Wireless file sharing like the Compact 3? - Xperia Z5 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know if the C5 has similiar capabilities like the C3 to wirelessy show up in the windows explorer? So the phone just becomes a drive like when hooked up with USB but only wireless? This is a great feature on the C3 but i can't seem to find it on the 5.

Have you tried this?

Did you not have to set it up to do so? I know es explorer allows this but I've never heard of a native function allowing this.

[Q] Can my phone be showed in my workgroup on my pc? And what is Media server?

Hi,
First of all, I'm from the Netherlands so my english is might bad.
Well, I have an SE Xperia X10 with "WB-XPERIA TW Gingerbread V3.6.0". I just hate it to connect my usb cable everytime i want to transfer something. So my question is; is there any app which can display my phone in my workgroup on my pc (with Windows 7 x64)?
My second questions, what is mediaserver? I googled it and people were saying its your phones sound or something like that? But i think that's kinda improbable because it has wifi settings, clients settings, and servername settings.
It would be great if you could help me!
Anyone any idea?

I use the paid version of this app to transfer files to my phone wirelessly

I knew of that app, it would be better if my phone shows up in my workgroup. But I guess there isn't a app for that! Thanks anyway!

[Q] Use Galaxy S II as iPad touchpad/mouse?

Hey guys!
I got an iPad 2 because of someone's success, so it's kinda emotional - long story short, I can't sell it, so I want to use it in an efficient way.
- the question: is there an app that turns my Galaxy S II into a touchpad/mouse that doesn't require software on the client's side - or is there any app that pairs my phone with my iPad in this way?
Thanks!
/pushing myself into greater heights
You might be able to pair a bluetooth mouse to the ipad and hope it works like a cursor(it works on the sgs2 i believe) but no way is there anything that will allow you to use the touchscreen on the sgs2 as a mouse for the ipad.

that looks to be using just wifi, i would prefer bluetooth without a client-server system
I use gmote.

Sorry, I had my add post window up before your post showed up for me, so I did not see your added criteria, and you didn't have this criteria in your original post.
Also, through a quick search of the market and google, I couldn't find ANY that don't have to install some kind of server software on the pc you are attempting to control.

S4 and IMac

I just recently purchase an IMac and am just learning how to use it.
When I plug in the S4 to the IMac it gives tow options on the phone, I check transfer files because I want to drag and drop some songs onto the S4 but when I go to the IMac I do not see the phone showing up on it.
Any Ideas what I am doing wrong?
It was so simple on the PC before.
Thank you,
Steven

Download Android File Transfer. I'm a Mac user and this works for me. You can also try isyncr to get an iTunes like experience, although I don't use it myself. I have heard a lot of good things about it. Stay away from DoubleTwist, it only supports data transfer over WiFi because its not compatible with MTP file transferring. Kies sucks, in my experience, but may work or you too. I recomend making Kies your last option if you don't like the others.

Android File Transfer to your Mac, it allows for drag and drop. However, if you have already installed Kies, you need to uninstall it before trying to use Android File Transfer. Kies blocks it.

Android File Transfer in my opinion it is lighter weight and simple drag and drop with easy folder navigation on the phone.

No it isnt. Cool tool shows the stats on the phone. The istat on a mac / ios is a remote viewing of other hardware. For example, my Netgear Readynas can send istat-data, butt I dont use any mac / ios products. Thats why I "need" a version for the android...
Finally! I found one that gives me the stat via istat from my ReadyNas to my android phone.

Is it possible to use Z5Compact as an external cam for your tablet? (like a gopro)

Hi
I was wondering...
If you have an action camera like a GoPro, you can connect it to your tablet and see in life what the camera is seeing/recording. Without internet.
Could that be possible using the Z5 compact? I mean, to connect it in some way (wifi?bluetooth?usb wire?magic?) to my tablet. So in my tablet I can see in life what the Z5Compact is seeing/recording with the camera. Without internet.
Is that possible?
How?
Thanks
(I am not quite sure if this topic is in the right subforum. if not, feel free to move it)
Yup its possible
mmmm... how?
the only way I knew was to be both devices (z5compact and tablet) connected to the same wifi. and then transfer the lifevideo from the z5compact to the tablet via IPcam (or an app call like that)... otherwise... doing like a life streaming online, or a videocall..
but I mean... how can you do it without an internet connection? like you can do with a go pro
if it is possible.... is everyone going to keep it like a secret?!?!?! hahaha
My buddy uses an old phone as security camera, I'll ask him what he's using but I'm sure it's wifi.
yes please. still havent found anyone saying a way of doing that without internet

A quick play store search pulls a couple up. There's gotta be an app for that.
