flash mode keeps rebooting - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Trying to upgrade to the latest firmware but flashtool is giving me nothing biuut headaches. Tried three pcs now, first two kept freezing, now the third one the phone keeps rebooting after flashing starts. Ive tried more than a dozen times but getting nowhere with it.
Ive tried to enter flash before preparing files, and once it prompts you to plug the phone in. neither work differently.
Anyone else been able to use flashtool with the z5c? is there a specific driver for this out since the latest flashtool doesnt go past z3?
Any help would be appreciated!

Try another cable. (sounds silly, but it helped me), or if you're using the original cable, change to another usb port.

Have you installed the drivers that come with flashtool?
Which windows version are you on?

Yeah, I installed the first two (flash mode and fastboot?) And the z3c drivers since that's as high as it goes. This was on two win XP PCs and one 7 ent. I tried the two available versions of flash tool from there website as well.
This problem isn't isolated though,I can't flash the .200 deodexedstock ROM from the forums either as well as zombie kernal. Lol

I was able to flash the mm update on my win 7 PC today, no clue why .200 gave me problems!

Be careful with this, lucky that Flashtool didn't flash it, else your phone would have been quite ****ed up because of installing ROM for wrong phone.
Me and some others messed up the touch screen because of wrong ROM installation.

1.3.0.64 TEMS on XperiaFirm?

Have anybody noticed 1.3.0.64 firmware for D6503 on XperiaFirm? Since the last app update, I could see it.
Anybody tried this? Looks like it's an internal test firmware.
Just downloaded it. It's an 4.4.2 firmware with build number 17.1.2.A.0.251
I have attached build.prop if anybody wants to have a look!
EDIT: It has Ascom TEMS software in the /system. I have not installed this fw.

Don't use it, avoid it because you don't need it. Stay with the 314 for rooting purposes on locked bootloader.
I need this firmware for my another sirius, cause this firmware noticed on xperiafirm via flashtool

I was initially interested on this firmware because it has TEMS software which is used for Mobile Network testing by the Engineers.
But now it looks like we need a different variant.

Did u retry the ADB mode again to reflash the fotakernel.img since that your bootloader is unlock and root,it seems that is not a problem to boot back into bootloader mode
Sent from my E5563 using XDA Premium HD app
i have the same problem... sony logo just keeps on looping.... i have unlocked and rooted my e5553 but got problem on installing fotakernel.img so i installed it using flashtool (under fastboot hotboot) after that i cant boot to system anymore...
i can still access fastboot and managed to install custom recovery twrp... so right now i only have twrp and fastboot but i can't access my phone coz when booting sony logo it just keeps on looping... hope someone knows hot to fix this:crying:
So you do have twrp? Well the best thing would be to ask someone to upload the backup of their system for you made through twrp for your exact model e5553 ... I would've helped but mine is e5563 sorry !
And all the best.. Also try xperifirm and flash tool's latest version to reflash the stock ftf file... Download the file using xperifirm and then flash it using flashtool ! Be sure to report back
Please in germany

SK17i - Can't flash ICS 4.0.4 Stock via flashtool with locked bootloader?!

Hey together,
i installed android 4.4.4 on my Xperia Mini Pro (SK17i) from Legacy & everything worked fine until suddenly the touch broke without any reason... The internet knew the problem and told me to go back to stock.
I relocked the bootloader in order to use Sony PC Companion, but "Companion" (it's not really what it's posing to be) told me there is no new software due to the fact that Sony disabled the support for our devices
Trying to flash several ICS Stock version found here in the forum didnt help either because the flashing process is always aborted... See the flash log:

What the hell is going wrong?! I would like to see my good old friend/phone working again :crying:
The Problem is that I cant use my phone at the moment, so "unknwon sources and debugging" are impossible to check for me!
Can anybody help me with this problem?
Greeting
alki
I have some problem, too
Try an older version Flashtool. I think that will do the trick if memory serves me right. And with older I mean around 0.9.4. Nope sorry, don't have it for you. Again, pretty sure you will succeed with an older version. But not exactly sure how far back you will have to go.
Try searching topics from when it was released to find out which versions where used back then.
Hiya thought id try and help
just fixed my phone (soft bricked phone... all i wanted was ICS on a locked bootloader... one nameless rom....and a bit of bad judgment my part....)
BUT spent 3 days searching/researching for all files needed to restore!
if you are running windows 10 can confirm that flashtool-0.9.18.1-windows works. Also search youtube for running on windows 10 have to disable signature.... easy as pie though!
also there is a tutorial on here for rolling back to stock gingerbread then to android 4.04 ICS + Root ( file working, a little bit complicated)- TUT....Xperia.4.0.4 ROM.....
i just flashed 4.0.4 (build 4.1.B.0.431) straight and prayed i wanted my phone back and ICS so bad!
this flash guide for bricked phone was really helpful androidgadgematic.... How to fix bricked....android unbrick. (has Stock rom firmware)
It has clear pictures for flashing
Note: Xperia mini pro Hold down volume down then connect to PC....
hope you get your phone back
4.0.4 was almost worth the bricking...lol, really smart
have all files if needed...
only problem is no Google Play, (says Play Shop yet lets me add account lol)
and no timer widget (NEXT mission)

Xperia Z2 tablet SGP521 DEAD

I want to know if there is a way to recover this tab, I swapped my old tablet with a friend of mine and he told me that he was updating the tablet trough the xperia companion program but for some reason the usb got disconnected from it and BUM! tablet got bricked after that( I don't really know if that happened). Now the tablet shows "the software update failed, connect your usb and try again later'', sometimes just appears a low battery icon whitout the charging percentage when I try to turn it on, I have never seen the charge percentage just a battery icon with a flash sign.
things I've done: *charging tablet for 2 days several times.
*tried reset button near the sim card slot(sometimes get into flashmode).
*tried flash stock rom via flashtool and I get many errors like usb debugging off, for MTP 2011 devices blah blah blah... wich I don't honestly know if its enabled, sometimes I get processing system.sin error and loader.sin error. its really hard to get into flashmode, I have tried to flash the stock rom by unchecking system.sin and it goes trough the process and finishes but tablet never comes up, I tried 09.24.3 and 0.9.18 and no luck.
*tried xperia companion software but I get an error message that something went wrong and cancels the process.
*after all of that I took it to a repair center and they told me that the battery was dead and bought a new one and put it in but they told after I bought and after their installed it that for some reason the tablet its refusing to flash software and blah blah blah..... I wasted 70$ on that battery without luck, I am really dissapointed that I tried lots of things without luck and I wonder if there is something wrong with the board or the circuits? plz help me guy I will really appreciate it

i have read that some users could fix the sleep of death issue by charging the device for about 4 hours and then to connect your pc to router using ethernet cable, after that they tried to reapir software using xperia companion, I'm gonna try and i'll post results.....
