Hi there,
First post and I'm not overly tech savvy so I hope I get this right. I recently bought a Oukitel U2 running Android 5.1. There are several issues I am trying to figure out but the main one made me sleep in this morning so it's my priority.
The phone is rooted and the bootloader unlocked. I'm not exactly sure when the problem started or if it's been there from the start as I don't reboot the phone that often. However, it has come to my attention that if the phone is in vibrate or silent mode and I turn up the alarm volume it works just fine. On rebooting the phone though the alarm is muted. This doesn't occur when using other audio profiles. But occurs consistently on a reboot.
I have tried resetting all the audio profiles, starting in safe mode, and restarting from safe more, and using a different alarm clock app. But always the same result.
Maybe this is what is supposed to happen, but if after a reboot the alarm is muted and I switch to the general audio profile the alarm volume is restored. If I then switch back to the vibrate profile without rebooting it does not mute the alarm.
But I've spent hours reading about all the priority settings etc and nothing seems to work.
Has anyone got any thoughts?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm wondering if I set an alarm at 730am and off the phone. Will the phone on itself back and sound the alarm at 730am?
not as far as i'm aware. with android, off is off. the phone will not turn itself back on automatically under any circumstances when it is off.
if you wish to replicate this behaviour you need to put the phone into flight mode but leave the phone switched on for the alarms to sound.
you can use a 3rd party app to switch on flight mode at a pre-defined time if you wish or do it manually.
Hi.
On my old Samsung Fascinate, I used to use ToggleSettings, but apparently that was discontinued and doesn't work at all on my new Galaxy S3...
Here's what I need:
In short, I need ALL sounds and vibrations EXCEPT phone calls (and maybe the alarm clock if possible) to automatically be turned off at a specified time every evening. My wake-up time is different on many days, so I need to be able to turn them all back on manually without it disabling the automatic quiet mode in the evening.
What I used to do with the previous program was to turn off all Syncing - no Syncing, no email sounds.
I tried Profile Scheduler, and it's a nice program, but it has a few limitations that don't work for my purposes - it will buzz at every profile change, it let a calendar notification through when all sounds were supposed to be off (except alarm - I figured alarm was clock, not calendar, maybe I'm wrong there...), and when I manually turn Night mode off in the morning whenever I get up, it disables the schedule to turn Night mode back on later...
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I'm in the same situation as you now with my HTC One. I've moved from an iPhone where the DND service works exactly as you described above. Profile Scheduler does not do the trick. I guess it's not a good sign that this has sat idle for so long!
I ended up using Llama.
After some tricking around, I figured out what I needed.
I have Night Mode as an Event - it turns off syncing (no email sounds) and enables the Profile Night where most sounds are turned off.
I'm not 100% sure that the phone whitelist works, but I haven't really needed it lately.
Also, I setup a folder on my Home screen with shortcuts to my Night Mode EVENT (not the Profile) and Day Mode.

Thanks, I'll take a look. Found this thread too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40570994
Hey all,
I'm stock 47a, no root... Things seem to be okay with 47a, but I noticed that even if I have my phone set to vibrate or silent and someone calls, the ringer is still audible anyway. The audio levels change to the ringer at level 1. The little vibrate icon goes away as well as my audio manager pro toggle goes from "Vibrate" to "None".
This is maddening. I can't seem to figure this one out. Can anyone take a couple minutes and see if that happens with them? I'm thinking it's a bug...but maybe it's a quiet-time/DND setting somewhere (I've never messed with those).
I'm rooted and debloated on 47A, so who knows, but I use Vibrate and Silent all the time without a problem. Other than starting fresh by flashing the 10B TOT etc, I don't more what else to suggest.
Over the last month or so, my phone has been randomly activating DND mode. It seems like I did not have this issue when I had tilt to wake turned off, so I'm wondering if my watch is causing this. I've also posted in my phone's forum with no responses. Has anyone else experienced this with the Zenwatch? Is there some gesture that activates it?
What is Do not Disturb mode?
Is it just going silent? There is a DND switch in the android wear app that silences the phone when the watch is connected, is that off?
DND is the new silent mode that silences all notifications except alarms and priority.
My ZW2 automatically goes into DND when the power save feature kicks in at 15%.
Yeah you can put the phone and watch into "do not disturb" mode by swiping down from the top of the screen and turning it on or off. I'm wondering if this is somehow accidentally getting switched on there or if it is a software bug with the phone. You can set it to come on on a schedule on the phone, but I have never set that option up.

Ok, the watch is definitely causing this. My phone was in the middle of an upgrade for Android and I noticed that the watch had switched over to Do Not Disturb while it was disconnected from the phone. I may be due for a factory reset.

So, I finally figured out what is causing this. You can enable Do Not Disturb entirely through gestures with the watch. If you twist your arm towards you with the screen on, it will pull down the menu from the top that has your battery and the button for do not disturb. If this menu is open, a quick downward flick of your arm will enable do not disturb. Apparently, I am doing this combination of motions fairly often.
You are a lifesaver with this tip!
The strange thing is that after a while my Zenwatch also does not receive any agenda items (agenda simply shows no items) nor will it receive any notifications (calls, emails etc) whenever the DND issue arises even though I exit DND mode. Until now the only solution I have found to this is doing a hard reset on both my phone (HTC M8 running latest GPE marshmallow) and the Zenwatch 2. The usual tricks like clearing the watch and the Android Wear app do not resolve this.
Any thoughts on what might be wrong?

I never ran into that issue. Mine seemed to go back to normal once I disabled DND. However, my phone had some issues with DND and settings would crash if I tried to adjust the DND settings. I think that this was just a weird issue with my phone and not related to the watch.
I have not had DND enable since I turned off wrist gestures in the watch settings. I also sent feedback to Google requesting to be able to customize or remove items from that drop-down menu. Maybe if others who are experiencing this issue do the same, they will implement some kind of fix.
Hi all,
Wondering if there's an app that can tell what can turn ringer on by itself...
At night if I turn my ringer off, texts wake me the next morning by vibrating.
If I turn on do not disturb texts wake me with full ringer notification sound. Changed dnd schedule to off later in day, didn't do anything. Changed dnd to priorities off and no schedule, still wakes on texts.
I have no idea if it's the texts pushing through, or something turns it back on through the night.
I've not installed anything prior to the issue. Since it started I installed a new router app and cam app, but again was happening before.
Losing sleep is getting to me so I'm ready to do a hard reset. Hoping however there's a way to track via a log what could be causing this.
I did update a large amount of apps, so I'm guessing that is the trigger. Just zero clue what is really causing. Would take ages to install a few apps at a time then wait for morning to test...
Any guesses?
Thank you,
Sleepy android user...
