Looking for Best Battery + Performance Setup - Need Advice - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm on a quest to find the best battery + performance combo. I am looking to get advice on the best ROM, and then maybe the best governor and other settings for battery life. Any relevant non-bashing helpful advice would be appreciated!

I will keep an eye on this topic. Just bought a moto E 2nd gen to my dad and I'm looking to run the device as simple as possible. To run smooth and have a nice battery performance. His usage is only to make calls, some usage of whatsup when he remembers it exists, and 10 pictures per month ..
Or.. Could I go straight to cyano? what version? kk?

[Q] Recommendation for a stable battery saving rom

Hi!
I used my P500 for some months with CyanogenMmat, which is really great but sometimes produced screen freezes.
Now I'm giving my phone to a technically less skilled person. To make sure this person enjoys the phone as much as I did, I want to install an adequate rom for her.
In my opinion this means, the rom should be really stable and guarantee long battery life. Also it wouldn't hurt if the rom was quite up2date, but that's not the main issue.
Can you recommend me a rom?
Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,
I recommend you to give her the phone with rooted official GB because according to my experience, I believe that official one is the best for technically less skilled person and I also suggest you to install Player pro for best experience of music with its inbuilt 5 band equalizer and you may also use DSP pack but I think it will hard for her to adjust the 10 band equalizer..
Also suggest you to use flash player 11 for stock rom to enjoy online games and videos.. Search the XDA for the thread..
And no doubt that battery backup is good on stock roms. You can also use Juice defender app for enhancing the battery life.
If she use Stock rom definitely she will not face any problem with wifi, usb, 2G,3G or any thing else.
Press THANKS If I helped you.!!!
In my oppinion best stable is nightly4e and franco #4 kernel both combinations do extremly good job of preserving battery life
I am now using RESURRECTION 1.5, stock based and smooth so far
Both the wife and I are running oxygen with franco-4 and the wifes a junkie . Meaning phones always in her hand ... Making calls, texts, searching the net ,fb, playing smurfs and other games 75% of a day and she has never had any real problems other than a FC once or twice a week but phone always lasts her from 6:30 am till about 11pm. With her heavy use
Blackbird v1.2-beta 1
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
my opinion
old bb
mik cm7 6.5.8 + fserve gl(latest) + min480 max 710 + freeze/uninstall maps,facebook,tweeter + gps off when not in use + always 2g when not surfing the net...
new bb
nightly four e v4.6 + min480 max 710+ freeze/uninstall maps, facebook, twitter + gps off when not in use + always 2g when not surfing the net...
i cannot suggest what are the best battery friendly kernel between the new ones(fk 4,roqxiii,ta 1.1,etc...) i think all of them are performance oriented

best battery saving settings with setcpu?

Hey guys, I recently bought SetCPU and I noticed a nice feature, allowing me to set profiles for different apps, or battery levels.
That is nice and all but I dont know what is the best minimum or maximum CPU level for best battery life.
Im not looking for best performance but I dont want it to lag either.

thanks
I find google then search .

[Q] Recommended ROMs/Kernels for Battery Life and Configurability

OK, I realize that everyone has a different idea of the best ROM and/or kernel, and I fully expect to try out a few different ones to see which is best for me. However, I am hoping that I won't be irritating anyone by asking for suggestions on where to start. I don't need a lot of extra features, but I do like to be able to configure as many settings as possible--that is the main reason I chose Android in the first place. I also want to maximize battery life. Based on my experience with SlimBean on the Nexus S, it and SlimKat will be definite contenders, but which others should I consider? And are there any specific kernels I should look at? It will be a couple of weeks before my LGOG arrives, so there should be fairly stable 4.4.2 based ROMs by then, but I don't mind using 4.3 ROMs if they will provide better performance. I have been using a Galaxy S II for the last several months, where NeatROM is the only real choice if you want good battery life, so I'm a bit out of the loop.
I have been having a similar issue with trying to maximize performance and battery life at the same time. I have found that using android 4.3 really does make a huge difference in battery life and it makes all the animations, I think, look more fluid. Now as Kernels go, I cannot recomend one in particular, but look for one with eco mode or just change your processor setting with Trickster mod. I use only 2 cores, the ondemand governor, and keep my frequencies between 1026000 and 1512000. Hopefully this helps.

I don't have the same phone as you but Intellidemand / Zen (governor / schedular) seem to be a winning combination for performance vs battery life but it will probably vary from ROM to ROM and supposes the kernel you've installed supports it.
Perhaps you could say what you're hoping to achieve? Max battery life (slow the CPU down) vs performance.

Oh, sorry, I'm hoping to max battery life and maybe speed up the phones performance, (if possible) I got the paid app from the market even though we don't have the same phone but if you could share your settings I guess its better than the factory settings
Once again thank you, and sorry I forgot to put what I was hoping to achieve in my original post

You have to choose. Best performance or best battery. If you want the best compromise then like I said, Intellidemand and zen if your kernel supports them.
I'm not sharing settings as we have different phones and different Kernels so it'd be pointless.
I used to have lots of profiles for various times of day, screen on, screen off etc but now I pretty have two. One for general (min and max are whatever the kernel allows) and a profile for low battery where it max's the CPU at 30-50% whatever is max and changes to the conservative governor.

Ok see didn't know that, so I would choose performance over battery life then I am new to this and don't want to brick my phone I bricked a rooted android trying to change a boot animation using root explorer so just trying to be careful, also if you could help me with the "MHz" settings it would be great to the choices are 497, 754 ,988 & 1209 that would be great to
I have all the good root apps titanium backup pro root explorer pro and a lot others, but lol I just don't know how to use them yet...any knowledge on a boot animation logo change would be appreciated to I learned a little after I bricked ny phone I know that I didn't put it in the right folder but every post I read people say it bricked their phone so maybe I should staw away from it until I am a little bit more experienced idk.
But for cpu performance would be what I would choose
Thanks again..

This phone is battery hungry, even with Lollipop's Project Volta scheduling system it won't make much difference, and our wonderful devs can't get it working good enough for daily use... yet.
Honestly, I have found the EclipticRez to the best for battery life of every ROM I have tried, followed by Evervolv and Talon, no newer ROMs have been better. Honestly, if I had to go back to the Rez now, I would probably use Talon.
^Yes!!! Talon has been the absolute best in battery for me. I've never really seen anyone talk about the BEST pure AOKP ROM for the Rezound PERIOD! It's Android 4.2.2 but it runs like a champ.
So you gys suggest talon
Talon vs stuck rom = talon better? Well i may try,
any other suggestions ?

Talon for AOSP/AOKP style OS or EclipticRez for Sense based... These are clearly the best in battery life.
