Hi there everyone
My OS is 4.1.2 XWLS8, rooted and have philz kernel. I had flashed ripple effect on my phone 2 months ago. I was using it without any problem. The lockscreen type was "swipe" But today I changed the lockscreen setting to (i dont know the real translation)"motion" (tap the finger and move the phone to unlock). After this changement my phone start resetting. I can not acces to phone, it is always resetting, I have to take of the battery to stop resetting. Sometimes it reachs to the main screen, but just for a second then it reset again. I think the ripple effect overlap with the "motion" lockscreen setting. If I can reach the settings screen then I can change the lockscreen settings to the default settings. But I can not reach because It is always resetting. How can I solve this problem without wiping? I dont want to loose all my data and apps. I re-flashed the firmware with odin but it didn't work. There should be another solution. Can you help me please?...
Forgive for stating the obvious, but once everything is (working) as you like, Nandroid it, so that any future changes that you are not happy with can easily be reversed with a simple restore.
A Nandroid should also be done prior to any flashing of mods, etc.
Better safe than sorry.

So what can I do now? I can reach the philz recovery manager, is there anything I can do from that menu?
I have a backup before flashing ripple effect. But when I click to restore it It says MD5 mismatch
Does anybody face the same problem since a few days ago? I have an ICS and a JB device which both stopped updating the weather and the location in the lock screen.
Both devices are rooted with the SpeedMod kernel. But much longer than the problem persists.
I tried to clear the data of the Accuweather apps. I even restored an older nandroid backup, did a factory reset and finally tried to flash the ICS device with PIT an started from 2.3.3 to update to 4.0.4 again. Nothing changed.
Especially because not even a complete reflash helped, it must be some Accuweather server or service error.
The strange thing is, that the weather/location on the lock (!) screen does update itself, when I add the Accuweather widget to the home (!) screen and update manually. Removing the widget again, will prevent the lock screen weather to "freeze" again.
...on two independent devices!!
EDIT:
The JB device just had a wrong/disabled update interval after a modification. ICS still refuses to update without any known reason.

Seems like a bug, try searching for a mod.

Bugs don't appear after months of correct function.
And why am I the only one? And why on two different devices?
I don't want to use a mod just because the lock screen weather doesn't update all of a sudden.

I seem to have found the solution. Here's what I did:
Disable lock scree weather in the display settings.
Force close the service and process via application manger (section running).
Clear RAM.
Shut down the system.
Went into CWM recovery and cleared cache and dalvik cache.
Restart system.
Enable lock screen weather.
I can't quite explain, why factory reset and repartition didn't help, but cleaning dalvik cache does.
Does the dalvik cache survive a factory reset?? I guess no. Anyway, it seems to work again.
UPDATE:
Weather doesn't update again.
OK, the JB device has been "fixed". There it was just a reset update interval because of a recently installed mod.
But my ICS device still refuses to update. I desperately tried to factory reset it again with no succes.
Does anybody have an idea? :crying: Root is available, if there's an idea which needs it.
When I try to enter lockscreen settings it crashes all the time, even after a reboot. I'm using LG G5 H850 with Android 7.0. Stock rom, but with Magisk. How can I fix it? (Yes I did a factory reset after upgrade)
After Ota update of my mate 10 to Rom 131, I gave my phone a factory reset. However I can't find the lockscreen shortcut anymore.
Anyway to get it back? Can someone upload it here?
After updating my phone to the latest firmware, I can't use any wallpaper. It does not show the wallpaper I used previously before the update. Subsequently, after the update, I cannot change my wallpaper. It only shows a black screen with widgets on the home screen.
I have tried using different launchers, changing wallpapers, rebooting the device. It doesn't work.
This is a stock ROM. The bootloader is LOCKED.
Please advise.
Make factory reset.
