Battery drain on CM13 - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My OPX's battery drains around 7-10% overnight (in 7-8 hours) even though the phone is on airplane mode with WiFi and GPS turned off.
Kernel Auditor shows that the the phone has been in deep sleep the entire night.
So far I've noticed this in CM13 as well as Purity ROM with and without blu sparks kernel (clean flash).
On OxygenOS 2.2.0, the battery used to drain at most 1-2% overnight.
I couldn't gather any useful info from the built in battery stats or from WakelockDetector.
Is anyone else facing this problem? Does anyone know what could be causing this problem / how to fix it?

Have you disable wifi and bluetooth search in location ?

I got this problem too. Sadly it still happens even when I turn off 2 options in GPS scaning

Hmm, so i guess it's a common issue then.
I thought it was just me who had it as no one else seems to be complaining about it.

No wifi drain for me. But wifi is a problem with last CM13 build for some people, maybe it's that.

No wifi drain for me too. Im on Puritoy Rom. Either on airplane mode or not.

Wow! That's like the battery life I used to get on OxygenOS.
I charged my phone 100% before sleeping and put off airplane mode when I woke up. After that, WiFi has been on for maybe 2-3 hours.
It's now at 10%, roughly 24hrs from the point when it was 100% charged and my screen on time is only 3hrs 5mins.

@ashwinpilgaonkar hey bro. With purity rom this is my overnight battery drain. Charged to 100% and play a little bit until drop to 88% before i sleep. Drained 1%-2% without on airplane mode. When i woke up battery shows 86%. So there is no aggresive drain for me.

This helped me alot. Settings>security>Apps with usage access deactivate the Google play services and after that you should deactivate Network notification in the WIFI menu.

Do a clean flash

Battery indicator inaccurate

Anyone else seeing issues with really inaccurate battery readings? I'll be at 99% charged for 15+ hours sometimes, and then things will drop rapidly or even just die at 20%. I've also noticed when charging that it'll get to 99% within an hour or so and then spend 30-45 mins at 99%.
On top of this, my phone battery just died at around 55%. Are others just draining their battery all the way to try to calibrate?

What rom and Kernel are you on. Also what mods if any such as battery indicators and such have you put on your phone?
@dragonstalker: I'm running stock with the latest OTA update. I'm using Batterybot to display the indicator in the notification bar, but the reading is the same from the stock battery display.
@amit_sen: I've had the phone for a few months.

Doesnt do anything for Li batteries its fud.
For the last 2 days, my battery has drained overnight and is dead by the morning. The first time, I didn't think of it. This time, I looked at the history and it drains within maybe 6 hours without the screen on, being awake, or anything. I turn off all of my radios besides cellular at night. So I have no clue what could be causing the battery drain. Any ideas? Here is a pic of the history

Is anyone using battery calibration apps? I know some of the custom ROMs like Hatka Supreme list that they include some sort of function in those regards.
I thought even on stock there was a way to erase battery stats so that you could recalibrate. No? Could of sworn I had seen the option when I first got the phone. Could be wrong too...

I downloaded Gsam and it says that my radio is taking up most of my battery. Any idea why this is happening because its never done this before? I used to get at least 2 days of battery usage. I charged it until it was full yesterday, let it sit overnight, and this morning it was @ 20%. I'm on newts M7 and z's B5.4. I've been on this combination for the majority of the time I've had my phone an no problems until now. And I don't think its the kernel because the same thing happens when I had it on 5.1. I noticed I was on global mode and I changed it to LTE/CDMA. Who the hell knows, that might be what's causing it. We'll see. Any help is appreciated.

Using the battery app see what app or service is keeping your phone awake. That would be my guess as to what the problem is. I would also suggest flashing cpalmers kernel as well, which has been really good for me in limiting awake time.

Install BatteryGuru, give it a couple days to learn how you use your phone, and watch how it saves your battery once the learning period is done. I swear by this app, it brought me from almost a day to about a day and a half as far as battery life is concerned.
I installed the Gsam battery, it shows that "phone radio" was sucking down a vast majority of the battery.

Then you must be in an area where service isn't good and your phone is searching for service which kills the battery quickly. To conserve battery turn on air plan mode and then turn service on when you get into a zone with better coverage. This will help your battery a lot.

