod, which claims to be carrier unlocked, but my SIM still doesn't work in the stupid phone.
In config->about it shows that the carrier is CV GB SW ID313 v02 and I read on some post here that this is UK unlocked or something.
If I install some rom will this work? Is it possible to hack something using my beloved Linux?
Why doesn't it work with the brazilian SIM? It doesn't ask me anymore for the carrier unlock code, but it first asked for the PIN then for the PUK, of the SIM. I am sure these are correct, since I confirmed with my carrier.
The original carrier is TELCEL, from Mexico, and I already checked in the websites that give the code to unlock, but they don't have this carrier in their list.
Should I throw the phone throught the window?
Thanks a LOT!

[Q] Bricked my S3, Telcel Mexico did apply my warranty... flashing Cyanogen now safe?

(Just noticed this wasn't supposed to be the forum to post this... if a kind mod sees this thread, could you please move it to the Questions forum? Thanks in advance :3)
First thing you might want to hear: In Mexico, if you root or flash a custom ROM on your Galaxy S3, brick it, and your bootloader won't work, Telcel won't void your warranty. Why? Because the bootloader is the part that proves whether you have fumbled around your OS -- and therefore, if the bootloader doesn't work, there is no way to prove that your ROM is not stock, and in order to avoid possible lengthy legal action, they just fix it without saying a word.
For any paisano who might be googling in Spanish: En México, si rooteas o cargas una ROM custom en tu Galaxy S3, posteriormente se queda brickeado, y el bootloader no funciona, Telcel sí hace válida la garantía.
Now that this is out of the way, here's my story...
>bought in February an international Samsung Galaxy S3 from Telcel, Mexico
>ran on rooted stock ROM for about 6 months, eMMC Check says I have the bad sudden death chipset
>one day, I declare that the stock ROM has run its course and flash CM 9.1 stable, during the whole time I forget that I have the bad chipset
>everything runs fine for 24 hours
>then I decide to install Whatsapp, Cyanogen freezes on initial set up (after receiving the confirmation SMS and setting my display name, before actually getting the chats screen)
>after the fourth reboot, Cyanogen won't start anymore
>I go to recovery and clear the cache
>recovery freezes too
>spend about 2 hours trying to make it work with Odin on download mode
>find out the PIT was missing, find one online and try to flash it
>it won't, the internet says this means my Galaxy S3 is now officially bricked
>submit it to Telcel to have it fixed
>one week later, it's fixed
>eMMC now says I have the good chipset
eMMC Check now says I have a Type 016G92 chip, date 01/1997, CID 1101003031364739323094152477107d, fwrev 0x30, and that it's not a Sudden Death chip. In theory I should be good now, but I so definitely don't want to risk another brick again. Does that really, really, really means it is now safe to flash CyanogenMod 9.1 again?
Also, why did CM 9.1 freeze while doing the initial Whatsapp setup? Is there a way to prevent or fix it?
We now have CM 10.2. Anything that has a version higher than 4.1.2 is safe from SDS. CM 9 is 4.0.x so it's technically unsafe.
Anyway, your chip is good, so you won't get hit by SDS.
Thread moved to proper forum.
Lucky you
Lucky you! I just went to telcel today, they had no issue with it being rooted. However when they sent it to Samsung, they sernt it back to Telcel and said warranty was void since it was rooted and they offer to replace the system board for 7880 pesos..
I explained the Telcel technician the situation, and he agreed, so they had me write up a long letter explaining the situation and have them reconsider repairing the manifacturing flaw under warranty as it is a recogniced hardware problem.
So in about 10 days, I will find out if Samsung is going comply. I fear they won't and will use the rooted phone excuse for not replacing they flawed hardware..
My guess is that I'll end up with a non functional S3..

It all depends upon what this claimed flawed hardware is .
But Samsung are vey specific on rejecting warranty .
Your claim should be against the vendor they sold the goods not Samsung and yes Samsung rejected the claim from the vendor . But the vendor still sold you the goods and if as you say its flawed hardware then check your countries law regarding the sale of goods .
