I'm considering whether or not I really need a case for my HOX+, but the material seems really fragile and scratch prone. If you've been using it without a case can you please post a photo of what it looks like now?

I dont think we really need a case for it.. the back is made of polycarbon.. so no need of a case... unless you want to make your phone stylish:laugh:
you better put a case coz the camera lense cover is too vulnerable, it easily to scracth and also the glass even it is gorill *ucking glass but still it can be scatched, i just drop my door key and it gives scratch on the screen
I keep mine in a slip case so it's protected when in my pocket but naked when I'm using it

Hi,
I'm currently using a simple rubber case for the side and back. But, as it has few downsides, I have a question: is the case really needed? I want to hear from you, how this phone performs without the case, does it scratch, or damage easily?
Thanks for any helpful replies.
I liked my phones how I like my women: naked. I didn't drop it once, so I can't tell you what damage it can take (although I'm pretty sure the glass might crack, but I'm not in the habit of dropping my phone), what I can tell you is that the back panel is easily scratchable, so I put a screen protector on it (only on the back). The screen is doing excellent by now, not a single scratch, although I might put a protector on it when the summer comes, I don't want any sand on the glass.
Depends, do you have any history of dropping phones? We all have different cases, some people drop their phones often, some do not. Also, there are a huge variety of cases for the z2, mine is a very thin 0.3mm case which feel good in hand, but doesn't provide that much protection.
Regarding the scratches, I can confirm that some cases scratch the back if there are dust and dirt trapped inside.
In my opinion yes, if u are not a rich man like me. Atleast ill use a case for 1 - 2 years before ill naked my phone.

Get a case if you dont like scratching the sides and the back of your phone. If you want to keep your phone slim with mediocre protection, you can try Spigen Ultra Fit. Im using it. Im happy with it as it has protected my phone from falls before, like 3 times, without any damage or scratch. Bulky ones arent my type. I keep my phone on my side pocket. Been using this phone for 7 months, not a scratch! Im just lucky or very cautious. Good luck!
It's not really needed, but I think it's worth the money because of the added protection.
For those that have used a case, have you also used a screen protector? Plastic or tempered glass?

Nillkin Tempered 9H here. Phone fell down 1.5 meters this afternoon (front of the phone hit the concrete), the screen protector didn't survive it. Phone is completely unscratched however, so it works wonders

Thanks for the info. One more thing...if the tempered glass breaks, is it complicated to remove it and replace it?

I have replaced the back glass twice on my Z2.
Both times it cracked whilst in my front pocket.
I wouldn't suggest tight pants with the phone Haha.
EDIT: not hard at all. Look it up on YouTube. Took me about a minute.

It was really easy. Phone was a bit sticky at first, but the provided cloth fixed that problem. Replacing it should be easy, but I don't know for sure. My new screen protector should come in on tuesday

There are good quality tempered glass out there that doesn't break easily...

Hi, if you don't want your phone to get scratches on front/back glass panels, I suggest you buy a tempered glass protector. There are many brands out there that you can buy in the market (e.g. Spigen, Nillkin etc.)
I have white colour and I don't want it to get stained so I'm using a cover.

Yeah. I've got a nasty scratch on the front, so Nillkin H+ is on my way.
InviGuard
Anyone hear uses InviGuard to replace Hard cases?
You might wanna consider a case that can lift up the back slightly. I didn't use a case, but 2 weeks later, I scratched the camera lens already. So I really suggest using a case

I don't use a case, because until now I believed in dragonglass. Unfortunately something scratched the back of my phone. Although Xperia devices are very good, next time I'll use a case.
I bought my phone and used it without a case for nearly one week. I was so stressed that it could slip and broke the front or back glass, then I bought a cheap but efficient hybrid case, it has like rubber and hard plastic covering the back.
Also, my phone now looks black, as it is white and I don't like that color.

I don't use a case. Just front and back screen protectors.

Hello, I have got my new V10, unboxed it and noticed that there is a kind of "originally put foil or glass" on the phone. I'm really new to smartphones and my question is: is it the Gorilla Glass or can i take this off for example when it scratches?
I assume this is the factory screen protector, it isn't very high end and mostly there for shipping. You can remove this at anytime. Maybe keep on until you get a new higher quality screen protector (tempered glass is the way to go) but something is better than nothing

Hi all,
I don't have any issues with the phone..it works well, the camera is great and I get good battery life.
Only thing that bothers me is that I get scratches on the camera glass (back of phone).
I keep it in my pocket, I never put anything else in the pocket with the phone.
Never put it in a bag..
Not sure how I keep getting scratches.
These are tiny scratches but I'm sure that in this rate I'll have them all over the glass in a year.
Really weird.
Anybody else is getting scratches there?
I have the H850 variant.
Thanks!

No but ive had my phone in a case since day 1. Have no scratches or issues and its always in my pocket when not in use.
Have you removed the camera protection film ?
Mine scratched easily, and eventually cracked. There's a thread somewhere talking about all the cracked camera glass issues. I replaced mine, they're available on eBay now.

Yeah I've seen them. Is the quality good enough?
In replacement I've bought for the G2\G4 I've noticed that light reflects differently on the China glass. I think it lacks some coating but I could be wrong.
With that in mind, this coating worth nothing if I need to put a protector on the glass.
I wish I could find a case with a little door for the camera. I don't mind open a little door when I want to take a photo.
There ok. I replaced my broken one so I could do a warranty exchange and I have a second one on hand in case the one on the new phone breaks too. I guess they're made out of acrylic so they shouldn't crack

Anybody have any suggestions on an alternative to the Spigen Rugged Armor? I'm suffering from the dreaded focusing issue and its getting quite annoying. I like the case, it has done its job many times but the issue is simply too annoying to keep the case around. I've looked at the slim case thread but a little worried about the protection aspect of a slim case.
Any ideas?

When taking pictures and many times when trying to record a video, it doesn't focus correctly. It will jump in and out of focus constantly.

Don't get me wrong I really like the case but the auto focus is quite an issue. When the case is taken off the phone has no issue whatsoever .
I wondered why I kept having problems but my girlfriends is fine, would explain it

Hm I have the case too and haven't really noticed it. I know that videos have a serious issue when focusing....That is a software issue, not your case. It has been happening to me since I got the phone with other cases on. It can't seem to keep focus while video recording.
Maybe I'll have to try taking pics with the case on and then off to see the issue

There are various options in the main case thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel/accessories/pixel-t3475315
Here are some that seemed comparable to me when I was looking for a case:
Diztronic - I own this and it meets my interests
Caseology Vault - This was the main alternative I considered
Cruzerlite - Not really my style, but it's probably comparable to the others
My case seems to fit similar to when I received it, but there's another opinion in here:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/0...ogle-pixel-case-reviews-continuously-updated/
i used rugged armour for Oneplus 3 and it was a great case but wanted to try something else. I bought Caseology Vault case and its similar to TPU spigen rugged armour but look and feel is much better. cut outs are little bigger and no camera focus issue.