My opinion..don't install any more apps than what you only use. You install more apps it will obviously suck more battery. What you do. Root/unlocked the bootloader and install a sense 5 4.1.2 base Rom. I came from stock and since I've installed a sense 5 stock Rom I've notice a big battery saver comparing from the original sense 4+ stock.hopefully that helps.
Thanks all
Strangely none of this helped the battery drain is too high in standby, after resting (no apps installed only stoke apps) and even flashing sense 5 rom still 15% per hour and even in Air plan mode . The strange thing during the use of the phone the drain is normal.

Normal Drain?
I lose 10-15% of battery overnight. I was told that's normal. I have the LG Optimus L9 P769 with the latest Jellybean update and factory reset. It seems normal that an android drains 1-2% on idle every hour.

The 12hrs is total time running on battery, isn't it? So 12hrs since disconnecting from charger.
I'm jealous as my phone will completely drain within 3-5hrs just sitting with screen off.
thanks JB

WIFI sits at the top of my battery usage screens but it seems it doesn't use the battery all that much.
Took the phone off charge at 10pm last night, turned off wifi/gps, set network manually to UMTS, turned on battery saver and went to bed. Woke up at 2:15 and phone was already dead.
Looking at battery screen currently and after 83 minutes it's down to 60% with only cell stand by and phone idle showing under battery usage.
Cell standby is eating my battery at an alarming rate. I went to bed last night with about a 55% charge, got up this morning and my phone was out of juice.
I am constantly seeing cell standby as the top battery consumer.
Where and how can we report this issue to LG?
if this issue is worth getting rid of the phone, then why not flash ICS? What will you really miss from JB?

Going back to ICS did not fix the issue in my case.
It changed what was shown in the battery usage screen but battery drain itself remained.

grab BetterBatteryStats and see what keeps draining it. I had a drain issue, got BBS from google play, saw a partial wakelock staying on, googled it, and was able to fix it. You could also install init.d support for stock kernel and flash some of the available tweak zips and see if that changes anything.

That's the problem. Nothing really looks out of the ordinary.
Only AlarmMnager(phone and android os) looks to be popping up every few seconds and com.android.phone shows 300 wakeups.
Phone shows deep sleep 135 minutes out of the 160 it's been on and in that 160 minutes battery is down to 60%.
Tweaks were applied a while ago and made a big difference on 20d, not 20f.
Same issue.
Last night before I slept, my P769's battery was over 80% and when I got up the phone was off... !! :crying:

your image link is broken, and i can almost say its normal as my phone didnt last more than 8 ours on the first charge with about 4 hours screen on time. but just yesterday after about 11 days! i got about 30 hours of uptime on a single charge with 3.5 hours of screen on time on the battery, it takes some time to settle down the device ! and also note that i charged my phone from 15% to 80% (as some said not to fully charge or discharge the battery ) and just dayb4 i charged it to 100 % (waited for like 15 more minutes after thefull charge notification was shown) and then took it off charge and got this battery backup! so its better to keep it charging in such a way hope this is helpful to you
Thanks for the replies! Today I charged the phone 2 times. First charge, after 2 hours of screen, my phone was at 50%, then I have charged it again to 100% and now, this is the result:
It's better than yesterday but not enough in my opinion. With only 5 hours of usage, battery dropped down less of the 50%.
Are you on wifi all day? If so, what type of wireless network are you connected to? At home my battery lasts all day and is still at 75% at the end of the day, however at work with a different wireless network I'm at 50% by lunch. Looking at the battery stats at work my phone is almost always awake and is due to wlan_awake.

My router is an ovislink evo w300ar 11n. What I noticed is that when the phone is fully charged takes a lot to down from 100% to 99%, but after 99%, downs 1% every ~6-8 minutes.
Something is definitely not right with your phone. Unless you are a heavy phone user, the battery should not be draining this fast.

Standby battery drain

Hi everybody, I bought my Honor 10 some weeks ago and I'm experiencing a very bad battery behavior: during night, even in Flightmode, I see a battery drain even of 15-20% which is unacceptable for a brand new device.
This happens of course also during the day because it never lasts a whole day because battery drains a lot even when I don't use it and it is in deep sleep in my pocket.
The problem is that I ordered it from Gearbest and I haven't an European warranty so I have to find a way to fix it by myself. Or a solution to send it to assistance.
Please help me, I'm on panic!
